Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] FIELD Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to the field of communications technologies, and more particularly, to a method, apparatus, and medium for reference signal (RS) configuration. [Background technology]
[0002] Wireless communication networks have been widely deployed and can support various kinds of service applications for terminal devices (i.e., user equipment (UE)). Numerous communication methods have been proposed to support the rapidly growing data traffic. For example, to meet the increasing demand for wireless data traffic, multiple methods have been proposed and implemented. Among them, Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology is considered as one of the powerful methods to achieve high data throughput in communication systems. MIMO refers to a type of wireless transmission and reception method in which both the transmitter and receiver use multiple antennas.
[0003] Generally, RS transmission is required for wireless communication. Furthermore, an RS used for demodulating data or control signals is called a demodulation (DM) RS, and an RS used for sounding the uplink channel is called a sounding RS (SRS). In Release 17 of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), several enhancements to RS transmission were discussed. The upcoming 3GPP Release 18 is expected to further discuss details and enhancements of RS transmission. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0078] Since the maximum number of CS values for 4-port SRS transmission is 6, the CS values of ports #0 and #2 are the same as the CS values of ports #1 and #3, which leads to the degradation of peak to average power ratio (PAPR) performance. Therefore, it is expected to improve the PAPR performance of 4-port SRS transmission on comb structure resources with comb value 8.
[0079] Additionally, several enhancements regarding SRS and DMRS transmissions were considered in Release 17. For example, several goals were proposed: Enhanced SRS functionality for both frequency range (FR) 1 and FR2 - Demonstrates SRS switching for up to 8 antennas - Evaluate and, if necessary, specify the following mechanisms to extend SRS capability and / or coverage: SRS time bundling, increased SRS repetition, partial sounding across frequencies. Enhanced DMRS functionality for both FR1 and FR2 - Consider a larger number of orthogonal DMRS ports for downlink and uplink MU-MIMO (without increasing DMRS overhead) and specify the number if appropriate. - Up to 24 orthogonal DMRS ports. For each applicable DMRS type, the maximum number of orthogonal ports is doubled for both single-symbol DMRS and double-symbol DMRS.
[0080] In summary, the number of antenna ports for both SRS and DMRS transmissions is increased. In this case, it is desirable to discuss the transmission configuration of SRS and DMRS with the increased number of antenna ports.
[0081] According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, configuration for RS (including SRS and DMRS) is increased, which solves at least some of the above problems.
[0082] It should be understood that the above problems are merely illustrative and do not imply any limitation, and none of the concerns and problems addressed by this disclosure are limited to the problems set forth above.

In the following, some operations are described from the perspective of the terminal device 120, but it should be understood that the corresponding operations should be performed by the network device 110. Similarly, some operations are described from the perspective of the network device 110, but it should be understood that the corresponding operations should be performed by the terminal device 120. For the sake of brevity, some identical or similar content is omitted herein.
[0097] Furthermore, in the following description, several interactions are performed between terminal device 120 and network device 110. It should be understood that the interactions may be performed in either one single signaling / message or multiple signaling / messages, including system information (SI), RRC messages, downlink control information (DCI) messages, uplink control information (UCI) messages, media access control (MAC) control elements (CEs), etc. The present disclosure is not limited in this respect.
[0098] Exemplary processes for different scenarios are discussed below.
[0099] Example process of 4-port SRS transmission As described above, the limitation of the maximum number of CS values leads to degradation of the PAPR performance of the 4-port SRS transmission. According to some example embodiments of the present disclosure, the CS setting of the 4-port SRS transmission is improved, thereby improving the PAPR performance.
[0100] The principles and implementations of the present disclosure are described in detail below with reference to Figures 2A and 2B. Figure 2A illustrates a signaling chart showing a process 200 of communication according to some exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, while Figure 2B illustrates an example of antenna port mapping 250 according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. For discussion purposes, the process 200 is described with reference to Figure 1. The process 200 may involve a terminal device 120 and a network device 110.
[0101] In the specific example of FIGS. 2A and 2B, SRS transmission by four antenna ports (ports #0 to #3) is set in the comb structure resources with a comb value of 8.
