[0046] Next, the present disclosure will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings by giving the following embodiments and specific examples, but the present disclosure is not limited to these embodiments and specific examples.
[0047] In the following description using the drawings, the drawings are schematic, and it should be noted that the ratios of dimensions and the like are different from actual dimensions, and for ease of understanding, illustration of components other than those necessary for the description is appropriately omitted.
[0048] (1) Overall structure and operation of image forming apparatus
[0049] Figure 1 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing the internal structure of the image forming apparatus 1 according to the present embodiment, Figure 2 is a cross-sectional structural diagram showing the internal structure of the image reading device 2, Figure 3 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing an image reading section of the image reading device 2. Hereinafter, the overall structure and operation of the image forming device 1 will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0050] (1.1) Overall structure
[0051] The image forming apparatus 1 is configured to include: an image reading device 2 that reads an image from a sheet S such as an original document and converts it into image data; an image forming unit 3 as an image recording unit that prints the read image data on paper as a recording medium; an operation information unit 4 as a user interface; and an image processing unit 5.
[0052] The image reading device 2 is configured to include a sheet stacking section 21, an automatic sheet feeding section 22, and an image reading section 23. The automatic sheet feeding section 22 conveys the sheet S placed on the sheet stacking section 21 to a reading position of the image reading section 23, and an image read by an image sensor IS such as a CCD (Charge Coupled Device) line sensor of the image reading section 23 is converted into an electrical signal, i.e., image data.
[0053] The image forming unit 3 includes a paper feeding device 32 , an exposure device 33 , a photosensitive unit 34 , a developing device 35 , a transfer device 36 , and a fixing device 37 , and forms the image information received from the image processing unit 5 as a toner image on the paper P fed from the paper feeding device 32 .
[0054] An operation information unit 4 as a user interface is disposed on the front surface side of the image reading device 2. The operation information unit 4 is composed of a combination of a liquid crystal display panel, various operation buttons, a touch panel, etc., and the user of the image forming device 1 inputs various settings and instructions via the operation information unit 4. In addition, various information is displayed to the user of the image forming device 1 via the liquid crystal display panel.
[0055] The image processing unit 5 generates image data based on the image read by the image reading device 2 and print information transmitted from an external device (for example, a personal computer, etc.).
[0056] (1.2) Image forming unit
[0057] In the image forming unit 3 , the paper P designated for each sheet to be printed in the print job is fed from the paper feeder 32 to the image forming unit 3 at the timing of image formation.
[0058] The photosensitive body unit 34 has photosensitive body drums 341 which are arranged in parallel above the paper feeding device 32 and are driven to rotate. Yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C), and black (K) toner images are formed on the photosensitive body drums 341 on which the electrostatic latent images are formed by the exposure device 33 by the respective developing devices 35.
[0059] The toner images of each color formed on the photosensitive drum 341 of each photosensitive unit 34 are electrostatically transferred (primary transfer) sequentially to the intermediate transfer belt 361 of the transfer device 36, forming a superimposed toner image with superimposed toners of each color. The superimposed toner images on the intermediate transfer belt 361 are sent out from the registration roller pair 321, and are collectively transferred to the paper P guided by the conveying guide by the secondary transfer roller 362.
[0060] The fixing nip NF (fixing region) of the fixing device 37 is formed by a pressure-contact region of a pair of the heating module 371 and the pressing module 372 .
[0061] After the colorant images are uniformly transferred in the transfer device 36, the paper P is conveyed to the fixing nip NF of the fixing device 37 via the conveying guide 363 while the colorant images are in an unfixed state, and the colorant images are fixed by a pair of heating modules 371 and a pressing module 372 under the action of heating and pressing.
[0062] The paper P with the fixed toner image formed thereon is guided to the switching gate 374, discharged from the first paper discharge roller pair 373, and stored in the paper discharge tray portion T on the upper surface of the image forming apparatus 1. When the paper is reversed for double-sided printing or discharged with the image recording surface facing up, the transport direction is switched toward the transport path 375 by the switching gate 374.
