Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a processing apparatus and a recording apparatus. Background Technology
[0002] For example, as in Patent Document 1, there is a printer that serves as both a processing device and a recording device. The printer includes a housing and an NFC (Near Field Communication) antenna, which serves as an example of a near-field wireless communication sensor. The NFC antenna is disposed on the housing.
[0003] For example, regarding the placement of a short-range wireless communication sensor for a housing, it is possible to provide a space for the sensor on the outer surface of the housing and place the sensor within that space. In this case, adding a space for the sensor on the outer surface of the housing affects its appearance. To mitigate this impact on the housing's appearance, improvements are desired in the placement of the short-range wireless communication sensor.

[0018] Hereinafter, with reference to the accompanying drawings, one embodiment of a recording apparatus, which is an example of a processing device, will be described. The recording apparatus of this embodiment is, for example, an inkjet printer that sprays ink, which is an example of a liquid, onto a medium such as paper and performs printing.
[0019] In the accompanying drawings, the recording device is placed on a horizontal plane, with the Z-axis representing the direction of gravity and the X and Y axes representing the directions along the horizontal plane. The X, Y, and Z axes are orthogonal to each other. In the following description, the direction parallel to the X-axis is also referred to as the width direction X, the direction parallel to the Y-axis is also referred to as the depth direction Y, and the direction parallel to the Z-axis is also referred to as the vertical direction Z.
[0020] like Figure 1As shown, a recording device 10, as an example of a processing apparatus, includes a housing 11. The housing 11 is generally rectangular in shape. The housing 11 includes an upper wall 16 and side walls 17. The side walls 17 include a front wall 12, a rear wall 13, a first side wall 14, and a second side wall 15. The front wall 12 is located in the depth direction Y compared to the rear wall 13. The second side wall 15 is located in the width direction X compared to the first side wall 14. The second side wall 15 is connected to the ends of the front wall 12 and the rear wall 13 in the width direction X. The first side wall 14 is connected to the ends of the front wall 12 and the rear wall 13 in the opposite direction of the width direction X. The upper wall 16 is connected to the upper ends of the front wall 12, the rear wall 13, the first side wall 14, and the second side wall 15. The upper wall 16 can extend parallel to the horizontal plane.
[0021] like Figure 2 As shown, the recording apparatus 10 may include a mounting section 19 on which a cylindrical roll body 18 can be mounted. The roll body 18 is formed by winding a recording medium 20 onto a core member 18a. Multiple roll bodies 18 can be mounted in the mounting section 19. Both ends of each roll body 18 in the width direction X are rotatably mounted to a holding portion (not shown) in the mounting section 19. The mounting section 19 opens at a portion in the vertical direction Z of the front wall 12 of the housing 11. The mounting section 19 forms part of the internal space of the housing 11 in the vertical direction Z.
[0022] The recording device 10 may have a plate-shaped support platform 21 inside the housing 11. The support platform 21 is located above the mounting section 19. The width dimension X of the support platform 21 is larger than the width dimension X of the recording medium 20. The support platform 21 can support the recording medium 20 on its upper surface.
[0023] like Figure 3 As shown, the recording apparatus 10 may include a supply unit 26 for supplying the recording medium 20, a transport unit 28 for transporting the recording medium 20 along a transport path 27 indicated by double-dotted lines in the drawings, and a control unit 29. The housing 11 houses the transport path 27. The transport path 27 may be mounted on a support platform 21. The transport path 27 is connected to a discharge port 12h that opens into the front wall 12.
[0024] The feed unit 26 rotates the roll body 18 by driving the drive motor 26a. As the roll body 18 rotates, the recording medium 20 is unwound from the roll body 18 and fed onto the transport path 27.
[0025] The conveying unit 28 may include multiple pairs of conveying rollers 30. The recording medium 20 is conveyed along the conveying path 27 in the conveying direction D by the rotation of the conveying roller pairs 30 while holding the recording medium 20. The conveying direction D is along the conveying path 27.
