Abstract

This invention addresses the problem of difficulty in accurately calibrating camera line-of-sight (LOS) and display geometric pose due to limitations in camera models. It proposes a method for calibrating LOS parameters and display geometric pose without requiring a camera model. The method involves capturing structured light-coded patterns on multiple displays or virtual images of the displays using a camera. The coordinates of the display light source points are decoded and unified to the world coordinate system. The LOS equation is used to characterize the camera's LOS. Then, the LOS equation is fitted using multiple display light source points. Finally, nonlinear optimization is performed based on the fitting residuals to determine the optimal solutions for the LOS parameters and display pose parameters. This method offers advantages such as high precision, high reliability, high flexibility, and the ability to simultaneously calibrate both camera LOS parameters and display geometric pose.
