AI Technical Summary
The prior art lacks flexibility and adaptability in version 15 for PUCCH repetitions and cannot effectively deal with changing network conditions.
Receiving a radio resource control (RRC) configuration including PUCCH resources is determined by a user equipment (UE) receiving a radio resource control (RRC) configuration including PUCCH resources, each index corresponding to a different beam in a plurality of beams. The UE then uses the first beam to transmit the first PUCCH repeat at the first slot position among the multiple slot positions and uses the second beam to transmit the second PUCCH repeat at the second slot position.
It improves the flexibility and adaptability of PUCCH repetition, can more effectively deal with changing network conditions, and improves the performance of wireless communication systems.

[0003] background
[0004] field
[0005] Aspects of the present disclosure relate generally to wireless communication systems, and more particularly to Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) repetition. Background Art
[0006] Wireless communication networks are widely deployed to provide various communication services, such as voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcasting, etc. These wireless networks can be multiple access networks that can support multiple users by sharing available network resources. Such networks, which are usually multiple access networks, support the communication of multiple users by sharing available network resources. An example of such a network is the Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN). UTRAN is a radio access network (RAN) defined as a part of the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), which is a third generation (3G) mobile phone technology supported by the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). Examples of multiple access network formats include code division multiple access (CDMA) networks, time division multiple access (TDMA) networks, frequency division multiple access (FDMA) networks, orthogonal FDMA (OFDMA) networks, and single carrier FDMA (SC-FDMA) networks.
[0007] A wireless communication network may include several base stations or Node Bs that can support communications for several user equipments (UEs). A UE may communicate with a base station via a downlink and an uplink. A downlink (or forward link) refers to the communication link from a base station to a UE, while an uplink (or reverse link) refers to the communication link from a UE to a base station.
[0008] The base station may transmit data and control information to the UE on the downlink, or may receive data and control information from the UE on the uplink. On the downlink, the transmission from the base station may encounter interference caused by transmissions from neighboring base stations or from other wireless radio frequency (RF) transmitters. On the uplink, the transmission from the UE may encounter interference from uplink transmissions of other UEs communicating with neighboring base stations or from other wireless RF transmitters. This interference may degrade the performance of both the downlink and uplink.
[0009] As the demand for mobile broadband access continues to grow, the potential for interference and congested networks continues to grow as more UEs access long-range wireless communication networks and more short-range wireless systems are being deployed in communities. Research and development continues to advance wireless technologies to not only meet the growing demand for mobile broadband access, but also to improve and enhance the user experience with mobile communications.
[0010] Physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) repetition in different time slots was developed and implemented in Release 15 for PUCCH formats 1, 3, and 4. As implemented, the same PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfo (spatial relationship information) is used for all repetitions. Additionally, the resource control configuration for a given PUCCH format provides for a number of repetitions using a corresponding number of time slots ("nrofSlots"). Accordingly, the same PUCCH resources are used across all repetitions - i.e., for each time slot. However, the approach implemented in Release 15 for PUCCH repetition lacks flexibility and adaptability to account for changing network conditions.

[0088] Detailed Description
[0089] The detailed description set forth below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings is intended as a description of various configurations and is not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure. Instead, this detailed description includes specific details in order to provide a thorough understanding of the subject matter of the present invention. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that these specific details are not required in every case, and in some instances, for clarity of presentation, well-known structures and components are shown in block diagram form.
[0090] The present disclosure generally relates to providing or participating in authorized shared access between two or more wireless communication systems (also referred to as wireless communication networks). In various embodiments, various techniques and devices may be used for wireless communication networks, such as code division multiple access (CDMA) networks, time division multiple access (TDMA) networks, frequency division multiple access (FDMA) networks, orthogonal FDMA (OFDMA) networks, single carrier FDMA (SC-FDMA) networks, LTE networks, GSM networks, fifth generation (5G) or new radio (NR) networks, and other communication networks. As described herein, the terms "network" and "system" may be used interchangeably.
[0091] OFDMA network can realize radio technologies such as Evolved UTRA (E-UTRA), IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.16, IEEE802.20, flash-OFDM, etc. UTRA, E-UTRA and Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) are parts of Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS). Specifically, Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a UMTS version using E-UTRA. UTRA, E-UTRA, GSM, UMTS and LTE are described in documents provided by an organization named "3rd Generation Partnership Project" (3GPP), while cdma2000 is described in documents from an organization named "3rd Generation Partnership Project 2" (3GPP2). These various radio technologies and standards are known or under development. For example, the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) is a collaboration between various telecommunications association groups that aims to define globally applicable third generation (3G) mobile phone specifications. 3GPP LTE is a 3GPP project aimed at improving UMTS mobile phone standards. 3GPP can define the specifications of next generation mobile networks, mobile systems, and mobile devices. The present disclosure focuses on the evolution of wireless technologies from LTE, 4G, 5G, NR and beyond with shared access to wireless spectrum between networks using a set of new and different radio access technologies or radio air interfaces.
[0092] Specifically, 5G networks envision diverse deployments, diverse spectrum, and diverse services and devices that can be implemented using a unified OFDM-based air interface. To achieve these goals, in addition to developing new radio technologies for 5G NR networks, further enhancements to LTE and LTE-A are also considered. 5G NR will be able to scale to provide coverage for: (1) ultra-high density (e.g., about 1M nodes / km) 2 ), ultra-low complexity (e.g., about tens of bits / second), ultra-low energy (e.g., about 10+ years of battery life), and deep coverage capable of reaching challenging locations; (2) including mission-critical control with strong security (to protect sensitive personal, financial, or confidential information), ultra-high reliability (e.g., about 99.9999% reliability), ultra-low latency (e.g., about 1 ms), and users with a wide range of mobility or lack of mobility; and (3) with enhanced mobile broadband, including extremely high capacity (e.g., about 10 Tbps / km 2 ), extreme data rates (e.g., multi-Gbps rates, 100+Mbps user experience rates), and deep cognition with advanced discovery and optimization.
[0093] 5G NR can be implemented to: use optimized OFDM-based waveforms with scalable parameter sets and transmission time intervals (TTIs); have a common, flexible framework to efficiently multiplex services and features using dynamic, low-latency time time division duplex (TDD) / frequency division duplex (FDD) designs; and have advanced wireless technologies such as massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), robust millimeter wave (mmWave) transmission, advanced channel coding, and device-centric mobility. The scalability of parameter sets in 5G NR (and the scaling of subcarrier spacing) can efficiently address the operation of diverse services across diverse spectrums and diverse deployments. For example, in various outdoor and macro coverage deployments less than 3GHz FDD / TDD implementations, the subcarrier spacing can occur, for example, at 15kHz on bandwidths such as 1, 5, 10, 20MHz. For other various outdoor and small cell coverage deployments of TDD greater than 3GHz, the subcarrier spacing can occur at 30kHz on 80 / 100MHz bandwidths. For various other indoor broadband implementations, subcarrier spacing can occur at 60kHz over a 160MHz bandwidth using TDD on the unlicensed portion of the 5GHz band. Finally, for various deployments transmitting with the mmWave component at 28GHz TDD, subcarrier spacing can occur at 120kHz over a 500MHz bandwidth.
[0094] 5G NR's scalable parameter set facilitates scalable TTI to meet diverse latency and quality of service (QoS) requirements. For example, shorter TTIs can be used for low latency and high reliability, while longer TTIs can be used for higher spectral efficiency. Efficient multiplexing of long TTIs and short TTIs allows transmissions to start on symbol boundaries. 5G NR also contemplates a self-contained integrated subframe design with uplink / downlink scheduling information, data, and acknowledgment in the same subframe. Self-contained integrated subframes support communications in unlicensed or contention-based shared spectrum, supporting adaptive uplink / downlink that can be flexibly configured on a per-cell basis to dynamically switch between uplink and downlink to meet current traffic needs.