[0026] The control unit 29 can control various actions performed in the recording device 10. The control unit 29 can be configured as a circuit including the following devices: α: one or more processors that execute various processes according to a computer program; β: one or more dedicated hardware circuits such as an application-specific integrated circuit that executes at least a portion of the various processes; or γ: a combination of these. The processor includes a CPU (Central Processing Unit) and memories such as ROM (Read Only Memory) and RAM (Random Access Memory), which store program code or instructions configured to cause the CPU to perform processes. Memory, or computer-readable medium, includes all readable media accessible by a general-purpose or special-purpose computer.
[0027] Recording Department 22
[0028] like Figure 3 As shown, the recording apparatus 10 includes a recording unit 22, which is an example of a processing unit. The recording unit 22 is disposed inside the housing 11. The recording unit 22 may include a carriage 23 that moves in the scanning direction S, a rod-shaped guide shaft 24 that extends in the width direction X, and a carriage motor 23a. The scanning direction S may be a direction parallel to the X-axis. The carriage 23 is supported on the guide shaft 24. The carriage 23 is driven by the carriage motor 23a and can reciprocate along the guide shaft 24. The carriage 23 and the guide shaft 24 are separated from the support platform 21 and located above it.
[0029] Record Head 31
[0030] like Figure 4 As shown, the recording unit 22 includes a recording head 25 for performing recording on the recording medium 20. That is, it can be said that the recording apparatus 10 includes a recording head 25. The recording head 25 has a nozzle surface 25b through which the nozzle 25a opens.
[0031] The carriage 23 carries the recording head 25. The recording head 25 scans in the scanning direction S by moving together with the carriage 23. The recording head 25 moves above and separate from the support platform 21. The nozzle surface 25b can be parallel to the upper surface of the support platform 21. The recording head 25 records the recording medium 20 by ejecting liquid from the nozzle 25a onto the recording medium 20 on the support platform 21.
[0032] Furthermore, the transport direction D of the transport path 27 on the support platform 21 is parallel to the Y-axis. The scanning direction S of the recording head 25 is parallel to the X-axis. Therefore, it can be said that the recording head 25 performs recording by scanning in a direction different from the transport direction D of the recording medium 20.
[0033] Cover 31
[0034] like Figure 4 As shown, the recording device 10 includes a cover 31 as an example of a maintenance component. The cover 31 is disposed inside the housing 11. The cover 31 can be configured to reciprocate along the Z-axis via a cover motor 32. With the drive of the cover motor 32, the cover 31 moves between an isolated position, which is a lower position, and a contact position, which is an upper position. When the cover 31 is in the contact position, the cover 31 contacts the recording head 25, which is stopped in the cover position. The cover position is the position at the end of the scanning area of the recording head 25 in the scanning direction S.
[0035] The cover 31 is used for maintenance of the recording head 25. The cover 31 surrounds the opening of the nozzle 25a of the recording head 25 by covering the nozzle surface 25b. This maintenance of surrounding the opening of the nozzle 25a with the cover 31 is called capping. By capping, the drying of the nozzle 25a is prevented. The cover 31 may also be a structure that uniformly surrounds all the nozzles 25a openings in the nozzle surface 25b.
[0036] Operation Section 33
[0037] like Figure 5 As shown, the recording device 10 may include an operation unit 33 operated by a user. The operation unit 33 may be, for example, a touch panel, and is used when the user inputs various information. The user can input various information to the operation unit 33 by touching various menus displayed on it. The control unit 29 can control the drive of the carriage motor 23a based on the user's input to the operation unit 33, thereby controlling the movement and stopping of the recording head 25.
[0038] The operating part 33 is disposed on the housing 11. The operating part 33 may be disposed on the upper wall 16 of the housing 11. The operating part 33 may also be disposed in a way that is offset in the width direction X compared with the central portion of the housing 11 in the width direction X.
