[0053] In some embodiments, there is a one-to-one mapping between the 5G VN group and the combination of DNN (Data Network Name) and S-NSSAI (Single -Network Slice Selection Assistance Information) , which is locally configured in the network. This means that when introducing one 5G VN group, the operator may define a new DNN or a new S-NSSAI.

[0054] In some scenario, e.g., power grid network, a big number of 5G VN groups may be deployed since each 5G VN group only covers a particular small area. However, it might be difficult for the operator to configure a specific DNN or specific S-NSSAI for each 5G VN group.

[0055] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, a method is provided to support a big number of 5G VN groups using the same DNN same S-NSSAI in the network.

[0056] FIG. 3 shows the 5G architecture for supporting 5G LAN (Local Area Network) VN group service, in which N19 interface is introduced to support traffic local switching within one UPF or among multiple UPFs serving one specific VN group according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0057] In some embodiments, the 5G architecture shown in FIG. 3, has the following network functions:

[0058] a) a User Equipment (UE) .

[0059] b) a Radio Access Network (RAN) (in 5G, it is a New Radio (NR) base station) .

[0060] c) Access and Mobility Management function (AMF) . This function includes the following functionalities: Registration management, Connection management, Reachability management and Mobility Management. This function also performs the access authentication and access authorization. The AMF is the NAS (Non-access stratum) security termination and relay the SM (Session Management) NAS between UE and SMF, etc.

[0061] d) a Session Management Function (SMF) , This function includes the following functionalities: session establishment, modification and release, UE IP address allocation and management (including optional authorization functions) , selection and control of UP function, downlink data notification, etc. The SMF controls the UPF via PFCP (Packet Forward Control Protocol) message (s) . For each PDU session, the SMF instructs the  UPF to establish a corresponding PFCP session. In 5G, the PFCP session on N4 interface is also called N4 session.

[0062] e) a User plane function (UPF) . This function includes the following functionalities: serving as an anchor point for intra- / inter-radio access technology (RAT) mobility, packet routing &forwarding, traffic usage reporting, QoS handling for the user plane, downlink packet buffering and downlink data notification triggering, etc. The UPF maybe deployed as I-UPF (Intermediate UPF) or PDU (Protocol Data Unit) Session Anchor (PSA) . The PSA / UPF is the UPF terminating the N6 interface towards the data network.

[0063] f) a Unified Data Management Function (UDM) . The UDM provides various kinds of subscription data of a UE, e.g., to the AMF for access and mobility management, or to the SMF for PDU session management, etc. The UDM also handles AMF registration from the AMF to record the serving AMF of a UE, or handles SMF registration from the SMF to record the PDU session information, etc.

[0064] g) a Policy Control Function (PCF) . The PCF provides QoS policy rules to control plane functions to enforce the rules. The PCF (s) transform (s) the AF requests into policies that apply to PDU Sessions. The PCF provide the AF influenced Traffic Steering Enforcement Control in PCC rules to the SMF so that the SMF can establish the data path to offload the traffic to local data network.

[0065] As illustrated in FIG. 3, the N19 interface is defined to support 5G VN group communication. The IP (Internet Protocol)  / Ethernet traffic between two 5G VN group members (i.e., two UEs belonging to the same 5G VN group) may not be forwarded to the Data Network (i.e., DN) via the N6 interface. Instead, such traffic will be detected by the UPF and locally switched to the destination UE within the UPF (s) serving the 5G VN group.

[0066] If only one PSA UPF is deployed to serve the 5G VN group members, a 5G VN internal interface (i.e., referred to as "5G VN Internal" interface, which is an internal N19 interface) is implemented with originating from and terminating to the UPF itself. If multiple UPFs are deployed to serve the 5G VN group members, an N19 interface (i.e., referred to as "N19" interface, which is an external N19 interface) between two UPFs as well as the 5G VN Internal interface inside each UPF are deployed. Based on the source address and destination address of IP / Ethernet packet, the UPF performs traffic detection and forwards the traffic via the internal N19 interface or via the external N19 interface towards another UE in the same 5G VN group, or via N6 interface towards the DN.

[0067] FIG. 4 illustrates the traffic local switching within one UPF using the "5G VN Internal" interface  (which is an internal N19 interface) , according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, wherein two UEs reside in the same PSA UPF. In this embodiment, the IP / Ethernet traffic from / to the UEs belonging to the same VN group are internally exchanged by the PSA UPF, via the "5G VN Internal” .