[0102] During operation, the terminal device 120 determines at least one CS for a four-port SRS transmission (220-1), while the network device 110 accordingly determines at least one CS (220-2). Based on the determined at least one CS, the terminal device 120 transmits an SRS transmission to the network device 110 (230).
[0103] In particular, the at least one CS includes at least one first CS and at least one second CS, where the at least one first CS corresponds to a first set of four antenna ports (or at least one first RE configured for SRS transmission), and the at least one second CS corresponds to a second set of four antenna ports (or at least one second RE configured for SRS transmission). According to some example embodiments of the present disclosure, the at least one second CS is different from the at least one first CS.
[0104] TIFF2025506475000005.tif65168
[0105] In this way, the PAPR performance of the 4-port SRS is enhanced. Please refer now to Figure 2C, which shows the CCDF of the PAPR 280 of the 4-port SRS transmission. As shown in Figure 2C, the PAPR performance is enhanced compared to the conventional solution.
[0106] In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 (and the network device 110) determines an offset value for calculating either the at least one first CS or the at least one second CS such that the at least one second CS is different from the at least one first CS.
[0107] In some embodiments, the offset value may be defined as a default value. Specifically, the default value may be defined by a wireless organization (e.g., 3GPP), or a network operator, a service provider, etc. Alternatively, the offset value may be configured by the network device 110. As shown in FIG 2A, the network device 110 transmits 210 a configuration indicating the offset to the terminal device 120, such as via an RRC message, a DCI message, a MAC CE message, or any suitable message.

[0110] TIFF2025506475000008.tif27168
[0111] It should be appreciated that the specific embodiment described above (in which a parameter offset is introduced) is merely for illustrative purposes and does not imply any limitation. In other exemplary embodiments, any suitable parameter may be introduced. The present disclosure is not limited in this respect.
[0112] Example process of 8-port SRS transmission As mentioned above, in the upcoming 3GPP Release 18, the number of antenna ports for SRS transmission is expected to increase up to 8. According to some example embodiments of the present disclosure, methods for mapping 8 antenna ports according to different comb structures are discussed in detail.
[0113] In some embodiments, terminal device 120 (and network device 110) maps the eight antenna ports of the SRS resources to the comb structure resources according to the comb values of the comb structure resources.
[0114] Generally, if the CS values at each comb offset are different, the PAPR performance is best, and if the CS values at at least two comb offset values are different, the PAPR performance is better than if all CS values at the comb offsets are the same. In this regard, according to some example embodiments of the present disclosure, at least two sets of REs based on at least two comb offset values are associated with different CSs (or different CS sets). In other words, at least two portions of the eight antenna ports are associated with different CSs (or different CS sets). Then, the terminal device 120 transmits SRS transmissions on the comb structure resources. In this way, different REs (i.e., different portions of the eight antenna ports, or different comb offsets) can be associated with different CSs, thereby ensuring the PAPR performance.
[0115] In some embodiments, the at least two REs are the two adjacent / closest REs, in this way PAPR performance can be optimized even when there are not enough CSs to ensure that each RE is associated with a different CS from all other REs.
[0116] In some embodiments, the comb value of the comb structure resource is one of the following {2, 4, 8, 12}. Furthermore, the association between the comb value and the maximum number of CS values is predefined. Specifically, when the comb value of the comb structure resource is 2, the maximum number of CS values is 8, when the comb value of the comb structure resource is 4, the maximum number of CS values is 12, and when the comb value of the comb structure resource is 8, the maximum number of CS values is 6.
[0117] TIFF2025506475000009.tif50168
[0118] Below, we will discuss several specific examples with different comb values one by one.
[0119] If the com value is 2 In some embodiments, the comb value of the comb structure resource is 2 (i.e., K TC =2), the terminal device 120 (and the network device 110) maps a first portion of the eight antenna ports to a first set of REs based on a first comb offset, and the first portion of the eight antenna ports is associated with a first CS set. Further, the terminal device 120 (and the network device 110) maps a second portion of the eight antenna ports to a second set of REs based on a second comb offset, and the second portion of the eight antenna ports is associated with a second CS set. In particular, the second CS set is different from the first CS set.