[0095] Various other aspects and features of the present disclosure are further described below. It should be apparent that the teachings herein can be embodied in a variety of forms, and any specific structure, function, or both disclosed herein are representative and non-restrictive. Based on the teachings herein, it should be appreciated by those of ordinary skill in the art that the aspects disclosed herein can be implemented independently of any other aspects and two or more of these aspects can be combined in various ways. For example, any number of aspects set forth herein can be used to implement a device or practice a method. In addition, other structures, functionality, or structures and functionality that are supplementary to or different from one or more aspects set forth herein can be used to implement such a device or practice such a method. For example, the method can be implemented as a part of a system, device, device, or as an instruction stored on a computer-readable medium for execution on a processor or computer. Not only that, an aspect can include at least one element of a claim.
[0096] Figure 1 1 is a block diagram illustrating a 5G network 100 including various base stations and UEs configured according to various aspects of the present disclosure. The 5G network 100 includes several base stations 105 and other network entities. A base station may be a station that communicates with a UE and may also be referred to as an evolved Node B (eNB), a next generation eNB (gNB), an access point, etc. Each base station 105 may provide communication coverage for a particular geographic area. In 3GPP, the term "cell" may refer to such a specific geographic coverage area of a base station or a base station subsystem serving the coverage area, depending on the context in which the term is used.
[0097] A base station may provide communication coverage for a macro cell or a small cell (such as a pico cell or a femto cell), or other types of cells. A macro cell generally covers a relatively large geographic area (e.g., a radius of several kilometers) and may allow unrestricted access by UEs that have a service subscription with a network provider. A small cell (such as a pico cell) generally covers a relatively small geographic area and may allow unrestricted access by UEs that have a service subscription with a network provider. A small cell (such as a femto cell) generally also covers a relatively small geographic area (e.g., a residence) and, in addition to unrestricted access, may provide restricted access to UEs associated with the femto cell (e.g., UEs in a closed subscriber group (CSG), UEs of users in the residence, etc.). A base station for a macro cell may be referred to as a macro base station. A base station for a small cell may be referred to as a small cell base station, a pico base station, a femto base station, or a home base station. In Figure 1In the example shown in FIG. 1 , base stations 105d and 105e are conventional macro base stations, while base stations 105a-105c are macro base stations enabled with one of 3-dimensional (3D), full-dimensional (FD), or massive MIMO. Base stations 105a-105c utilize their higher dimensional MIMO capabilities to increase coverage and capacity using 3D beamforming in both elevation and azimuth beamforming. Base station 105f is a small cell base station, which may be a home node or a portable access point. The base station may support one or more (e.g., two, three, four, etc.) cells.
[0098] The 5G network 100 may support synchronous or asynchronous operation. For synchronous operation, each base station may have similar frame timing, and transmissions from different base stations may be approximately aligned in time. For asynchronous operation, each base station may have different frame timing, and transmissions from different base stations may not be aligned in time.
[0099] UE 115 is scattered throughout the wireless network 100, and each UE can be stationary or mobile. UE can also be referred to as a terminal, a mobile station, a subscriber unit, a station, etc. UE can be a cellular phone, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a wireless modem, a wireless communication device, a handheld device, a tablet computer, a laptop computer, a cordless phone, a wireless local loop (WLL) station, etc. In one aspect, the UE can be a device including a universal integrated circuit card (UICC). On the other hand, the UE can be a device that does not include a UICC. In some aspects, a UE that does not include a UICC can also be referred to as an Internet of Everything (IoE) or Internet of Things (IoT) device. UE 115a-115d is an example of a mobile smart phone type device that accesses the 5G network 100. UE can also be a machine that is specially configured for connected communications (including machine type communications (MTC), enhanced MTC (eMTC), narrowband IoT (NB-IoT), etc.). UE 115e-115k is an example of various machines configured for communication for accessing the 5G network 100. The UE may be able to communicate with any type of base station, whether macro base station, small cell, etc. Figure 1 In the present invention, lightning (eg, communication link) indicates wireless transmission between a UE and a serving base station (a serving base station is a base station designated to serve the UE on a downlink or uplink), or expected transmission between base stations, and backhaul transmission between base stations.
[0100] In operation of the 5G network 100, base stations 105a-105c use 3D beamforming and coordinated spatial techniques such as coordinated multipoint (CoMP) or multi-connectivity to serve UEs 115a and 115b. Macro base station 105d performs backhaul communications with base stations 105a-105c and small cell base station 105f. Macro base station 105d also transmits multicast services subscribed to and received by UEs 115c and 115d. Such multicast services may include mobile TV or streaming video, or may include other services for providing community information such as weather emergencies or alerts, such as Amber Alerts or Gray Alerts.
[0101] The 5G network 100 also supports mission-critical communications with ultra-reliable and redundant links for mission-critical devices, such as UE 115e, which is a drone. Redundant communication links with UE 115e include from macro base stations 105d and 105e, and small cell base station 105f. Other machine-type devices, such as UE 115f (thermometer), UE 115g (smart meter), and UE 115h (wearable device), can communicate directly with base stations, such as small cell base station 105f and macro base station 105e, through the 5G network 100, or communicate through the 5G network 100 in a multi-hop configuration by communicating with another user device that relays its information to the network, such as UE 115f communicating temperature measurement information to smart meter UE 115g, which is then reported to the network through small cell base station 105f. The 5G network 100 may also provide additional network efficiencies through dynamic, low latency TDD / FDD communications, such as in a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) mesh network between UEs 115i-115k communicating with a macro base station 105e.
[0102] Figure 2 A block diagram showing a design of a base station 105 and a UE 115 is shown, and the base station 105 and the UE 115 may be Figure 1One of each base station and one of each UE in the base station 105. At the base station 105, the transmit processor 220 may receive data from the data source 212 and control information from the controller / processor 240. The control information may be used for PBCH, PCFICH, PHICH, PDCCH, EPDCCH, MPDCCH, etc. The data may be used for PDSCH, etc. The transmit processor 220 may process (e.g., encode and symbol map) the data and the control information to obtain data symbols and control symbols, respectively. The transmit processor 220 may also generate reference symbols (e.g., for PSS, SSS, and reference signals that vary from cell to cell). The transmit (Tx) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) processor 230 may perform spatial processing (e.g., precoding) on data symbols, control symbols, or reference symbols where applicable, and may provide output symbol streams to modulators (MOD) 232a to 232t. Each modulator 232 may process a respective output symbol stream (e.g., for OFDM, etc.) to obtain an output sample stream. Each modulator 232 may further process (eg, convert to analog, amplify, filter, and upconvert) the output sample stream to obtain a downlink signal. The downlink signals from modulators 232a through 232t may be transmitted via antennas 234a through 234t, respectively.
[0103] At the UE 115, antennas 252a to 252r may receive downlink signals from the base station 105 and may provide received signals to demodulators (DEMODs) 254a to 254r, respectively. Each demodulator 254 may condition (e.g., filter, amplify, downconvert, and digitize) a respective received signal to obtain input samples. Each demodulator 254 may further process the input samples (e.g., for OFDM, etc.) to obtain received symbols. A MIMO detector 256 may obtain received symbols from all demodulators 254a to 254r, perform MIMO detection on the received symbols where applicable, and provide detected symbols. A receive processor 258 may process (e.g., demodulate, deinterleave, and decode) the detected symbols, provide decoded data for the UE 115 to a data sink 260, and provide decoded control information to a controller / processor 280.
[0104] On the uplink, at the UE 115, a transmit processor 264 may receive and process data (e.g., for PUSCH) from a data source 262 and control information (e.g., for PUCCH) from a controller / processor 280. The transmit processor 264 may also generate reference symbols for a reference signal. The symbols from the transmit processor 264 may be precoded by a TX MIMO processor 266, if applicable, further processed by modulators 254a through 254r (e.g., for SC-FDM, etc.), and transmitted to the base station 105. At the base station 105, uplink signals from the UE 115 may be received by antennas 234, processed by demodulators 232, detected by MIMO detectors 236, if applicable, and further processed by receive processors 238 to obtain decoded data and control information sent by the UE 115. The processor 238 may provide decoded data to a data sink 239 and decoded control information to the controller / processor 240.
