Description

Technical Field

[0001] This application relates to the field of carrier aggregation (CA) technology, and particularly to a method for reporting carrier aggregation capabilities, an electronic device, and a computer-readable medium. Background Technology

[0002] To meet the requirements of increased peak data rates per user and improved system capacity, the Long Term Evolution (LTE) Advanced system introduces a technology to increase transmission bandwidth: carrier aggregation. CA technology can aggregate 2 to 5 LTE component carriers (CCs) together to achieve a maximum transmission bandwidth of 100 MHz, effectively improving uplink and downlink transmission rates.

[0003] During the process of terminal accessing the LTE network, according to the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), rd According to the Generation Partnership Project (GPP) protocol specification, if the network wants to obtain information about a terminal's radio access capabilities, it sends a User Equipment (UE) Capability Enquiry signaling to the terminal. Upon receiving the UE Capability Enquiry signaling, the terminal reports information such as the frequency bands and CA combinations it supports to the network, based on its needs. The network then allocates resources to the terminal based on this information. Currently, the reporting method for CA combinations results in the terminal reporting CA combinations that are not configurable by the network, while the terminal does not report CA combinations that the network can configure. This prevents the terminal from activating CAs when performing data services, thus preventing it from reaching the maximum data service rate. Summary of the Invention

[0018] Figure 1 A flowchart illustrating a method for reporting carrier aggregation capabilities according to an embodiment of this application.

[0019] Firstly, referring to Figure 1 One embodiment of this application provides a method for reporting carrier aggregation capability, including:

[0020] Step 100: Determine whether the network has sent out neighbor cell information and whether the network has sent out the frequency band configured by the network.

[0021] In some exemplary embodiments, determining whether the network has sent neighbor cell information includes: determining whether the network has sent a System Information Block (SIB) 5 message, and determining whether the SIB5 message contains neighbor cell information, which typically carries neighbor cell information for inter-frequency cell reselection.

[0022] Specifically, if the network sends an SIB5 message and the SIB5 message contains neighbor cell information, it is determined that the network has sent neighbor cell information; if the network does not send an SIB5 message; or if the network sends an SIB5 message but the SIB5 message does not contain neighbor cell information, it is determined that the network has not sent neighbor cell information.

[0023] In some exemplary embodiments, determining whether the network has issued a frequency band configured by the network includes determining whether the UE Capability Enquiry issued by the network carries the frequency band configured by the network.

[0024] Specifically, the presence of a "requested frequency bands" field in the UE capability query signaling sent by the network can be used to determine whether the signaling carries network-configured frequency bands. If the "requested frequency bands" field is present, it indicates that the signaling contains network-configured frequency bands, and therefore, the network has indeed issued those frequency bands. Conversely, if the "requested frequency bands" field is absent, it indicates that the signaling does not contain network-configured frequency bands, and therefore, the network has not issued those frequency bands.

[0025] In some exemplary embodiments, it can be determined whether the network sends neighbor cell information and whether the network sends the frequency band configured by the network during the terminal accessing the network, or it can be determined whether the network sends neighbor cell information and whether the network sends the frequency band configured by the network after the terminal accesses the network.

[0026] In some exemplary embodiments, all CA combinations supported by the terminal can be stored in a CA combination list when the terminal is powered on.

[0027] In some exemplary embodiments, the CA combination list may include 2CA combinations or may not include 2CA combinations.

[0028] Step 101: Based on the judgment result, prioritize reporting the carrier aggregation combinations that the network can configure and that the terminal supports.

[0029] In some exemplary embodiments, the carrier aggregation combinations that the network can configure and the terminal supports include at least one of the following carrier aggregation combinations: all carrier aggregation combinations including the current registered cell frequency band, all carrier aggregation combinations including the neighboring cell frequency band, all carrier aggregation combinations including the network-configured frequency band and the current registered cell frequency band, all carrier aggregation combinations including the network-configured frequency band and the neighboring cell frequency band, and all carrier aggregation combinations including the network-configured frequency band and other frequency bands; wherein, the other frequency bands are frequency bands other than the network-configured frequency band, the current registered cell frequency band, and the neighboring cell frequency band.

[0030] In some exemplary embodiments, priority can be given to reporting carrier aggregation combinations that the network can configure and that the terminal supports by adjusting the order of CA combinations supported by the terminal in the CA combination list, and then reporting the CA combinations in the order of the CA combinations in the CA combination list. Alternatively, after obtaining the judgment result, the CA combinations that need to be reported first can be selected from the CA combination list for reporting.

