Abstract
Description
Pipe water stop mechanism
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a pipe water stop mechanism capable of appropriately stopping the water flow at the joint of the pipe.
[0002] Conventionally, in order to stop the fluid such as water leaking from the joint of the pipe, a mechanism has been used in which a rubber ring is arranged on the outer periphery of the joint and this rubber ring is pressed by a split housing from the outside.
[0003] Also, as a joint of the pipe, a mechanism for stopping the water at the joint between a pair of flanges has been considered.
[0004] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2018-136003 However, conventionally, in a mechanism having a rubber ring provided at the joint between a pair of flanges and a split housing that presses this rubber ring from the outside, a structure that prevents the split housing from disengaging in the axial direction with a simple structure has not been developed.
[0005] The present disclosure has been made in consideration of such points, and in a mechanism having a rubber ring provided at the joint between a pair of flanges and a split housing that presses this rubber ring from the outside, it aims to provide a pipe water stop mechanism that prevents the split housing from disengaging in the axial direction with a simple structure.
[0006] This disclosure comprises a first pipe having a first flange and extending axially, and a second pipe having a second flange joined to the first flange via a flange packing, wherein the first flange is provided with a plurality of first bolt openings, the second flange is provided with a plurality of second bolt openings, bolts having heads are inserted into the first bolt openings and the second bolt openings from the first flange side, and the bolts are tightened by nuts provided on the second flange side, a bolt-side washer is provided on the head side of the bolt, and a nut is provided on the nut side of the bolt. A side washer is provided, a rubber ring is attached to the radial outer circumference of the joint between the first flange and the second flange, the rubber ring is held by a housing that includes a plurality of segmented housings provided radially outward from the rubber ring, each segmented housing having an outer surface that holds the outer circumference of the rubber ring from radially outward, and a pair of side surfaces provided on both sides of the outer surface in the axial direction and holding both axial sides of the rubber ring, and the bolt side washer and the nut side washer engage with the corresponding side surfaces of the segmented housing from axially outward, forming a water-stopping mechanism for piping.
[0007] This disclosure provides a water-stopping mechanism for piping, wherein the bolt-side washer and the nut-side washer each have a water-stopping washer located on the flange packing side and a stopper washer located on the opposite side of the flange packing, and the stopper washer engages with the corresponding side of the split housing.
[0008] This disclosure provides a watertight sealing mechanism for piping, wherein the watertight washer on the bolt side seals the first bolt opening of the first flange, and the watertight washer on the nut side seals the second bolt opening of the second flange.
[0009] This disclosure provides a watertight sealing mechanism for piping, wherein the watertight washer on the bolt side has a watertight ring that seals the first bolt opening of the first flange, and the watertight ring on the nut side has a watertight ring that seals the second bolt opening of the second flange.
[0010] As described above, according to this disclosure, in a mechanism having a rubber ring provided at the joint between a pair of flanges and a split housing that holds the rubber ring from the outside, it is possible to prevent the split housing from detaching in the axial direction with a simple structure.
[0011] Figure 1 is a partial cross-sectional view showing the water-sealing mechanism of the piping according to the present disclosure, viewed from the line A-B-C-D in Figure 2. Figure 2 is a view of the water-sealing mechanism of the piping according to the present disclosure from the axial direction. Figure 3 is a side cross-sectional view showing the washer on the nut side. Figure 4 is a perspective view showing the water-sealing mechanism of the piping according to the present disclosure, with the housing partially broken to expose the rubber packing. Figure 5 is a view of the water-sealing mechanism of the piping according to the present disclosure, viewed from a direction perpendicular to the axial direction.
[0012] The water-stopping mechanism for piping according to this disclosure will be described below with reference to the drawings. Figures 1 to 5 show embodiments of the water-stopping mechanism for piping according to this disclosure.
[0013] As shown in Figures 1 to 5, the water-stopping mechanism 10 for the piping includes a first pipe 11 having a first flange 11A and extending along the axial direction L, and a second pipe 12 having a second flange 12A joined to the first flange 11A via a flange packing 17 and extending along the axial direction L.
[0014] In this embodiment, the first flange 11A is provided with a plurality of first bolt openings 13, for example four, along the circumferential direction, and the second flange 12A is provided with a plurality of second bolt openings 14, for example four, along the circumferential direction (see Figures 2, 4, and 5).
[0015] Furthermore, bolts 15 having a head 15a are inserted into the first bolt opening 13 of the first flange 11A and the second bolt opening 14 of the second flange 12A, and these bolts 15 are tightened with nuts 16. In this way, the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A are joined and fixed together by the bolts 15 and nuts 16.
