[0052] Some wireless communication systems may support passive Internet of Things (PIoT) devices, such as radio frequency identification (RFID) tags. For example, a first wireless device (such as a network entity) may send an energy signal to a second wireless device (such as a PIoT device), and the PIoT device may reflect an information-bearing signal (e.g., a backscatter modulated information signal) back to the network entity, which may decode the information-bearing signal. However, the PIoT device may support a relatively short range (e.g., compared to other transmission protocols), and due to the fading of the energy signal, the reflection of multipath communication may further reduce the range. Thus, auxiliary nodes (e.g., smart repeaters), which may also be referred to as wireless nodes, may be used to direct energy signals to PIoT devices, transmit information-bearing signaling from one PIoT device to another PIoT device, or both. However, current auxiliary node configurations may not support repeating energy signals other than information-carrying signals (such as backscatter modulated information signals (e.g., PIoT communication signals) or wireless communication signals (e.g., new radio (NR) signals or other similar wireless communication signals)).
[0053] The techniques described herein may enable a wireless node, such as an auxiliary node, to relay signals associated with a plurality of signal types, including signals carrying information, which may be referred to as information communication signals, and energy signals, which may be referred to as energy transfer signals. For example, a network entity may send control signaling that configures the wireless node to relay signals associated with a plurality of signal types, the plurality of signal types including at least a first signal type associated with information communication signals and a second signal type associated with energy transfer signals. In some cases, the configuration may indicate one or more transmission parameters, the one or more transmission parameters including a beam index for each signal type, a transmission power for each signal type, a time and frequency resource for each signal type, a priority value for each signal type, or any combination thereof. Additionally or alternatively, the configuration may include one or more transmission power priority rules, one or more transmission priority rules, or both. For example, when the capabilities of the wireless node are exceeded, the wireless node may apply one or more transmission power priority rules, one or more transmission priority rules, or both to a set of signals to be relayed by the wireless node based on one or more transmission parameters associated with the set of signals to be relayed by the wireless node.
[0054] First, aspects of the disclosure are described in the context of a wireless communication system. Subsequently, aspects of the disclosure are described in the context of a multiplexed communication scheme and process flow. Aspects of the disclosure are further illustrated by and described with reference to device diagrams, system diagrams, and flow diagrams related to control signaling for a repeater with energy transfer.
[0055] Figure 1 An example of a wireless communication system 100 supporting control signaling for a repeater with energy transfer according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. The wireless communication system 100 may include one or more network entities 105, one or more UEs 115, and a core network 130. In some examples, the wireless communication system 100 may be a long term evolution (LTE) network, an advanced LTE (LTE-A) network, an LTE-A Pro network, a new radio (NR) network, or a network operating according to other systems and radio technologies (including future systems and radio technologies not explicitly mentioned herein).
[0056] The network entities 105 may be dispersed throughout a geographic area to form the wireless communication system 100, and may include devices in different forms or with different capabilities. In various examples, the network entities 105 may be referred to as network elements, mobility elements, radio access network (RAN) nodes, or network equipment, etc. In some examples, the network entities 105 and the UE 115 may communicate wirelessly via one or more communication links 125 (e.g., radio frequency (RF) access links). For example, the network entity 105 may support a coverage area 110 (e.g., a geographic coverage area) within which the UE 115 and the network entity 105 may establish one or more communication links 125. The coverage area 110 may be an example of a geographic area within which the network entity 105 and the UE 115 may support signal communications according to one or more radio access technologies (RATs).
[0057] The UEs 115 may be dispersed throughout the coverage area 110 of the wireless communication system 100, and each UE 115 may be stationary or mobile, or both stationary and mobile at different times. The UEs 115 may be devices in different forms or with different capabilities. Figure 1 Some example UEs 115 are illustrated in FIG. 1 . The UEs 115 described herein may be capable of supporting communication with various types of devices, such as Figure 1 Communicate with other UEs 115 or network entities 105) as shown.
[0058] As described herein, a node of the wireless communication system 100 (which may be referred to as a network node or a wireless node) may be a network entity 105 (e.g., any network entity described herein), a UE 115 (e.g., any UE described herein), a network controller, an apparatus, a device, a computing system, one or more components, or another suitable processing entity configured to perform any of the techniques described herein. For example, the node may be a UE 115. As another example, the node may be a network entity 105. As another example, a first node may be configured to communicate with a second node or a third node. In one aspect of this example, the first node may be a UE 115, the second node may be a network entity 105, and the third node may be a UE 115. In another aspect of this example, the first node may be a UE 115, the second node may be a network entity 105, and the third node may be a network entity 105. In yet other aspects of this example, the first node, the second node, and the third node may be different relative to these examples. Similarly, references to UE 115, network entity 105, apparatus, device, computing system, etc. may include disclosure of UE 115, network entity 105, apparatus, device, computing system, etc. as a network node. For example, a disclosure that UE 115 is configured to receive information from network entity 105 also discloses that the first node is configured to receive information from the second node.
