AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing quality check systems in industrial production processes often require inefficient supplementary processing steps due to inadequate detection of deviations that do not yet fail quality checks, leading to increased costs and time inefficiencies.

Method used

An assistance system that provides quality data, detects changes in production quality using a combination of individual quality change indicators and alerts users before a failed quality check occurs, utilizing statistical methods and machine learning to enhance detection accuracy.

🎯Benefits of technology

Enables early intervention to maintain production quality, reducing the need for costly and time-consuming supplementary processing by identifying sub-threshold deviations, thereby increasing production efficiency.

Abstract

An assistance system (100) for assisting a user in maintaining a production quality of an industrial production process is presented, wherein the assistance system comprises a quality data providing unit (101) configured to provide quality data acquired in quality checks carried out on a plurality of product samples arising from the production process, and a detection unit (102) configured to detect a change in the production quality of the production process based on the quality data, wherein the change in the production quality is less than a change that would lead to a failed quality check. Furthermore, the system comprises an alert unit (103) configured to generate an alert to the user if the detection unit has detected the change in the production quality. With this system, supplementary processing steps necessitated by failed quality checks can be avoided, and therefore an increased production efficiency can be achieved.