[0063] (1.3) Image reading device
[0064] The sheet stacking portion 21 has a sheet tray TR1 on which sheets S on which images are recorded are placed.
[0065] The automatic sheet feeding section 22 has a separation section 22D composed of a push roller 22A, a paper feed roller 22B, and a retard roller 22C. The push roller 22A sequentially takes out the sheets S stacked on the sheet tray TR1 from above.
[0066] In the separation section 22D, the paper feed roller 22B and the retard roller 22C form a pair, and when the sheets S are fed to the nip section N in an overlapped manner, the sheets S are separated (separated) and conveyed one by one to the image reading section 23 .
[0067] In the sheet conveying path G1, a take-out roller 22E is disposed downstream of the paper feed roller 22B with respect to the conveying direction of the sheet S. The take-out roller 22E conveys the sheet S fed by the paper feed roller 22B to the pre-registration roller 22F.
[0068] On the downstream side of the pre-register roller 22F, there is arranged a register roller 22G, which adjusts the conveying timing of the sheet S. The pre-register roller 22F forms a loop in a state where the end of the sheet S abuts against the stopped register roller 22G, thereby correcting the skew feeding. The register roller 22G is driven to rotate according to the start timing of reading, and the sheet S abuts against the reading glass PG1 by the platen roller 22H while being kept in a loop by the take-out roller 22E and the pre-register roller 22F, and the surface is read by the image reading unit 23.
[0069] The sheet S passing through the reading glass PG1 is guided by the sheet guide SG and conveyed to the reading sensor 232. The sheet S whose surface is read by the image reading section 23 has its back read by the reading sensor SNR and is conveyed in the sheet conveying path G2, and is discharged by the discharge roller 22J to the discharge tray TR2 formed below the sheet stacking section 21.
[0070] The image reading unit 23 includes a platen glass PG2 on which a sheet S is placed on an upper surface of a housing 24 , and a carriage 25 disposed inside the housing 24 so as to be movable back and forth in a sub-scanning direction (left-right direction: X direction).
[0071] The carriage 25 is equipped with a first lamp H1 and a second lamp H2, which are LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) as an example of an irradiation unit, a lens array unit 20 as an optical device for imaging the reflected light from the sheet S at a predetermined magnification, and an image sensor (solid-state imaging element using CMOS) IS. The irradiation unit irradiates the sheet S passing through the reading glass PG1 or the sheet S on the platen glass PG2. The image sensor IS is a reading sensor for reading an image of the sheet S, and generates an analog image signal corresponding to the reflected light from the sheet S.
[0072] When the sheet S is placed on the platen glass PG2 , the carriage 25 is sequentially moved in the sub-scanning direction (X direction) to read image information for each line, thereby guiding reflected light from the sheet S to the image sensor IS to read an image of the entire sheet S.
[0073] (2) Lens array unit
[0074] Figure 4 is an exploded perspective view of the lens array unit 20 of this embodiment. Figure 5 (a) is an exploded perspective view of the light shielding wall 220 to which the first reinforcement film 210 and the second reinforcement film 230 are bonded. Figure 5 (b) is a diagram showing the light shielding wall 220 to which the first reinforcement film 210 and the second reinforcement film 230 are bonded. Hereinafter, the lens array unit 20 will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0075] like Figure 4 As shown, the lens array unit 20 is composed of a first reinforcing film 210 as an example of a sheet body, a light shielding wall 220, a second reinforcing film 230 as an example of a sheet body, a first lens array 240 as an example of a lens body, and a second lens array 250 as an example of a lens body.
[0076] Here, the first reinforcement film 210 and the second reinforcement film 230 of the lens array unit 20 are bonded in a manner that the light shielding wall 220 is clamped from each of the surfaces 220a and 220b of the light shielding wall 220 that are opposite to each other. In addition, the light shielding wall 220, the first lens array 240, and the second lens array 250 are stacked in sequence and bonded to each other by an adhesive or the like to form a whole.