[0059] In some examples, the network entities 105 may communicate with the core network 130, or with each other, or both. For example, the network entities 105 may communicate with the core network 130 via one or more backhaul communication links 120 (e.g., according to S1, N2, N3, or other interface protocols). In some examples, the network entities 105 may communicate with each other via the backhaul communication links 120 (e.g., according to X2, Xn, or other interface protocols) directly (e.g., directly between the network entities 105) or indirectly (e.g., via the core network 130). In some examples, the network entities 105 may communicate with each other via the midhaul communication links 162 (e.g., according to the midhaul interface protocol) or the fronthaul communication links 168 (e.g., according to the fronthaul interface protocol) or any combination thereof. The backhaul communication links 120, the midhaul communication links 162, or the fronthaul communication links 168 may be or include one or more wired links (e.g., electrical links, optical fiber links), one or more wireless links (e.g., radio links, wireless optical links), etc. or various combinations thereof. UE 115 may communicate with core network 130 via communication link 155 .
[0060] One or more of the network entities 105 described herein may include or may be referred to as a base station 140 (e.g., a transceiver base station, a radio base station, an NR base station, an access point, a radio transceiver, a Node B, an evolved Node B (eNB), a next generation Node B, or a Gigabit Node B (any of which may be referred to as a gNB), a 5G NB, a next generation eNB (ng-eNB), a Home Node B, a Home Evolved Node B, or other suitable terms). In some examples, the network entity 105 (e.g., a base station 140) may be implemented in an aggregated (e.g., monolithic, stand-alone) base station architecture, which may be configured to utilize a protocol stack that is physically or logically integrated within a single network entity 105 (e.g., a single RAN node, such as a base station 140).
[0061] In some examples, the network entity 105 may be implemented in a disaggregated architecture (e.g., a disaggregated base station architecture, a disaggregated RAN architecture) that may be configured to utilize a protocol stack that is physically or logically distributed between two or more network entities 105, such as an integrated access backhaul (IAB) network, an open RAN (O-RAN) (e.g., a network configuration initiated by the O-RAN Alliance), or a virtualized RAN (vRAN) (e.g., a cloud RAN (C-RAN)). For example, the network entity 105 may include one or more of the following: a central unit (CU) 160, a distributed unit (DU) 165, a radio unit (RU) 170, a RAN intelligent controller (RIC) 175 (e.g., a near real-time RIC (near RT RIC), a non-real-time RIC (non-RT RIC)), a service management and orchestration (SMO) 180 system, or any combination thereof. The RU 170 may also be referred to as a radio head, a smart radio head, a remote radio head (RRH), a remote radio unit (RRU), or a transmit receive point (TRP). One or more components of the network entity 105 in the decomposed RAN architecture may be co-located, or one or more components of the network entity 105 may be located in distributed locations (e.g., separate physical locations). In some examples, one or more network entities 105 of the decomposed RAN architecture may be implemented as virtual units (e.g., virtual CU (VCU), virtual DU (VDU), virtual RU (VRU)).
[0062] The functional split between CU 160, DU 165, and RU 170 is flexible, and different functionalities may be supported depending on which functions (e.g., network layer functions, protocol layer functions, baseband functions, RF functions, and any combination thereof) are performed at CU 160, DU 165, and RU 170. For example, a functional split of a protocol stack may be employed between CU 160 and DU 165, such that CU 160 may support one or more layers of a protocol stack, and DU 165 may support one or more different layers of a protocol stack. In some examples, CU 160 may host higher protocol layer (e.g., layer 3 (L3), layer 2 (L2)) functionality and signaling (e.g., radio resource control (RRC), service data adaptation protocol (SDAP), packet data convergence protocol (PDCP)). The CU 160 may be connected to one or more DUs 165 or RUs 170, and the one or more DUs 165 or RUs 170 may host lower protocol layers, such as layer 1 (L1) (e.g., physical (PHY) layer) or L2 (e.g., radio link control (RLC) layer, medium access control (MAC) layer) functionality and signaling, and may each be at least partially controlled by the CU 160. Additionally or alternatively, a functional split of the protocol stack may be employed between the DUs 165 and RUs 170, such that the DUs 165 may support one or more layers of the protocol stack, and the RUs 170 may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. The DUs 165 may support one or more different cells (e.g., via one or more RUs 170). In some cases, the functional split between CU 160 and DU 165 or between DU 165 and RU 170 may be within the protocol layer (e.g., some functions of the protocol layer may be performed by one of CU 160, DU 165, or RU 170, while other functions of the protocol layer are performed by the other of CU 160, DU 165, or RU 170). CU 160 may be further functionally split into CU control plane (CU-CP) functions and CU user plane (CU-UP) functions. CU 160 may be connected to one or more DUs 165 via midhaul communication links 162 (e.g., F1, F1-c, F1-u), and DU 165 may be connected to one or more RUs 170 via fronthaul communication links 168 (e.g., open fronthaul (FH) interface). In some examples, midhaul communication link 162 or fronthaul communication link 168 may be implemented based on an interface (e.g., a channel) between layers of a protocol stack supported by respective network entities 105 that communicate via such communication links.