[0105] The controller / processors 240 and 280 may direct the operation at the base station 105 and the UE 115, respectively. The controller / processor 240 or other processors and modules at the base station 105 may perform or direct the execution of various processes for the techniques described herein. The controller / processor 280 or other processors and modules at the UE 115 may also perform or direct the execution of various processes for the techniques described herein. Figure 8-19 105 and UE 115. The memory 242 and 282 may store data and program codes for the base station 105 and the UE 115, respectively. The scheduler 244 may schedule the UE for data transmission on the downlink or uplink.
[0106] Wireless communication systems operated by different network operating entities (e.g., network operators) may share spectrum. In some instances, one network operating entity may be configured to use the entire designated shared spectrum for at least one period of time, and then another network operating entity may use the entire designated shared spectrum for a different period of time. Thus, in order to allow network operating entities to use the entire designated shared spectrum, and to mitigate interfering communications between different network operating entities, specific resources (e.g., time) may be divided and allocated to different network operating entities for specific types of communications.
[0107] For example, a network operation entity may be allocated specific time resources that are reserved for exclusive communication by the network operation entity using the entire shared spectrum. Other time resources may also be allocated to a network operation entity where the entity has priority over other network operation entities for communication using the shared spectrum. These time resources prioritized for use by the network operation entity may be utilized by other network operation entities on an opportunistic basis if the prioritized network operation entity does not utilize these resources. Additional time resources may be allocated to any network operator to be used on an opportunistic basis.
[0108] Access to the shared spectrum and arbitration of time resources among different network operating entities may be centrally controlled by a single entity, autonomously determined through a predefined arbitration scheme, or dynamically determined based on interactions between wireless nodes of the network operator.
[0109] In some cases, the UE 115 and the base station 105 (in the 5g network 100) Figure 1 ) may operate in a shared radio frequency spectrum band, which may include licensed or unlicensed (e.g., contention-based) spectrum. In the unlicensed frequency portion of the shared radio frequency spectrum band, the UE 115 or the base station 105 may traditionally perform medium sensing procedures to contend for access to the spectrum. For example, the UE 115 or the base station 105 may perform a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure (such as a clear channel assessment (CCA)) before communicating to determine whether the shared channel is available. CCA may include energy detection procedures to determine whether there are any other active transmissions. For example, the device may infer that a change in the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of a power meter indicates that the channel is occupied. Specifically, signal power concentrated in a particular bandwidth and exceeding a predetermined noise floor may indicate another wireless transmitter. CCA may also include detection of a specific sequence indicating channel usage. For example, another device may transmit a specific preamble before transmitting a data sequence. In some cases, the LBT procedure may include the wireless node acting as a proxy for collisions to adjust its own backoff window based on the amount of energy detected on the channel or acknowledgment / negative acknowledgment (ACK / NACK) feedback for its own transmitted packets.
[0110] Using medium sensing procedures to contend for access to unlicensed shared spectrum may result in communication inefficiencies. This may be particularly evident when multiple network operating entities (e.g., network operators) are trying to access shared resources. In the 5G network 100, the base station 105 and the UE 115 may be operated by the same or different network operating entities. In some examples, an individual base station 105 or UE 115 may be operated by more than one network operating entity. In other examples, each base station 105 and UE 115 may be operated by a single network operating entity. Requiring each base station 105 and UE 115 of a different network operating entity to contend for shared resources may result in increased signaling overhead and communication latency.
[0111] Figure 3 An example of a wireless communication system 300 that supports physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) repetition according to aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. In some examples, the wireless communication system 300 may implement aspects of the wireless communication system 100. For example, the wireless communication system 300 may include a UE 115 and a base station 105. Although one UE and one base station are illustrated, in other implementations, the wireless communication system 300 may also include multiple UEs 115, multiple base stations 105, or both. For example, the base station 105 (e.g., a network entity) may include or correspond to a first base station (e.g., a first network entity) such as an eNB and a second base station (e.g., a second network entity) such as a gNB.
[0112] The base station 105 includes a processor 302, a memory 304, a transmitter 310, a receiver 312, and a radio resource control (RRC) configuration generator 314. The processor 302 may be configured to execute instructions stored in the memory 304 to perform the operations described herein. In some implementations, the processor 302 includes or corresponds to the controller / processor 240, and the memory 304 includes or corresponds to the memory 242. The memory 304 may also be configured to store UE information 320, beam information 322, one or more configuration settings 324, mapping information 326, and transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state information 328, as further described herein.
[0113] For example, the UE information 320 may indicate one or more UEs in communication with the base station 105. In some implementations, the UE information 320 may include or indicate a PUCCH repetition pattern (e.g., a scheme) for the UE, RRC configuration information (e.g., 324), one or more beams (e.g., 322) (such as an activated beam for a PUCCH source), one or more TCI states, or a combination thereof.
[0114] The beam information 322 may identify one or more beams or an index set corresponding to one or more beams. The configuration settings 324 may include one or more settings (such as a repetition mode) for PUCCH repetition. For illustration, the configuration settings 324 may include one or more PUCCH resources. In some implementations, the configuration settings 324 may include sets of PUCCH resources, and each set may include up to eight PUCCH resources, as an illustrative, non-limiting example. As an exception, a first (e.g., initial) set may include up to thirty-two PUCCH resources, while other sets may include only up to eight PUCCH resources. Additionally or alternatively, one or more sets may be configured (e.g., via RRC configuration). For example, as an illustrative, non-limiting example, up to four sets may be configured (e.g., via RRC configuration). Which set is used may depend on the payload size of the uplink control information (UCI).
[0115] For PUCCH resources, the RB set / symbol set and PUCCH format are indicated and configured per PUCCH resource (e.g., via RRC configuration). For example, PUCCH spatial relationship information ("PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfo") may be used to indicate the beam to be used for the PUCCH resource. Additionally or alternatively, a set of indices (corresponding to a set of one or more beams - for example, each index may point to an SSB / CSI-RS / SRS for a reference signal) is configured by RRC for all PUCCH resources. For a given PUCCH resource, one index (e.g., beam) may be activated by MAC-CE. In some implementations, power control parameters are also included as part of PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfo.
[0116] In some implementations, the memory 304 may include scheduling information about the PUCCH included in the downlink control information (DCI) (DCI format 1_0 or 1_1). The memory 304 may include or track a PDSCH-to-HARQ_feedback timing indicator field (i.e., a K1 value). The K1 value may include an index that points the value of the DL data to the UL A / N in units of time slots from a configuration set or a default set (such as {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8}). The index may indicate or be used to determine which time slot the HARQ-A for the scheduled PDSCH is to be transmitted on the PUCCH. Additionally, the configuration setting 324 may include a PUCCH resource indicator (PRI). The PRI may include an index for determining a PUCCH resource within a PUCCH resource set. In some implementations, the PRI in the last DCI is considered (in all DCIs with K1 values indicating the same time slot for PUCCH transmission).
[0117] The mapping information 326 information may include one or more data structures for mapping PRI field code points to one or more interpreted PRI values, as described herein at least with reference to Figure 5 As further described, the TCI state information 328 may be a TCI code point, which may correspond to one or two TCI states in the DCI.