[0077] (2.1) First lens array, second lens array
[0078] The first lens array 240 and the second lens array 250 are a pair of lens members each having a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape, and have shapes that coincide with each other.
[0079] The first lens array 240 has a first support body 241 that is roughly rectangular and a plurality of first lenses 242 formed on the front and back surfaces of the first support body 241. The plurality of first lenses 242 are configured so that their optical axes are along each other. Here, the optical axes of the plurality of first lenses 242 are along each other means that the first lenses 242 respectively image one row of the image of the sheet S in the reading glass PG1 or the platen glass PG2 on the image sensor IS in an upright and equal-magnification manner, which means not only that the optical axes of the plurality of first lenses 242 are parallel to each other, but also that there may be deviations in angles with each other.
[0080] In addition, a plurality of first lenses 242 are arranged in parallel as the first column R41 and the second column R42 along the main scanning direction and are arranged in a zigzag pattern. That is, the first lenses 242 constituting the first column R41 and the first lenses 242 constituting the second column R42 are offset from each other in the main scanning direction and are arranged at the same predetermined pitch.
[0081] The second lens array 250 has a second support body 251 that is roughly rectangular and a plurality of second lenses 252 formed on the front and back surfaces of the second support body 251. The plurality of second lenses 252 are configured so that their optical axes are along each other. Here, the optical axes of the plurality of second lenses 252 are along each other means that the second lenses 252 respectively image one row of the image of the sheet S in the reading glass PG1 or the platen glass PG2 on the image sensor IS in an upright and equal-magnification manner, which means not only that the optical axes of the plurality of second lenses 252 are parallel to each other, but also that there may be deviations in angles with each other.
[0082] In addition, a plurality of second lenses 252 are arranged in parallel as the first column R51 and the second column R52 along the main scanning direction, and are arranged in a zigzag pattern. That is, the second lenses 252 constituting the first column R51 and the second lenses 252 constituting the second column R52 are offset from each other in the main scanning direction and are arranged at the same predetermined pitch.
[0083] The first lens array 240 and the second lens array 250 constructed in this manner are arranged to be aligned in a manner that the optical axis of the first lens 242 is consistent with the optical axis of the second lens 252. In addition, the first lens array 240 and the second lens array 250 are respectively injection molded using, for example, a light-transmitting optical resin, thereby being integrally formed.
[0084] (2.2)Light-shielding wall
[0085] like Figure 4 As shown, the light shielding wall 220 has a substantially rectangular parallelepiped body 221 and a plurality of optical axis holes 222 formed from a surface 221a of the body 221 through a back surface 221b thereof. The length direction of the light shielding wall 220 is arranged along the main scanning direction.
[0086] In the present embodiment, the diameter of the plurality of optical axis holes 222 is 0.5 mm, and the plurality of optical axis holes 222 are arranged in a predetermined interval in the main scanning direction. The plurality of optical axis holes 222 are respectively arranged at positions through which the optical axis of the first lens 242 passes. More specifically, the intervals of the optical axis holes 222 in the main scanning direction of the light shielding wall 220 are arranged so that the intervals of the first lenses 242 in the first lens array 240 are consistent with the intervals of the second lenses 252 in the second lens array 250.
[0087] The light shielding wall 220 configured in this manner is formed of, for example, a resin material (eg, ABS, PC (polycarbonate)) mixed with a black pigment, and blocks light that does not contribute to the imaging of the first lens 242 and the second lens 252 .
[0088] That is, in the light shielding wall 220, the area of the main body 221 where the optical axis hole 222 is not formed forms a wall that blocks light between the first lenses 242 in the main scanning direction, and blocks light that is incident on the first lens 242 and the second lens 252 in a direction that intersects the optical axis, in other words, at a certain angle. As a result, light that enters one of the first lens 242 and the second lens 252 adjacent to the other lens in the main scanning direction can be reduced.