[0068] FIG. 5 illustrates the traffic local switching between different UPFs using external N19 interface according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, wherein one UE resides in one UPF while the other UE resides in another UPF. In this embodiment, the IP traffic (or Ethernet traffic) from / to the UEs belonging to the same VN group is exchanged between two UPFs serving same VN group, via external N19 interface.

[0069] There are some different traffic forwarding methods, including N6-based forwarding (which is traffic forwarding to outside DN (data network) ) , UPF local switching (which is the traffic forwarding inside one UPF as illustrated in FIG. 4) and N19-based forwarding (which is the traffic forwarding between two UPFs using the N19 interface as illustrated in FIG. 5) , to forward the traffic within the 5G VN group.

[0070] For the traffic forwarding methods described above, the traffic forwarding within the 5G VN group is realized by using a UPF internal interface ( "5G VN Internal" ) and a two-step detection and forwarding process. In the first step, the packets received from a 5G VN group member (e.g., a UE) (via it's PDU Session, via N6 interface or via N19 interface) are forwarded to the UPF internal interface (i.e., Destination Interface set to "5G VN Internal" ) . In the second step, based on the PDRs (Packet Detection Rules) installed at the UPF internal interface (i.e., Source Interface set to "5G VN Internal" ) , the UPF detects the packet and forward it to the respective 5G VN group member (via it's PDU Session, via N6 interface or via N19 interface) . If more than one 5G VN group is supported, the Network Instance set to a value representing the 5G VN group is used in addition to the UPF internal interface to enable the isolation of the 5G VN group communication during the packet detection and forwarding process.

[0071] In some embodiments, to support the two-step detection and forwarding model, a group-level N4 session may be established before individual N4 sessions for UEs within the 5G VN group. The PFCP (Packet Forwarding Control Protocol) rules generated for the group-level N4 session can be set as following:

[0072] - To forward incoming packets from the UPF itself (e.g., from the 5G VN internal interface) , at least a pair of PDR and FAR (Forward Action Rule) is configured. The Source Interface IE (information element) in the PDR may be set to "5G VN Internal" , while the Destination Interface IE in FAR may be set to one of the following: (a) set to "N6 interface" if the target UE does not belong to the same 5G VN group; (b) set to "N3 interface" or "N9 interface" if the target UE belongs to the same 5G VN group and it is served by the same UPF;  or (c) set to "N19" interface if the target UE belongs to the same 5G VN group while it is served by another UPF.

[0073] -To forward incoming packets from other UPF (e.g., from the external N19 interface) , at least a pair of PDR and FAR may be configured. The Source Interface IE in the PDR may be set to "N19 interface" , and the Destination Interface IE in the FAR may be set to "5G VN Internal" .

[0074] Correspondingly, in some embodiments, when generating PFCP rules for an individual N4 session of a UE belonging to the 5G VN group, the SMF generates the PFCP rules as following:

[0075] - To forward the uplink (UL) traffic from a UE in the VN group, at least a pair of UL PDR and associated FAR may be generated. The Source Interface IE in the UL PDR may be set to "access side" (e.g., "N3 interface" or "N9 interface" ) , and the Destination Interface in the associated FAR may be set to "5G VN Internal" .

[0076] - To forward the downlink (DL) traffic from other UE in the VN group, at least a pair of DL PDR and associated FAR may be generated. The Source Interface IE in the DL PDR may be set to "5G VN Internal" , and the Destination Interface in the associated FAR may be set to "access side" .

[0077] In some embodiments, on receiving the PFCP rules (e.g., PDR, FAR, etc. ) from the SMF, the UPF installs (i.e., stores the rules in its storage and schedules the rule execution) the PFCP rules and perform packet detection and forwarding according to the PFCP rules.

[0078] By setting the PDR rules and FAR rules, the individual N4 sessions are correlated to the group-level N4 session, so that the two-step packet detection and forwarding model can be proceeded.

