Abstract

A method and apparatus for calculating and representing individual currency indexes to assist foreign exchange traders and analysts. For a configured basket of currencies and quoted price movements for the associated currency pairs, individual currency indexes express the relative influence of each separate currency on the price movements. Indexes are calculated by considering the basket of currencies as a whole, resulting in a cohesive, consistent set of values. Display and storage of the individual currency indexes facilitate visualization and analysis of foreign exchange market influences. This provides traders with an enhanced view and understanding of the markets.