[0089] As a result, the angle of view of the first lens 242 and the second lens 252 can be narrowed, and the depth of focus can be increased. In addition, stray light can be suppressed in the light passing through the first lens 242 and the second lens 252.
[0090] The field angle here refers to the estimated angle of the light relative to the optical axis direction (the angle between the normal and the light). In addition, stray light refers to light emitted from an object point on the object plane that reaches a corresponding image point on the image plane.
[0091] The light shielding wall 220 is made of a resin material mixed with black pigment, and the inner side of the optical axis hole 222 is also black. By making the surface of the optical axis hole 222 black in this way, the light blocked by the main body 221 can be suppressed from being reflected in the optical axis hole 222.
[0092] (2.3) First reinforcement film, second reinforcement film
[0093] The first reinforcement film 210 and the second reinforcement film 230 are respectively long thin plate members, and in the present embodiment, the shapes thereof are identical to each other.
[0094] The thickness of the first reinforcing film 210 and the second reinforcing film 230, that is, the dimension in the optical axis direction, is smaller than that of the light shielding wall 220. Specifically, it is a transparent resin film with a thickness thinner than 0.5 mm. In addition, the first reinforcing film 110 is not limited to a resin film, and can also be a transparent glass with a thickness thinner than 0.1 mm. In this way, the refraction of light incident on the light shielding wall 220 can be suppressed, and the intensity of the light shielding wall 220 in the optical axis direction can be increased.
[0095] like Figure 5 As shown, the first reinforcing film 210 and the second reinforcing film 230 configured in this manner have the same shape and extend in the longitudinal direction of the light shielding wall 220 intersecting the optical axis direction, and are bonded to the surface 221a and the back surface 221b in a manner of sandwiching the light shielding wall 220 from the upper and lower surfaces of the light shielding wall 220, i.e., the surface 221a and the back surface 221b of the main body 221. Thus, the deformation of the light shielding wall 220 in the optical axis direction can be suppressed, and the light shielding wall 220 can be easily arranged on the first lens array 240. In addition, the difference in the optical axis direction of the light shielding wall 220 in the longitudinal direction can be suppressed.
[0096] (2.4) Functions of the first and second reinforcement films
[0097] Figure 6 (a) is a schematic diagram showing a state where the original light is imaged on the image sensor IS via the lens array unit 20 without a reinforcing film, Figure 6 (b) is a schematic diagram for explaining the image reading state when foreign matter invades the optical axis hole 222 of the light shielding wall 220, Figure 7 (a) is a schematic diagram showing a state in which the original light is imaged on the image sensor IS via the lens array unit with the light shielding wall 220 being tilted or inclined. Figure 7 (b) is a diagram illustrating the light intensities of imaging light and stray light in the image sensor.
[0098] like Figure 6 As shown in (a), the optical axis hole 222 of the light shielding wall 220 is open toward the reading glass PG1 or the platen glass PG2, and receives the original document light. Therefore, for example, foreign matter such as dust and paper powder may enter and accumulate in the optical axis hole 222. When foreign matter accumulates in the optical axis hole 222, for example, foreign matter accumulates in Figure 6 In the case of the optical axis holes 222a, 222b, 222c coated with halftone dots in (b), the document light passing through the optical axis holes 222a, 222b, 222c of these light shielding walls 220 may be blocked, thereby generating vertical lines in the read image.
[0099] like Figure 7 As shown in (a) of FIG. 1 , when the light shielding wall 220 falls or tilts, the document light incident on the first lens 242 may be deviated, the total amount of light reaching the image sensor IS may decrease, and stray light may increase. Figure 7 (b) schematically shows that the optical axis hole 222 of the light shielding wall 220 is axially offset and the incident light entering the first lens 242 of the first column R41 is incident from its center position ( Figure 7 (b) CC) deviates ( Figure 7 Light intensity on the image sensor IS in the AA) situation in (b).