[0016] In this case, the bolt 15 is inserted from the first flange 11A side, and the nut 16 is positioned on the second flange 12A side. Therefore, in this embodiment, the flange into which the bolt 15 is inserted becomes the first flange 11A, and the flange on the nut 16 side becomes the second flange 12A.
[0017] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 1, the bolt 15 has a bolt shaft portion 15b and a head portion 15a provided at one end of the bolt shaft portion 15b in the axial direction L. The head portion 15a of the bolt 15 is formed at one end of the bolt shaft portion 15b by tightening an additional nut having substantially the same structure as the nut 16 to one end of the bolt shaft portion 15b. The head portion 15a of the bolt 15 may also consist of a head fixed to one end of the bolt shaft portion 15b.
[0018] Furthermore, a bolt-side washer 21 is attached to the head 15a side of the bolt 15, and a nut-side washer 25 is attached to the nut 16 side of the bolt 15. As shown in Figure 1, the bolt-side washer 21 is positioned between the head 15a and the first flange 11A, and the nut-side washer 25 is positioned between the nut 16 and the second flange 12A.
[0019] Furthermore, the bolt-side washer 21 includes a water-sealing washer 23 located on the flange packing 17 side and a stopper washer 22 located on the opposite side of the flange packing 17.
[0020] The nut-side washer 25 also includes a water-sealing washer 27 located on the flange packing 17 side and a stopper washer 26 located on the opposite side of the flange packing 17.
[0021] Incidentally, the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A are joined to each other via a flange packing 17. A rubber ring 33 is attached to the outer circumference of the joint 40 formed between the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A via the flange packing 17, to seal this joint 40.
[0022] This rubber ring 33 is made of EPDM (ethylene propylene diene rubber) and is obtained by forming a ring shape from a single string-like rubber. The ends of the string-like rubber may be joined and fixed with adhesive to form the entire rubber ring 33, or the ends of the string-like rubber may be brought into contact without joining them to form a ring shape. Note that the rubber ring 33 does not necessarily have to be made of EPDM, and other rubber materials can be used.
[0023] Furthermore, the rubber ring 33 is held from the outer circumference by a housing 30 which includes a plurality of, for example, a pair of divided housings 30A and 30B, provided radially outward from the rubber ring 33.
[0024] As shown in Figure 1, the rubber ring 33 has a first lip 33a that abuts the outer circumference of the first flange 11A and a second lip 33b that abuts the outer circumference of the second flange 12A in a cross-section along the axial direction L. A space 33c is formed between the first lip 33a and the second lip 33b.
[0025] When a fluid such as water leaks from the joint 40 between the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A, the fluid enters the space 33c of the rubber ring 33, and the internal pressure of the space 33c increases. In this case, as the internal pressure of the space 33c increases, the first lip 33a strongly presses against the outer circumference of the first flange 11A, and the second lip 33b strongly presses against the outer circumference of the second flange 12A. In this way, the rubber ring 33 can effectively stop the fluid leaking to the outside from the joint 40 between the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A.
[0026] Incidentally, the housing 30 that holds the rubber ring 33 from the outer circumference has, as described above, a pair of divided housings 30A and 30B that are divided into two parts along the circumferential direction. In this embodiment, each divided housing 30A and 30B has an outer peripheral surface 31 that holds the outer circumference of the rubber ring 33 from the radially outward direction, and a pair of side surfaces 32, 32 provided on both sides of the outer peripheral surface 31 in the axial direction L, which hold both sides of the rubber ring 33 in the axial direction L (see Figure 4).
[0027] Furthermore, the bolt-side washer 21 provided on the head 15a side of the bolt 15 has, as described above, a water-sealing washer 23 located on the flange packing 17 side and a stopper washer 22 located on the opposite side from the flange packing 17, of which the stopper washer 22 engages with the corresponding side surfaces 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B.
[0028] Furthermore, the nut-side washer 25 provided on the nut 16 side of the bolt 15 has, as described above, a water-sealing washer 27 located on the flange packing 17 side and a stopper washer 26 located on the opposite side of the flange packing 17, of which the stopper washer 26 engages with the corresponding side surfaces 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B.
[0029] In this way, the stopper washer 22 of the bolt-side washer 21 and the stopper washer 26 of the nut-side washer 25 engage with the corresponding side surfaces 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B, thereby fixing the split housings 30A and 30B that hold the rubber ring 33 to the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A along the axial direction L. Therefore, the rubber ring 33 provided on the outer circumference of the joint 40 between the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A, and the split housings 30A and 30B that hold this rubber ring 33, will not move along the axial direction L from the joint 40 or detach from the joint 40.
[0030] Therefore, the joint 40 between the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A can be reliably sealed by the rubber ring 33.
