AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Existing systems for damping impulses on track rollers are not optimal, leading to potential damage and reduced service life due to inadequate absorption of radial impulses.
Method used
A damping pad made of elastic material with recesses on its engagement surface is used to absorb and dissipate impulse energy more effectively, allowing for better deformation and longer service life.
Benefits of technology
The damping pad effectively reduces the load on track rollers by dissipating impulse energy, thereby extending the service life of the rollers and preventing damage.

Abstract
The invention relates to a method for damping an impulse on a track roller, and to a damping pad according to the invention. In the method, a track roller, which rotates about a vertical axis on a rail, comes into engagement with a damping pad, which is arranged tangentially to the circumference of the track roller and is made of elastic material, when a radially acting impulse occurs. In order to improve the damping of the impulses during the action on the track roller, it is provided that the damping pad engagement surface facing the track roller has recesses and, when an impulse occurs, the damping pad is firstly deformed into a recess.