[0100] like Figure 7 As shown in (b), when there is no axial deviation of the optical axis hole 222, there is no difference between the stray light components of the first lens 242 of the first column R41 and the first lens of the second column R42, and their light intensities are also different from the imaging light. On the other hand, when there is axial deviation of the optical axis hole 222, the light intensity of the stray light component of the first lens of the second column R42 is small, while the stray light component of the first lens 242 of the first column R41 increases to a level that is no different from the imaging light. In addition, the unevenness of the lens spacing of the stray light component also increases.
[0101] The first reinforcement film 210 and the second reinforcement film 230 of the lens array unit 20 of the present embodiment are bonded to the surface 221a and the back surface 221b in a manner of sandwiching the light shielding wall 220 from each of the upper and lower surfaces opposite to each other of the light shielding wall 220. The first reinforcement film 210 and the second reinforcement film 230 use a transparent resin film thinner than 0.5 mm in thickness or a transparent glass thinner than 0.1 mm in thickness to suppress the refraction of light incident on the optical axis hole 222 of the light shielding wall 220 and increase the intensity of the light shielding wall 220 in the optical axis direction.
[0102] This can prevent foreign matter from entering the optical axis hole 222 , suppress the light shielding wall 220 from falling down or tilting, and suppress the axial deviation of the optical axis hole 222 .
[0103] "Variant 1"
[0104] Figure 8 (a) is an exploded perspective view of the light shielding wall 220 to which the first reinforcing film 210A and the second reinforcing film 230A of Modification Example 1 are bonded. Figure 8 (b) is a diagram showing the light shielding wall 220 to which the first reinforcement film 210A and the second reinforcement film 230A are bonded.
[0105] like Figure 8 As shown in (a), the first reinforcement film 210A and the second reinforcement film 230A of the modification example 1 are divided into a plurality of parts in the longitudinal direction of the light shielding wall 220 intersecting the optical axis direction of the optical axis hole 222. In this modification example 1, the first reinforcement film 210A and the second reinforcement film 230A are divided into three parts, which are mutually consistent in shape. In addition, the number of divisions is not limited to three, and the number of divisions may be greater than three.
[0106] Each of the divided first reinforcement film 210A and the second reinforcement film 230A is a transparent resin film thinner than 0.5 mm in thickness or a transparent glass thinner than 0.1 mm in thickness.
[0107] like Figure 8 As shown in (b), the first reinforcing film 210A and the second reinforcing film 230A divided into a plurality of parts in this way are bonded to the surface 221a and the back surface 221b in a manner of sandwiching the light shielding wall 220 from each of the upper and lower surfaces of the light shielding wall 220 that are opposite to each other. Thus, the deformation of the light shielding wall 220 in the optical axis direction can be suppressed, and the light shielding wall 220 can be easily arranged on the first lens array 240.
[0108] "Variant 2"
[0109] Fig. 9 (a) is an exploded perspective view of a light shielding wall 220A to which a first reinforcing film 210A and a second reinforcing film 230A of Modification Example 2 are bonded. Fig. 9 (b) is a diagram showing a light shielding wall 220A to which the first reinforcement film 210A and the second reinforcement film 230A are bonded.
[0110] like Fig. 9 As shown in (a) of FIG. 2 , the light shielding wall 220A of the modification 2 is divided into a plurality of parts in the longitudinal direction, and is arranged in the first lens array 240 so as to be bonded to each other via divided surfaces 220Aa.
[0111] In this variant example 2, the length L1 of the light-shielding wall 220A in the length direction (main scanning direction) is 300 mm, the length L2 in the thickness direction (optical axis direction) is 6 mm, and the length L3 in the width direction (sub-scanning direction) is 2 mm. When it is formed by injection molding using a resin material mixed with a black pigment, it is divided into multiple pieces, thereby making it easy to ensure dimensional accuracy in the length direction.
