Description

Flip seat for front and rear seating

[0001] A standard front-to-back flip seat refers to a seat used in public transportation or trains that can rotate in two directions to change its orientation. This seat is designed to allow passengers to sit in their preferred direction, enabling them to sit aligned with the direction of travel or face the opposite direction. The term 'Flip seat' originates from the fact that the seat can be folded or rotated.

[0002] The present invention relates to a flip seat for front-to-back seating, comprising a back frame (10) coupled to the upper left and right sides of a U-frame (30) and adjustable forward and backward, and a cushion frame coupled to the upper left and right sides of the U-frame (30) and adjustable 180 degrees forward and backward, wherein when the back frame (10) is rotated backward and the cushion frame (20) is rotated forward, a chair is formed in which a seated person can sit in the front, and when the back frame (10) is rotated forward and the cushion frame (20) is rotated backward, a chair is formed in which a seated person can sit in the rear.

[0003] The backrest of the chair is fixed to one end of the seat base to support the occupant's lower back, neck, etc.

[0004] Conventionally, seats with movable backrests were only available in certain trains that operated for long periods and provided ample space. In this case, the seat backrest and seat plate could be separated, and the seat plate was equipped with a seat plate frame and a moving mechanism to allow the seat plate to move, and a device consisting of complex and numerous driving elements was provided to allow the seat backrest to move and be supported.

[0005] Since this structure is not suitable for seats in intercity buses, express buses, and passenger cars in terms of space and cost, seats with movable backrests have not been widely adopted in these conventional modes of transportation.

[0006] Meanwhile, Korean Published Patent Application No. 10-2009-0042062 (Patent Document 1) discloses a "chair," wherein the chair according to the above is characterized by comprising: a seat plate having support grooves formed on edges facing each other; a seat backrest having an end supported in the support grooves; and a support connecting the seat plate and the seat backrest so that the seat backrest can move relatively with respect to the seat plate.

[0007] In the case of Patent Document 1 as described above, the seat plate is fixed and cannot be set up vertically, which has the problem of not being able to utilize the space of the seat plate.

[0010] In addition, when the cushion frame (20) is rotated 90 degrees downward, the cushion frame (20) is folded into the inner side of the U-frame (30), creating a space that can be utilized as the cushion frame (20) is unfolded horizontally forward or backward. This is intended to provide a flip sheet.

[0011] The flip seat for front and rear seating according to the present invention for solving the above problems is composed of a back frame (10) that is coupled to the upper left and right sides of a U-frame (30) and is adjustable in the front and rear directions, and a cushion frame that is coupled to the upper left and right sides of the U-frame (30) and is adjustable in the front and rear directions by 180 degrees. When the back frame (10) is rotated backward and the cushion frame (20) is rotated forward, a chair is formed in which a seated person can sit in the front, and when the back frame (10) is rotated forward and the cushion frame (20) is rotated backward, a chair is formed in which a seated person can sit in the rear.

[0012] Here, the back frame (10) is rotated forward or backward by the back frame motor (13), and the cushion frame (20) is rotated forward or backward by the cushion frame motor (23).

[0013] Additionally, the cushion frame (20) is further equipped with a position sensor (24) on one side thereof to detect the forward or rearward rotational position of the cushion frame (20) and further include a control unit (60) that controls the rotation of the cushion frame motor (23).

[0014] In addition, a back frame position sensor (not shown) is further provided on one side of the back frame (10) to detect the rotational position of the back frame (10) forward or backward and to control the rotation of the back frame motor (13).

[0015] According to the present invention, the back frame (10) is connected to the upper left and right sides of a U-shaped frame (30) and is adjustable forward and backward; the cushion frame (20) is connected to the upper left and right sides of the U-frame (30) and is adjustable 180 degrees forward and backward; the back frame motor (13) rotates the back frame (10) forward and backward; the cushion frame motor (23) rotates the cushion frame forward and backward; the position sensor (24); and the control unit (60) adjusts the rotation angle of the back frame (10) or the cushion frame (20), and when the back frame (10) is rotated backward and the cushion frame (20) is rotated forward, the seated person can sit on the cushion frame (20), which is a seat formed in the front, and when the back frame (10) is rotated forward and the cushion frame (20) is rotated backward, the seated person can sit on the cushion frame (20), which is a seat formed in the rear.

[0016] In addition, when the cushion frame (20) is rotated 90 degrees downward, the cushion frame (20) is folded into the inner side of the U-frame (30), creating a space that can be utilized as the cushion frame (20) is unfolded horizontally forward or backward.

[0017] In other words, by not using the cushion frame (20) as a seat, the cushion frame (20) has the effect of utilizing the front and rear horizontal space.

[0018] FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a flip seat for front and rear seating according to the present invention.

[0019] FIG. 2 shows a front view of FIG. 1 AA according to the present invention.

[0020] Figure 3 shows a back frame gear formed on the lower part of the back frame of the present invention.

[0021] Figure 4 shows a hinge rod pipe connected to the cushion frame of the present invention.

[0022] Figure 5 shows a cushion frame gear formed on the cushion frame of the present invention.

[0023] FIG. 6 shows a control unit that controls the rotation angle of the back frame and cushion frame of the present invention.
