Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an electronic device and a driving method therefor. The method may comprise the operations of: detecting connection to an external electronic device that supports a display interface; acquiring identification information about the external electronic device on the basis of the connection to the external electronic device; identifying, on the basis of the identification information, a plurality of link rates supported by the external electronic device as a transmission rate for transmitting data; identifying an operating frequency of a communication module included in the electronic device; determining a first link rate among the plurality of link rates on the basis of the operating frequency of the communication module; performing at least one verification process with the external electronic device on the basis of the first link rate; and transmitting the data to the external electronic device at a designated first transmission rate corresponding to the first link rate when the at least one verification process is completed.