[0063] In a wireless communication system (e.g., wireless communication system 100), infrastructure and spectrum resources for radio access may support wireless backhaul link capabilities to supplement wired backhaul connections, thereby providing an IAB network architecture (e.g., to a core network 130). In some cases, in an IAB network, one or more network entities 105 (e.g., IAB nodes 104) may be partially controlled by each other. One or more IAB nodes 104 may be referred to as donor entities or IAB donors. One or more DUs 165 or one or more RUs 170 may be controlled in part by one or more CUs 160 associated with a donor network entity 105 (e.g., a donor base station 140). One or more donor network entities 105 (e.g., IAB donors) may communicate with one or more additional network entities 105 (e.g., IAB nodes 104) via supported access and backhaul links (e.g., backhaul communication links 120). The IAB node 104 may include an IAB mobile terminal (IAB-MT) controlled (e.g., scheduled) by a coupled IAB donor's DU 165. The IAB-MT may include an independent set of antennas for relaying communications with the UE 115, or may share the same antennas of the IAB node 104 (e.g., of the RU 170) for access via the DU 165 of the IAB node 104 (e.g., referred to as a virtual IAB-MT (vIAB-MT)). In some examples, the IAB node 104 may include a DU 165 that supports communication links with additional entities (e.g., IAB node 104, UE 115) within a relay chain or configuration (e.g., downstream) of the access network. In such cases, one or more components of the decomposed RAN architecture (e.g., one or more IAB nodes 104 or components of the IAB node 104) may be configured to operate according to the techniques described herein.
[0064] In the case where the techniques described herein are applied to the context of a disaggregated RAN architecture, one or more components of the disaggregated RAN architecture may be configured to support control signaling for a repeater with energy transfer as described herein. For example, some operations described as being performed by a UE 115 or a network entity 105 (e.g., a base station 140) may additionally or alternatively be performed by one or more components of the disaggregated RAN architecture (e.g., an IAB node 104, a DU 165, a CU 160, a RU 170, a RIC 175, a SMO 180).
[0065] UE 115 may include or may be referred to as a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a handheld device, or a subscriber device, or some other suitable term, where a "device" may also be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client, etc. UE 115 may also include or may be referred to as a personal electronic device, such as a cellular phone, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a tablet computer, a laptop computer, or a personal computer. In some examples, UE 115 may include or may be referred to as a wireless local loop (WLL) station, an Internet of Things (IoT) device, an Internet of Everything (IoE) device, or a machine type communication (MTC) device, etc., which may be implemented in various objects such as appliances or vehicles, meters, etc.
[0066] The UE 115 described herein may be capable of communicating with various types of devices, such as other UEs 115, which may sometimes act as relays, as well as network entities 105 and network equipment including macro eNBs or gNBs, small cell eNBs or gNBs, or relay base stations, etc. Figure 1 shown.
[0067] The UE 115 and the network entity 105 may wirelessly communicate with each other via one or more communication links 125 (e.g., access links) using resources associated with one or more carriers. The term "carrier" may refer to a collection of RF spectrum resources having a physical layer structure defined for supporting the communication link 125. For example, a carrier for the communication link 125 may include a portion of an RF spectrum band (e.g., a bandwidth portion (BWP)) that operates according to one or more physical layer channels for a given radio access technology (e.g., LTE, LTE-A, LTE-A Pro, NR). Each physical layer channel may carry acquisition signaling (e.g., synchronization signals, system information), control signaling for coordinating carrier operations, user data, or other signaling. The wireless communication system 100 may support communications with the UE 115 using carrier aggregation or multi-carrier operation. Depending on the carrier aggregation configuration, the UE 115 may be configured with multiple downlink component carriers and one or more uplink component carriers. Carrier aggregation may be used for both frequency division duplex (FDD) component carriers and time division duplex (TDD) component carriers. Communication between the network entity 105 and other devices may refer to communication between these devices and any portion (e.g., entity, sub-entity) of the network entity 105. For example, the terms "send," "receive," or "communicate" when referring to the network entity 105 may refer to any portion of a network entity 105 (e.g., base station 140, CU 160, DU 165, RU 170) of a RAN communicating with another device (e.g., directly or via one or more other network entities 105).
[0068] The signal waveform transmitted via the carrier may include multiple subcarriers (e.g., using multi-carrier modulation (MCM) techniques, such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) or discrete Fourier transform spread OFDM (DFT-S-OFDM)). In a system using MCM technology, a resource element may refer to a resource of one symbol period (e.g., the duration of one modulation symbol) and one subcarrier, in which case the symbol period and the subcarrier spacing may be inversely related. The number of bits carried by each resource element may depend on the modulation scheme (e.g., the order of the modulation scheme, the coding rate of the modulation scheme, or both), so that a relatively high number of resource elements (e.g., within the transmission duration) and a relatively high order modulation scheme may correspond to a relatively high communication rate. Wireless communication resources may refer to a combination of RF spectrum resources, time resources, and spatial resources (e.g., spatial layers, beams), and the use of multiple spatial resources may increase the data rate or data integrity of communications with UE 115.