[0120] In one specific exemplary embodiment, the first CS set may be {n_CS, (n_CS+2) mod 8, (n_CS+4) mod 8, (n_CS+6) mod 8} and the second CS set may be {(n_CS+cs_offset) mod 8, (n_CS+2+cs_offset) mod 8, (n_CS+4+cs_offset) mod 8, (n_CS+6+cs_offset) mod 8}. Furthermore, cs_offset may be 0 or 1. Furthermore, the first comb offset may be different from the second comb offset. In one example, the first comb offset and the second comb offset may be 0 and 1, respectively. In another example, the first comb offset and the second comb offset may be 1 and 0, respectively.
[0121] Please refer now to Figure 3A. Figure 3A illustrates an example of an antenna port mapping 300 for comb value 2, in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0122] TIFF2025506475000010.tif96168
[0123] Alternatively, in some other embodiments, the comb value of the comb structure resource is 2 (i.e., K TC =2), the terminal device 120 (and the network device 110) maps a first portion of the eight antenna ports to a first set of REs based on a first comb offset, and the first portion of the eight antenna ports is associated with a first CS set. Further, the terminal device 120 (and the network device 110) maps a second portion of the eight antenna ports to a second set of REs based on a second comb offset, and the second portion of the eight antenna ports is associated with a second CS set. In particular, the second CS set is the same as the first CS set.
[0124] In one specific exemplary embodiment, the first CS set and the second CS set may be {n_CS, (n_CS+2) mod 8, (n_CS+4) mod 8, (n_CS+6) mod 8}. Furthermore, the first comb offset may be different from the second comb offset. In one example, the first comb offset and the second comb offset may be 0 and 1, respectively. In another example, the first comb offset and the second comb offset may be 1 and 0, respectively.
[0125] TIFF2025506475000011.tif95168
[0126] Alternatively, in some other embodiments, the comb value of the comb structure resource is 2 (i.e., K TC = 2), the terminal device 120 (and the network device 110) maps the eight antenna ports to the same set of REs based on the comb offset. In some other embodiments, the comb offset may be 0 or 1. Furthermore, each antenna port of the eight antenna ports is associated with a respective CS. In one specific exemplary embodiment, the CSs of the eight antenna ports may be n_CS, (n_CS+1) mod 8, (n_CS+2) mod 8, (n_CS+3) mod 8, (n_CS+4) mod 8, (n_CS+5) mod 8, (n_CS+6) mod 8, (n_CS+7) mod 8, respectively.
[0127] TIFF2025506475000012.tif70168
[0128] TIFF2025506475000013.tif26168
[0129] Alternatively, in some embodiments, the eight antenna port mapping may be implemented with two sets of four antenna ports. In other words, the eight port SRS mapping is composed of two four port SRS mappings. In this case, an additional comb offset (which may be "1") and / or an additional CS offset (which may be "1") may be introduced for the second set of four ports of any antenna port.
[0130] TIFF2025506475000014.tif58168
[0131] In the specific exemplary embodiment described above, some rules and parameters are defined or implemented for antenna port mapping. It should be clarified that such rules and parameters may be defined by default. In particular, such rules and parameters may be specified by a wireless organization (e.g., 3GPP), a network operator, a service provider, etc. Alternatively, such rules and parameters may be configured by the network device 110 via an RRC message, a DCI message, a MAC CE message, or any suitable message, etc.
[0132] If the com value is 4 In some embodiments, the comb value of the comb structure resource is 4 (i.e., K TC = 4), the terminal device 120 (and the network device 110) maps the four antenna port sets of the eight antenna ports to four different sets of REs based on the four comb offset values. In particular, each antenna port set of the four antenna port sets includes two antenna ports, and different antenna port sets of the four antenna port sets or different sets of REs may be associated with different CS sets.