[0039] Cover component 41 and opening 11h
[0040] like Figure 5 As shown, the recording device 10 includes a cover member 41 that can be opened and closed to cover an opening 11h located on the housing 11. The cover member 41 and the opening 11h can be disposed on the upper wall 16 of the housing 11. The cover member 41 and the opening 11h can also be disposed at a position offset in the width direction X compared to the central portion of the upper wall 16 in the width direction X. The operating unit 33 can be arranged side by side with the cover member 41 and the opening 11h in the depth direction Y.
[0041] The imaginary plane that forms the edge of the opening of the housing 11 as a peripheral portion is referred to as the opening surface of the opening 11h. The opening surface of the opening 11h can be a horizontal plane orthogonal to the vertical direction Z. The cover member 41 can be a flat plate extending along the opening surface of the opening 11h.
[0042] The housing 11 may have a large opening 11r larger than the opening 11h and a large cover 45 covering the large opening 11r. The opening 11h and the cover component 41 may be arranged on the upper wall 16 in the width direction X, side by side with the large opening 11r and the large cover 45.
[0043] like Figure 6 As shown, the cover member 41 may be light-transmitting. The cover member 41 may include a support portion 42 that supports the cover member 41 on the upper wall 16. Two support portions 42 are located along the cover end portion 41a, which is the end of the cover member 41. The support portion 42 supports the cover member 41 in a manner that allows it to rotate relative to the housing 11 about a rotation axis extending parallel to the cover end portion 41a. That is, the cover member 41 may be configured to be able to rotate about the cover end portion 41a of the cover member 41. The cover member 41 may be configured to be able to move between an open position where the opening 11h is open and a closed position where the opening 11h is closed by rotational movement. Alternatively, it may be configured such that, due to the overlap of a portion of the large cover 45, the cover member 41 can be moved to the open position when the large cover 45 is in the open position.
[0044] like Figure 7 As shown, the portion of the upper wall 16 that forms the opening 11h and is located around the opening 11h is called the peripheral wall portion 16a. The peripheral wall portion 16a is located at a position Z in the vertical direction compared to the portion of the upper wall 16 other than the peripheral wall portion 16a. The surface of the cover member 41 facing the opening 11h is called the inner surface 41u, and the surface of the cover member 41 opposite to the inner surface 41u is called the outer surface 41t. The outer surface 41t of the cover member 41 can be the same surface as the surface of the portion of the upper wall 16 other than the peripheral wall portion 16a. The inner surface 41u of the cover member 41 can be separated from the peripheral wall portion 16a.
[0045] The recording unit 22 is exposed outside the housing 11 through the opening 11h in the upper wall 16. More specifically, when the recording head 25 in the recording unit 22 is in the cover position, the carriage 23 is exposed outside the housing 11 through the opening 11h. Furthermore, when the recording head 25 moves from the cover position and is no longer above the cover 31, the cover 31 is exposed outside the housing 11 through the opening 11h.
[0046] Pallet component 51
[0047] like Figure 7 As shown, the recording device 10 may include a tray member 51 that overlaps with the opening 11h from the outside of the housing 11. The tray member 51 may be configured in a detachable manner relative to the housing 11. The user is able to install the tray member 51 relative to the housing 11 and remove it from the housing 11.
[0048] The tray component 51 can be positioned above the recording head 25 and the cover 31. The recording head 25 passes below the tray component 51, allowing it to move in the scanning direction S. The tray component 51 overlaps with a portion of the opening 11h in the opposite direction to the width direction X. The tray component 51 is mounted on the housing 11, and when the tray component 51 overlaps with a portion of the opening 11h, the carriage 23 protrudes outside the housing 11 through the portion of the opening 11h that does not overlap with the tray component 51. Alternatively, the tray component 51 can also overlap entirely with the opening 11h.
