Antibodies binding alpha-synuclein fibrils

By developing a monoclonal antibody BAN0805 with a specific amino acid sequence, the problem of insufficient selectivity of existing antibodies for α-synuclein protofibrils was solved. It achieved high affinity for protofibrils and low affinity for monomers, improving binding selectivity and maintaining stability under high temperature and freeze-thaw conditions, thus avoiding cross-reaction.

Abstract

The present disclosure is based, in part, on the discovery of antibodies, such as BAN0805, that selectively target human alpha-synuclein aggregates, such as oligomers / fibrils. BAN0805 has a lower propensity to bind to undesired monomeric alpha-synuclein targets compared to mouse monoclonal antibody mAb47.