[0031] In some exemplary embodiments, the carrier aggregation combinations that the network can configure and the terminal supports may include 2CA combinations or may not include 2CA combinations. If the carrier aggregation combinations that the network can configure and the terminal supports include 2CA combinations, then 2CA combinations are reported first. That is, 2CA combinations are listed at the top of the CA combination list.

[0032] If the network is configurable and the carrier aggregation combinations supported by the terminal include 2CA combinations, then this includes all carrier aggregation combinations of the currently registered cell frequency band, all carrier aggregation combinations of the neighboring cell frequency band, all carrier aggregation combinations of the frequency band configured by the network and the currently registered cell frequency band, all carrier aggregation combinations of the frequency band configured by the network and the neighboring cell frequency band, and all carrier aggregation combinations of the frequency band configured by the network and other frequency bands; wherein, other frequency bands refer to frequency bands other than the frequency band configured by the network, the frequency band of the currently registered cell, and the neighboring cell frequency band, and all combinations of 3CA and above, such as 4CA combinations, 5CA combinations, etc.

[0033] For example, after determining whether the network has sent neighbor cell information, if the network has not sent neighbor cell information, then all CA combinations in the CA combination list that include the frequency band of the currently registered cell are placed at the top of the CA combination list except for the 2CA combination; if the network has sent neighbor cell information, then all CA combinations in the CA combination list that include the frequency band of the currently registered cell and all CA combinations that include the frequency band of the neighbor cell are placed at the top of the CA combination list except for the 2CA combination.

[0034] For example, after determining whether the network has allocated the network-configured frequency bands, if the network has not allocated the network-configured frequency bands, the order of the CA combinations in the CA combination list remains unchanged; if the network has allocated the network-configured frequency bands, then all carrier aggregation combinations in the CA combination list that include the network-configured frequency bands and the frequency bands of the currently registered cell are placed at the top of the CA combination list, except for the 2CA combination, followed by all carrier aggregation combinations that include the network-configured frequency bands and the frequency bands of neighboring cells, followed by all carrier aggregation combinations that include the network-configured frequency bands and other frequency bands; or, all carrier aggregation combinations in the CA combination list that include the network-configured frequency bands and the frequency bands of the currently registered cell are placed at the top of the CA combination list, except for the 2CA combination, followed by all carrier aggregation combinations that include the network-configured frequency bands and other frequency bands.

[0035] In some exemplary embodiments, prioritizing the reporting of carrier aggregation combinations that the network can configure and the terminal supports based on the judgment result includes: when the judgment result is that the network has not issued neighbor cell information and the network has not issued frequency bands configured by the network, prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band of the currently registered cell.

[0036] In some exemplary embodiments, prioritizing the reporting of carrier aggregation combinations that the network can configure and that the terminal supports based on the judgment result includes: when the judgment result is that the network has issued neighbor cell information and the network has not issued frequency bands configured by the network, prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band of the currently registered cell and all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band of neighbor cells.

[0037] In some exemplary embodiments, prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the current registered cell frequency band and all carrier aggregation combinations including the neighboring cell frequency band includes: prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the current registered cell frequency band, and then reporting all carrier aggregation combinations including the neighboring cell frequency band.

[0038] In some exemplary embodiments, the carrier aggregation combinations that can be configured by the network and supported by the terminal are reported first based on the judgment result, including: when the judgment result is that the network has not issued neighbor cell information and the network issues the frequency band configured by the network, all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band configured by the network and the frequency band of the currently registered cell are reported first, as well as all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band configured by the network and other frequency bands.

[0039] In some exemplary embodiments, prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band configured by the network and the frequency band of the currently registered cell, as well as all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band configured by the network and other frequency bands, includes: prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band configured by the network and the frequency band of the currently registered cell, and then reporting all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band configured by the network and other frequency bands.

[0040] In some exemplary embodiments, the carrier aggregation combinations that can be configured by the network and supported by the terminal are reported first based on the judgment result, including: when the judgment result is that the network sends neighbor cell information and the network sends the frequency band configured by the network, the carrier aggregation combinations that include the frequency band configured by the network and the frequency band of the currently registered cell are reported first, as well as the carrier aggregation combinations that include the frequency band configured by the network and the frequency band of the neighbor cell, and the carrier aggregation combinations that include the frequency band configured by the network and other frequency bands are reported first.

[0041] In some exemplary embodiments, prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band configured by the network and the frequency band of the currently registered cell, all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band configured by the network and the frequency band of neighboring cells, and all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band configured by the network and other frequency bands includes: prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band configured by the network and the frequency band of the currently registered cell, then reporting all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band configured by the network and the frequency band of neighboring cells, and then reporting all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency band configured by the network and other frequency bands.

