Abstract

The article to which the design relates relates to a knuckle support for combat sports. Conventional knuckle supports consist of flat components covering the second to fifth metacarpal bones and the joint between the second and fifth proximal phalanges (called the knuckle in combat sports), which made the proximal phalanges of the index finger and little finger susceptible to damage. The design was devised to improve upon the shortcomings of conventional knuckle supports. As shown in Reference Photos 1 and 2, the components covering the second to fifth metacarpal bones and the joint between the second and fifth proximal phalanges (called the knuckle in combat sports) curve the area near the end of the index finger toward the thumb to cover the side of the index finger, and curve the area near the end of the little finger to cover the side of the little finger, thereby enhancing safety for the knuckle and both sides of the knuckle.