[0079] FIG. 6 shows the PDU session establishment procedure with 5G VN Group communication configuration, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0080] In some embodiments, after the UE registers to the 5G network, the UE can request a PDU session establishment procedure, with the following operations:

[0081] In operation 1, the UE sends to the AMF a NAS Message (e.g., including the S-NSSAI (s) , UE Requested DNN, PDU Session ID, Request type, and / or N1 SM container (e.g., including the PDU Session Establishment Request) ) . The PDU Session Establishment Request is included in the NAS message and encapsulated in the N1 SM container. The NAS message sent by the UE is encapsulated by the RAN in a N2 message towards the AMF.

[0082] In operation 2, the AMF selects a proper SMF (i.e., an anchor SMF) to serve the PDU session,  based on the requested DNN, S-NSSAI, and the current UE location information. If the anchor SMF cannot serve the current location of the UE, the AMF may determine to select an I-SMF for the PDU session.

[0083] In operation 3a, the AMF sends to the SMF an Nsmf_PDUSession_CreateSMContext Request, which may include SUPI (Subscription Permanent Identifier) , selected DNN, UE requested DNN, S-NSSAI (s) , PDU Session ID, AMF ID, Request Type, N1 SM container (e.g., including a PDU Session Establishment Request) , User location information, Access Type, RAT (radio access technology) Type, PEI (permanent equipment identifier) , and / or GPSI (generic public subscription identifier) . The SUPI (Subscription Permanent Identifier) uniquely identifies the UE subscription. The AMF ID carries the GUAMI (Globally Unique AMF ID) uniquely identifying the AMF serving the UE. The selected DNN may be equal to the UE requested DNN as in operation 1 or may be derived from the UE requested DNN by DNN replacement functionality based on AMF and PCF interactions.

[0084] In operation 3b, the SMF sends to the AMF an Nsmf_PDUSession_CreateSMContext Response, which including the Cause and / or the SM (session management) Context ID. The SM Context ID identifies the SM context created in the SMF for the UE.

[0085] In operation 4a, the SMF sends a Subscription Retrieval Request message (i.e., Nudm_SDM_Get Request) to the UDM, to retrieve Session Management Subscription data.

[0086] In operation 4b, the UDM sends a Subscription Retrieval Response message (i.e., Numd_SDM_Get Response) to the SMF, carrying the Session Management Subscription data of the UE.

[0087] In some embodiments, if the UE belongs to one 5G VN group, the UDM returns shared 5G VN Group data together with the session management subscription data. The shared 5G VN Group data indicates the 5G VN group parameters associated with the DNN and S-NSSAI, and further indicates if the UE is associated with 5G VN Group communication. Using the shared 5G VN group data together with the 5G VN group configuration locally configured in the SMF, the SMF makes decision on how to set up the N4 session towards the UPF.

[0088] In operation 5, the anchor SMF selects an UPF acting as PSA (PDU session anchor) . The SMF uses the DNN, S-NSSAI and other necessary information to select an appropriate UPF to serve the PDU session and setup the N4 session.

[0089] In some embodiments, according to the DNN, S-NSSAI, and the subscription data from the UDM  for 5G VN Group, the SMF may determine if a 5G VN Group communication needs to be established for this UE.

[0090] In operation 6, the SMF requests the UPF to establish a group-level N4 session for the 5G VN Group communication, if such a group-level N4 session has not been established for the 5G VN group identified by the DNN and S-NSSAI. The SMF triggers a group-level N4 session establishment procedure at the time when the UPF is first selected to serve the 5G VN group, or at the time when the first 5G VN group member UE requests for a PDU session establishment. The SMF and UPF are both locally configured with the information of the one-to-one mapping between one specific 5G VN group and one combination of the DNN and S-NSSAI, to differentiate different group-level N4 session for different 5G VN groups. In some embodiments, one combination of the DNN and S-NSSAI may not be mapped to multiple 5G VN groups.

[0091] In some embodiments, the SMF generates a list of PFCP rules (e.g., PDR rules, FAR rules, etc. ) for the group-level N4 session. The PDR rules with Source Interface set to "5G VN Internal" are used to detect the traffic sent by individual N4 session to the group-level N4 session, and the FAR rules are used to forward the traffic to either N6 interface, N3 / N9 interface, or N19 interface based on the location of the destination (e.g., the target UE) .

[0092] In operation 7a, the SMF sends an N4 session establishment request message (i.e., a PFCP Session Establishment Request) to the UPF, to instruct the UPF to establish a PFCP session (i.e., an N4 session) for the UE requested PDU session. Within the request message, the DNN and S-NSSAI are provided to allow the UPF to identify the corresponding 5G VN group by the local configuration. If more than one 5G VN group is supported, the SMF also provides the Network Instance IE which is set to a value representing a specific 5G VN group.

