Description

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

[0002] This patent application claims priority to U.S. non-provisional patent application No. 17 / 303,344, filed on May 27, 2021, entitled “SIDELINK COMMUNICATION ORDERING,” which is expressly incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field

[0003] Aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications and techniques and apparatus for sequencing sidelink communications. Background Art

[0004] Wireless communication systems are widely deployed to provide a variety of telecommunication services, such as telephony, video, data, messaging, and broadcasting. Typical wireless communication systems may employ multiple access technologies that can support communication with multiple users by sharing available system resources (e.g., bandwidth, transmit power, etc.). Examples of such multiple access technologies include code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, time division multiple access (TDMA) systems, frequency division multiple access (FDMA) systems, orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems, single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) systems, and time division synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA) systems and long term evolution (LTE). LTE / LTE-Advanced is a set of enhancements to the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) mobile standard promulgated by the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).

[0005] A wireless network may include a number of base stations (BSs) that may support communications for a number of user equipments (UEs). A UE may communicate with a BS via a downlink and an uplink. A "downlink" (or "forward link") refers to a communication link from a BS to a UE, and an "uplink" (or "reverse link") refers to a communication link from a UE to a BS. As further described in detail herein, a BS may be referred to as a Node B, a gNB, an Access Point (AP), a Radio Head, a Transmit Receive Point (TRP), a New Radio (NR) BS, a 5G Node B, and the like.

[0006] The above multiple access technologies have been adopted in a variety of telecommunication standards to provide a common protocol that enables different user devices to communicate at the city, country, region, and even global level. NR (which may also be referred to as 5G) is an enhanced set of LTE mobile standards promulgated by 3GPP. NR is designed to better integrate with other open standards by improving spectrum efficiency, reducing costs, improving services, utilizing new spectrum, and using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) (CP-OFDM) with cyclic prefix (CP) on the downlink (DL), using CP-OFDM and / or SC-FDM (e.g., also known as discrete Fourier transform spread OFDM (DFT-s-OFDM)) on the uplink (UL), and supporting beamforming, multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna technology and carrier aggregation, so as to better support mobile broadband Internet access. As the demand for mobile broadband access continues to increase, further improvements to LTE, NR and other radio access technologies remain useful. Summary of the invention

[0037] The various aspects of the present disclosure are described more fully below with reference to the accompanying drawings. However, the present disclosure can be embodied in many different forms, and should not be interpreted as being limited to any specific structure or function presented throughout the present disclosure. Instead, these aspects are provided so that the present disclosure will be thorough and complete, and the protection scope of the present disclosure will be fully conveyed to those skilled in the art. Based on the teachings herein, it should be understood by those skilled in the art that the protection scope of the present disclosure is intended to cover any aspect of the disclosure disclosed herein, whether implemented independently or in combination with any other aspect of the present disclosure. For example, any number of aspects set forth herein can be used to implement a device or practice method. In addition, the scope of the present disclosure is intended to cover such a device or method implemented using other structures, functions, or structures and functions other than the various aspects of the disclosure set forth herein or different from the various aspects of the disclosure set forth herein. It should be understood that any aspect of the disclosure disclosed herein can be embodied by one or more elements of the claims.

[0038] Several aspects of telecommunication systems will now be presented with reference to various devices and techniques. These devices and methods will be described in the following detailed description and illustrated in the accompanying drawings by various blocks, modules, components, circuits, steps, processes, algorithms, etc. (collectively referred to as "elements"). These elements may be implemented using hardware, software, or a combination thereof. Whether these elements are implemented as hardware or software depends on the specific application and the design constraints imposed on the overall system.

[0039] It should be noted that although various aspects may be described herein using terminology generally associated with 5G or NR radio access technologies (RATs), various aspects of the present disclosure may be applied to other RATs, such as 3G RATs, 4G RATs, and / or RATs beyond 5G (e.g., 6G).

[0040] Figure 1 is a diagram showing an example of a wireless network 100 according to the present disclosure. Among other examples, the wireless network 100 may be or may include elements of a 5G (NR) network and / or an LTE network. The wireless network 100 may include a number of base stations 110 (shown as BS110a, BS110b, BS110c, and BS110d) and other network entities. A base station (BS) is an entity that communicates with a user equipment (UE), and the BS may also be referred to as an NR BS, a Node B, a gNB, a 5G Node B (NB), an access point, a transmit receive point (TRP), etc. Each BS may provide communication coverage for a specific geographic area. In 3GPP, the term "cell" may refer to a coverage area of a BS and / or a BS subsystem serving the coverage area, depending on the context in which the term is used.

