Sedation device. The sedation device includes: a housing; the housing having a ventilator chamber and a juxtaposed vaporizer chamber; a filter installed between the ventilator chamber and the vaporizer chamber, forming a common breathable partition wall; the ventilator chamber having an inlet; the vaporizer chamber having an outlet for connection to a patient's breathing tube; and an vaporizer installed within the vaporizer chamber, wherein the inlet is positioned to guide air through the surface of the filter in the ventilator chamber and has an air guide ramp angled relative to the inlet and flared outward away from the inlet to guide incoming air inward from the inlet toward the filter and outward from the inlet through the surface of the filter; an elongated air distribution fin is installed on the outer wall of the ventilator chamber, aligned with the inlet at the inner end of the air guide ramp and extending away from the air guide ramp; the air distribution fin is perpendicular to the outer wall and located at the center of the outer wall, aligned with the inlet; the air distribution fin has a sharp leading edge facing the inlet.