[0069] The time interval for the network entity 105 or the UE 115 may be expressed in multiples of a basic time unit, which may be, for example, a sampling period T s =1 / (Δf max ·N f ) seconds, where Δf max It can represent the supported subcarrier spacing, and N f The supported discrete Fourier transform (DFT) size may be indicated. The time intervals of the communication resources may be organized according to radio frames, each having a specified duration (e.g., 10 milliseconds (ms)). Each radio frame may be identified by a system frame number (SFN) (e.g., in the range of 0 to 1023).
[0070] Each frame may include multiple consecutively numbered subframes or time slots, and each subframe or time slot may have the same duration. In some examples, the frame may be divided into subframes (e.g., in the time domain), and each subframe may be further divided into a certain number of time slots. Alternatively, each frame may include a variable number of time slots, and the number of time slots may depend on the subcarrier spacing. Each time slot may include a certain number of symbol periods (e.g., depending on the length of the cyclic prefix added before each symbol period). In some wireless communication systems 100, the time slot may be further divided into a plurality of mini-time slots associated with one or more symbols. Excluding the cyclic prefix, each symbol period may be associated with one or more (e.g., N f The duration of a symbol period may depend on the subcarrier spacing or the operating band.
[0071] A subframe, a time slot, a mini-time slot, or a symbol may be the smallest scheduling unit (e.g., in the time domain) of the wireless communication system 100 and may be referred to as a transmission time interval (TTI). In some examples, the TTI duration (e.g., the number of symbol periods in a TTI) may be variable. Additionally or alternatively, the smallest scheduling unit of the wireless communication system 100 may be dynamically selected (e.g., in a burst of a shortened TTI (sTTI)).
[0072] Physical channels may be multiplexed using carriers for communication according to various techniques. For example, physical control channels and physical data channels may be multiplexed using one or more of a time division multiplexing (TDM) technique, a frequency division multiplexing (FDM) technique, or a hybrid TDM-FDM technique to signal via a downlink carrier. A control region (e.g., a control resource set (CORESET)) of a physical control channel may be defined by a set of symbol periods and may extend across a system bandwidth or a subset of a system bandwidth of a carrier. One or more control regions (e.g., CORESETs) may be configured for a set of UEs 115. For example, one or more UEs in UE 115 may monitor or search a control region for control information according to one or more search space sets, and each search space set may include one or more control channel candidates in one or more aggregation levels arranged in a cascaded manner. The aggregation level of a control channel candidate may refer to the amount of control channel resources (e.g., control channel elements (CCEs)) associated with coded information for a control information format having a given payload size. The search space sets may include a common search space set configured for transmitting control information to multiple UEs 115 , and a UE-specific search space set for transmitting control information to a specific UE 115 .
[0073] In some examples, the network entities 105 (e.g., base stations 140, RUs 170) may be mobile and thus provide communication coverage for mobile geographic coverage areas 110. In some examples, different coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may overlap, but the different coverage areas 110 may be supported by the same network entity 105. In some other examples, overlapping coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may be supported by different network entities 105. The wireless communication system 100 may include, for example, a heterogeneous network in which different types of network entities 105 provide coverage for respective coverage areas 110 using the same or different radio access technologies.
[0074] The wireless communication system 100 may be configured to support ultra-reliable communication or low-latency communication or various combinations thereof. For example, the wireless communication system 100 may be configured to support ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC). UE 115 may be designed to support ultra-reliable, low-latency or critical functions. Ultra-reliable communication may include private communication or group communication, and may be supported by one or more services (such as push-to-talk, video or data). Support for ultra-reliable, low-latency functions may include prioritization of services, and such services may be used for public safety or general commercial applications. The terms ultra-reliable, low-latency and ultra-reliable low-latency may be used interchangeably herein.
[0075] In some examples, the UE 115 may be configured to support communication directly with other UEs 115 via a device-to-device (D2D) communication link 135 (e.g., according to a peer-to-peer (P2P), D2D, or sidelink protocol). In some examples, one or more UEs 115 in a group that are performing D2D communication may be within a coverage area 110 of a network entity 105 (e.g., a base station 140, a RU 170), which may support aspects of such D2D communication configured (e.g., scheduled) by the network entity 105. In some examples, one or more UEs 115 in such a group may be outside of the coverage area 110 of the network entity 105, or may otherwise be unable or not configured to receive transmissions from the network entity 105. In some examples, a group of UEs 115 communicating via D2D communication may support a one-to-many (1:M) system in which each UE 115 transmits to each of the other UEs 115 in the group. In some examples, network entity 105 may facilitate scheduling of resources for D2D communications. In some other examples, D2D communications may be performed between UEs 115 without involving network entity 105.