[0118] The transmitter 310 is configured to transmit data to one or more other devices, and the receiver 312 is configured to receive data from one or more other devices. For example, the transmitter 310 can transmit data, and the receiver 312 can receive data via a network (such as a wired network, a wireless network, or a combination thereof). For example, the base station 105 can be configured to transmit or receive data via a direct device-to-device connection, a local area network (LAN), a wide area network (WAN), a modem-to-modem connection, the Internet, an intranet, an extranet, a cable transmission system, a cellular communication network, any combination of the above, or any other communication network now known or later developed that allows two or more electronic devices to communicate. In some implementations, the transmitter 310 and the receiver 312 can be replaced with a transceiver. Additionally or alternatively, the transmitter 310, the receiver 312, or both may include or correspond to the reference Figure 2 One or more components of a base station 105 are described.
[0119] The RRC configuration generator 314 is configured to generate one or more RRC configuration settings. For example, the RRC configuration generator 314 may generate one or more RRC configuration settings based on the UE information 320, the beam information 322, the configuration settings 324, the mapping information 326, the TCI state information 328, or a combination thereof.
[0120] UE 115 includes a processor 330, a memory 332, a transmitter 334, a receiver 336, a setting identifier 337, a resource selector 338, and a beamformer 339. Processor 330 may be configured to execute instructions stored in memory 332 to perform operations described herein. In some implementations, processor 330 includes or corresponds to controller / processor 280, and memory 332 includes or corresponds to memory 282. Memory 332 may also be configured to store one or more repetition settings 340 and mapping information 326. The one or more repetition settings 340 may be used by UE 115 to perform PUCCH repetition in one or more time slot positions (such as one or more time slots, one or more sub-time slots, or a combination thereof). In some implementations, repetition settings 340 may include or indicate one or more repetition modes.
[0121] The transmitter 334 is configured to transmit data to one or more other devices, and the receiver 336 is configured to receive data from one or more other devices. For example, the transmitter 334 can transmit data, and the receiver 336 can receive data via a network (such as a wired network, a wireless network, or a combination thereof). For example, the UE 115 can be configured to transmit or receive data via a direct device-to-device connection, a LAN, a WAN, a modem-to-modem connection, the Internet, an intranet, an extranet, a cable transmission system, a cellular communication network, any combination of the above, or any other communication network now known or later developed that allows two or more electronic devices to communicate. In some implementations, the transmitter 334 and the receiver 336 can be replaced with a transceiver. Additionally or alternatively, the transmitter 334, the receiver 336, or both may include or correspond to the reference Figure 2 One or more components of UE 115 are described.
[0122] The setting identifier 337 may receive one or more messages from the base station 105 and determine one or more repetition settings 340, as described herein. The resource selector 338 is configured to select one or more PUCCH resources based on the one or more repetition settings 340. The beamformer 339 is configured to generate or use one or more beams based on the one or more repetition settings.
[0123] During operation of the wireless communication system 300, the base station 105 may send a repetition indicator 360 to the UE 115. The repetition indicator 360 may indicate whether the UE 115 is to perform PUCCH repetition, whether the UE 115 is to perform a single repetition per slot position or multiple repetitions for a slot position, a PUCCH repetition mode (e.g., a PUCCH repetition scheme), or a combination thereof. In some implementations, the repetition indicator 360 may indicate a repetition mode for the UE 115.
[0124] The base station 105 may send a first message 361 to the UE 115. The first message 361 may include or indicate UE information 320, beam information 322, configuration settings 324, TCI state information 328, or a combination thereof. In some implementations, the first message 361 may include or correspond to a repetition indicator 360. As an illustrative, non-limiting example, the first message 361 may include an RRC (e.g., one or more RRCs), a DCI, or a MAC-CE. In some implementations, the first message 361 includes one or more RRCs generated by the RRC configuration generator 314. For example, the RRC configuration generator 314 may generate a first RRC for PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfo, which indicates an index set for one or more resources (e.g., one or more PUCCH resources). As another example, the RRC configuration generator 314 may generate a second RRC for PUCCH-FormatConfig indicating the number of time slots (e.g., the value of the "nrofSlots" field). As another example, the RRC configuration generator 314 may generate a third RRC for PUCCH-Config (in Release 15) that indicates “spatialRelationInfoToAddModList” for all PUCCH resources. Note that the second RRC (used for PUCCH-FormatConfig (together with “nrofSlots”)) may be different from the third RRC (used for PUCCH-Config (in Release 15)) that indicates “spatialRelationInfoToAddModList” for all PUCCH resources.
[0125] The UE 115 receives the repetition indicator 360, the first message 361, or both, and the setting identifier 337 processes the repetition indicator 360, the first message 361, or both to determine a repetition setting 340 (e.g., a PUCCH repetition setting). For example, the setting identifier 337 may process the repetition indicator 360, the first message 361, or both according to a repetition mode (e.g., a repetition scheme) (such as a selected mode among a plurality of repetition modes). In some implementations, the mode may be indicated by the repetition indicator 360 or selected based on the repetition indicator 360. After the repetition setting 340 is determined, the UE 115 may perform repetitions based on the repetition setting 340—e.g., transmit one or more PUCCH repetitions. For example, the resource selector 338 may select one or more resources (such as one or more PUCCH resources) based on the repetition setting 340. Additionally or alternatively, the beamformer 339 may select one or more beams based on the repetition setting 340. To illustrate, the resource selector 338 may select a first resource (e.g., a first PUCCH resource) for the first repetition 362, and the beamformer 339 may select a first beam for the first resource. As another example, the resource selector 338 may select a second resource (e.g., a second PUCCH resource) for the second repetition 363, and the beamformer 339 may select a second beam (different from the first beam) for the second resource.
[0126] UE 115 transmits the first repetition 362, the second repetition 363, or both based on the repetition setting 340. For illustration, UE 115 may transmit the first repetition 362 and the second repetition during one or more time slot positions. The one or more time slot positions may include or correspond to one or more time slots, one or more sub-time slots, or a combination thereof. As an example, the first repetition 362 (for the first resource) is transmitted using a first beam in a plurality of beams during a first time slot position, while the second repetition (for the second resource) is transmitted using a second beam in a plurality of beams during a second time slot position. As another example, the first repetition 362 (for the first resource) is transmitted using a first beam in a plurality of beams during a first time slot position, while the second repetition (for the second resource) is transmitted using a second beam in a plurality of beams during a first time slot position.
[0127] The base station 105 may receive the first repetition 362, the second repetition 363, or both. The base station 105 may process the first repetition 362, the second repetition 363, or both based at least on the configuration settings 325.
[0128] In some implementations, the UE 115 is configured with PUCCH repetitions via nrofSlots for the PUCCH format and the PUCCH resource is used. In such implementations, the UE 115 may not use an activated PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfo for the PUCCH resource.
[0129] To illustrate, according to a first mode of operation (e.g., a first scheme or a first option), UE 115 (e.g., 337) identifies a set of indices configured by RRC for PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfo to be used (configured in IE PUCCH-Config for all PUCCH resources in the BWP). During a first slot position, UE 115 transmits a first repetition 362 using a first beam (e.g., lowest ID: PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfoId); during a second slot position, UE 115 transmits a second repetition 363 using a second beam (e.g., next ID); and so on. In some implementations, UE 115 selects between the first option and a Release 15 behavior in which each repetition is sent using the same beam.
[0130] In some implementations of the first option, the first repetition 362 (e.g., the repetition of the initial transmission) may use the activated PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfo for the resources used (e.g., PUCCH resources). The activated PUCCH-SpatialRlationInfo for the resources may be indicated in the MAC-CE. For one or more remaining repetitions (e.g., repetition(s) after the repetition of the initial transmission), the index set configured by RRC for PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfo may be used.
[0131] refer to Figure 4 , an example of a first option is shown and generally designated as 400. Example 400 shows a plurality of time slot positions, such as a first time slot position 430 (e.g., time slot position_0), a second time slot position 431 (e.g., time slot position_1), a third time slot position 432 (e.g., time slot position_2), and a fourth time slot position 433 (e.g., time slot position_3). Although four time slot positions are shown, this should not be considered limiting and there may be less than or more than four time slot positions. A time slot position may include a time slot (e.g., the entirety of a time slot) or a sub-time slot. As an example of a sub-time slot, each of the first time slot position 430 and the second time slot position 431 may be a sub-time slot of the same time slot.