[0041] A BS may provide communication coverage for a macro cell, a pico cell, a femto cell, and / or another type of cell. A macro cell may cover a relatively large geographic area (e.g., several kilometers in radius) and may allow unrestricted access by UEs with service subscription. A pico cell may cover a relatively small geographic area and may allow unrestricted access by UEs with service subscription. A femto cell may cover a relatively small geographic area (e.g., a residence) and may allow restricted access by UEs associated with the femto cell (e.g., UEs in a closed subscriber group (CSG)). A BS for a macro cell may be referred to as a macro BS. A BS for a pico cell may be referred to as a pico BS. A BS for a femto cell may be referred to as a femto BS or a home BS. In Figure 1In the example shown, the BS may be a macro BS for macro cell 102a, BS 110b may be a pico BS for pico cell 102b, and the BS may be a femto BS for femto cell 102c. The BS may support one or more (e.g., three) cells. The terms "eNB", "base station", "NR BS", "gNB", "TRP", "AP", "Node B", "5G NB", and "cell" may be used interchangeably herein.

[0042] In some aspects, the cells may not necessarily be stationary, and the geographic area of the cells may move depending on the location of the mobile BS. In some aspects, the BSs may be interconnected with each other and / or to one or more other BSs or network nodes (not shown) in the wireless network 100 through various types of backhaul interfaces (e.g., direct physical connections or virtual networks, etc.) using any suitable transport network.

[0043] The wireless network 100 may also include a relay station. A relay station is an entity that can receive a transmission of data from an upstream station (e.g., a BS or a UE) and send a transmission of the data to a downstream station (e.g., a UE or a BS). A relay station may also be a UE that can relay transmissions for other UEs. Figure 1 In the example shown in , a relay BS 110d may communicate with a macro BS 110a and a UE 120d to facilitate communication between the BS 110a and the UE 120d. A relay BS may also be referred to as a relay station, a relay base station, a relay, or the like.

[0044] The wireless network 100 may be a heterogeneous network including different types of BSs, such as macro BSs, pico BSs, femto BSs, relay BSs, etc. These different types of BSs may have different transmit power levels, different coverage areas, and different effects on interference in the wireless network 100. For example, a macro BS may have a high transmit power level (e.g., 5 to 40 watts), while a pico BS, a femto BS, and a relay BS may have a lower transmit power level (e.g., 0.1 to 2 watts).

[0045] A network controller 130 may be coupled to a set of BSs and provide coordination and control for these BSs. The network controller 130 may communicate with the BSs via a backhaul. The BSs may also communicate with each other (eg, directly or indirectly via a wireless or wired backhaul).

[0046] UE 120 (e.g., 120a, 120b, 120c) can be dispersed throughout the wireless network 100, and each UE can be stationary or mobile. UE can also be referred to as an access terminal, terminal, mobile station, subscriber unit, station, etc. UE can be a cellular phone (e.g., a smart phone), a personal digital assistant (PDA), a wireless modem, a wireless communication device, a handheld device, a laptop computer, a cordless phone, a wireless local loop (WLL) station, a tablet device, a camera, a gaming device, a netbook, a smartbook, an ultrabook, a medical device or equipment, a biosensor / device, a wearable device (smart watch, smart clothing, smart glasses, smart wristband, smart jewelry (e.g., smart ring, smart bracelet)), an entertainment device (e.g., a music or video device, or a satellite radio device), a vehicle-mounted component or sensor, a smart meter / sensor, an industrial manufacturing device, a global positioning system device, or any other suitable device configured to communicate via a wireless medium or a wired medium.

[0047] Some UEs may be considered as machine type communication (MTC) or evolved or enhanced machine type communication (eMTC) UEs. MTC and eMTC UEs include, for example, robots, drones, remote devices, sensors, meters, monitors, and / or location tags that can communicate with a base station, another device (e.g., a remote device), or some other entity. A wireless node may provide, for example, a connection to a network (e.g., a wide area network such as the Internet or a cellular network) or a connection to the network via a wired communication link or a wireless communication link. Some UEs may be considered as Internet of Things (IoT) devices and / or may be implemented as NB-IoT (narrowband Internet of Things) devices. Some UEs may be considered as user premises equipment (CPE). UE 120 may be included inside a housing that houses components of UE 120 (such as a processor component and / or a memory component). In some aspects, a processor component and a memory component may be coupled together. For example, a processor component (e.g., one or more processors) and a memory component (e.g., a memory) may be operatively coupled, communicatively coupled, electronically coupled, and / or electrically coupled.

[0048] Generally, any number of wireless networks can be deployed in a given geographic area. Each wireless network can support a specific RAT and can operate on one or more frequencies. RAT can also be referred to as radio technology, air interface, etc. Frequency can also be referred to as carrier, frequency channel, etc. Each frequency can support a single RAT in a given geographic area to avoid interference between wireless networks of different RATs. In some cases, NR or RAT networks can be deployed.