[0049] like Figure 8 As shown, the tray member 51 may have a generally rectangular box-shaped storage portion 52 that opens upwards, and a protrusion 53 that protrudes from the opening end of the storage portion 52. The storage portion 52 has a generally rectangular bottom wall 54, and an extending mounting wall 55 that extends upwards from the periphery of the bottom wall 54. The tray member 51 may also have a cutout portion 56 in which a portion of the extending mounting wall 55 and the protrusion 53 are cut off. The cutout portion 56 is located at the end of the tray member 51 in the longitudinal direction Y when the tray member 51 is mounted on the upper wall 16 of the housing 11.
[0050] When the tray member 51 is mounted on the upper wall 16 of the housing 11, the protrusion 53 is disposed on the upper wall 16 surrounding the opening 11h, and the bottom wall 54 of the storage portion 52 is located lower than the opening surface of the opening 11h. Thus, the lower portion of the storage portion 52, including the bottom wall 54, is located lower than the opening surface of the opening 11h in an orthogonal direction C. The upper portion of the storage portion 52, including the opening end of the storage portion 52, and the protrusion 53 are located between the opening surface of the opening 11h and the cover member 41 in the orthogonal direction C. Furthermore, the orthogonal direction C can be a direction parallel to the Z-axis direction.
[0051] 61 Short-range wireless communication sensor
[0052] like Figure 7As shown, the recording device 10 includes a near-field communication sensor 61 disposed on the housing 11. The near-field communication sensor 61 is a sensor capable of communicating with a communication terminal via NFC (Near Field Communication). By having the user bring the communication terminal close to the near-field communication sensor 61, the control unit 29 can receive various data from and send various data to the communication terminal via the near-field communication sensor 61.
[0053] The near-field wireless communication sensor 61 can be disposed on the tray member 51, thereby being disposed on the housing 11 via the tray member 51. The near-field wireless communication sensor 61 disposed on the tray member 51 is housed within the housing portion 52 of the tray member 51 and disposed on the bottom wall 54. With the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 disposed on the tray member 51, it is possible to install the tray member 51 onto the upper wall 16 of the housing 11 and to remove the tray member 51 from the upper wall 16. It is also possible to separately install and remove the tray member 51 and the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 relative to the upper wall 16 by mounting the tray member 51 onto the upper wall 16 of the housing 11 and then disposing of the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 on the tray member 51.
[0054] The near-field wireless communication sensor 61 is disposed on the tray member 51, such that when the cover member 41 closes the opening 11h, the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 is positioned between the opening surface of the opening 11h in the orthogonal direction C and the cover member 41. Alternatively, the cover member 41 may be light-transmitting, allowing the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 to be visually confirmed by the user when the cover member 41 closes the opening 11h.
[0055] The near-field wireless communication sensor 61 may include a wiring 61a extending from the near-field wireless communication sensor 61. The wiring 61a may extend such that it approaches the cover end 41a of the cover member 41 from the near-field wireless communication sensor 61. The wiring 61a may, for example, be connected to the control unit 29. Various data transmissions and receptions may be performed between the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 and the control unit 29 via the wiring 61a. The wiring 61a may pass through the cutout 56 of the tray member 51 to connect to the control unit 29.
[0056] Positional relationship between the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 and the operation unit 33
[0057] like Figure 9As shown, the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 can be surrounded by the upper wall 16. Similar to the configuration of the opening 11h relative to the housing 11, the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 can also be configured to be offset in the width direction X compared to the central portion of the housing 11 in the width direction X. Similarly, the operation unit 33 is also configured to be offset in the width direction X compared to the central portion of the housing 11 in the width direction X. The operation unit 33 is not arranged side-by-side with respect to the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 in either the width direction X (different from the orthogonal direction C) or the depth direction Y (different from both the orthogonal direction C and the width direction X).
[0058] The function of this implementation method
[0059] The function of this embodiment will be explained.
[0060] like Figure 9 As shown, the opening 11h in the upper wall 16 of the housing 11 can be used flexibly as a configuration space for the near-field wireless communication sensor 61, in addition to allowing the user to maintain the recording head 25 through the opening 11h.