[0076] The core network 130 may provide user authentication, access authorization, tracking, Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity, and other access, routing or mobility functions. The core network 130 may be an evolved packet core (EPC) or a 5G core (5GC), which may include at least one control plane entity (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME), an access and mobility management function (AMF)) for managing access and mobility and at least one user plane entity (e.g., a serving gateway (S-GW), a packet data network (PDN) gateway (P-GW), or a user plane function (UPF)) for routing packets or interconnecting to an external network. The control plane entity may manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management of UE 115 served by a network entity 105 (e.g., a base station 140) associated with the core network 130. User IP packets may be delivered via a user plane entity, which may provide IP address allocation and other functions. The user plane entity may be connected to an IP service 150 for one or more network operators. IP services 150 may include access to the Internet, an intranet, an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), or packet-switched streaming services.
[0077] The wireless communication system 100 may operate using one or more frequency bands that may be in the range of 300 megahertz (MHz) to 300 gigahertz (GHz). Generally speaking, the region from 300 MHz to 3 GHz is referred to as the ultra-high frequency (UHF) region or decimeter band because the wavelength ranges from about one decimeter to one meter in length. UHF waves may be blocked or redirected by buildings and environmental features (which may be referred to as clusters), but these waves may be sufficient to penetrate structures so that macro cells provide services to UEs 115 located indoors. Communications using UHF waves may be associated with smaller antennas and shorter ranges (e.g., less than 100 kilometers) than communications using the lower frequencies and longer wavelengths of the high frequency (HF) or very high frequency (VHF) portions of the spectrum below 300 MHz.
[0078] The wireless communication system 100 may utilize both licensed RF spectrum bands and unlicensed RF spectrum bands. For example, the wireless communication system 100 may use unlicensed bands (such as the 5 GHz Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) band) to employ license assisted access (LAA), LTE unlicensed (LTE-U) radio access technology, or NR technology. When operating using unlicensed RF spectrum bands, devices such as network entities 105 and UE 115 may employ carrier sensing for conflict detection and avoidance. In some examples, operations using unlicensed bands may be based on a carrier aggregation configuration combined with component carriers operating using licensed bands (e.g., LAA). Operations using unlicensed spectrum may include downlink transmissions, uplink transmissions, P2P transmissions, or D2D transmissions, and the like.
[0079] The network entity 105 (e.g., base station 140, RU 170) or UE 115 may be equipped with multiple antennas that can be used to employ technologies such as transmit diversity, receive diversity, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications, or beamforming. The antennas of the network entity 105 or UE 115 may be located in one or more antenna arrays or antenna panels, which may support MIMO operations or transmit or receive beamforming. For example, one or more base station antennas or antenna arrays may be co-located at an antenna assembly (such as an antenna tower). In some examples, antennas or antenna arrays associated with the network entity 105 may be located at different geographical locations. The network entity 105 may include an antenna array having a set of antenna ports of multiple rows and columns that the network entity 105 can use to support beamforming for communications with the UE 115. Similarly, the UE 115 may include one or more antenna arrays that may support various MIMO or beamforming operations. Additionally or alternatively, the antenna panel may support RF beamforming for signals sent via the antenna ports.
[0080] The network entity 105 or UE 115 may use MIMO communication to utilize multipath signal propagation and improve spectral efficiency by sending or receiving multiple signals via different spatial layers. Such a technology may be referred to as spatial multiplexing. The multiple signals may be sent, for example, by a transmitting device via different antennas or different combinations of antennas. Similarly, the multiple signals may be received by a receiving device via different antennas or different combinations of antennas. Each of the multiple signals may be referred to as a separate spatial stream and may carry information associated with the same data stream (e.g., the same codeword) or different data streams (e.g., different codewords). Different spatial layers may be associated with different antenna ports for channel measurement and reporting. MIMO technologies include single-user MIMO (SU-MIMO), for which multiple spatial layers are sent to the same receiving device; and multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO), for which multiple spatial layers are sent to multiple devices.
[0081] Beamforming (which may also be referred to as spatial filtering, directional transmission, or directional reception) is a signal processing technique that may be used at a transmitting device or a receiving device (e.g., a network entity 105, a UE 115) to shape or direct an antenna beam (e.g., a transmit beam, a receive beam) along a spatial path between the transmitting device and the receiving device. Beamforming may be achieved by combining signals conveyed via antenna elements of an antenna array so that some signals propagating along a particular direction relative to the antenna array experience constructive interference, while other signals experience destructive interference. Adjustments to signals conveyed via antenna elements may include the transmitting device or the receiving device applying an amplitude offset, a phase offset, or both to signals carried via antenna elements associated with the device. Adjustments associated with each of these antenna elements may be defined by a set of beamforming weights associated with a particular orientation (e.g., relative to the antenna array of the transmitting device or the receiving device, or relative to some other orientation).
[0082] The wireless communication system 100 may support techniques that enable a wireless node, such as an auxiliary node or UE 115, to relay signals associated with multiple signal types, including information communication signals and energy transfer signals. For example, the network entity 105 may send control signaling that configures the wireless node to relay signals associated with multiple signal types, the multiple signal types including at least a first signal type associated with information communication signals and a second signal type associated with energy transfer signals.