[0133] Please refer now to Figure 3C. Figure 3C illustrates an example of antenna port mapping 320 for a comb value of 4, in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0134] TIFF2025506475000015.tif93168
[0135] In some embodiments, the first value of the comb offset, the second value of the comb offset, the third value of the comb offset, and the fourth value of the comb offset may be at least one of {0, 1, 2, 3}. Further, in some embodiments, the first value of the comb offset, the second value of the comb offset, the third value of the comb offset, and the fourth value of the comb offset may be different from each other. In some embodiments, the first value of the comb offset may be represented as k1. For example, k1 may be at least one of {0, 1, 2, 3}. In some embodiments, the second value of the comb offset may be represented as (k1+1) mod K TC Alternatively, in some other embodiments, the second value of the comb offset may be (k1+2) mod K TC In some embodiments, the third value of the comb offset may be (k1+2) mod K TC Alternatively, in some other embodiments, the third value of the comb offset may be (k1+1) mod K TC In some embodiments, the fourth value of the comb offset may be (k1+3) mod K TC may be also possible.
[0136] In some embodiments, the parameter "cs_offset 1 / cs_offset 2 / cs_offset 3" may be one of {0,1,2,3,4,5}. In some embodiments, cs_offset 1, cs_offset 2, and cs_offset 3 may be different from each other. Alternatively, cs_offset 1 may be the same as cs_offset 3, while cs_offset 2 may be 0. For example, cs_offset 1 and / or cs_offset 3 may be 3, and cs_offset 2 may be 0. Furthermore, the values of cs_offset1 and / or cs_offset2 and / or cs_offset3 may be pre-determined or configured via DCI and / or MAC CE and / or RRC.
[0137] Alternatively, in some embodiments, the comb value of the comb structure resource is 4 (i.e., K TC = 4), the terminal device 120 (and the network device 110) maps the two antenna port sets of eight antenna ports to two different sets of REs based on the first and second comb offsets. In particular, each antenna port set of the two antenna port sets includes four antenna ports, and different antenna port sets of the two antenna port sets or different sets of REs may be associated with different CS sets.
[0138] TIFF2025506475000016.tif60168
[0139] In the specific exemplary embodiment described above, several rules and parameters (cs_offset, cs_offset 1, cs_offset 2, cs_offset 3) are defined or introduced for antenna port mapping. It is to be clarified that such rules and parameters may be defined by default.
[0140] If the com value is 8 In some embodiments, the comb value of the comb structure resource is 8 (i.e., K TC = 8), then terminal device 120 (and network device 110) may map 8 antenna ports to REs based on the 8 comb offset values. See now FIG. 3D, which illustrates an example of antenna port mapping 340 for comb value 8, in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0143] In some embodiments, a scenario in which the same CS value is associated with all comb offsets (i.e., all antenna ports) should be avoided. It should be understood that the example sets of CS values provided above are for illustrative purposes only and do not imply any limitations. Other example embodiments may define other sets of CS values. The present disclosure is not limited in this respect.
[0144] In some embodiments, the comb value of the comb structure resource is 8 (i.e., K TC = 8), the terminal device 120 (and the network device 110) may map the two antenna port sets of eight antenna ports to two different sets of REs based on the first comb offset and the second comb offset. In particular, each antenna port set of the two antenna port sets includes four antenna ports, and different antenna port sets of the two antenna port sets or different sets of REs may be associated with different CS sets.
[0145] In some embodiments, the first value of the comb offset and the second value of the comb offset may be one of {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7}. In some embodiments, the first value of the comb offset may be different from the second value of the comb offset. In one specific exemplary embodiment, the first value of the comb offset may be represented as k1, where k1 may be one of {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7}, and the second value of the comb offset may be (k1+4) mod K. In particular, each antenna port set of the four antenna port sets includes two antenna ports, and different antenna port sets of the four antenna port sets or different sets of REs may be associated with different CS sets.
