Abstract

The subject matter of this specification may be embodied in, among other things, a position sensor system comprising a fluid effector including a housing having an inner surface defining a cavity, a movable body having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface and configured to contact the inner surface and subdivide the cavity to define a first chamber and a second chamber, an acoustic transmitter system configured to transmit a first transmitted waveform toward the first surface and a second transmitted waveform toward the second surface, and an acoustic receiver system configured to detect a first reflected waveform based on a first reflection of the first transmitted waveform, the first reflection of the first transmitted waveform being based on the movable body, and to detect a second reflected waveform based on a second reflection of the second transmitted waveform, the second reflection of the second transmitted waveform being based on the movable body.
