Abstract
The present invention relates to the preparation of boron-containing alumina formed from a boehmite gel, in which at least one boron source is added in the precipitation step(s) of at least one aluminum salt to form a boehmite gel. The boron-containing alumina according to the invention, due to its advantageous properties, can be used as a catalyst support in all refining processes as well as an adsorbent, particularly for catalytic processes treating hydrocarbon fractions such as vacuum hydrotreating of distillates.