[0049] In some aspects, two or more UEs 120 (e.g., shown as UE 120a and UE 120e) may communicate directly using one or more sidelink channels (e.g., without using base station 110 as an intermediary to communicate with each other). For example, UE 120 may communicate using peer-to-peer (P2P) communication, device-to-device (D2D) communication, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) protocol (e.g., which may include vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) protocol or vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) protocol), and / or mesh network. In this case, UE 120 may perform scheduling operations, resource selection operations, and / or other operations described elsewhere herein performed by base station 110.

[0050] The devices of the wireless network 100 may communicate using an electromagnetic spectrum, which may be subdivided into various categories, frequency bands, channels, etc. based on frequency or wavelength. For example, the devices of the wireless network 100 may communicate using an operating frequency band having a first frequency range (FR1) (which may span from 410 MHz to 7.125 GHz), and / or may communicate using an operating frequency band having a second frequency range (FR2) (which may span from 24.25 GHz to 52.6 GHz). Frequencies between FR1 and FR2 are sometimes referred to as mid-band frequencies. Although a portion of FR1 is greater than 6 GHz, FR1 is often referred to as a "sub-6 GHz" band. Similarly, FR2 is often referred to as a "millimeter wave" band, although it is different from the extremely high frequency (EHF) band (30 GHz–300 GHz) identified as a "millimeter wave" band by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Therefore, unless otherwise specifically stated, it should be understood that the term "below 6 GHz" and the like (if used herein) can broadly refer to frequencies less than 6 GHz, frequencies within FR1, and / or mid-band frequencies (e.g., greater than 7.125 GHz). Similarly, unless otherwise specifically stated, it should be understood that the term "millimeter wave" and the like (if used herein) can broadly refer to frequencies within the EHF band, frequencies within FR2, and / or mid-band frequencies (e.g., less than 24.25 GHz). It is contemplated that the frequencies included in FR1 and FR2 can be modified, and the techniques described herein can be applied to those modified frequency ranges.

[0051] In some aspects, UE 120 may include a communication manager 140. As described in more detail elsewhere herein, the communication manager 140 may receive, from a base station on an access link, a first downlink control information (DCI) for scheduling a first communication on a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) and a second DCI for scheduling a second communication on the PSSCH. The first communication and the second communication may be scheduled according to a rule for overlapping or ordering communications associated with one or more hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) identifiers (IDs) on the PSSCH. The communication manager 140 may send the scheduled first and second communications. Additionally or alternatively, the communication manager 140 may perform one or more other operations described herein.

[0052] In some aspects, the base station 110 may include a communication manager 150. As described in more detail elsewhere herein, the communication manager 150 may send to the UE on an access link a first DCI that schedules a first communication to be sent by the UE on a PSSCH and a second DCI that schedules a second communication to be sent by the UE on a PSSCH. The first DCI and the second DCI may be sent and the first communication and the second communication may be scheduled according to a rule for overlapping or ordering communications associated with one or more HARQ IDs on the PSSCH. The communication manager 150 may send the first DCI and the second DCI according to the rule. Additionally or alternatively, the communication manager 150 may perform one or more other operations described herein.

[0053] In some aspects, UE 120 may include a communication manager 140. As described in more detail elsewhere herein, the communication manager 140 may receive a first communication from a transmitting UE on a PSSCH, send feedback for the first communication on a physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH), and receive a second communication from the transmitting UE scheduled according to a rule for overlapping or ordering communications associated with one or more HARQ IDs on the PSSCH. The communication manager 140 may send feedback for the second communication on the PSFCH. Additionally or alternatively, the communication manager 140 may perform one or more other operations described herein.

[0054] As indicated above, Figure 1 are provided as examples. Other examples can be found in Figure 1 Different than described.

[0055] Figure 2is a diagram illustrating an example 200 of base station 110 communicating with UE 120 in wireless network 100 according to the present disclosure. Base station 110 may be equipped with T antennas 234a through 234t, and UE 120 may be equipped with R antennas 252a through 252r, where in general T≥1 and R≥1.

[0056] At the base station 110, the transmit processor 220 may receive data intended for one or more UEs from the data source 212, select one or more modulation and coding schemes (MCS) for the UE based at least in part on a channel quality indicator (CQI) received from the UE, process (e.g., encode and modulate) the data for the UE based at least in part on the MCS selected for the UE, and provide data symbols for all UEs. The transmit processor 220 may also process system information (e.g., for semi-static resource partitioning information (SRPI)) and control information (e.g., CQI requests, grants, and / or upper layer signaling), and provide overhead symbols and control symbols. The transmit processor 220 may also generate reference symbols for reference signals (e.g., cell-specific reference signals (CRS) or demodulation reference signals (DMRS)) and synchronization signals (e.g., primary synchronization signals (PSS) or secondary synchronization signals (SSS)). A transmit (TX) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) processor 230 may perform spatial processing (e.g., precoding) on data symbols, control symbols, overhead symbols, and / or reference symbols (if applicable), and may provide T output symbol streams to T modulators (MODs) 232a through 232t. Each modem 232 may process a respective output symbol stream (e.g., for OFDM) to obtain an output sample stream. Each modulator 232 may further process (e.g., convert to analog, amplify, filter, and up-convert) the output sample stream to obtain a downlink signal. The T downlink signals from modulators 232a through 232t may be transmitted via T antennas 234a through 234t, respectively.