[0031] Incidentally, the bolt-side washer 21 and the nut-side washer 25 have substantially the same structure. The nut-side washer 25 will be described further with reference to Figure 3. The nut-side washer 25 has a stopper washer 26 that engages with the side surface 32 of the split housing 30A, 30B, and a water-sealing washer 27 located on the flange packing 17 side. The water-sealing washer 27 includes a water-sealing ring 28, which fits into the second bolt opening 14 of the second flange 12A and seals the inside of the second bolt opening 14.
[0032] In this embodiment, both the stopper washer 26 and the watertight washer 27 of the nut-side washer 25 are made of SUS (stainless steel), and since the stopper washer 26 engages with the side surfaces 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B, the outer shape of the stopper washer 26 is larger than the outer shape of the watertight washer 27.
[0033] Furthermore, the watertight washer 27 is mounted close to the second bolt opening 14 side of the second flange 12A without engaging with the side surfaces 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B. This allows the watertight ring 28 provided on the watertight washer 27 to effectively enter the second bolt opening 14 of the second flange 12A.
[0034] The water-sealing washer 27 is made of SUS (stainless steel) as described above, and the water-sealing ring 28 is made of EPDM (polypropylene). However, the water-sealing ring 28 does not necessarily have to be made of EPDM; other rubber materials can also be used.
[0035] Furthermore, the bolt-side washer 21 has a structure that is almost identical to that of the nut-side washer 25.
[0036] Next, we will describe the materials of each component. The first pipe 11, the first flange 11A, the second pipe 12, and the second flange 12A are all made of steel.
[0037] Furthermore, an internal coating film 11a is provided on the inner surface of the first pipe 11, and this internal coating film 11a extends from the first pipe 11 to partway along the inner surface of the first flange 11A.
[0038] Furthermore, an internal coating film 12a is provided on the inner surface of the second pipe 12, and this internal coating film 12a extends from the second pipe 12 to partway along the inner surface of the second flange 12A.
[0039] Furthermore, the flange packing 17, rubber ring 33, and water-sealing rings 24 and 28 are all made of EPDM. However, as mentioned above, the flange packing 17, rubber ring 33, and water-sealing rings 24 and 28 do not necessarily have to be made of EPDM, and other rubber materials can be used. Also, the flange packing 17 is not limited to rubber materials including EPDM, and paper packings such as asbestos packings may be used.
[0040] Furthermore, both of the split housings 30A and 30B that constitute the housing 30 are made of cast iron. Also, both the stopper washer 22 and the water stop washer 23 of the bolt side washer 21 and the stopper washer 26 and the water stop washer 27 of the nut side washer 25 are made of SUS.
[0041] As shown in FIG. 2, the split housings 30A and 30B each have protruding portions 30A1 and 30B1 that protrude radially outward at both ends in the circumferential direction. Then, the protruding portions 30A1 and 30B1 of the split housings 30A and 30B are brought into contact with each other, and a connecting bolt 35 is inserted into these protruding portions 30A1 and 30B1. Next, by tightening the connecting bolt 35 inserted into the protruding portions 30A1 and 30B1 with a connecting nut 36, the protruding portions 30A1 and 30B1 are fixed, and the pair of split housings 30A and 30B can be assembled. In this way, the housing 30 composed of the pair of split housings 30A and 30B is obtained.
[0042] In this case, both the connecting bolt 35 and the connecting nut 36 for assembling the pair of split housings 30A and 30B are made of SUS.
[0043] Next, the operation of the present embodiment having such a configuration will be described.
[0044] First, the first pipe 11 having the first flange 11A and the second pipe 12 having the second flange 12A are arranged such that the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A face each other. In this case, a flange packing 17 is interposed between the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A. Also, the existing flange packing 17 is used.
[0045] Next, a string-like rubber ring 33 is extended around the outer periphery of the joint portion 40 between the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A, and a pair of split housings 30A and 30B that hold the rubber ring 33 radially outward of the rubber ring 33 are arranged.
[0046] Next, a connecting bolt 35 is inserted into the protruding portions 30A1 and 30B1 of the pair of split housings 30A and 30B, and this connecting bolt 35 is tightened with a connecting nut 36.
[0047] This fixes the protruding portion 30A1 of the split housing 30A and the protruding portion 30B1 of the split housing 30B. By doing this, the pair of split housings 30A and 30B can be assembled to form the housing 30. And the rubber ring 33 can be held by the housing 30 formed by assembling the pair of split housings 30A and 30B.
[0048] In this case, the outer periphery of the rubber ring 33 can be held by the outer peripheral surfaces 31 of the split housings 30A and 30B from the radially outer side. Also, both side surfaces of the rubber ring 33 along the axial direction L can be held by the pair of side surfaces 32, 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B.