[0042] The carrier aggregation capability reporting method provided in this application prioritizes reporting carrier aggregation combinations that the network can configure and that the terminal supports, based on the judgment results of whether the network sends neighbor cell information and whether the network sends the frequency band configured by the network. This enables the terminal to activate CA and achieve the maximum data service rate when performing data services.

[0043] In some exemplary embodiments, after prioritizing the reporting of carrier aggregation combinations that the network can configurate and that the terminal supports based on the judgment result, the method further includes: reporting uplink carrier aggregation combinations among the carrier aggregation combinations that the network can configurate and that the terminal supports.

[0044] In some exemplary embodiments, uplink carrier aggregation combination refers to a carrier aggregation combination that can be used by the terminal for uplink transmission.

[0045] In some exemplary embodiments, the reporting order of uplink carrier aggregation combinations is consistent with the carrier aggregation combinations that the network can configure and the terminal supports.

[0046] For example, when prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the current registered cell frequency band, after prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the current registered cell frequency band, priority should be given to reporting the uplink carrier aggregation combination among all carrier aggregation combinations including the current registered cell frequency band.

[0047] When prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the current registered cell frequency band and all carrier aggregation combinations including the neighboring cell frequency band, after prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the current registered cell frequency band and all carrier aggregation combinations including the neighboring cell frequency band, priority should be given to the reporting of uplink carrier aggregation combinations among all carrier aggregation combinations including the current registered cell frequency band and all carrier aggregation combinations including the neighboring cell frequency band.

[0048] When prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency bands configured by the network and the frequency bands of the currently registered cell, as well as all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency bands configured by the network and other frequency bands, priority should be given to reporting all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency bands configured by the network and the frequency bands of the currently registered cell, and all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency bands configured by the network and other frequency bands. Then, priority should be given to reporting all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency bands configured by the network and the frequency bands of the currently registered cell, and uplink carrier aggregation combinations among all carrier aggregation combinations including the frequency bands configured by the network and other frequency bands.

[0049] When prioritizing the reporting of all carrier aggregation combinations including the network-configured frequency band and the current registered cell frequency band, as well as all carrier aggregation combinations including the network-configured frequency band and neighboring cell frequency bands, and all carrier aggregation combinations including the network-configured frequency band and other frequency bands, the following priority is given: First, all carrier aggregation combinations including the network-configured frequency band and the current registered cell frequency band, as well as all carrier aggregation combinations including the network-configured frequency band and neighboring cell frequency bands, and all carrier aggregation combinations including the network-configured frequency band and other frequency bands. Then, the following priority is given to reporting all carrier aggregation combinations including the network-configured frequency band and the current registered cell frequency band, as well as all carrier aggregation combinations including the network-configured frequency band and neighboring cell frequency bands, and uplink carrier aggregation combinations among all carrier aggregation combinations including the network-configured frequency band and other frequency bands.

[0050] To more fully illustrate the specific implementation process of the carrier aggregation capability reporting method in the embodiments of this application, an example is provided below. The example is not intended to limit the scope of protection of the embodiments of this application.

[0059] Step 206: Determine whether the UE capability query signaling sent by the network carries a request frequency band field. If the UE capability query signaling sent by the network carries a request frequency band field, proceed to step 207; if the UE capability query signaling sent by the network does not carry a request frequency band field, proceed to steps 210-211.

[0060] Step 207: Adjust all CA combinations of the network-configured frequency band and the current registered cell frequency band, as well as all CA combinations including the network-configured frequency band and other frequency bands, to the top of the CA combination list except for the 2CA combination; wherein, all CA combinations of the network-configured frequency band and the current registered cell frequency band are located before all CA combinations including the network-configured frequency band and other frequency bands, and execute steps 210-211.

[0062] Step 209: Adjust all CA combinations of the network-configured frequency band and the current registered cell frequency band, as well as all CA combinations including the network-configured frequency band and the neighboring cell frequency band, and all CA combinations including the network-configured frequency band and other frequency bands, to the top of the CA combination list except for the 2CA combination; wherein, all CA combinations of the network-configured frequency band and the current registered cell frequency band are placed before all CA combinations including the network-configured frequency band and the neighboring cell frequency band, and all CA combinations including the network-configured frequency band and the neighboring cell frequency band are placed before all CA combinations including the network-configured frequency band and other frequency bands, and then execute steps 210-211.

[0063] Step 210: The terminal returns UE Capability Information to the network. The UE Capability Information reports the CA combinations that the terminal network can configure and that the terminal supports in the order of the CA combination list.