[0083] Figure 2 An example of a wireless communication system 200 that supports control signaling for a relay with energy transfer according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. In some examples, the wireless communication system 200 may implement aspects of the wireless communication system 100 or may be implemented by these aspects. For example, the wireless communication system 200 may include one or more network entities 105 (e.g., network entity 105-a) and one or more UEs 115 (e.g., UE 115-a), which may be reference Figure 1 Examples of the corresponding devices described. Figure 2 In the example of FIG. 1 , the network entity 105 - a may be a CU 160, a DU 165, a RU 170, a base station 140, an IAB node 104, or a Figure 1 In some cases, the network entity 105 - a may send control signaling 210 to the wireless node 205 that configures the node 205 to relay signals associated with a plurality of signal types, including an energy transfer signal 215 , a backscatter modulated information signal 220 , and a wireless communication signal 225 .
[0084] Some wireless communication systems may support the transmission of energy signaling (e.g., energy transfer signal 215), such as for PIoT devices (such as PIoT device 240, including RFID tags), etc. For example, an RFID tag (e.g., an RFID microtransponder) may receive the energy transfer signal 215 and transmit a signal carrying information based on receiving the energy transfer signal 215, which may be referred to as an information communication signal or a backscatter modulated information signal 220. That is, an RFID tag (e.g., a passive RFID) may collect the energy transfer signal 215 through the air and a power transmission / reception circuit system to transmit a backscatter modulated information signal 220 (e.g., may operate without a battery with low operating expenses, low maintenance costs, and a long life cycle). In some cases, the RFID may be a semi-passive RFID or an active RFID (e.g., with a battery).
[0085] Some wireless communication systems (e.g., 5th and 6th generation) may support the PIoT device 240 via the capabilities of the network entity 105. For example, the network entity 105 may read and write information stored on the PIoT device 240, provide energy to the PIoT device 240, receive information-bearing signals reflected by the PIoT device 240, read information-bearing signals reflected by the PIoT device 240 to decode information sent by the PIoT device 240, or any combination thereof. However, the PIoT device 240 (such as an RFID tag) may support a short range (e.g., less than 10m) due to insufficient link budget (e.g., power link issues), and reflections from multipath communications may cause fading of the energy transfer signal 215. For example, the power harvesting circuit system may support high input power (e.g., -13 decibel-milliwatt (dBm)) and lower input power (e.g., -20dBm or less), and may not support cost and conversion efficiency (e.g., less than 1%).
[0086] In such cases, an auxiliary node (e.g., a smart repeater, a radio frequency repeater, a passive reflector, etc.), which may be referred to as a wireless node (e.g., wireless node 205), is used to direct the energy transfer signal 215 to the PIoT device 240, relay information-bearing signaling (e.g., backscatter modulated signal 220) from one PIoT device 240 to another PIoT device, or both. However, current auxiliary node configurations may not support relaying (e.g., repeating) energy transfer signals 215 in addition to information-bearing signals (such as backscatter modulated information signals 220 or wireless communication signals 225).
[0087] The techniques described herein may support indicating control signaling 210 that indicates one or more configurations for a wireless node (such as wireless node 205) to relay signals associated with a variety of signal types, including energy transfer signals 215 and information-bearing signals (e.g., information communication signals), such as backscatter modulated information signals 220 (e.g., PIoT communication signals) and wireless communication signals 225 (e.g., NR communication signals). For example, wireless node 205 may be an example of an auxiliary node (e.g., a smart repeater, a radio frequency repeater, a passive reflector, a reconfigurable smart surface (RIS), or an intelligent reflective surface (IRS), etc.). In some cases, wireless node 205 may receive control information (e.g., control signaling 210) for efficient operation (e.g., TDD configuration, enable / disable configuration, spatial information). Additionally, using wireless nodes 205 to relay signaling may improve (eg, extend) coverage of wireless energy transfer, utilize infrastructure for both energy and data transmission, and improve signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) (eg, particularly for millimeter wave (mmW) bands).
[0088] In some cases, the wireless node 205 may send a capability message to the network entity 105-a indicating the wireless node 205's ability to support energy transfer (e.g., transmission), energy reception, or both (e.g., energy harvesting capability). That is, the capability message may indicate the wireless node's ability to relay the energy transfer signal 215 (e.g., reducing reliance on a dedicated energy source).
[0089] In some cases, the network entity 105-a may send control signaling 210 (e.g., downlink control information (DCI), MAC-control element (MAC-CE), or RRC signaling) to the wireless node 205, which indicates one or more configurations for relaying signals associated with multiple signal types between one or more transmitting nodes (such as the network entity 105-a, the energy transmitter 230, and the PIoT device 240-b) and one or more receiving nodes (such as the energy receiver 235, the PIoT device 240-a, and the UE 115-a). For example, a first configuration may be associated with a first signal type, a second configuration may be associated with a second signal type, and a third configuration may be associated with a third signal type. In some cases, the first signal type may be associated with the energy transfer signal 215, the second signal type may be associated with the backscatter modulated information signal 220, and the third signal type may be associated with the wireless communication signal 225. Additionally, the network entity 105-a may send one or more configurations in separate control signaling 210 (e.g., a control message for each of the one or more configurations) or in joint control signaling 210 (e.g., a control message including all of the one or more configurations) based on the capabilities of the wireless node 205 (e.g., indicated to the network entity 105-a).