[0057] At the UE 120, antennas 252a to 252r may receive downlink signals from the base station 110 and / or other base stations, and may provide received signals to demodulators (DEMODs) 254a to 254r. Each demodulator 254 may condition (e.g., filter, amplify, downconvert, and digitize) received signals to obtain input samples. Each demodulator 254 may further process the input samples (e.g., for OFDM) to obtain received symbols. A MIMO detector 256 may obtain received symbols from all R demodulators 254a to 254r, perform MIMO detection on the received symbols (if applicable), and provide detected symbols. A receive processor 258 may process (e.g., demodulate and decode) the detected symbols, provide decoded data for the UE 120 to a data sink 260, and provide decoded control information and system information to a controller / processor 280. [0060] On the uplink, at the UE 120, a transmit processor 264 may receive and process data from a data source 262 and control information (e.g., for reports including RSRP, RSSI, RSRQ, and / or CQI) from a controller / processor 280. The transmit processor 264 may also generate reference symbols for one or more reference signals. The symbols from the transmit processor 264 may be precoded by the TX MIMO processor 266 (if any), further processed by the modulators 254a through 254r (e.g., for DFT-s-OFDM or CP-OFDM), and transmitted to the base station 110. In some aspects, the modulator and demodulator (e.g., MOD / DEMOD 254) of the UE 120 may be included in a modem of the UE 120. In some aspects, the UE 120 includes a transceiver. The transceiver may include any combination of antennas 252, modulators and / or demodulators 254, MIMO detectors 256, receive processors 258, transmit processors 264, and / or TX MIMO processors 266. In some aspects, the base station 110 includes a transceiver. The transceiver may include any combination of antennas 234, modulators and / or demodulators 232, MIMO detectors 236, receive processors 238, transmit processors 220, and / or TX MIMO processors 230. A processor (e.g., controller / processor 240) and memory 242 may use the transceiver to perform aspects of any of the methods described herein (e.g., as described in reference to Figure 1-16 described).

[0062] The controller / processor 240 of the base station 110, the controller / processor 280 of the UE 120, and / or Figure 2 Any other components in the base station 110 may perform one or more techniques associated with sequencing sidelink communications, as described in more detail elsewhere herein. In some aspects, memory 242 and / or memory 282 may include a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing one or more instructions (e.g., code and / or program code) for wireless communication. For example, when executed by one or more processors of base station 110 and / or UE 120 (e.g., directly, or after compilation, conversion and / or interpretation), the one or more instructions may cause one or more processors, UE 120 and / or base station 110 to perform or direct, for example, Fig.11 Process 1100, Fig.12 The process 1200 Fig.13 The process 1300 and / or operations of other processes as described herein. In some aspects, executing instructions may include running instructions, converting instructions, compiling instructions, and / or interpreting instructions, etc.

[0066] Although Figure 2 The blocks in the 200 and 210 are shown as distinct components, but the functionality described above for these blocks may be implemented in a single hardware, software, or combined component or in various combinations of components. For example, the functionality described with respect to the transmit processor 264, the receive processor 258, and / or the TX MIMO processor 266 may be performed by, or under the control of, the controller / processor 280.

[0067] As indicated above, Figure 2 are provided as examples. Other examples can be found in Figure 2 Different than described.

[0068] Figure 3 is a diagram illustrating an example 300 of sidelink communications in accordance with the present disclosure.

[0069] like Figure 3As shown, a transmitting device such as a first UE 305 can communicate with a receiving device such as a second UE 310 (and one or more other UEs) via one or more sidelink channels 315. UE 305 and UE 310 can communicate using one or more sidelink channels 315 for P2P communication, D2D communication, V2X communication (e.g., which may include V2V communication, V2I communication and / or vehicle to pedestrian (V2P) communication) and / or mesh network. In some aspects, UE 305 and UE 310 may correspond to one or more other UEs described elsewhere herein, such as UE 120. In some aspects, one or more sidelink channels 315 may use a PC5 interface and / or may operate in a high frequency band (e.g., a 5.9 GHz band). Additionally or alternatively, UE 305 and UE 310 may use a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) timing to synchronize the timing of a transmission time interval (TTI) (e.g., a frame, subframe, time slot, or symbol).