[0061] The user can extend the communication terminal above the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 with the cover component 41 closing the opening 11h. Figure 9 In the diagram, the configuration areas of the communication terminal are illustrated by double-dotted lines. For example, the communication terminal can be configured as shown in the first configuration area Ra on the surface of the upper wall 16, which includes the portion in the depth direction Y compared to the cover member 41. For example, the communication terminal can be configured as shown in the second configuration area Rb on the outer surface 41t of the cover member 41, which includes the portion in the width direction X compared to the area above the near-field wireless communication sensor 61.
[0062] Effects of this implementation method
[0063] The effects of this implementation method will be explained.
[0064] (1) Since the opening 11h exposes the recording unit 22 to the outside of the housing 11, the user can use the opening 11h for maintenance of the recording unit 22. The near-field wireless communication sensor 61 is located between the opening surface of the opening 11h and the cover member 41. Therefore, the space for the opening 11h used for maintenance and the space for the cover member 41 in the housing 11 can also serve as the space for the near-field wireless communication sensor 61. Therefore, there is no need to provide a new space for the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 on the housing 11, and thus, it is possible to suppress the impact on the appearance of the housing 11 caused by the installation of the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 on the housing 11.
[0065] (2) The cover component 41 and the opening 11h are disposed on the upper wall 16 of the housing 11. Therefore, by placing the communication terminal on the upper wall 16 of the housing 11, data communication between the short-range wireless communication sensor 61 and the communication terminal can be carried out while keeping the communication terminal in a stable position. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the communication terminal from falling off the housing 11 during data communication between the short-range wireless communication sensor 61 and the communication terminal.
[0066] (3) The near-field wireless communication sensor 61 is mounted on the tray component 51. Therefore, the user can separate the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 from the opening 11h of the housing 11 by removing the tray component 51 from the housing 11. Therefore, the user can make extensive use of the opening 11h of the housing 11 to perform maintenance on the recording unit 22, thereby improving the user's work efficiency.
[0067] (4) Since the operation unit 33 and the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 are located offset in the width direction X compared to the central portion of the housing 11, they are close to each other within the housing 11. Therefore, the time difference between the user extending the communication terminal towards the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 and the user operating the operation unit 33 can be shortened. This improves user efficiency.
[0068] (5) The operation unit 33 is located in a position that is not side-by-side with the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 in either the width direction X, which is different from the orthogonal direction C, or the depth direction Y, which is different from both the orthogonal direction C and the width direction X. Within the housing 11, the operation unit 33 is not disposed in a space offset from the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 in the width direction X or in the depth direction Y. Therefore, when the user extends the communication terminal toward the near-field wireless communication sensor 61, the operation unit 33 is less likely to be obstructed by the communication terminal. Thus, the operability of the operation unit 33 performed by the user is improved.
[0069] (6) The cover member 41 can rotate by using the cover end 41a of the cover member 41 as a rotation axis, thereby being able to move between an open position where the opening 11h is open and a closed position where the opening 11h is closed. The near-field wireless communication sensor 61 includes a wiring 61a that extends from the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 near the cover end 41a. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the wiring 61a of the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 from being clamped by the cover member 41 and the housing 11 when the cover member 41 is opened and closed.
[0070] (7) The cover component 41 is light-transmitting. The near-field wireless communication sensor 61 can be visually confirmed by the user with the cover component 41 closed at the opening 11h. Therefore, with the cover component 41 closed at the opening 11h, the user can confirm that the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 is installed in the housing 11. Therefore, it is not necessary to include a notification unit on the recording device 10 to notify the user that the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 is installed in the housing 11.
[0071] The above embodiments can be modified and implemented in the following ways. The above embodiments and the following modifications can be combined and implemented with each other within the scope of technical inconsistency.
[0072] • The cover component 41 and the opening 11h can also be disposed on the side wall 17 of the housing 11.
