AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

The alignment of a radiation source with a detector in transmission radiation detection devices is challenging due to the invisible nature of the radiation beam plane, necessitating complex and potentially hazardous manual alignment procedures.

Method used

A system utilizing a radiation position detection and display unit, a visible light emitter, and an adjustment assembly to align a visible light beam plane with the radiation beam plane, allowing safe and precise positioning of the detector without activating the radiation source.

Benefits of technology

Enables safe and accurate alignment of the detector by using a visible light beam plane as a reference, eliminating the need for direct radiation exposure during installation and allowing for easy adjustment and calibration.

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a system and a method for positioning a detector of a transmission radiation detection device. The system includes a radiation position detection and display unit, a visible light emitter and an adjustment assembly. The radiation position detection and display unit is configured to detect and display the position of a radiation beam plane emitted by a radiation source of the transmission radiation detection device, wherein a projection of the radiation beam plane onto a first plane facing the radiation emission direction of the radiation source is a straight line. The visible light emitter is configured to emit a visible light beam plane whose projection onto the first plane is a straight line. The adjustment assembly is connected to the visible light emitter and configured to adjust the visible light emission direction of the visible light emitter or its position in the direction perpendicular to the visible light beam plane, so as to adjust the visible light beam plane to the position of the radiation beam plane displayed by the radiation position detection and display unit. The visible light beam plane can be used as a reference plane to arrange or adjust the detector, so that the detector can receive radiation emitted by the radiation source.
