Electronic device and control method therefor

Abstract

This electronic device comprises: at least one processor including processing circuitry; a memory storing instructions; a display; a communication circuit; and a microphone, wherein the instructions, when individually or collectively executed by the at least one processor, cause the electronic device to: identify characteristic information of a plurality of Internet of Things (IoT) devices that can be connected via the communication circuit; on the basis of the characteristic information of the plurality of IoT devices, identify a plurality of audio devices including speakers; obtain a sound map indicating the arrangement positions and speaker information of the plurality of audio devices; set a multi-speaker event for controlling a target device among the plurality of audio devices on the basis of the sound map; and, if a user voice related to the multi-speaker event is received through the microphone in a state in which the multi-speaker event is set, control the target device to output content corresponding to the user voice.
