Abstract

Method for determining the temperature history of wood that has been thermally modified in an environment of air, internal gas or vegetable oil with a temperature in the range of 110 to 300 °C, for 0.25 to 100 h and subsequently stabilized in air with a temperature of 0 to 105 °C, relative humidity of 0 to 100%, for 1 to 100,000 h. Determining the temperature history involves creating an equation of statistical dependence of the temperature history of the respective wood type on its electrical resistance. By substituting the electrical resistance of the wood whose temperature history is being determined, its temperature history is calculated. The statistical dependence equation is created so that at least 3 samples of the respective wood type are thermally modified in an identical environment, but each with a different temperature history in the range of 27.5 to 30,000 °C h. After thermal modification, the samples are stabilized, and their electrical resistance is subsequently measured. From the known values of temperature histories and electrical resistances, an equation of the statistical dependence of the temperature history on the electrical resistance of the respective wood species is created using the least squares method