[0090] In some cases, the control signaling 210 may include one or more transmission parameters (e.g., included in one or more configurations). For example, the one or more transmission parameters may include one or more beam indices. That is, the network entity 105-a may be configured to receive a first beam index for a first signal type and a second beam index for transmitting the first signal type. For example, the wireless node may receive the energy transfer signal 215 via a first beam associated with the first beam index, and transmit the energy transfer signal 215 via a second beam associated with the second beam index. As an illustrative example, the wireless node 205 may receive the energy transfer signal 215 from the energy transfer signal via the first beam associated with the first beam index, and relay (e.g., transmit, reflect, or repeat) the energy transfer signal 215 to the energy receiver 235 via the second beam associated with the second beam index. Similarly, the wireless node may receive the backscatter modulated information signal 220 via a third beam associated with a third beam index, send the backscatter modulated information signal 220 via a fourth beam associated with a fourth beam index, receive the wireless communication signal 225 via a fifth beam associated with a fifth beam index, and send the wireless communication signal 225 via a sixth beam associated with a sixth beam index. In some cases, the number of beams associated with the beam index may not exceed the capabilities of the wireless node 205 (e.g., included in a capabilities message sent to the network entity 105-a). For example, one or more of the first beam, the second beam, the third beam, the fourth beam, the fifth beam, and the sixth beam may be the same or different.
[0091] In some cases, the one or more transmission parameters may include one or more transmission powers. That is, the network entity 105-a may configure a first transmission power for transmitting the energy transfer signal 215, a second transmission power for transmitting the backscatter modulated information signal 220, and a third transmission power for transmitting the wireless communication signal 225. In some cases, the network entity 105-a may indicate one or more transmission powers as an absolute value or a relative value. That is, the network entity 105-a may indicate a transmission power in dBm or an increase / decrease in power in dB relative to a configured reference power (e.g., the reference power may be determined by the wireless node 205 or the network entity 105-a based on path loss, reference signal measurement results, or both). In some cases, the sum of the transmission powers (e.g., the first transmission power, the second transmission power, and the third transmission power) may not exceed the capabilities of the wireless node (e.g., included in a capability message sent to the network entity 105-a).
[0092] In some cases, the one or more transmission parameters may include one or more time and frequency resources, such as reference Figure 3A , Figure 3B and Figure 3C As described. That is, the network entity 105-a may configure a first start and length indicator (SLIV) for the energy transfer signal 215, a second SLIV for the backscatter modulated information signal 220, and a third SLIV for the wireless communication signal 225. Additionally, the network entity 105-a may configure (e.g., preconfigure) the wireless node 205 with a set of frequency resources for each signal type (e.g., for the energy transfer signal 215, for the backscatter modulated information signal 220, for the wireless communication signal 225) such that each signal type is associated with a separate bandwidth part (BWP). Additionally or alternatively, the one or more transmission parameters may include an indication of TDM, FDM, or spatial division multiplexing (SDM) (e.g., splitting all resources equally) for one or more signals to be relayed by the wireless node 205, as described in detail in detail in FIG. 1 . Figure 3A , Figure 3B and Figure 3C described.
[0093] In some cases, the control signaling 210 may include an indication of a priority value associated with each signal type (e.g., a priority ranking of the signal types). For example, a first priority value may be associated with the energy transfer signal 215, a second priority value may be associated with the backscatter modulated information signal 220, and a third priority value may be associated with the wireless communication signal 225. In some cases, the third priority value may be greater than the first priority value, and the first priority value may be greater than the second priority value.
[0094] Additionally, the control signaling 210 may include an indication of one or more transmit power priority rules based on priority values. For example, the wireless node 205 may support signal multiplexing capabilities (e.g., limited multiplexing capabilities), transmit power capabilities (e.g., total transmit power), and transmit / receive beam capabilities (e.g., the number of beams supported by the wireless node 205). In some cases, the wireless node 205 may not expect to receive scheduling for one or more signals that exceeds its capabilities. In some other cases, the wireless node 205 may receive scheduling for one or more signals that exceeds its capabilities, and may apply a transmit power priority rule from one or more transmit power priority rules based on exceeding these capabilities. For example, the network entity 105-a may schedule the wireless node 205 to relay a set of signals of multiple signal types, where the sum of the respective transmit powers of the set of signals exceeds the total transmit power capability of the wireless node 205. In such cases, the wireless node 205 may apply a transmit power priority rule from one or more transmit power priority rules based on exceeding these capabilities.