[0132] like Figure 4As shown, the number of time slot positions is equal to four. For example, in some implementations, nrofSlots (or "nrofSubslots") is equal to four. Referring to example 400, in PUCCH-Config, "spatialRelationInfoToAddModList" contains three beams (ID = 0, 1, 2), but for pucch-ResourceId = x, beam_2 (i.e., PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfoId = 2) is activated through MAC-CE. In other words, three beams can be used for all resources (e.g., PUCCH resources), and for resource x, beam_2 is activated based on MAC-CE. As Figure 4 As shown, the three beams include a first beam 440 (e.g., beam_0), a second beam 441 (e.g., beam_1), and a third beam 442 (e.g., beam_2). Figure 4 , repetitions in the same resource (e.g., the same PUCCH resource), namely, resource x, are shown. According to the first mode, the first slot position 430 uses the third beam 442 (e.g., beam_2) for repetition because the third beam 442 (e.g., beam_2) is the activated beam for resource x based on MAC-CE. After the first slot position 430, a set of three beams is used for (e.g., cycles through) the remaining slot positions. To illustrate, for repetition of resource x, the first beam 440 (e.g., beam_0) is used for the second slot position 431; the second beam 441 (e.g., beam_1) is used for the third slot position 431; and the third beam 442 (e.g., beam_2) is used for the fourth slot position 443.
[0133] like Figure 4 As shown, for the remaining repetitions (after the initial repetitions), the beam used for the initial time slot position (e.g., the third beam 442 (e.g., beam_2) - the activated beam) is reused in the beam set (440, 441, 442). In other implementations, the beam used for the initial time slot position (e.g., the third beam 442 (e.g., beam_2) - the activated beam) may no longer be used for the remaining repetitions (after the initial repetitions). In such implementations, the first beam 440 (e.g., beam_0) is used for the second time slot position 431; the second beam 441 (e.g., beam_1) is used for the third time slot position 432; and the first beam 440 (e.g., beam_0) is used for the fourth time slot position 443. Note that if the number of beams in the PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfoId is less than the number of slot positions (e.g., "nrofSlots" or "nrofsubSlots"), then after traversing the set, the available beams are cycled through one or more times as needed until the number of slot positions is completed."
[0134] According to a second operating mode (e.g., a second scheme or a second option), the UE 115 (e.g., 337) identifies a set of one or more beams (e.g., a set of PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfoId for repeated beams) based on or using a second RRC for PUCCH-FormatConfig. For example, in the second mode, the number of slot positions and the beam set for repetition may be defined by the PUCCH-FormatConfig for each of the one or more formats. In some implementations, the beam set may have the same number of beams as the number of slot positions - that is, a one-to-one correspondence between beams and slot positions. Note that if the number of beams in the PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfoId is less than the number of time slot positions (e.g., "nrofSlots" or "nrofsubSlots"), then after traversing the set, the available beams are cycled through one or more times as needed until the number of time slot positions is completed." In some implementations of the second mode, if the beam set includes a single beam, the resource (e.g., a PUCCH resource) can be switched to operation according to Release 15, where the same beam is used for repetition for each time slot position for that resource.
[0135] Note that each of the first mode and the second mode can be used for both time slots (inter-time slot repetition) and sub-time slots (intra-time slot repetition). For example, the beam set can be cycled through on a per-time slot or per-sub-time slot basis. As another example, when the slot position set includes two or more time slots each having multiple sub-time slots, the beam set can be cycled through per sub-time slot. As another example, when the slot position set includes two or more time slots each having multiple sub-time slots, the beam set can be cycled through per time slot, where the beam is used for multiple sub-time slots of its corresponding time slot.
[0136] In some implementations, the UE 115 may transmit a first PUCCH repetition (e.g., 362) for a first slot position and a second PUCCH repetition (e.g., 363) for a second slot position for a PUCCH resource. For example, the first PUCCH repetition may be transmitted using a second beam in a plurality of beams for a first slot position of a plurality of slot positions. The plurality of slot positions may include a plurality of slots or a plurality of subslots of a slot. In some implementations, such as when the UE 115 is configured according to a first mode, the UE 115 receives an RRC configuration (e.g., 361) including PUCCH resources. The UE 115 may also identify a set of indices for one or more PUCCH resources. Each index in the set of indices corresponds to a different beam in a plurality of beams. For example, the UE 115 (e.g., 337) identifies a set of indices configured by the RRC for the PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfo to be used (configured for all PUCCH resources in the BWP in the IE PUCCH-Config). Alternatively, in other implementations, such as when the UE 115 is configured according to the second mode, the UE 115 may identify a set of indices for one PUCCH resource (e.g., a single resource), wherein each index in the set of indices corresponds to a different beam in the plurality of beams. For example, the UE 115 may identify a set of indices defined by the PUCCH-FormatConfig for each of the one or more formats.
[0137] According to a third mode of operation (e.g., a third scheme or a third option), the UE 115 may identify one or more resources (e.g., PUCCH resources) based on a PRI field code point in a DCI (e.g., 361). For example, the PRI field code point may indicate (e.g., point to) one PRI value or two PRI values. The PRI value may indicate a PUCCH resource within a PUCCH resource set. The PRI field code point may be mapped to one or more "interpreted" PRI values using mapping information 326. The mapping between the PRI field code point in the DCI and the one or more interpreted PRI values may be configured based on or in response to a repetition indicator 360 or based on a first message 361 (such as in response to an RRC configuration or a MAC-CE). When multiple PRI values are interpreted, multiple resources (e.g., PUCCH resources) may be identified for repetition during a slot position. For example, UE 115 may use a first PUCCH resource among multiple PUCCH resources to transmit a first PUCCH repetition (e.g., 362) among multiple PUCCH repetitions within a time slot position, and use a second PUCCH resource among multiple PUCCH resources to transmit a second PUCCH repetition (e.g., 363) among multiple PUCCH repetitions within the same time slot position (e.g., a time slot or a subslot).
[0138] refer to Figure 5 , an example of a data structure for mapping a PRI field code point 502 to one or more interpreted PRI values 520 is shown and designated as 500. Each PRI field code point is listed as an integer with a corresponding binary representation in brackets. As shown, for the case of one interpreted PRI value or two interpreted PRI values, the first PRI value is the same as the code point in the DCI. Accordingly, in such implementations, only the second interpreted PRI is configured by RRC or activated by MAC-CE. Additionally, it is noted that the second interpreted PRI for some code points may be "empty", that is, the code point indicates only one PRI value. When there are two interpreted PRI values, the corresponding PUCCH resources may have different MAC-CE activated PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfo. For example, the first interpreted value corresponds to a first PUCCH resource using a first beam, and the second interpreted value corresponds to a second PUCCH resource using a second beam. In other implementations, the first PRI value is different from the code point in the DCI, and the first interpreted value is configured by RRC or activated by MAC-CE, while the second interpreted value is configured by RRC or activated by MAC-CE. Although data structure 500 has been described as mapping PRI field code points to one or two interpreted PRI values, in other implementations, data structure 500 may be configured to map PRI field code points to more than two interpreted PRI values.
[0139] According to a fourth operating mode (e.g., a fourth scheme or a fourth option), the UE 115 also uses the PRI field code point to determine repetitions (e.g., PUCCH repetitions). In some implementations, the fourth mode and the third mode are part of the same operating mode. During the fourth mode, the UE 115 receives DCI scheduling PDSCH from the network (e.g., the base station 105), and the PRI field may be used to indicate whether to use two PUCCH resources to repeat the PUCCH content (HARQ-Ack codebook in the case of UCI multiplexing together with other UCI). For example, the DCI (e.g., 361) may include a downlink (DL) DCI scheduling a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), and the PUCCH repetition includes a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-ACK codebook.
