A power factor monitoring method

Abstract

This invention discloses a power factor monitoring method and apparatus. The power factor monitoring method includes the following steps: acquiring the voltage value of a voltage transformer and the current value of a current transformer to calculate the measured active power and measured reactive power; acquiring the equivalent reactive power on the cable side; when a first operating mode command is acquired, calculating the measured power factor based on the measured active power and measured reactive power; when a second operating mode command is acquired, calculating the equivalent reactive power factor based on the measured active power, measured reactive power, and equivalent reactive power. This invention uses the cable power as an influencing factor in the power factor calculation, thereby obtaining a more accurate power factor value and solving the problem of substandard power factors caused by the inability to monitor power factors in existing main substations.