[0093] In some embodiments, the SMF generates the PFCP rules for this N4 session. In some embodiments, the PFCP rules at least include a list of Packet Detection Rule (PDR) and a list of Forward Action Rule (FAR) applied to this N4 session.

[0094] In some embodiments, to support two-step packet detection forwarding, the SMF associates these PDR and / or FARs with the group-level N4 session mentioned in operation 6, by setting the Source Interface and / or Destination Interface in PDR and / or FAR to "5G VN internal" interface. On detecting the Source Interface IE or Destination Interface ID in PDR or FAR setting with "5G VN internal" interface, the UPF associates this N4 session with the group-level N4 session mentioned above.

[0095] According to the association between the N4 session of UE requested PDU session and the group-level N4 session established for the 5G VN group, the UPF can perform two-step packet detection and forwarding to support traffic local switching required by the 5G VN group communication.

[0096] In operation 7b, the UPF sends an N4 session establishment response back to the SMF. With the information of the local configuration and the SMF provided DNN / S-NSSAI / Network Instance, the UPF recognizes the N4 session is established for 5G VN Group communication. Thus, the UPF automatically associate this N4 session with the group-level N4 session mentioned in operation 6.

[0097] The PFCP rules (e.g., the detailed instruction of PDRs and FARs) provided by the SMF in operation 7a provides information on how to perform two-step packet detection and forwarding. Accordingly, when receiving uplink / downlink packet, the UPF performs two-step packet detection and forwarding as per instruction from the SMF, i.e., according to the PDRs / FARs and the indicated association with the group-level N4 session.

[0098] In operation 8, the SMF sends to the AMF an Namf_Communication_N1N2MessageTransfer Request, including the PDU Session ID, N2 SM information (e.g., including the PDU Session ID, QFI (s) (QoS (Quality of Service) Flow Identifier) , QoS Profile (s) , and / or N3 CN (core network) Tunnel Info) , and / or N1 SM container (e.g., including the PDU Session Establishment Accept) ) . The N2 SM information carries information that the AMF shall forward to the RAN, including the N3 CN Tunnel Info carrying I-UPF UL F-TEID (Fully qualified Terminal Endpoint Identifier) , the QFIs, and / or QoS profiles used by the RAN (Radio Access Network) to setup QoS flows. The N1 SM container contains the PDU Session Establishment Accept that the AMF shall send to the UE.

[0099] In operation 9, the AMF sends a NAS message (e.g., including the PDU Session ID and / or N1 SM container (including PDU Session Establishment Accept) ) to the UE. The NAS message is encapsulated in the N1 message and forwarded by the RAN to the UE.

[0100] FIG. 7 shows a PDU session establishment procedure for a 5G VN Group Communication according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0101] In some embodiments, the 5G VN Group ID is used to uniquely identify a specific 5G VN group (optionally together with the DNN and S-NSSAI) . In some embodiments, the 5G VN Group ID is provided by the UDM. In some embodiments, the 5G VN Group ID is provided by the UDM within shared 5G VN Group data, and used by the SMF / UPF to establish the N4 session which is associated to the group-level N4 session.

[0102] In some embodiments, operations 1 to 3, 4a, 5, 8, and 9 of the PDU session establishment procedure illustrated in FIG. 7 is similar to which in FIG. 6, and will not be repeated herein.

[0103] In operation 4b, the UDM sends a message (e.g., a Subscription Retrieval Response message (i.e., an Numd_SDM_Get Response) ) to the SMF, carrying the Session Management Subscription data of the UE. In some embodiments, the message includes the VN Group Identifier together with the DNN and S-NSSAI configured for the 5G VN group. In some embodiments, the VN Group Identifier is included in the shared VN Group data sent from the UDM to the SMF or transmitted parallel to the shared VN Group data. In some embodiments, the VN Group Identifier may be transmitted to the SMF via another message.

[0104] In some embodiments, one 5G VN group may be uniquely identified by a VN Group Identifier, or uniquely identified by the VN Group Identifier together with the combination of the DNN and S-NSSAI.