[0112] like Fig. 9 As shown in (a), the first reinforcing film 210A and the second reinforcing film 230A are divided into a plurality of parts in a longitudinal direction of the light shielding wall 220 intersecting the optical axis direction of the optical axis hole 222, matching the light shielding wall 220A. In this modification 2, the first reinforcing film 210A and the second reinforcing film 230A are divided into three parts, each having a shape that matches the other.
[0113] Each of the divided first reinforcement film 210A and the second reinforcement film 230A is a transparent resin film thinner than 0.5 mm in thickness or a transparent glass thinner than 0.1 mm in thickness.
[0114] like Fig. 9 As shown in (b), the light shielding wall 220A divided into a plurality of parts in this manner is joined by the dividing surface 220Aa, and the first reinforcing film 210A and the second reinforcing film 230A are bonded to the surface 221Aa and the back surface 221Ab in a manner of clamping the light shielding wall 220A from each of the upper and lower surfaces of the divided light shielding wall 220A relative to each other. Thus, the light shielding wall 220A can be easily arranged on the first lens array 240, and the strength of each light shielding wall 220A after division is improved, and deformation in the length direction intersecting the optical axis direction is suppressed.
[0115] "Variant 3"
[0116] Fig.10 (a) is an exploded perspective view of a light shielding wall 220A to which the first reinforcing film 210B and the second reinforcing film 230B of Modification Example 3 are bonded. Fig.10 (b) is a diagram showing a light shielding wall 220A to which the first reinforcement film 210B and the second reinforcement film 230B are bonded.
[0117] like Fig.10 As shown in (a) of FIG. 1 , the light shielding wall 220A of the modification 3 is divided into a plurality of parts in the longitudinal direction, and is arranged in the first lens array 240 so as to be bonded to each other via divided surfaces 220Aa.
[0118] like Fig.10As shown in (a), the first reinforcing film 210B and the second reinforcing film 230B are divided into a plurality of parts in a manner of being bonded across the dividing surface 220Aa of the light shielding wall 220A in the longitudinal direction of the light shielding wall 220A intersecting the optical axis direction of the optical axis hole 222. In this modification example 3, the first reinforcing film 210B and the second reinforcing film 230B are divided into three parts, each having a shape that is consistent with each other.
[0119] Each of the divided first reinforcement film 210B and the second reinforcement film 230B is a transparent resin film thinner than 0.5 mm in thickness or a transparent glass thinner than 0.1 mm in thickness.
[0120] like Fig.10 As shown in (b), the light shielding wall 220A divided into a plurality of parts in this manner is joined by the splitting surface 220Aa, and the first reinforcing film 210B and the second reinforcing film 230B span the splitting surface 220Aa of the split light shielding wall 220A, and are bonded to the surface 221Aa and the back surface 221Ab in a manner of clamping the light shielding wall 220A from each of the upper and lower surfaces relative to each other. Thus, the light shielding wall 220A can be easily arranged on the first lens array 240, and the joining strength of the splitting surface 220Aa of the split light shielding wall 220A can be improved.
[0121] Fig.11 The following method is shown: the first reinforcement film 210C and the second reinforcement film 230C are divided into two, and the divided surface 220Aa spanning the divided light-shielding wall 220A is bonded to the front surface 221Aa and the back surface 221Ab in a manner of sandwiching the light-shielding wall 220A from each of the upper and lower surfaces facing each other.
[0122] When the first reinforcing film 210C and the second reinforcing film 230C are substantially divided into two in a manner spanning the dividing surface 220Aa2 of the light-shielding wall 220A, the light-shielding wall 220A that has been divided into a plurality of parts can be joined on the substantially divided second reinforcing film 230C, and the light-shielding wall 220A can be more easily arranged on the first lens array 240.
