Abstract

The present disclosure relates to an electronic device for touch recognition, and a method for operating the electronic device for touch recognition. The electronic device according to one embodiment may comprise: at least one light source; a camera; a memory; and a processor. The at least one processor can: acquire, on the basis of first frame data acquired using the at least one light source and the camera, a spatial location of a reference object for defining a touch region; define the touch region on the basis of the spatial location of the reference object; use the at least one light source and the camera so as to selectively capture the touch region, thereby acquiring second frame data; identify the location of a touch input object on the basis of the second frame data; and generate a touch input signal corresponding to the location of the touch input object. Each of the first frame data and the second frame data can include image data for at least one frame.