[0140] refer to Figure 6, an example of a fourth mode is shown and designated as 600. As shown, the example includes time slot positions 430-433. During each of the time slot positions 430-432, DCI and data are communicated. For example, during the first time slot position 430, a first DCI 610 and data 616 are communicated; during the second time slot position 431, a second DCI 620 and second data 626 are communicated; and during the third time slot position 432, a third DCI 630 and third data are communicated. Each DCI may have a corresponding K1 value and may indicate one or more PRI values 624. For example, the first DCI 610 includes a first K1 value 612 (e.g., K1=3) and indicates a first PRI value set 614 (e.g., PRI: a, b); the second DCI 620 includes a second K1 value 622 (e.g., K1=2) and indicates a second PRI value set 624 (e.g., PRI: a, c); and the third DCI 630 includes a third K1 value 632 (e.g., K1=1) and indicates a third PRI value set 634. In some implementations, the UE 155 receives each of the DCIs 610, 620, 630. During the fourth slot position 433, the UE 115 transmits PUCCH resources 640 and PUCCH resources 650, as described herein. In some implementations, one or more of the DCIs 610, 620, 630 indicate more than two PRI values.
[0141] During the fourth mode, the UE 115 receives the DCIs 610, 620, 630 and identifies a set of DCIs in which each DCI has the same HARQ feedback timing indicator field (e.g., K1 value) indicating the same slot position of the PUCCH transmission for HARQ-ACK feedback. Figure 6 As shown in FIG. 4 , each of the DCIs 610 , 620 , 630 indicates a fourth slot position 433 for PUCCH transmission for HARQ-ACK feedback.
[0142] In a first implementation of the fourth mode, the UE 115 identifies the last detected DCI (e.g., 630) in the set of DCIs 610, 620, 630. The UE 115 determines whether to perform PUCCH repetition if the corresponding PRI field code point (e.g., 634) of the last detected DCI (e.g., 630) indicates multiple PRI values. As shown, the third DCI 630 indicates the PRI value 634 as PRI: d - a single PRI. Since the PRI value 634 indicates a single PRI value, the UE 315 will use PUCCH resources 640 (e.g., PUCCH resource d corresponding to PRI value d) to send HARQ-ACK feedback during the fourth time slot position 433. In such an implementation, the UE 115 will not use PUCCH resources 650 (e.g., PUCCH resource c). Alternatively, if the third DCI 630 indicates PRI values d and c, the UE 115 will perform a repetition during the fourth time slot position 433 and will use PUCCH resources 640 (e.g., PUCCH resource d corresponding to PRI value d) and PUCCH resources 650 (e.g., PUCCH resource c corresponding to PRI value c) to send HARQ-ACK feedback during the fourth time slot position 433.
[0143] In a second implementation of the fourth mode, the UE 115 identifies the last detected DCI (e.g., 630) in the set of DCIs 610, 620, 630. The UE 115 determines whether to perform PUCCH repetition if at least one DCI in the set of DCIs 610, 620, 630 has a corresponding PRI field code point indicating multiple PRI values. As shown, both the first DCI 610 and the second DCI indicate multiple PRI values, so the UE 115 determines to perform repetition. If the last detected DCI (e.g., 630) indicates multiple PRI values, the UE 115 will use the PRI value indicated by the third DCI 630. Alternatively, if the last detected DCI (e.g., 630) indicates a single PRI value as shown, the UE 115 performs repetition using a first PUCCH resource 640 (e.g., PUCCH resource d) corresponding to the single PRI value and using a second PUCCH resource 650 (e.g., resource c) corresponding to the most recently received DCI (e.g., 620) including values of PRI field code points corresponding to multiple PRI values in at least one received DCI (e.g., 610, 620). Note that if the second DCI 620 indicates a single PRI value, the most recently received DCI including values of PRI field code points corresponding to multiple PRI values in at least one received DCI (e.g., 610) is the first DCI 610, and thus the UE 115 will use PUCCH resource b as the second PUCCH resource 650.
[0144] In some implementations, the fourth mode may be used based on a determination that a TCI field in at least one DCI 610, 620, 630 points to two TCI states (PDSCH multi-TRP scheme SDM / FDM / TDM). In a specific implementation, the fourth mode may be used based on a determination that a TCI in each of the DCIs 610, 620, 630 (having the same HARQ feedback timing indicator field (e.g., K1 value) indicating the same slot position of PUCCH transmission for HARQ-ACK feedback) points to two TCI states. If at least one DCI does not have a TCI field pointing to two TCI states, or alternatively, less than all DCIs have TCIs pointing to two TCI states, the UE 115 may operate according to the Release 15 behavior for PRI values. Additionally or alternatively, it is noted that the fourth mode may be used with the third mode and a mapping data structure (such as data structure 500). Accordingly, the fourth mode may operate based on the interpreted PRI value indicated by the DCI 610 , 620 , 630 .
[0145] In a third implementation of the fourth mode, the UE 115 identifies a PRI value, such as an interpreted PRI value. The UE selects a first interpreted PRI value as the PRI code point value, and determines a first PUCCH resource for repetition based on the first interpreted PRI value (e.g., 640). The UE determines whether to use an additional (e.g., second) PUCCH resource based on one or more rules, such as one or more conditions. For example, the UE may select a second PUCCH resource from among all other PUCCH resources within a PUCCH resource set so that it: does not overlap with the first PUCCH resource; starts after the first PUCCH resource; has a PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfo activated by a different MAC-CE than the first PUCCH resource; the corresponding PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfo has the same quasi-co-located (QCL) source as the second TCI state; or a combination thereof. Note that the condition that the corresponding PUCCH-SpatialRelationInfo has the same QCL source as the second TCI state may only apply to situations where the TCI field in the DCI points to two TCI states. The fourth operating mode or any implementation of the fourth mode described herein may be an RRC configuration.
[0146] refer to Figure 7, an example of a third implementation of the fourth mode is shown and designated as 700. As shown, DCI 710 (e.g., 361) includes two TCI states - TCI state i and TCI state j - and corresponds to PDSCH 720 and PDSCH 730. The PRI value code point (a) of DCI 710 is interpreted as PRI values a and b. UE 115 selects the first interpreted PRI value for the first PUCCH resource 740. For the second PUCCH resource 750, UE 115 determines that TCI state j and PUCCH SpatialRelationInfo for PUCCH resource b have the same QCL source. Based on those conditions, UE 115 selects the second PUCCH resource 750 based on PRI value b.
[0147] therefore, Figure 3 PUCCH repetitions are described. For example, a configuration may transmit multiple repetitions (e.g., 362, 363) using different resources or different beams. Multiple repetitions (e.g., 362, 363) may be transmitted during the same time slot position or during different time slot positions. Additionally, UE 115 may be configured to perform PUCCH repetitions based on one or more modes. Each of the one or more modes provides UE 115 with greater flexibility to perform PUCCH repetitions that are not implemented by conventional systems. Accordingly, PUCCH repetitions are more likely to be received during dynamically changing network conditions compared to conventional systems.