[0073] ·like Figure 10 As shown, the operation unit 33 can also be arranged side-by-side with respect to the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 in a width direction X different from the orthogonal direction C. For example... Figure 11 As shown, the operation unit 33 can also be arranged side-by-side with respect to the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 in a depth direction Y, which is different from the orthogonal direction C and the width direction X. That is, the operation unit 33 can also be arranged side-by-side with respect to the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 in either the width direction X or the depth direction Y. Furthermore, in Figure 10 as well as Figure 11 In the diagram, the configuration area of the communication terminal is illustrated using a double-dotted line.
[0074] According to the above-described modified examples, in addition to obtaining the effects of (1) to (4), (6) and (7) of the above-described embodiments, the following effects can also be obtained.
[0075] (8) The operation unit 33 is arranged side-by-side with respect to the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 in either the width direction X or the depth direction Y. Therefore, when the user extends the communication terminal toward the near-field wireless communication sensor 61, the communication terminal and the operation unit 33 can be arranged side-by-side, thus preventing the operation unit 33 from being obstructed by the communication terminal. Therefore, the operability of the operation unit 33 operated by the user can be improved.
[0076] • The near-field wireless communication sensor 61 can also be mounted on the inner surface 41u of the cover component 41 facing the opening 11h.
[0077] In addition to the effects of the above-described embodiments and the above-described modifications, the following effects can also be obtained based on the above-described modifications.
[0078] (9) The near-field wireless communication sensor 61 is mounted on the inner surface 41u of the cover member 41 facing the opening 11h. Therefore, the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 will move together with the cover member 41, and thus, the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 can be moved by opening and closing the cover member 41. Therefore, the user's work of moving the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 is eliminated, which is independent of the operation of setting the cover member 41 to the open state, and thus the user's workload can be reduced.
[0079] In the above-described modification, the tray component 51 may be mounted on the inner surface 41u of the cover, and the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 may be housed on the tray component 51, thereby mounting the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 on the inner surface 41u of the cover. In the above-described modification, the tray component 51 may not be mounted on the inner surface 41u of the cover, and the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 itself may be mounted on the inner surface 41u of the cover.
[0080] • Alternatively, the tray component 51 can be omitted from the housing 11. In this case, the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 is disposed in the housing 11 without being disposed in the tray component 51.
[0081] Alternatively, the operation unit 33 can be arranged on one side and the short-range wireless communication sensor 61 can be arranged on the other side, separated by the central portion of the housing 11 in the width direction X.
[0082] • The wiring 61a of the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 can also extend from the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 in a manner separate from the cover end 41a of the cover member 41.
[0083] The opening and closing action of the opening 11h performed by the cover member 41 is not limited to the case where the cover end 41a of the cover member 41 is rotated as a pivot. For example, it can also be configured such that the cover member 41 can be removed from the housing 11. In this case, the user removes the cover member 41 from the housing 11, thereby opening the opening 11h. The user installs the cover member 41 onto the housing 11, thereby closing the opening 11h.
[0084] • The cover component 41 may also be opaque. In this case, a notification unit may be provided in the recording device 10 to notify the user whether the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 is disposed in the housing 11. By checking the notification unit, the user can confirm the placement of the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 in the housing 11 even if the near-field wireless communication sensor 61 is not visually confirmed.
[0085] • Processing units other than the recording unit 22 may also be exposed outside the housing 11 via the opening 11h. Examples of processing units in this variation include, for instance, a feeding unit 26, a conveying unit 28, and a control unit 29. Furthermore, processing units may also include a shear for cutting paper rolls, a waste liquid tank for collecting liquid removed from the nozzle surface 25b during maintenance, etc.
