Abstract

This invention discloses the application of circFBXW4 in the preparation of drugs for treating stroke. circFBXW4 inhibits FUS aggregation after ischemic stroke by binding to and adsorbing fibrinogen (FUS), increasing the free form of FUS, thereby upregulating the expression of downstream target protein HECTD1 and its ubiquitinated substrate IQGAP1, and subsequently inhibiting astrocyte activation. This invention systematically elucidates for the first time the mechanism of action of circFBXW4 in stroke, and makes circFBXW4 a promising candidate as a novel biomarker and molecular therapeutic target for the clinical treatment of acute ischemic stroke.