[0148] In some embodiments, any of the first comb offset value, the second comb offset value, the third comb offset value, and the fourth comb offset value may be one of {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7}. In one specific exemplary embodiment, the first comb offset value, the second comb offset value, the third comb offset value, and the fourth comb offset value may be different from each other. [0150] TIFF2025506475000019.tif93168
[0151] In some embodiments, the parameters "cs_offset 1 / cs_offset 2 / cs_offset 3" may be one of {1,2}. In some embodiments, cs_offset 1, cs_offset 2, and cs_offset 3 may be different from each other. Alternatively, cs_offset 1 may be the same as cs_offset 3. Alternatively, cs_offset 2 may be 0. In one specific and exemplary embodiment, cs_offset 1 and / or cs_offset 3 may be 3 and / or cs_offset 2 may be 0. In another specific and exemplary embodiment, the values of cs_offset1 and / or cs_offset2 and / or cs_offset3 may be pre-determined or configured via DCI and / or MAC CE and / or RRC.
[0152] In the specific exemplary embodiment described above, several rules or parameters (cs_offset, cs_offset 1, cs_offset 2, cs_offset 3) may be defined or implemented for antenna port mapping. It is to be clarified that such rules or parameters may be defined by default. In particular, such rules or parameters may be specified by a wireless organization (e.g., 3GPP), a network operator, a service provider, etc. Alternatively, such rules or parameters may be configured by the network device 110 via an RRC message, a DCI message, a MAC CE message, or any suitable message, etc.
[0153] When to use TD-OCC In addition to the above, the mapping of eight antenna ports for SRS transmission can also be implemented by using TD-OCC, which will be discussed in detail.
[0154] In some embodiments, terminal device 120 (and network device 110) maps the eight antenna ports of the SRS resource to multiple OFDM symbols by using at least one TD-OCC.
[0155] In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 (and the network device 110) may map eight antenna ports to two symbols based on TD-OCC=2. In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 (and the network device 110) may map eight antenna ports to two symbols combined with TD-OCC=2 by using a four-port SRS structure. Specifically, the terminal device 120 (and the network device 110) may map the first four antenna ports based on the TD-OCC of a first time and map the second four antenna ports based on the TD-OCC of a second time, where the length of the first and second TD-OCCs is two. In a specific exemplary embodiment, the first TD-OCC in the two symbols may be {1,1}, while the second TD-OCC in the two symbols may be {1,-1}. FIG. 4A illustrates an example of antenna port mapping 400 when the length of the TD-OCC is two, according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0156] TIFF2025506475000020.tif44168
[0157] In some embodiments, terminal device 120 (and network device 110) may map eight antenna ports to four symbols based on TD-OCC=4. Alternatively, in some other embodiments, terminal device 120 (and network device 110) may map eight antenna ports to four symbols combined with TD-OCC=4 by using a two-port SRS structure. Specifically, terminal device 120 (and network device 110) may map four antenna port sets of eight antenna ports based on four different TD-OCCs of length four, and each of the four antenna port sets may include two antenna ports. In a specific exemplary embodiment, the first TD-OCC in the four symbols may be {1,1,1,1}, the second TD-OCC in the four symbols may be {1,-1,1,-1}, the third TD-OCC in the four symbols may be {1,1,-1,-1} or {1,-1,-1,1}, and the fourth TD-OCC in the four symbols may be {1,-1,-1,1} or {1,1,-1,-1}. Figure 4B illustrates an example of antenna port mapping 450 when the TD-OCC length is four, according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0158] TIFF2025506475000021.tif109168
[0159] It should be clarified that the specific mapping methods shown in Figures 4A and 4B and the specific values of TD-OCC shown in Tables 2-4 are merely for illustrative purposes and do not imply any limitations. In other exemplary embodiments, other suitable mapping schemes for 4-port SRS structure / 2-port SRS structure and other suitable values of TD-OCC may be applied. The present disclosure is not limited in this respect.
[0160] Example process for enhancements regarding SRS capabilities / randomization In general, to obtain orthogonality (between partially overlapping SRSs) based on TD-OCC, the sequences at different symbols need to be the same, while sequence or group hopping is applied for interference randomization. Further enhancements to SRS capabilities / randomization are expected to be discussed in the upcoming 3GPP Release 18. Specifically, it is expected to define the following goals: > Capability: Support TD-OCC technology, while the sequences on different symbols should be designed to obtain orthogonality. > Randomization: Try to introduce dynamic / flexible randomization parameters, e.g. group and / or sequence hopping parameters.