[0070] like Figure 3 As further shown, the one or more sidelink channels 315 may include a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) 320, a PSSCH 325, and / or a physical PSFCH 330. The PSCCH 320 may be used to transmit control information, similar to a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and / or a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) used for cellular communications with the base station 110 via an access link or access channel. The PSSCH 325 may be used to transmit data, similar to a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and / or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) used for cellular communications with the base station 110 via an access link or access channel. For example, the PSCCH 320 may carry sidelink control information (SCI) 335, which may indicate various control information for sidelink communications, such as one or more resources (e.g., time resources, frequency resources, and / or space resources), where a transport block (TB) 340 may be carried on the PSSCH 325. The TB 340 may include data. The PSFCH 330 may be used to send sidelink feedback 345 , such as HARQ feedback (eg, acknowledgement or negative acknowledgement (ACK / NACK) information), transmit power control (TPC), and scheduling request (SR).

[0071] In some aspects, one or more sidelink channels 315 may use a resource pool. For example, a scheduling assignment (e.g., included in SCI 335) may be sent in a subchannel using specific resource blocks (RBs) across time. In some aspects, a data transmission associated with a scheduling assignment (e.g., on PSSCH 325) may occupy adjacent RBs in the same subframe as the scheduling assignment (e.g., using frequency division multiplexing). In some aspects, a scheduling assignment and associated data transmission are not sent on adjacent RBs.

[0072] In some aspects, the UE 305 may operate using a transmission mode in which resource selection and / or scheduling is performed by the UE 305 (e.g., rather than the base station 110). In some aspects, the UE 305 may perform resource selection and / or scheduling by sensing channel availability for transmission. For example, the UE 305 may measure RSSI parameters associated with various sidelink channels (e.g., sidelink-RSSI (S-RSSI) parameters), may measure RSRP parameters associated with various sidelink channels (e.g., PSSCH-RSRP parameters), may measure RSRQ parameters associated with various sidelink channels (e.g., PSSCH-RSRQ parameters), and may select a channel for transmitting sidelink communications based at least in part on the measurements.

[0073] Additionally or alternatively, the UE 305 may perform resource selection and / or scheduling using the SCI 335 received in the PSCCH 320, which may indicate occupied resources and / or channel parameters. Additionally or alternatively, the UE 305 may perform resource selection and / or scheduling by determining a channel busy rate (CBR) associated with each sidelink channel, which may be used for rate control (e.g., by indicating a maximum number of resource blocks that the UE 305 may use for a particular set of subframes).

[0074] In a transmission mode in which resource selection and / or scheduling is performed by the UE 305, the UE 305 may generate a sidelink grant and may send the grant in the SCI 335. The sidelink grant may indicate, for example, one or more parameters (e.g., transmission parameters) to be used for an upcoming sidelink transmission, such as one or more resource blocks (e.g., for TB 340) to be used for an upcoming sidelink transmission on the PSSCH 325, one or more subframes to be used for the upcoming sidelink transmission, and / or a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) to be used for the upcoming sidelink transmission. In some aspects, the UE 305 may generate a sidelink grant indicating one or more parameters for semi-persistent scheduling (SPS), such as a periodicity of the sidelink transmission. Additionally or alternatively, the UE 305 may generate a sidelink grant for event-driven scheduling, such as for an on-demand sidelink message.

[0075] As indicated above, Figure 3 are provided as examples. Other examples can be found in Figure 3 Different than described.

[0076] Figure 4 is a diagram illustrating an example 400 of sidelink and access link communications in accordance with the present disclosure.

[0077] like Figure 4 As shown in FIG. , UE 305 and UE 310 may communicate with each other via a side link, as described above in conjunction with Figure 3 As further shown, in some sidelink modes, BS 110 may communicate with UE 305 via a first access link. If UE 305 schedules communication resources for UE 310 with the assistance of base station 110, this may be referred to as sidelink "mode 1". If UE 305, rather than base station 110, schedules communication resources for UE 310, this may be referred to as sidelink "mode 2". UE 305 and UE 310 may correspond to one or more UEs described elsewhere herein, such as Figure 1120. Thus, a direct link between UEs 120 (e.g., via a PC5 interface) may be referred to as a sidelink, and a direct link between a base station and a UE 120 (e.g., via a Uu interface) may be referred to as an access link. Sidelink communications may be sent via a sidelink, and access link communications may be sent via an access link. Access link communications may be downlink communications (from a base station 110 to a UE 120) or uplink communications (from a UE 120 to a base station 110). In some aspects, a UE 305 may receive a first DCI that schedules a first communication on a PSSCH and a second DCI that schedules a second communication on a PSSCH. The UE 305 may send the first communication and the second communication according to the scheduling indicated by the first DCI and the second DCI, respectively.

[0078] For communications on the access link, BS110 may use a downlink "out of order" (OoO) rule to avoid UE 305 from receiving communications on the PDSCH out of order. For example, if a second communication on the PDSCH is received by UE 305 on the PDSCH before receiving the first communication, the second communication and the first communication may be out of order if the first communication is intended to be received by UE 305 before the second communication. To avoid this OoO scenario, the downlink OoO rule may specify that for a given HARQ process, UE 305 is not expected to receive the second communication until a HARQ-ACK for the first communication is sent. BS110 and UE 305 may also operate according to the uplink OoO rule. For example, the rule may specify that UE 305 is not expected to send a first communication on PUSCH concurrently with the second communication, and UE 305 may not be scheduled to send a second communication on PUSCH before the end of the first communication.

