Abstract

This application relates to a cholesteric liquid crystal display device and a scanning driving method thereof. The application provides a scanning driving method for a cholesteric liquid crystal display device, wherein the cholesteric liquid crystal display device includes a cholesteric liquid crystal display panel and a driving circuit section, and the cholesteric liquid crystal display panel includes multiple scan lines, each scan line having multiple pixel circuits. The method includes: executing a specific scanning program using the driving circuit section to sequentially activate the scan lines, wherein for each activated scan line, the specific scanning program includes at least a first stage, and the first stage includes a first period, a second period, and a third period arranged sequentially; and during the third period of the first stage, using the driving circuit section to apply a bright-state voltage curve and a dark-state voltage curve respectively to the pixel circuits located on the first activated scan line using a first voltage amplitude and a second voltage amplitude. The first voltage amplitude is lower than the second voltage amplitude.
