Abstract
The invention relates to a steering system (1) for a motor vehicle, comprising: an individual-wheel steering controller which is in the form of a rotary steering actuator (10) and is mounted axially parallel to the steering axis (12) between an upper transverse link (14) and a lower transverse link (15) of a chassis, wherein the rotary steering actuator (10) has an electric motor (16), a first transmission element (20) which is coupled to an output shaft (18) of the electric motor (16), and a second transmission element (24) which is connected to a steering shaft (22) for conjoint rotation therewith. The first transmission element (20) and the second transmission element (24) are connected to one another directly or via a coupling element (26) so as to transmit a torque, and in the event of a compressing movement of the chassis, the first transmission element (20) can be translationally displaced relative to the second transmission element (24) while maintaining a torque transmission capability or the second transmission element (24) can be translationally displaced relative to the first transmission element (20) while maintaining a torque transmission capability.