[0161] According to some example embodiments of the present disclosure, the sequence of SRS antenna ports may be the same for OFDM symbols within the length of the TD-OCC, and the sequence of OFDM symbols outside / beyond one TD-OCC length can be different if group hopping or sequence hopping is used. In this way, a tradeoff between capacity requirements and randomization requirements is achieved.
[0162] In some embodiments, terminal device 120 (and network device 110) determines at least one sequence of the TD-OCC for a number of symbols (i.e., orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols). In particular, the sequence of SRS antenna ports used within a symbol period is the same, and the symbol period corresponds to a number of OFDM symbols based on the length of the TD-OCC.
[0163] Here, the terminal device 120 transmits an SRS transmission in multiple symbols to the network device 110 based on the determined at least one sequence and the at least one sequence of the TD-OCC.
[0164] In some embodiments, the at least one sequence of the TD-OCC may be determined based on multiple factors. One example of the factor is the length of the TD-OCC. Another example of the factor is a UE-specific parameter or a cell-specific parameter. A further example of the factor is a group hopping or sequence hopping interference randomization parameter.
[0165] In some embodiments, the length of the TD-OCC (denoted as TD) is taken into consideration when determining at least one sequence of the TD-OCC for each symbol.

[0178] Furthermore, in related solutions, the pseudo-random sequence for hopping of SRS groups and / or sequences is actually based on cell-specific parameters (e.g., slot index, symbol index). According to some example embodiments of the present disclosure, the interference randomization procedure can also be improved. In particular, an additional parameter (denoted as "R") may be introduced for group and / or sequence hopping to enhance inter-TRP cross-SRS interference.

[0182] Example Process for DMRS Type 1 Transmission As mentioned above, more orthogonal DMRS ports are expected to be introduced in the upcoming Release 18. [0190] In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 (and the network device 110) determines at least one CS for DMRS Type 1 transmission on more than eight antenna ports (e.g., 16 antenna ports). In particular, four CSs of the at least one CS are orthogonal to each other. In one specific exemplary embodiment, the CSs may be orthogonal to each other with a minimum orthonormal length of six.

[0196] In this way, orthogonality can be achieved within the RB.
[0197] Alternatively, in some embodiments, terminal device 120 (and network device 110) determines at least one CS for DMRS Type 1 transmission on more than eight antenna ports (e.g., 16 antenna ports). In particular, four CSs of the at least one CS are orthogonal to each other. In one specific exemplary embodiment, the CSs may be orthogonal to each other with a minimum orthonormal length of four.

[0199] TIFF2025506475000049.tif61168
[0200] In some embodiments, for the first portion (ports {0,1}, port {2,3}, port {4,5}, port {6,7}, etc.), the FD-OCC may be [1,1,1,1] and [1,-1,1,-1], while for the second portion (i.e., newly introduced antenna ports such as ports {8,9}, port {10,11}, port {12,13}, port {14,15}), the FD-OCC may be [1,1,-1,-1] and [1,-1,-1,1].
[0201] TIFF2025506475000050.tif115168
[0202] In this way, orthogonality can be achieved within four consecutive RBs.
[0203] In some embodiments, the orthonormal length may be dynamically determined based on the number of scheduled RBs. Specifically, in some embodiments, when the number of scheduled RBs is odd, the orthonormal length is 6, while when the number of scheduled RBs is even, the orthonormal length is 4.
[0204] In some embodiments, the network device 110 may generate a configuration, where the configuration indicates information regarding at least one antenna port for DMRS transmission and information regarding at least one CS value corresponding to the at least one antenna port. Furthermore, the configuration may be included in an RRC message, a DCI message, a MAC CE message, or any suitable message.

[0206] TIFF2025506475000052.tif104168
[0207] In this way, more flexibility can be achieved in scheduling DMRS transmissions based on different configurations / scheduling.
[0208] According to some example embodiments of this disclosure, a shorter orthonormal length may be achieved by sacrificing some transmission resources.
[0209] TIFF2025506475000053.tif180168
[0210] In this way, orthogonality can be achieved within RBs regardless of the number of scheduled RBs.