[0105] In operation 6, the SMF transmits a request message to the UPF to establish a group-level N4 session for the 5G VN Group communication. In this operation, when requesting the UPF to establish a group-level N4 session for a specific 5G VN group, the SMF provides the VN Group Identifier in the request message (e.g., a PFCP message) together with the combination of the DNN and S-NSSAI.

[0106] In such a manner, this group-level N4 session is specific for the 5G VN group identified by the VN Group Identifier, i.e., this group-level N4 session is associated with the VN Group Identifier.

[0107] In some embodiments, the VN Group Identifier may be outside the PFCP rules (e.g., PDR rules, FAR rules) or inside the PFCP rules (details in this regard will be specified below) .

[0108] In operation 7a, the SMF sends a message (e.g., a PFCP message, such as a PFCP session establishment request message (i.e., an N4 session establishment request) ) to the UPF, to setup the PFCP session (i.e., N4 session) for the UE requested PDU session. In this operation, the SMF includes the VN Group Identifier in this message, together with the combination of the DNN and S-NSSAI. The VN Group Identifier is used (by the SMF and UPF) to associate the N4 session for the UE’s PDU session with the group-level N4 session specific for the 5G VN group identified by the VN Group Identifier.

[0109] In one embodiment, the VN Group Identifier is included in this message (e.g., the PFCP message) while outside the PFCP rules (e.g., PDRs / FARs) . For example, this message is constructed as a PFCP Session Establishment Request (e.g., including at least one of a DNN, an S-NSSAI, a VN Group Identifier, a list of PDR, a list of FAR, etc. ) .

[0110] In another embodiment, the VN Group Identifier is included in the PFCP rules (e.g., PDRs / FARs) . In detail, the VN Group Identifier is present together with the Source Interface  / Destination Interface in one PDR / FAR. For example, the message (e.g., the PFCP message) is constructed as a PFCP Session Establishment Request (e.g., including at least one of a DNN, an S-NSSAI, a list of PDR, a list of FAR, etc. ) , and the VN Group Identifier is carried as one attribute inside the PDR and / or FAR.

[0111] Using the VN Group Identifier present in this message (e.g., the PFCP message) (e.g., outside the PFCP rules or inside PFCP rules) , optionally together with the DNN and S-NSSAI, the SMF instructs the UPF that the N4 session of UE’s PDU session is associated with the group-level N4 session specific for the 5G VN group identified by the VN Group Identifier.

[0112] In operation 7b, the UPF sends a response (e.g., an N4 session establishment response) back to the SMF. In this operation, the UPF installs the PDRs / FARs received from the SMF. The UPF recognizes the VN Group Identifier present in the message (e.g., the PFCP message) (e.g., outside the PFCP rules or inside the PFCP rules) from the SMF. Using the VN Group Identifier present in the message (e.g., the PFCP message) (e.g., outside the PFCP rules or inside PFCP rules) , optionally with the DNN and S-NSSAI, the UPF can associate the N4 session of UE’s PDU session with the group-level N4 session specific for the 5G VN group identified by the VN Group Identifier (i.e., the group-level N4 session mentioned in operation 6) .

[0113] In such a manner, the UPF can set up an N19 interface that is specific for the 5G VN group identified by the VN Group Identifier, and this N19 interface is associated with the VN Group Identifier. By using this N19 interface associated with VN Group Identifier, the UPF can perform traffic local switching for UEs within the 5G VN group identified by the VN Group Identifier.

[0114] Afterwards, when receiving an uplink or downlink traffic, the UPF may limit the traffic local switching only within the same 5G VN group, if the source UE and target UE are inside the same 5G VN group. For example, the traffic among two UEs belonging to the same 5G VN group may only be forwarded to the N19 interface that is specific for this 5G VN group, i.e., to the N19 interface associated with the VN Group Identifier of that VN group.

[0115] FIG. 8 shows an example where the traffic local switching is via the N19 interface that is only used for the specific 5G VN group according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0116] In FIG. 8, the UE1 and the UE 3 belong to VN group #1 while the UE2 and the UE4 belongs to VN group #2. The UPF1 serves both the UE1 and the UE2, while the UPF2 only serves the UE3 and the UPF3 only  serves the UPF4. The UPF1 has two different N19 interfaces with other UPFs, i.e., one N19 interface between the UPF1 and UPF2 is specific for VN group #1, and the other N19 interface between the UPF1 and the UPF3 is specific for VN group #2. Thus, the traffic between the UE1 and the UE3 is forwarded by the UPF1 and the UPF3 via the N19 interface specific for VN group #1.