[0079] For sidelink communications, PSSCH and PSFCH are designed to be ordered. However, currently, there are no rules for ordering or overlapping communications with respect to DCI, HARQ ID, and communications on PSSCH, PSFCH, and PUCCH. There are currently no rules for ordering sidelink communications and HARQ feedback when the receiving UE of the sidelink channel is to send HARQ feedback. There are currently no rules for ordering sidelink communications with respect to listen-before-talk (LBT) failure reports. In the absence of explicit rules for sidelink channels, sidelink communications and HARQ feedback for sidelink communications may be received out of order or in a manner that consumes additional processing resources and signaling resources of the sidelink UE.

[0080] According to various aspects described herein, UE 305 may be configured to receive DCI and transmit communications according to one or more rules for sequencing or overlapping communications on PSSCH. Communications on PSSCH may be associated with a HARQ process identified by a HARQ ID. For example, in a first scenario where HARQ feedback is disabled and the HARQ ID is the same for a first communication and a second communication, a rule may specify that a second DCI scheduling a second communication may be received after the first communication is transmitted and before the second communication is transmitted. For this first scenario, another rule may specify that the first communication is transmitted after the second DCI is received.

[0081] In a second scenario where HARQ feedback is enabled and the HARQ ID is the same for the first communication and the second communication, the rule may specify that the second DCI may be received after sending feedback for the first communication. For this second scenario, another rule may specify that the second DCI is received after sending the first communication and before sending feedback for the first communication, and the second communication is sent after sending feedback for the first communication.

[0082] Another rule may specify that the first communication and the second communication do not overlap on the PSSCH, but may overlap if the HARQ IDs are different and the receiving UEs are different.Other rules may be specified, including for scenarios where the HARQ ID of the first communication is different from the HARQ ID of the second communication.

[0083] Example 400 shows an access link for uplink and downlink between BS 110 and UE 305 and sidelink (PSSCH and PSFCH) between UE 305 and UE 310. BS 110, UE 305, and UE 310 may operate in sidelink mode 1, where BS 110 uses DCI to schedule sidelink communications for UE 305. As shown in reference numeral 405, UE 305 may receive DCI (first DCI and second DCI). As shown in reference numeral 410, UE 305 may send communications (first communications and second communications) to UE 310. If feedback is enabled, UE 310 may send feedback to UE 305, as shown in reference numeral 415. As shown in reference numeral 420, UE 305 may send feedback to BS 110. In some scenarios, UE 310 may send feedback directly to BS 110. The timing of feedback, DCI, and sidelink communications may be based at least in part on rules for sequencing or overlapping sidelink communications. By following one or more rules for sequencing or overlapping sidelink communications, UE 305, UE 310, and / or BS 110 may save processing resources and signaling resources.

[0084] As indicated above, Figure 4 are provided as examples. Other examples can be found in Figure 4 Different than described.

[0085] Figure 5 5 is a diagram illustrating an example 500 of a rule for overlapping sidelink communications according to the present disclosure. BS 110 may send a scheduling DCI in DCI format 3_0 to UE 305 on PDCCH. UE 305 may send communications to UE 310 and another UE 514 on PSSCH. UE 305 may be considered a transmitting UE and may be an anchor node or controller serving multiple receivers (e.g., a sensor). UE 305 may frequency division multiplex (FDM) communications to different receivers. UE 310 and UE 514 may be considered receiving UEs.

[0086] The first communication 510 on the PSSCH may be scheduled by the first DCI 516, and the second communication 512 on the PSSCH may be scheduled by the second DCI 518. In some aspects, the rules may specify that it is not expected for the UE 305 to send two overlapping communications for the same HARQ ID on the PSSCH. Therefore, the UE 305 may not send the first communication 510 in the same time slot or time that overlaps with the second communication 512.

[0087] In some aspects, the rule may specify that the UE 305 may send two overlapping communications on the PSSCH for two corresponding receiving UEs (such as UE 310 and UE 514) associated with different HARQ IDs. Thus, the UE 305 may send a first communication 510 in the same time slot or time that overlaps with the second communication 512. The first DCI 516 may overlap with the second DCI 518. That is, the DCI may schedule a communication on the PSSCH in the same time slot as a previously scheduled communication on the PSSCH. The number of parallel communications that the UE 305 may send on the PSSCH may be based at least in part on the UE capabilities of the UE 305 or the stored configuration information. By specifying rules for overlapping sidelink communications, the UE 305 may operate more cleanly and avoid wasting processing resources and signaling resources.