[0086] • In processing devices other than the recording device 10, the cover member 41, the near-field wireless communication sensor 61, the tray member 51, and the operation unit 33 described in the above embodiments and their modifications can also be used. In this case, the processing unit is arranged inside the housing 11. The processing unit is exposed outside the housing 11 through the opening 11h. The user can use the opening 11h to maintain the processing unit. Even in this modification, the same effect as the above embodiments and modifications can be obtained. In addition, as a combination of processing device and processing unit in this modification, the following combinations can be listed. That is, the processing device can be a projector and the processing unit can be a lamp. The processing device can be a printer or a post-processor installed with a printer and the processing unit can be a cutter for cutting paper rolls, etc. The processing device can be a scanner that reads while moving objects such as paper and the processing unit can be a roller that feeds objects.
[0087] The recording device 10 can also be a liquid jetting device that jets or ejects liquids other than ink and performs recording. The state of the liquid ejected from the liquid jetting device as tiny droplets includes granular, teardrop-shaped, and linear tailing droplets. The liquid referred to here can be any material that can be jetted by the liquid jetting device. For example, the liquid can be any material in a liquid phase state, including liquids with high or low viscosity, sols, gel water, other inorganic solvents, organic solvents, solutions, liquid resins, liquid metals, and molten metals. The liquid is not only a liquid as a state of matter, but also includes liquids in which functional material particles composed of solids such as pigments or metal particles are dissolved, dispersed, or mixed in a solvent. Representative examples of liquids include inks or liquid crystals, as described in the above embodiments. Here, ink refers to substances including general water-soluble inks, oil-based inks, as well as gel-like inks, hot-melt inks, and other liquid compositions. Specific examples of liquid jetting devices include those for jetting liquids containing electrode materials or color materials in dispersed or dissolved form, used in the manufacture of liquid crystal displays, electroluminescent displays, surface-emitting displays, color filters, etc. Liquid jetting devices can also be used for jetting liquids containing biological organic matter used in biochip manufacturing, for jetting liquids used as samples in precision suction tubes, for printing and dyeing, or for micro-dispensers. Furthermore, liquid jetting devices can be used for precisely jetting lubricating oil into precision equipment such as watches or cameras, or for jetting transparent resin liquids such as UV-curable resins onto substrates to form tiny hemispherical lenses (optical lenses) used in optical communication components. Liquid jetting devices can also be used for jetting etching solutions such as acids or alkalis to etch substrates.
[0088] The following describes the technical ideas and their effects as understood based on the above-described embodiments and modifications.
[0089] (A) The processing device includes: a housing; a processing unit disposed inside the housing; a cover member that covers an opening in the housing in an openable and closable manner; and a near-field wireless communication sensor disposed in the housing, wherein the processing unit is exposed outside the housing through the opening, and the near-field wireless communication sensor is located between the opening surface and the cover member in an orthogonal direction orthogonal to the opening surface of the opening when the cover member closes the opening.
[0090] According to this structure, since the opening exposes the processing unit to the outside of the housing, the user can use the opening for maintenance of the processing unit. The short-range wireless communication sensor is located between the opening surface and the cover component. Therefore, the space for the maintenance opening and the cover component within the housing can also serve as the space for the short-range wireless communication sensor. Thus, there is no need to provide space for the short-range wireless communication sensor within the housing, thereby suppressing any impact on the housing's appearance caused by the placement of the short-range wireless communication sensor within the housing.
[0091] (B) In the processing apparatus, the cover component and the opening may also be disposed on the upper wall of the housing.
[0092] According to this structure, by placing the communication terminal on the upper wall of the housing, data communication between the short-range wireless communication sensor and the communication terminal can be carried out while maintaining the terminal's stable posture. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the communication terminal from falling off the housing during data communication between the short-range wireless communication sensor and the communication terminal.
[0093] (C) In the processing apparatus, the cover component and the opening may also be disposed on the side wall of the housing.
[0094] (D) In the processing device, it may also be provided that a tray component overlaps with the opening from the outside of the housing and is configured in a detachable manner relative to the housing, wherein the near-field wireless communication sensor is disposed in the housing via the tray component.
