Abstract

The present invention relates to an adapter for a control valve of a process plant, such as a chemical plant, a power plant, a food processing plant or the like, which has a valve housing carrying a process fluid and a housing cover or lantern, as well as a valve element movable between a closed position in which it prevents process fluid flow through the valve housing and an open position in which process fluid flow through the valve housing is enabled, comprising a cover- or lantern-side mounting interface for connecting to the cover or lantern, and a valve housing-side mounting interface for connecting to the valve housing, characterized by at least one sensor integrated into the adapter or a measure for connecting to at least one sensor for detecting a process fluid and / or operating-related parameter of the control valve.