[0117] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for PDU session establishment for virtual network group members, applied to a session management function (SMF) is provided, which comprises:

[0118] receiving, from the UDM, a group identifier identifying the virtual network group which the UE belongs to; and

[0119] sending, a PFCP message to the UPF, wherein the group identified in carried in the PFCP message.

[0120] In some embodiments, the group identifier received from UDM is included in shared virtual network group data.

[0121] In some embodiments, the shared virtual group data is sent together with session management subscription data of the UE.

[0122] In some embodiments, the PFCP message carrying a group identifier is a PFCP session establishment request message.

[0123] In some embodiments, the group identifier is carried in at least one PFCP rule.

[0124] In some embodiments, the PFCP rule carrying the group identifier is a packet detection rule (PDR) or a forward action rule (FAR) .

[0125] In some embodiments, the group identifier is associated with the source interface or destination interface within the PDR or FAR.

[0126] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, after receiving the PFCP message from the SMF, the UPF associates the N4 session corresponding to the UE’s PDU session with the group-level N4 session corresponding to the virtual network group identifier by the group identifier.

[0127] In some embodiments, on receiving uplink or downlink traffic, the UPF performs two-step packet detection and forwarding involving the group-level N4 session corresponding to the virtual network group identified by the group identifier.

[0128] A wireless communication method is also provided according to an embodiment of the present  disclosure. In an embodiment, the wireless communication method may be performed by using a wireless communication node (e.g., a network function) . In an embodiment, the wireless communication node may be implemented by using the wireless network node 20 described in this disclosure, but is not limited thereto.

[0133] Details in this regard can be ascertained with reference to the paragraphs above, and will not be repeated herein.

[0134] Another wireless communication method is also provided according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. In an embodiment, the wireless communication method may be performed by using a wireless communication node (e.g., a network function) . In an embodiment, the wireless communication node may be implemented by using the wireless network node 20 described in this disclosure, but is not limited thereto.

[0135] Referring to FIG. 11, in an embodiment, the wireless communication method includes transmitting, by a data management node to a session management node, a virtual network group identifier identifying a virtual network group of wireless communication terminals to allow the session management node to establish  a first Protocol Forward Control Protocol, PFCP, session for a wireless communication terminal belonging to the virtual network group.

[0136] Details in this regard can be ascertained with reference to the paragraphs above, and will not be repeated herein.

[0137] In some embodiments, the session management node used in the present disclosure may indicate the SMF described above.

[0138] In some embodiments, the user plane node used in the present disclosure may indicate the UPF described above.

[0139] In some embodiments, the data management node used in the present disclosure may indicate the UDM described above.

[0140] In some embodiments, the first request message used in the present disclosure may indicate the PFCP session establishment request message described above.

[0141] In some embodiments, the first PFCP session used in the present disclosure may indicate the PFCP session for the UE requested PDU session described above.

[0142] In some embodiments, the second PFCP session used in the present disclosure may indicate the group-level N4 session described above.

[0143] While various embodiments of the present disclosure have been described above, it should be understood that they have been presented by way of example only, and not by way of limitation. Likewise, the various diagrams may depict an example architectural or configuration, which are provided to enable persons of ordinary skill in the art to understand exemplary features and functions of the present disclosure. Such persons would understand, however, that the present disclosure is not restricted to the illustrated example architectures or configurations, but can be implemented using a variety of alternative architectures and configurations. Additionally, as would be understood by persons of ordinary skill in the art, one or more features of one embodiment can be combined with one or more features of another embodiment described herein. Thus, the breadth and scope of the present disclosure should not be limited by any one of the above-described exemplary embodiments.

[0144] It is understood that, in the present disclosure, the term “and / or” or symbol “ / ” may include any and all combinations of one or more of the associated listed items. For example, A and / or B and / or C includes any  and all combinations of one or more of A, B, and C, including A, B, C, A and B, A and C, B and C, and a combination of A and B and C. Likewise, A / B / C includes any and all combinations of one or more of A, B, and C, including A, B, C, A and B, A and C, B and C, and a combination of A and B and C.

