U-Channel Coaxial F-Connector

An F-connector for a coaxial cable comprises a front insulator, a back insulator, a connecting lead, and a locking ring. The connecting lead has an interior portion and an exterior portion. The interior portion is configured with a pair of side wall portions which are parallel to each other, and which together with a bottom portion form a U-shaped channel. The side wall portions each comprise a curved portion that are configured to grip the center conductor of the coaxial cable so as to withstand a certain level of withdrawal force, and such that the F-connector exhibits a desired impedance of 75 Ohms. The connecting lead engages with the front insulator and the back insulator such that the components are held in position within a connector body.

Micro pin grid array with wiping action

A microelectronic package includes a mounting structure, a microelectronic element associated with the mounting structure, and a plurality of conductive posts physically connected to the mounting structure and electrically connected to the microelectronic element. The conductive posts project from the mounting structure in an upward direction, at least one of the conductive posts being an offset post. Each offset post has a base connected to the mounting structure, the base of each offset post defining a centroid. Each offset post also defines an upper extremity having a centroid, the centroid of the upper extremity being offset from the centroid of the base in a horizontal offset direction transverse to the upward direction. The mounting structure is adapted to permit tilting of each offset post about a horizontal axis so that the upper extremities may wipe across a contact pad of an opposing circuit board.

Connector

An electrical connector (100) comprising a male (120) and female (150) part, each part (120, 150) having a magnet (135, 165) adapted to attract the parts (120, 150) together to make a connection. The parts (120, 150) can connect at any relative rotational orientation and preferred embodiments prevent offset connection between the magnets (135, 165) or parts (120, 150). The connector (100) is particularly suited for use in out of reach locations, for example to easily and safely replace light bulbs into sockets suspended from a ceiling.

Portable patient monitoring system including location identification capability

A docking station advantageously provides a location identifier to a portable processing device which processes the location identifier to determine docking station location (and other information) and to upload settings and configuration information related to an identified location which is retained until a different docking station location is encountered. In a system for use in a docking station suitable for attaching to a portable patient monitoring device for processing signal parameters acquired from a patient, a power coupler couples power to provide electrical power to a portable processing device. An adaptive communication interface, in a first mode of operation, communicates an identifier associated with a particular docking station to the portable processing device, and in a second mode of operation, establishes connection of the portable processing device to a network.

Contact element for shielded connectors

In order to connect the shielding (62) of an electric cable (6) to a metallic connector (7), the invention proposes an electrically non-conductive cable guide part (1) that features a wall segment (2) of an electrically conductive material that needs to be laterally open sectionally. In this case, the shielding (62) of the electric cable (6) lying in the interior (12) is connected to a corresponding mating connector by means of the wall segment (2) and an electrically conductive connector sleeve (31) surrounding the connector.

Click-Tight Coaxial Cable Continuity Connector

A click-tight coaxial cable continuity connector is provided comprising a connector body, a post engageable with connector body, the post including a flange having a plurality of spaced-apart surface features. A nut is rotatably movable with respect to the post, wherein the nut includes an internal lip having a plurality of spaced-apart surface features, wherein the plurality of spaced-apart surface features of the nut are dimensioned to oppositely correspond in size, number and location to the plurality of spaced-apart surface features of the post. A click-tight continuity member is structurally configured to operably correspond with the dimensions of the plurality of spaced-apart surface features of the nut and also the spaced apart surface features of the post, the click-tight continuity member residing between the nut and the post. When the nut is rotated with respect to the post, the click-tight continuity member affords intermittent rotational resistance upon the nut, via structurally-induced compression forces resultant when the plurality of spaced-apart surface features of the nut are not oppositely correspondingly aligned with the plurality of spaced-apart surface features of the post.

Coaxial cable connector with grounding member

A coaxial cable connector includes tubular post, a coupler secured over an end of the tubular post for securing the connector to an appliance, and an outer body secured to the tubular post. An electrical grounding path is maintained between the coupler and the tubular post whether or not the coupler is tightly fastened to the appliance. The electrical grounding path is provided by a resilient, electrically-conductive grounding member disposed between the tubular post and the coupler. Alternatively, the connector includes conductive grease at a point where mating portions of the tubular post and coupler have closely matching dimensions.

System, method and apparatus for selecting content from web sources and posting content to web logs

A method, system and apparatus for selecting, displaying, managing, tracking tagging and transferring access to specific content of Internet web pages and other sources, permitting the user or recipient to navigate quickly to a source of a content item in the custom selection, and posting content to web logs. A method and system of assisted content selection provides temporary borders around content items on mouseover; of Dynamic Content Display provides updating of selected content items; of Content Marks allows users to tag specific content items in web pages with a keyword or keywords, store a definition of the content item along with the keyword(s), and then search the stored definitions using search keywords; and a method of Multiple Clip Mode allows users to select specific content items from disparate source web pages and then tag, save, search, retrieve and print the selection.

Electromechanical connector

The electromechanical connector proposed has a switch and an actuator. The switch can be connected by means of contacts to a power supply and has switching magnets with encoded magnetic elements mounted on a carriage. It is fitted in a housing as an enclosed unit. The actuator has actuation magnets with encoded magnetic elements and can be connected to a consumer. The switch can be connected to the actuator, connecting these two devices causing the switching magnets to move, against a restraining force, from an inoperative position to an operating position. The electrical connection between the switch and the actuator is thus established by means of contacts. The ends of the switch and actuator facing each other are fitted with alignment devices designed so that electrical contact between the switch and the actuator can only be made when the contacts are in a particular position with respect to each other.