[0148] Figure 8-12 1 is a block diagram illustrating example blocks executed by a UE configured according to an aspect of the present disclosure. Figure 8 The description is made using the UE 115 illustrated in FIG. Fig. 20 1 is a block diagram illustrating a UE 115 configured according to one aspect of the present disclosure. The UE 115 includes a Figure 2 1 or 3. For example, the UE 115 includes a controller / processor 280 that operates to execute logic or computer instructions stored in a memory 282 and to control various components of the UE 115 that provide the features and functionality of the UE 115. The UE 115 transmits and receives signals via wireless radios 2001a-r and antennas 252a-r under the control of the controller / processor 280. The wireless radios 2001a-r include various components and hardware, such as those shown in FIG. Figure 215 , including demodulators / modulators 254a-r, MIMO detectors 256, receive processors 258, transmit processors 264, and TX MIMO processors 266. As shown, memory 282 may include repetition settings 2002, mapping information 2003, setting identifier logic 2004, resource selector logic 2005, and beamformer logic 2006. Repetition settings 2002 and mapping information 2003 may include or correspond to repetition settings 340 and mapping information 326, respectively. Setting identifier logic 2004 may include or correspond to setting identifiers 337. Resource selector logic 2005 may include or correspond to resource selector 338. Beamformer logic 2006 may include or correspond to beamformer 339. In some aspects, the setup identifier logic 2004, the resource selector logic 2005, the beamformer logic 2006, or a combination thereof may include or correspond to the processor(s) 280. The UE 115 may receive a beam from a base station such as Figure 3 Base station 105 or Fig.21 The base station 105 illustrated in the figure receives signals or transmits signals to the base station.
[0149] refer to Figure 8 At block 800 , the UE receives an RRC configuration including PUCCH resources. To illustrate, the UE may receive the RRC via wireless radios 2001a - r and antennas 252a - r. The RRC configuration may include or correspond to the first message 361 .
[0150] At block 801, the UE determines an index set for one or more PUCCH resources. Each index in the index set may correspond to a different beam in a plurality of beams. The plurality of beams may include a first beam and a second beam. For illustration, the UE may determine the index set using setting identifier logic 2004. The index set may include or correspond to (all) repetition settings 340.
[0151] In block 802, the UE transmits a first PUCCH repetition in a plurality of PUCCH repetitions using a first beam for a first slot position in a plurality of slot positions for a PUCCH resource; and transmits a second PUCCH repetition in a plurality of PUCCH repetitions using a second beam for a second slot position in the plurality of slot positions. For illustration, the UE may transmit the first PUCCH repetition and the second PUCCH repetition via wireless radios 2001a-r and antennas 252a-r. The first repetition and the second repetition may include or correspond to a first repetition 362 and a second repetition 363, respectively. In some implementations, the PUCCH resource may be selected by resource selector logic 2005. Additionally or alternatively, the first beam and the second beam may be generated using beamformer logic 2006. In some implementations, the first beam corresponds to a first index in an index set, the second beam corresponds to a second index in an index set, or both. In some implementations, the plurality of slot positions include a plurality of slots or a plurality of subslots of a slot.
[0152] In some implementations, the PUCCH resource configuration indicates a set of resource blocks (RBs), a set of symbols, a PUCCH format, or a combination thereof. In some such implementations, the PUCCH format indicates that PUCCH repetition is to be performed based on a value of a number of slots field (such as an "nrofSlots" field of an RRC configuration). Additionally or alternatively, the block may include the UE determining whether to perform PUCCH repetition using the same beam for multiple slot positions or using multiple beams for multiple slot positions based on the RRC configuration.
[0153] In some implementations, the block may include the UE receiving a media access control (MAC)-control element (CE) for a PUCCH resource and determining an activated beam for the PUCCH resource based on the MAC-CE. To illustrate, the set identifier logic 2004 may be used to determine the activated beam.
[0154] In some implementations, transmitting the PUCCH repetition includes: using the activation beam for a first slot position (e.g., an initial slot position) in a plurality of slot positions; and using the plurality of beams for slot positions in the plurality of slot positions that occur after the first slot position. In some such implementations, the activation beam is included as one of the plurality of beams for slot positions in the plurality of slot positions that occur after the first slot position. Alternatively, the activation beam is omitted as one of the plurality of beams for slot positions in the plurality of slot positions that occur after the first slot position. To illustrate, the activation beam may be included in or omitted from the plurality of beams based on the repetition setting(s) 2002.
[0155] In some implementations, the number of the plurality of beams is equal to the number of slot positions of the plurality of slot positions - e.g., there is a one-to-one correspondence between the plurality of beams and the number of slot positions. If the number of the plurality of beams is less than the number of slot positions of the plurality of slot positions, transmitting the PUCCH repetitions includes: cycling through the plurality of beams for a first set of slot positions in the plurality of slot positions, the first set of slot positions including a number of slot positions equal to the number of the plurality of beams; and using one or more beams of the plurality of beams for a second set of slot positions in the plurality of slot positions.
[0156] refer to Fig. 9 At block 900 , the UE receives a first RRC configuration including PUCCH resources. To illustrate, the UE may receive the first RRC via wireless radios 2001a - r and antennas 252a - r. The first RRC configuration may include or correspond to a first message 361 .
[0157] At block 901, the UE receives a second RRC configuration including a PUCCH format. For illustration, the UE may receive the second RRC via wireless radios 2001a-r and antennas 252a-r. The first RRC configuration may include or correspond to a first message 361. In some implementations, the first and second RRCs are included in the same message. In other implementations, the first RRC and the second RRC are included in different messages.
[0158] In some implementations, the first RRC configuration may include or correspond to a PUCCH-Config for all PUCCH resources (e.g., "spatialRelationInfoToAddModList"). Additionally or alternatively, the second RRC configuration may include or correspond to a PUCCH-FormatConfig (optionally also having a number of slots (e.g., "nrofSlots") field). Accordingly, RRC parameters for multiple beams (e.g., for repetition purposes) may be defined based on the first RRC, the second RRC, or both the first and second RRCs. In some implementations, the second RRC includes multiple PUCCH formats, and for each PUCCH format included in the second RRC configuration, the second RRC configuration indicates a corresponding set of one or more beams.
[0159] At block 902, the UE determines a plurality of beams based on PUCCH resources and a PUCCH format. The plurality of beams may include a first beam and a second beam. In some implementations, the number of the plurality of beams is equal to the number of slot positions of the plurality of slot positions—for example, there is a one-to-one correspondence between the plurality of beams and the number of slot positions.
[0160] In block 903, the UE transmits a first PUCCH repetition in a plurality of PUCCH repetitions using a first beam for a first slot position in a plurality of slot positions for a PUCCH resource; and transmits a second PUCCH repetition in a plurality of PUCCH repetitions using a second beam for a second slot position in a plurality of slot positions. The first slot position and the second slot position may be different slot positions.
[0161] In some implementations, the box may include, after transmitting the PUCCH resource, the UE receiving a third RRC configuration including a second PUCCH resource and a fourth RRC configuration including a second PUCCH format; and determining whether the set of one or more beams of the second PUCCH resource includes a single beam. If the set of one or more beams includes a single beam, the UE may perform PUCCH repetitions (such as PUCCH repetitions across multiple time slot positions) using the single beam, wherein each PUCCH repetition is transmitted using the same beam (e.g., the same beam pattern). In some implementations, when the number of the multiple beams is less than the number of time slot positions of the multiple time slot positions, performing the PUCCH repetition includes: cycling through the multiple beams for a first set of time slot positions in the multiple time slot positions, the first set of time slot positions including a number of time slot positions equal to the number of the multiple beams; and using one or more beams of the multiple beams for a second set of time slot positions in the multiple time slot positions.
[0162] refer to Fig.10 At block 1000, the UE receives downlink control information (DCI) including a PRI field code point. For illustration, the UE may receive the DCI via wireless radios 2001a-r and antennas 252a-r. The DCI may include or correspond to a first message 361.
[0163] In block 1001, the UE determines, based on the PRI field code point, whether to transmit PUCCH repetitions within a time slot position using a single PUCCH resource or to transmit multiple PUCCH repetitions within the time slot position using multiple PUCCH resources in response to determining that multiple PUCCH repetitions within the time slot position are to be transmitted using multiple PUCCH resources. For example, the UE may determine, based on the PRI field code point, to transmit PUCCH repetitions within a time slot position using a single PUCCH resource so that repetitions do not occur within the time slot position, but may occur across multiple time slot positions. As another example, the UE may determine, based on the PRI field code point, to transmit PUCCH repetitions within a time slot position using multiple PUCCH repetitions of multiple PUCCH resources within the time slot position so that repetitions occur within the time slot position, as further described herein. The time slot position may include a time slot or a sub-time slot of the time slot. In some implementations, the time slot position is a sub-time slot of a time slot.
