Abstract

Verschaft is a method for collecting and discharging foremilk in a milking system that comprises a milk cup, a vacuum system, a milk glass, and a control system. The milk cup comprises a cup sleeve containing teat liners and, within that, a teat chamber with a cup milk outlet opening, a connected milk collection chamber with a chamber milk outlet opening and a chamber vacuum opening, and a milk transport line with a milk drain valve. The vacuum system comprises a vacuum source with a pulsation line, a milk vacuum line on the chamber vacuum opening and an aeration cup, and a methane vacuum line connected to the milk glass. The vacuum system applies a pulsation vacuum, a milk vacuum in the milk vacuum line, and a milk transport vacuum in the milk line. The procedure involves attaching the milking cup, milking the first streams of milk from the teat, aerating the pulsation chamber, opening the milk discharge valve, and aerating the milk collection chamber by opening the aeration valve.Due to the large pressure difference between the milk transport vacuum and ambient pressure during aeration of the milk collection chamber, the foremilk is forcefully blown out of the milk collection chamber. A milking device for this procedure is also provided.