[0088] In some aspects, when the UE 305 is configured with multiple resource pools, one or more rules for ordering or overlapping may be specified across the multiple resource pools. This may be more applicable when the HARQ process is shared across multiple resource pools. Alternatively, one or more rules may be applied for each resource pool.

[0089] As indicated above, Figure 5 are provided as examples. Other examples can be found in Figure 5Different than described.

[0090] Figure 6 600 and 602 are diagrams illustrating examples of rules for sequencing sidelink communications according to the present disclosure. Examples 600 and 602 illustrate a BS 110 sending a DCI to a UE 305. The UE 305 may send communications scheduled by the DCI.

[0091] In examples 600 and 602, feedback may be disabled for the UE 305, and the HARQ ID for the DCI may be the same (HARQ 0). In some aspects, the rule illustrated by example 600 may specify that the UE 305 is not expected to send a second communication 512 scheduled by the second DCI 518 until after the first communication 510 for the same HARQ ID. The UE 305 may receive the second DCI 518 after the first communication 510 is sent. Another rule illustrated by example 602 may specify that the UE 305 is not expected to send the second communication 512 until after the end of the first communication 510 from the same HARQ ID. The UE 305 may receive the second DCI 518 before sending the first communication 510. In some aspects, the UE 305 may receive the second DCI 518 before the end of the first communication 510 for the same HARQ ID for blind retransmission.

[0092] As indicated above, Figure 6 Some examples are provided. Other examples can be found in Figure 6 Different than described.

[0093] Figure 7 700, 702, and 704 illustrate examples 110 of rules for sequencing sidelink communications according to the present disclosure. Examples 110, 702, and 704 illustrate BS 110 sending DCI to UE 305. UE 305 may send communications to UE 310 scheduled by the DCI.

[0094] In example 700, example 702, and example 704, feedback may be enabled for UE 305, and the HARQ ID used for the DCI may be the same (HARQ 0). UE 305 may not be ready to receive a new grant for the same HARQ ID because UE 305 may not have flushed the buffer after receiving feedback 710 for the first communication 510 from UE 310 on the PSFCH or after sending feedback 710 to BS 110. Feedback 710 sent on the PUCCH is shown as feedback 712. In some aspects, the rules illustrated by example 700 may specify that UE 305 is not expected to receive the second DCI 518 until UE 305 has sent feedback 712 on the PUCCH. BS 110 may require feedback 712 before scheduling a new transport block or rescheduling a retransmission. Another rule, illustrated by example 702 , may specify that the UE 305 receive the second DCI 518 after the end of the first communication 510 , but the second communication 512 is not expected to be sent before the UE 305 has sent feedback 712 .

[0095] In some aspects, the BS 110 may receive the feedback 712 directly from the UE 310 on the PUCCH, and the BS 110 may identify the feedback 712 as coming from the UE 310. The rule illustrated by the example 704 may specify that the UE 305 is not expected to receive the second DCI 518 until after the UE 305 has received the feedback 710 on the PSFCH, or after the UE 310 has sent the feedback 712 to the BS 110 on the PUCCH. The BS 110 may be expected to have information about the PSFCH pool configuration and the UE to which the feedback 712 belongs. The BS 110 may receive the feedback 712 from the UE 310 on the PUCCH, and the UE 310 may send the feedback 710 to the UE 305 on the PSFCH. The UE 305 may forward the priority indicator from the DCI and / or the PSFCH to HARQ feedback timing indicator to the UE 310 via the SCI. The UE 305 may use the feedback 710 from the UE 310 on the PSFCH for HARQ buffer management. The BS 110 may not send the second DCI 518 (another grant for the same HARQ ID) before the BS 110 receives the feedback 712 from the UE 310 on the PUCCH.

[0096] As indicated above, Figure 7 Some examples are provided. Other examples can be found in Figure 7 Different than described.

[0097] Figure 88 is a diagram illustrating examples 800, 802, and 804 of rules for sequencing sidelink communications according to the present disclosure. Examples 800, 802, and 804 illustrate BS 110 sending DCI to UE 305. UE 305 may send communications to UE 310 scheduled by the DCI.

[0098] In example 800, feedback may be disabled for UE 305 and the HARQ IDs used for DCI are different (HARQ0 and HARQ 1). The rules may specify that UE 305 does not expect second DCI 518 to schedule second communication 512 earlier than first communication 510. UE 305 may not expect OoO scheduling delays from DCI.

[0099] In examples 802 and 804, feedback may be enabled for UE 305, and the HARQ IDs used for DCI are different (HARQ 0 and HARQ 1). UE 305 may receive feedback 810 for the second communication 512 from UE 310 on the PSFCH, and UE 305 may send feedback 812 for the second communication 512 to BS 110 on the PUCCH. Note that feedback 812 is the same feedback as feedback 810, but feedback 810 is sent on the PSFCH and feedback 812 is sent on the PUCCH. In some aspects, the rules illustrated by example 802 may specify that it is not expected that UE 305 sends feedback 812 for the second communication 512 to BS 110 on the PUCCH before UE 305 sends feedback 712 for the first communication 510 to BS 110 on the PUCCH. That is, UE 305 may operate using OoO scheduling rules and OoO HARQ timing rules.