[0095] According to this structure, the user can separate the short-range wireless communication sensor from the opening in the housing by removing the tray component. Therefore, the user can make extensive use of the opening in the housing to maintain the processing unit, thus improving user efficiency.
[0096] (E) In the processing device, it may also be configured to include an operation unit disposed on the housing and operated by a user, wherein the operation unit and the near-field wireless communication sensor are configured to be offset in the width direction relative to the central portion of the housing in the width direction other than the orthogonal direction.
[0097] According to this structure, since the operating unit and the near-field wireless communication sensor are offset in the width direction compared to the central part of the housing, they are close to each other within the housing. Therefore, the time difference between the user extending the communication terminal towards the near-field wireless communication sensor and the user operating the operating unit can be shortened. This improves user efficiency.
[0098] (F) In the processing device, it may also be provided with an operation unit disposed on the housing and operated by a user, the operation unit being located in a position that is not side by side with the near-field wireless communication sensor in either the width direction different from the orthogonal direction or the depth direction different from both the orthogonal direction and the width direction.
[0099] According to this structure, the operating part is not disposed within the housing in a space offset in the width direction or in the depth direction relative to the near-field wireless communication sensor. Therefore, when the user extends the communication terminal toward the near-field wireless communication sensor, the operating part is less likely to be obstructed by the communication terminal. This improves the operability of the operating part operated by the user.
[0100] (G) In the processing device, it may also be configured to include an operation unit disposed on the housing and operated by a user, wherein the operation unit is arranged side by side with respect to the near-field wireless communication sensor in either a width direction different from the orthogonal direction or a depth direction different from both the orthogonal direction and the width direction.
[0101] According to this structure, the operating unit is arranged side-by-side with respect to the near-field wireless communication sensor in either the width or depth direction. Therefore, when the user extends the communication terminal toward the near-field wireless communication sensor, the communication terminal and the operating unit can be placed side-by-side, thus preventing the operating unit from being obstructed by the communication terminal. This improves the operability of the operating unit, allowing for user-operable operation.
[0102] (H) In the processing device, the near-field wireless communication sensor may also be mounted on the inner surface of the cover component facing the opening.
[0103] According to this structure, since the short-range wireless communication sensor moves together with the cover component, the short-range wireless communication sensor can be moved by opening and closing the cover component. Therefore, the user's work of moving the short-range wireless communication sensor is eliminated, which is separate from the operation of setting the cover component to the open state, thus reducing the user's workload.
[0104] (I) In the processing device, the cover member may also be configured to be able to rotate by using the end of the cover member as a rotation axis, thereby moving between an open position in which the opening is opened and a closed position in which the opening is closed, and the near-field wireless communication sensor has wiring that extends from the end of the near-field wireless communication sensor.
[0105] According to this structure, it is possible to suppress the situation where the wiring of the short-range wireless communication sensor is clamped between the cover component and the housing due to the opening and closing of the cover component.
[0106] (J) In the processing device, the cover component may also be configured to be light-transmitting, and the near-field wireless communication sensor may be visually confirmed by the user when the cover component closes the opening.
[0107] According to this structure, the user can confirm that a short-range wireless communication sensor is mounted on the housing while the opening is closed by the cover component. Therefore, there is no need to include a notification unit in the processing device to inform the user that the short-range wireless communication sensor is mounted on the housing.
[0108] (K) The recording device comprises: a housing; a recording head that scans and performs recording in a scanning direction different from the transport direction of the recording medium; a maintenance member disposed inside the housing and used for maintenance of the recording head; a cover member that covers an opening located on the upper wall of the housing in an openable and closable manner; and a proximity wireless communication sensor disposed in the housing, wherein the maintenance member protrudes outside the housing through the opening, and the proximity wireless communication sensor is located between the opening surface and the cover member in an orthogonal direction orthogonal to the opening surface of the opening when the cover member closes the opening.
[0109] Based on this structure, the same effect as the aforementioned processing device can be achieved.
