Abstract

A plastic bottle extrusion mechanism for 3D printing filament is a device that uses any previously used PET material that can be cut into strips (like plastic bottles, for example) and transforms it into recycled filament of a calibrated cross-section, serving as raw material for 3D plastic printers. It includes: - a station for manually cleaning the bottles to remove dirt, tickets, etc. If the bottle is deformed, it must be inflated with hot air to restore its original structure; - a gravity-driven ambient drying subsystem where the bottles are free of water droplets and the moisture they retain; - a strip-cutting subsystem using a stainless steel blade and manual stretching by the operator; - a heating subsystem using electric resistances and a heating block made of a material with high thermal conductivity. - an extrusion subsystem favoring the use of a nozzle with a cross-section equal to that of the filament, - a cooling subsystem using a fan or a series of fans mounted in series, or a water bath or multiple water baths, - an instrument for controlling or measuring the filament cross-section, - and a winding subsystem on a spool rotating at a speed calibrated by a speed controller and motor
