Abstract
The present invention discloses a midfacial expander device. The device comprises at least one alignment rod and at least one sleeve to receive the alignment rod therein. The device comprises a first expander body and a second expander body to receive the alignment rod and the sleeve. The device comprises an expansion screw assembly extending between the first and second expander bodies. The device further comprises a first anchor body and a second anchor body to support the respective first expander body and second expander body. The device comprises assembly screws to fasten the expander body to the anchor body. The device comprises temporary anchorage devices for application of the device. The device comprises flanges extending from the periphery of the expander bodies to provide dimensional stability and resistance to bending. The anchor bodies comprise arch-shaped corners for maximum mechanical support.
