The method for controlling the information processing apparatus includes a notification step of executing notification processing for notifying a user of an error occurring in a printing apparatus based on error information if an error is occurring in the printing apparatus in a case where initial setting processing of the printing apparatus, which is processing performed in response to the user first turning on the printing apparatus after the printing apparatus is unpacked, is not completed when a predetermined program is running on the information processing apparatus, and not executing the notification processing if an error is occurring in the printing apparatus in a case where the initial setting processing of the printing apparatus is completed when the predetermined program is running on the information processing apparatus.
