AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Traditional radar technology is costly and inflexible for diverse sensing services, and the implementation of integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) for accurate and timely sensing measurements is unclear.

Method used

A first device receives a configuration for relaxing sensing measurements by performing them over longer cycles, reducing time window duration, extending periodicity, or decreasing the number of cells, carriers, or resources to be measured, while a second device transmits configurations or indications for enabling or disabling relaxation based on specific conditions.

Benefits of technology

This approach reduces power consumption and signaling overhead, enabling flexible and efficient sensing measurement relaxation in ISAC systems.

Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to communication for sensing measurement. In one aspect, upon reception of a configuration of a sensing measurement relaxation, the first device may perform the sensing measurement relaxation based on the configuration by at least one of the following: performing the sensing measurement over a longer measurement cycle; reducing a duration of a time window of the sensing measurement; extending a periodicity of the time window; reducing number of neighboring cells or TRPs that need to be measured; or reducing number of carriers or BWPs or resources or beams that need to be measured. In this way, a sensing measurement relaxation may be carried out.