[0145] It is also understood that any reference to an element herein using a designation such as "first, " "second, " and so forth does not generally limit the quantity or order of those elements. Rather, these designations can be used herein as a convenient means of distinguishing between two or more elements or instances of an element. Thus, a reference to first and second elements does not mean that only two elements can be employed, or that the first element must precede the second element in some manner.

[0146] Additionally, a person having ordinary skill in the art would understand that information and signals can be represented using any one of a variety of different technologies and techniques. For example, data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits and symbols, for example, which may be referenced in the above description can be represented by voltages, currents, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or particles, optical fields or particles, or any combination thereof.

[0147] A skilled person would further appreciate that any one of the various illustrative logical blocks, units, processors, means, circuits, methods and functions described in connection with the aspects disclosed herein can be implemented by electronic hardware (e.g., a digital implementation, an analog implementation, or a combination of the two) , firmware, various forms of program or design code incorporating instructions (which can be referred to herein, for convenience, as "software" or a "software unit” ) , or any combination of these techniques.

[0148] To clearly illustrate this interchangeability of hardware, firmware and software, various illustrative components, blocks, units, circuits, and steps have been described above generally in terms of their functionality. Whether such functionality is implemented as hardware, firmware or software, or a combination of these techniques, depends upon the particular application and design constraints imposed on the overall system. Skilled artisans can implement the described functionality in various ways for each particular application, but such implementation decisions do not cause a departure from the scope of the present disclosure. In accordance with various embodiments, a processor, device, component, circuit, structure, machine, unit, etc. can be configured to perform one or more of the functions described herein. The term “configured to” or “configured for” as used herein with respect to a specified operation or function refers to a processor, device, component, circuit, structure, machine, unit, etc. that is physically constructed, programmed and / or arranged to perform the specified operation or function.

[0149] Furthermore, a skilled person would understand that various illustrative logical blocks, units, devices, components and circuits described herein can be implemented within or performed by an integrated circuit (IC) that can include a general purpose processor, a digital signal processor (DSP) , an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) , a field programmable gate array (FPGA) or other programmable logic device, or any combination thereof. The logical blocks, units, and circuits can further include antennas and / or transceivers to communicate with various components within the network or within the device. A general purpose processor can be a microprocessor, but in the alternative, the processor can be any conventional processor, controller, or state machine. A processor can also be implemented as a combination of computing devices, e.g., a combination of a DSP and a microprocessor, a plurality of microprocessors, one or more microprocessors in conjunction with a DSP core, or any other suitable configuration to perform the functions described herein. If implemented in software, the functions can be stored as one or more instructions or code on a computer-readable medium. Thus, the steps of a method or algorithm disclosed herein can be implemented as software stored on a computer-readable medium.

[0150] Computer-readable media includes both computer storage media and communication media including any medium that can be enabled to transfer a computer program or code from one place to another. A storage media can be any available media that can be accessed by a computer. By way of example, and not limitation, such computer-readable media can include RAM, ROM, EEPROM, CD-ROM or other optical disk storage, magnetic disk storage or other magnetic storage devices, or any other medium that can be used to store desired program code in the form of instructions or data structures and that can be accessed by a computer.

[0151] In this document, the term "unit" as used herein, refers to software, firmware, hardware, and any combination of these elements for performing the associated functions described herein. Additionally, for purpose of discussion, the various units are described as discrete units; however, as would be apparent to one of ordinary skill in the art, two or more units may be combined to form a single unit that performs the associated functions according embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0152] Additionally, memory or other storage, as well as communication components, may be employed in embodiments of the present disclosure. It will be appreciated that, for clarity purposes, the above description has described embodiments of the present disclosure with reference to different functional units and processors. However, it will be apparent that any suitable distribution of functionality between different functional units, processing logic elements or domains may be used without detracting from the present disclosure. For example, functionality illustrated to be performed by separate processing logic elements, or controllers, may be performed  by the same processing logic element, or controller. Hence, references to specific functional units are only references to a suitable means for providing the described functionality, rather than indicative of a strict logical or physical structure or organization.

[0153] Various modifications to the implementations described in this disclosure will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art, and the general principles defined herein can be applied to other implementations without departing from the scope of the claims. Thus, the disclosure is not intended to be limited to the implementations shown herein, but is to be accorded the widest scope consistent with the novel features and principles disclosed herein, as recited in the claims below.