[0100] In example 804, BS 110 may receive feedback 712 and 812 directly from UE 310, and BS 110 may identify feedback 712 and 812 as coming from UE 310. The rules illustrated by example 804 may specify that UE 305 is not expected to receive second DCI 518 until after first DCI 516, and feedback 812 for second communication 512 is not expected to be sent on PUCCH until feedback 712 for first communication 510 is sent.

[0101] As indicated above, Figure 8 Some examples are provided. Other examples can be found in Figure 8 Different than described.

[0102] Fig. 99 is a diagram illustrating examples 900 and 902 of rules for ordering sidelink communications according to the present disclosure. Examples 900 and 902 illustrate that UE 310 may send feedback for communications received from UE 305.

[0103] In some aspects, the UE 305 may receive a PSFCH timing indication from the BS 110 on the PSCCH. The PSFCH timing indication may provide more flexible timing, but may still be limited by the rules used for sorting. In example 900, feedback may be enabled for the UE 305, and the HARQ ID used for the DCI may be the same (HARQ 0). The rule may specify that the UE 310 is not expected to receive the second communication 512 until the UE 310 has sent feedback 710 for the first communication to the UE 305 on the PSFCH. The UE 305 may expect feedback 710 on the PSFCH before scheduling a new transport block or rescheduling a transmission (in sidelink mode 2).

[0104] In example 902, the HARQ IDs used for the DCI are different (HARQ 0 and HARQ 1). The rule may specify that the UE 310 is not expected to send feedback 810 for the second communication 512 on the PSFCH until the UE 310 has sent feedback 710 for the first communication on the PSFCH to the UE 305. The second communication 512 may be received before the feedback 710 for the first communication 510 is sent.

[0105] As indicated above, Fig. 9 Some examples are provided. Other examples can be found in Figure 8 Different than described.

[0106] Fig.10 is a diagram illustrating an example 1000 of a rule for sequencing sidelink communications in accordance with the present disclosure. Example 1000 illustrates that BS 110 may send a DCI that schedules communications to be sent by UE 305.

[0107] In a shared or unlicensed band, a transmitting device may compete with other devices for channel access before transmitting on a shared or unlicensed channel to reduce and / or prevent conflicts on a shared or unlicensed channel. In order to compete for channel access, a transmitting device may perform a channel access process, such as an LBT process. The LBT process may be performed to determine whether a physical channel (e.g., a radio resource of a channel) is idle or busy (e.g., being used by another wireless communication device). The LBT process may include sensing or measuring a physical channel during a channel access gap (e.g., performing an RSRP measurement, detecting an energy level, or performing another type of measurement), and determining whether a shared or unlicensed channel is idle or busy based at least in part on a signal sensed or measured on the physical channel (e.g., based at least in part on whether the measurement satisfies a threshold). If the transmitting device determines that the LBT process is successful, the transmitting device may perform one or more transmissions on a shared or unlicensed channel during a transmission opportunity, which may extend the channel occupancy time (COT). The transmitting device may provide a failed or successful LBT report. The UE 305 may perform LBT and send an LBT report to the BS 110.

[0108] In some aspects, if there is an LBT failure, the UE 305 may send an early LBT report 910 on the PUCCH. The BS 110 may use the DCI 912 to reschedule the UE 305 for a retransmission 914 (same HARQ ID) before receiving feedback 712 for the first communication 510. In the case of an LBT failure, the UE 305 may desire to wait for a retransmission grant. The DCI 912 may be an additional grant for retransmission, or the first DCI 516 may indicate up to two retransmission resources.

[0109] If feedback is enabled (for the same HARQ ID) and early LBT reporting is enabled, the rules may specify that if the UE 305 fails LBT prior to the first communication 510, the UE 305 is not expected to receive another DCI 912 until the UE 305 has sent an early LBT report on the PUCCH. If the LBT is successful, the UE 305 does not deviate from the normal process. That is, the UE 305 is not expected to receive another DCI 912 until the UE 305 has sent feedback 712 on the PUCCH. Although the UE 305 can use the DCI 912 for retransmissions, in some aspects, the UE 305 can use the DCI 912 for new transmissions by switching a new data indicator.

[0110] By specifying rules for receiving DCI, sending communications, and providing feedback on the sidelink, UE 305 and UE 310 can avoid out-of-order communications, undesirable overlaps, and other conflicts that degrade communications. Therefore, BS 110, UE 305, and UE 310 can save processing resources and signaling resources that would otherwise be consumed by retransmissions.

[0111] As indicated above, Fig.10 are provided as examples. Other examples can be found in Fig.10 Different than described.
