Abstract

The invention relates to sewing needles that can be used by people who lack visual acuity or suffer from disorders affecting their fine motor skills. The claimed sewing needle is comprised of a shaft having a pointed end and an eye at the other end of the shaft. One of the sides of the eye has a bushing seated thereon with clearance relative to the side of the eye, said bushing being capable of radial rotation in order to wind a thread during threading into the eye. Use of this sewing needle structure facilitates the process of introducing a thread into the eye of the needle.

[0002] The invention relates to light industry, namely to the manufacture and use of sewing needles and can be used in sewing production, consumer services, in everyday life, and other areas when performing sewing operations during embroidery, making toys and other decorative and applied art products, as well as in medicine, printing, and also in the manufacture and repair of footwear and other accessories and products.

[0005] In everyday life, a hand sewing needle is widely used in the form of a metal rod, one end of which is sharpened, and at the other end there is an eye for attaching a thread. For people with impaired vision, threading a thread through a narrow hole in the eye of such a needle is a rather difficult manipulation.

[0006] A sewing needle is known from the prior art according to patent for invention No. 2104351 of 10.02.1998, a sewing needle, which is a rod made of elastic material with a point at one end and at the other with an axial slot expanding from its middle part, is distinguished by the fact that the needle is made in such a way that its ends on the slot side are spread apart during the release and threading of the thread, and a sleeve with the possibility of axial movement is put on the rod, having a thread on the inner surface corresponding to the thread on the rod, ending with a stop.

[0008] A sewing needle is known according to the patent for invention No. 2312942 of 20.12.2007 "Hand sewing needle". The invention relates to needles for hand sewing and is intended primarily for people with impaired vision. The hand sewing needle consists of a rod with an arcuate bend, one end of which is pointed, and at the other end there is an eye with mutually spring-loaded side cheeks and with a cut ending in a wedge-shaped expansion at the end of the needle. The eye cut is located in the plane of the arcuate bend of the rod. The bend of the rod is characterized by the following parameters: the distance from the chord to the point of the arcuate bend most distant from it is in the range from 1 to 6 mm. The invention allows visually impaired people to more confidently and successfully perform the procedure associated with threading the eye of a hand sewing needle.

[0009] The closest analogue to the developed invention is the hand sewing needle according to patent No. 2312942 of 27.08.2006, application No. 2006113625 of 24.04.2006. The disadvantages of the known sewing needle include the fact that the spring-loaded side cheeks damage the thread fibers, which in some cases leads to twisting of the thread fibers, entanglement of the thread itself or the thread fibers, or to breakage of the working thread.

[0010] The thread may suddenly fall out of the spring-loaded cheeks, leaving the needle empty. In addition, it is difficult to return the needle to the same hole in the fabric when it is necessary to correct a sewing error due to the forked back of the needle.

[0011] The problem, which the development of the present invention is aimed at, is the creation of a sewing needle, devoid of the above-mentioned drawbacks. The use of the design of the developed sewing needle ensures the adaptation of people with limited functional capabilities, visually impaired people, as well as people with impaired fine motor skills, since it allows to facilitate the procedure associated with inserting a thread into the eye of the needle.

[0012] Adaptation of people using the developed sewing needle will increase their demand in society for work in sewing production, consumer services, in everyday life, and other areas when performing sewing operations, as well as increase their motivation.

[0013] DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION

[0014] The technical result consists in increasing the convenience of using the developed design of the sewing needle and the labor intensity in operation. Compared with known sewing needles, the time spent on the procedure of threading the working thread into the eye of the needle is reduced.

[0015] The advantage of the developed design is that the eyelet is kept closed, as a result of which the thread fibers do not twist or tangle. The working thread does not break, but moves freely and provides the ability to return to the original state of the back of the needle if it is necessary to correct a sewing error; the working thread does not fall out, is not injured, does not twist, does not tangle.

[0016] The essence of the invention is that a sewing needle, which is a rod with a pointed end and an eye at the other end, is distinguished by the fact that at least one side of the eye is made with a sleeve put on it with a gap in relation to the side of the eye and the possibility of radial movement of the said sleeve.

Claims

1. A sewing needle, which is a rod with a pointed end and an eye at the other end of the rod, characterized in that one side of the eye is made with a sleeve placed on it with a gap in relation to the side of the eye and with the possibility of its radial rotation, to enable the thread to be wound when threaded into the eye.

2. A sewing needle according to item 1, characterized in that the edges of the sleeve are rounded.

3. A sewing needle according to item 1, characterized in that the side of the eye on which the bushing is located is made with a smaller diameter in relation to the diameter of the other sides of the eye.