[0164] In block 1002, a UE transmits a plurality of PUCCH repetitions within a time slot position using a plurality of PUCCH resources. In some implementations, transmitting the plurality of PUCCH repetitions comprises: transmitting a first PUCCH repetition of the plurality of PUCCH repetitions within the time slot position using a first PUCCH resource of the plurality of PUCCH resources; and transmitting, by the UE, a second PUCCH repetition of the plurality of PUCCH repetitions within the time slot position using a second PUCCH resource of the plurality of PUCCH resources. For illustration, the UE may transmit the first PUCCH repetition and the second PUCCH repetition via wireless radios 2001a-r and antennas 252a-r. The first PUCCH repetition and the second PUCCH repetition may include or correspond to a first repetition 362 and a second repetition 363, respectively. In some implementations, the PUCCH resources may be selected by resource selector logic 2005. Additionally or alternatively, the first beam and the second beam may be generated using beamformer logic 2006.
[0165] In some implementations, the UE identifies the PRI field code point based on the DCI.To illustrate, the UE may use set identifier logic 2004 to identify the PRI field code point.
[0166] In some implementations, a block may be included in which the UE maps the PRI field code point to a set of one or more interpreted PRI values. In some such implementations, prior to mapping, the block may include the UE receiving an RRC configuration, and configuring the UE based on the RRC configuration to map the PRI field code point to the set of one or more interpreted PRI values. Alternatively, prior to mapping, the UE may receive a MAC-CE, and mapping functionality may be activated at the UE based on the MAC-CE to map the PRI field code point to the set of one or more interpreted PRI values.
[0167] In some implementations, a set of one or more interpreted PRI values includes a single interpreted PRI value. In some implementations, a PRI field code point may be mapped to a single interpreted value. For example, the interpreted PRI value may be mapped to a value that is the same as or different from the value of the PRI field code point. Alternatively, a set of one or more interpreted PRI values may include multiple interpreted PRI values. In some such implementations, at least one of the multiple interpreted PRI values has the same value as the value of the PRI field code point. When the PRI field code point is mapped to multiple interpreted PRI values, the multiple interpreted PRI values may include a first interpreted PRI value corresponding to a first PUCCH resource and a second interpreted PRI value corresponding to a second PUCCH resource. The first PUCCH resource may correspond to a first activation beam, and the second PUCCH resource may correspond to a second activation beam different from the first activation beam.
[0168] In some implementations, the DCI may include a downlink (DL) DCI that schedules a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), and the PUCCH repetition includes a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-ACK codebook. Additionally or alternatively, a frame may be included in which the UE receives multiple DCIs (such as multiple DCIs including the DCI). Each of the multiple DCIs may include a corresponding PRI code point and a corresponding hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback timing indicator field. In some implementations, the corresponding values of the HARQ feedback timing indicator field of the multiple DCIs indicate the same time slot position of the PUCCH transmission for HARQ-ACK feedback. The UE may identify the last detected DCI of the DCI set, and may determine that PUCCH repetition is to be performed if the corresponding PRI field code point of the last detected DCI indicates or corresponds to multiple PRI values. In some implementations, the UE may determine that PUCCH repetition is to be performed based on at least one DCI in the DCI set having a corresponding PRI field code point indicating or corresponding to multiple PRI values. To illustrate, the UE may identify the last detected DCI in a DCI set, and when the detected DCI corresponds to a single PRI value and at least one DCI in the DCI set has a corresponding PRI field code point indicating multiple PRI values, may use a first PUCCH resource corresponding to the single PRI value and may use a second PUCCH resource corresponding to the most recently received DCI in which at least one received DCI includes a value of a PRI field code point corresponding to multiple PRI values.
[0169] refer to Fig.11At block 1100 , the UE receives DCI including a PRI field code point. For illustration, the UE may receive the DCI via wireless radios 2001a - r and antennas 252a - r. The DCI may include or correspond to a first message 361 .
[0170] At block 1101, the UE maps the PRI field code point to a set of one or more interpreted PRI values. For example, the UE may use mapping information 2003 to map the PRI field code to a set of one or more interpreted PRI values.
[0171] In block 1102, the UE transmits multiple PUCCH repetitions within a time slot position using multiple PUCCH resources based on a set of one or more interpreted PRI values. In some implementations, transmitting the multiple PUCCH repetitions includes: using a first PUCCH resource among the multiple PUCCH resources to transmit a first PUCCH repetition among the multiple PUCCH repetitions within the time slot position; and using a second PUCCH resource among the multiple PUCCH resources to transmit a second PUCCH repetition among the multiple PUCCH repetitions within the time slot position. The time slot position may include a time slot or a sub-time slot of the time slot. In some implementations, the time slot position is a sub-slot of a time slot.
[0172] In some implementations, the UE identifies the PRI field code point based on the DCI.To illustrate, the UE may use set identifier logic 2004 to identify the PRI field code point.
[0173] In some implementations, the box may include the UE determining whether the DCI points to multiple TCI states. The UE may determine not to perform mapping based on the determination that the DCI points to a single TCI state. Alternatively, the UE may determine to perform mapping based on the determination that the DCI points to multiple TCI states. Based on the determination that multiple PUCCH resources are used to perform PUCCH repetition, the UE may select a first PUCCH resource as a first PUCCH resource among multiple PUCCH resources, the first PUCCH resource corresponding to the value of the PRI field code point, and select a second PUCCH resource as a second PUCCH resource among multiple PUCCH resources. For illustration, the UE may use resource selector logic 2005 to select the first and second PUCCH resources. The second PUCCH resource is selected from a set of available PUCCH resources within a PUCCH resource set that excludes the selected PUCCH resource. For example, the second resource may be selected based on satisfying one or more rules / conditions, such as: not overlapping with the first PUCCH resource, starting after the first PUCCH resource, having an activation beam different from the activation beam of the first PUCCH resource, having an activation beam corresponding to the same QCL source as at least one TCI state pointed to by the DCI, or a combination thereof.
[0174] refer to Fig.12 At block 1200 , the UE receives an RRC configuration. To illustrate, the UE may receive the RRC via wireless radios 2001a - r and antennas 252a - r. The RRC configuration may include or correspond to a first message 361 .
[0175] At block 1201, the UE determines whether to transmit multiple PUCCH repetitions based on the RRC configuration. To illustrate, the UE may use set identifier logic 2004 to make such a determination.
[0176] At block 1202, in response to determining that multiple PUCCH repetitions are to be transmitted, the UE determines whether to transmit a single PUCCH repetition within a time slot position using a single PUCCH resource or to transmit multiple PUCCH repetitions within the time slot position using multiple PUCCH resources. For illustration, the UE may use set identifier logic 2004 to make such a determination. The time slot position may include a time slot or a sub-time slot of the time slot. In some implementations, the time slot position is a sub-time slot of a time slot.
[0177] In block 1203, the UE transmits two or more PUCCH repetitions within the time slot position using the multiple PUCCH resources. In some implementations, transmitting the two or more PUCCH repetitions includes: using a first PUCCH resource from the multiple PUCCH resources to transmit a first PUCCH repetition of the two or more PUCCH repetitions within the time slot position; and transmitting, by the UE, a second PUCCH repetition of the two or more PUCCH repetitions within the time slot position using a second PUCCH resource from the multiple PUCCH resources.

In some implementations, the time slot position includes a time slot or a sub-time slot of a time slot.
[0191] refer to Fig.16 At block 1600, the base station identifies a PRI field code point indicating that a mapping of the PRI field code point to a set of one or more interpreted PRI values is to be performed.