[0049] Next, a bolt 15 having a head 15a is inserted from the side of the first flange 11A into the first bolt opening 13 of the first flange 11A and the second bolt opening 14 of the second flange 12A.
[0050] Next, a nut 16 is attached to the side of the bolt 15 on the second flange 12B side, and the nut 16 is tightened with respect to the bolt 15. By doing this, the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A can be firmly fixed.
[0051] In this case, a bolt-side washer 21 is inserted in advance on the side of the head 15a of the bolt 15. By tightening the bolt 15 with the nut 16, the stopper washer 22 of the bolt-side washer 21 engages with the corresponding side surface 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B. At the same time, the water-stop washer 23 approaches the side of the first bolt opening 13 of the first flange 11A without engaging with the side surface 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B. As a result, the water-stop ring 24 provided on the water-stop washer 23 enters the first bolt opening 13 of the first flange 11A, and the inside of the first bolt opening 13 can be reliably sealed by this water-stop ring 24.
[0052] Similarly, a nut-side washer 25 is pre-inserted on the nut 16 side of the bolt 15, and when the bolt 15 is tightened with the nut 16, the stopper washer 26 of the nut-side washer 25 engages with the corresponding side surfaces 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B. At the same time, the water-seal washer 27 approaches the second bolt opening 14 side of the second flange 12A without engaging with the side surfaces 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B. As a result, the water-seal ring 28 provided on the water-seal washer 27 enters the second bolt opening 14 of the second flange 12A, and this water-seal ring 28 can reliably seal the inside of the second bolt opening.
[0053] As described above, according to this embodiment, a bolt 15 is inserted into the first bolt opening 13 of the first flange 11A and the second bolt opening 14 of the second flange 12A, and the bolt 15 is tightened with a nut 16. As a result, the stopper washer 22 of the bolt-side washer 21 engages with one side surface 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B from the outside in the axial direction L, and the stopper washer 26 of the nut-side washer 25 engages with the other side surface 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B from the outside in the axial direction L. As a result, the stopper washers 22 and 26 can be engaged with the side surfaces 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B from the outside in the axial direction L. Therefore, the rubber ring 33 provided on the outer circumference of the joint 40 between the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A, and the split housings 30A and 30B that hold this rubber ring 33, do not move along the axial direction L from the joint 40 or detach from the joint 40 along the axial direction L.
[0054] Therefore, the joint 40 between the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A can be reliably sealed by the rubber ring 33.
[0055] Furthermore, the watertight washer 23 on the bolt side washer 21 on the first flange 11A side has a smaller outer diameter than the stopper washer 22. As a result, the watertight washer 23 approaches the first bolt opening 13 side of the first flange 11A without engaging with the side surfaces 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B. This allows the watertight ring 24 provided on the watertight washer 23 to effectively enter the first bolt opening 13 of the first flange 11A, thereby sealing the first bolt opening 13 with the watertight ring 24.
[0056] Furthermore, the watertight washer 27 on the nut side washer 25 on the second flange 12A side has a smaller outer diameter than the stopper washer 26. As a result, the watertight washer 27 approaches the second bolt opening 14 side of the second flange 12A without engaging with the side surfaces 32 of the split housings 30A and 30B. This allows the watertight ring 28 provided on the watertight washer 27 to effectively enter the second bolt opening 14 of the second flange 12A, thereby sealing the second bolt opening 14 with the watertight ring 28.
[0057] In this way, the bolt-side washer 21 and nut-side washer 25 provided on the bolt 15 simultaneously provide the functions of preventing the split housings 30A and 30B that hold the rubber ring 33 from moving or detaching along the axial direction L, and sealing the first bolt opening 13 and the second bolt opening 14.
[0058] Therefore, it is not necessary to provide separate mechanisms to prevent the split housings 30A and 30B from moving or detaching along the axial direction L, and to seal the first bolt opening 13 and the second bolt opening 14, thereby simplifying the structure and installation work.
[0059] Furthermore, the rubber ring 33 has a first lip 33a that abuts against the outer circumference of the first flange 11A and a second lip 33b that abuts against the outer circumference of the second flange 12A, and a space 33c is formed between the first lip 33a and the second lip 33b. Therefore, if a fluid such as water leaks from the joint 40 between the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A, the fluid flows into the space 33c of the rubber ring 33, increasing the internal pressure of the space 33c. As the internal pressure of the space 33c increases, the first lip 33a and the second lip 33b can strongly press against the outer circumference of the first flange 11A and the outer circumference of the second flange 12A. In this way, the joint 40 between the first flange 11A and the second flange 12A can be reliably sealed by the rubber ring 33.