[0211] Example Process for DMRS Transmission Type 2 As mentioned above, more orthogonal DMRS ports are expected to be introduced in the upcoming Release 18. Specifically, the number of antenna ports for DMRS Type 2 transmission is expected to increase up to 24. A method for designing a CS according to some example embodiments of the present disclosure will be discussed in detail.
[0212] In some embodiments, terminal device 120 (and network device 110) determines at least one FD-OCC for DMRS Type 2 transmission over more than 12 antenna ports (e.g., 24 antenna ports). In particular, the at least one FD-OCC has a length of 4. Table 12 below shows a mapping structure for DMRS Type 2. Table 12 shows the mapping structure of DMRS type 2. [Table 1]
[0213] Table 13 below shows another mapping structure for DMRS Type 2. Table 13 shows the mapping structure of DMRS type 2. [Table 2]
[0214] In the above Table 13, the mapping structure of ports 1-11 is the same as the currently proposed mapping structure, thus achieving better backward compatibility.
[0215] Table 14 below shows a further mapping structure for DMRS Type 2. Table 14 shows the mapping structure of DMRS type 2. [Table 3]
[0216] In the above Table 14, the mapping structure for ports 1-11 is redefined. From this point on, such a DMRS transmission may be referred to as a new DMRS type, for example, DMRS Type 3.
[0217] According to the above exemplary process, more orthogonal DMRS ports can be achieved.
[0218] Example Process for Indicating DMRS Information To achieve more flexible scheduling and support more DMRS antenna ports, the network device 110 may indicate DMRS information to the terminal device 120 .
[0219] In some embodiments, the network device 110 may transmit the configuration for DMRS transmission to the terminal device 120. Further, the configuration may be included in an RRC message, a DCI message, a MAC CE message, or any appropriate message.
[0220] In some embodiments, the configuration indicates information about the length of the FD-OCC configured for at least one antenna port and corresponding to the at least one antenna port. In a specific exemplary embodiment, the configuration indicates information about one or more downlink DMRS ports and the length of the OCC (either TD-OCC or FD-OCC). By indicating the downlink DMRS port and the length of the OCC together, the terminal device can properly understand the interference cancellation information. For example, the first instruction indicates DMRS port (0,1) with FD-OCC=2, and the second instruction indicates DMRS port (0,1) with FD-OCC=4 (or CS value {0,6}). When the terminal device 120 receives the second instruction, the terminal device 120 understands that the current DMRS transmission will be performed on more DMRS ports. Then, the terminal device 120 may perform interference cancellation on the newly introduced DMRS ports.
[0221] Alternatively or additionally, in some other embodiments, the configuration indicates information regarding antenna port groups that are scheduled for DMRS transmission. Specifically, the concept of DMRS port groups may be introduced. For example, for DMRS type 1, there may be two groups: DMRS port group 1 for ports {0-7} and DMRS port group 2 for ports {8-15}. For DMRS type 2, there may be two groups: DMRS port group 1 for ports {0-11} and DMRS port group 2 for ports {12-23}.
[0222] After receiving the information about the DMRS port group, the DMRS port indication table may be applied accordingly, thereby reducing signaling overhead.
[0223] Example Process Showing Phase Tracking RS (PTRS) Currently, PTRS is introduced to enable compensation of oscillator phase noise. As mentioned above, the number of antenna ports for DMRS type 1 transmission is expected to increase up to 16, and the number of antenna ports for DMRS type 2 transmission is expected to increase up to 24. In this case, it is necessary to discuss how to configure PTRS resources (=PTRS ports) for the newly introduced antenna ports.
[0224] In some embodiments, a port of a PTRS may correspond to one or more DMRS ports, and the DMRS port to which the PTRS port is mapped may be indicated by information indicating the offset of the RE to which the PTRS is mapped, and this information may be included in the RRC message.
[0225] Tables 15 and 16 below show the association of DMRS antenna ports with RE offsets for DMRS Type 1 transmission. [Table 4] [Table 5] [Table 6]
[0226] In this way, the oscillator phase noise can be properly cancelled for the newly introduced DMRS antenna port.