[0095] In some cases, the first transmit power priority rule may instruct the wireless node 205 to reduce the transmit power of one or more signals of the signal type associated with the lowest priority value. For example, the wireless node 205 may be scheduled to relay the energy transfer signal 215 associated with the first transmit power (e.g., P1) to the energy receiver 235 and to relay the backscatter modulated information signal 220 associated with the second transmit power (e.g., P2) to the PIoT device 240-a, wherein the combination of the first transmit power and the second transmit power may exceed the total transmit power capability (e.g., Pmax) of the wireless node 205. Additionally, the backscatter modulated information signal 220 may be associated with a priority value that is lower than the priority value associated with the energy transfer signal 215. Thus, the wireless node 205 may reduce the second transmit power to a third transmit power (e.g., Pmax-P1) so that the wireless node 205 transmits the energy transfer signal 215 at the first transmit power (e.g., P1) and transmits the backscatter modulated information signal 220 at the third transmit power (e.g., Pmax-P1). In another example, the wireless node 205 may be scheduled to relay an energy transfer signal 215 associated with a first transmit power (e.g., P1), a backscatter modulated information signal 220 associated with a second transmit power (e.g., P2), and a wireless communication signal 225 associated with a third transmit power (e.g., P3), wherein the combination of the first transmit power, the second transmit power, and the third relay power exceeds the total transmit power capability (e.g., Pmax) of the wireless node 205. Additionally, the wireless communication signal 225 may be associated with a priority value that is greater than the priority value associated with the backscatter modulated information signal 220 and the priority value associated with the energy transfer signal 215. Thus, the wireless node 205 may reduce the first transmit power and the second transmit power so that the energy transfer signal 215 and the backscatter modulated information signal 220 are transmitted at a fourth transmit power (e.g., the wireless node 205 may split the residual transmit power equally if they are equal powers). That is, the wireless node 205 can send a wireless communication signal 225 at a third transmission power (e.g., P3), send an energy transfer signal 215 at a fourth transmission power (e.g., (Pmax-P3) / 2), and send a backscatter modulated information signal 220 at the fourth transmission power.
[0096] In some cases, the second transmit power priority rule may instruct the wireless node 205 to reduce the transmit power of each signal in the set of signals to be relayed by the wireless node 205 based on the respective priority values of each signal in the set of signals being the same (e.g., equal). For example, the wireless node 205 may be scheduled to relay the energy transfer signal 215 associated with the first transmit power to the energy receiver 235 and to relay the backscatter modulated information signal 220 associated with the second transmit power to the PIoT device 240-a, wherein the combination of the first transmit power and the second transmit power may exceed the total transmit power capability of the wireless node 205. Additionally, the backscatter modulated information signal 220 may be associated with a priority value that is equal to the priority value associated with the energy transfer signal 215. Thus, the wireless node 205 may reduce the first transmit power to a third transmit power and reduce the second transmit power to a fourth transmit power, such that the wireless node 205 transmits the energy transfer signal 215 at the third (e.g., reduced) transmit power and transmits the backscatter modulated information signal 220 at the fourth (e.g., reduced) transmit power. In some cases, the wireless node 205 may reduce the first transmit power and the second transmit power by the same amount. In some other cases, the wireless node 205 may reduce the first transmit power and the second transmit power by different amounts (eg, based on the configuration of the wireless node 205).
[0097] In some cases, the control signaling 210 may include an indication of a transmission priority rule, where the transmission priority rule is based on a priority value. In some cases, the transmission priority rule may direct the wireless node 205 to discard one or more signals associated with the lowest priority value. For example, the wireless node 205 may be scheduled to relay a wireless communication signal 225 associated with a first transmission power (e.g., P1), an energy transfer signal 215 associated with a second transmission power (e.g., P2), and a backscatter-modulated information signal 220 associated with a third transmission power (e.g., P3), where the combination of the first transmission power, the second transmission power, and the third transmission power exceeds the total transmission power capacity of the wireless node 205 (e.g., Pmax). Additionally, the wireless communication signal 225 may be associated with a first priority value, the energy transfer signal 215 may be associated with a second priority value, and the backscatter-modulated information signal 220 may be associated with a third priority value, where the first priority value is greater than the second priority value, and the second priority value is greater than the third priority value (e.g., wireless communication signal 225 > energy transfer signal 215 > backscatter-modulated information signal 220). In some cases, the wireless node 205 may discard the backscatter-modulated information signal 220 based on the condition that the third priority value is the lowest priority value, and the sum of the first transmission power (e.g., associated with the wireless communication signal 225) and the second transmission power (e.g., associated with the energy transfer signal 215) is less than the total transmission power capacity of the wireless node 205 (e.g., P1 + P2 < Pmax). In some other cases, the wireless node 205 may discard the energy transfer signal 215 and the backscatter-modulated information signal 220 based on the condition that the second priority value and the third priority value are less than the first priority value, and the first transmission power (e.g., associated with the wireless communication signal 225) is less than the total transmission power capacity of the wireless node 205 (e.g., P1 < Pmax).
[0098] In another example, the wireless node 205 may be scheduled to relay the wireless communication signal 225 via a first beam, the energy transfer signal 215 via a second beam, and the backscatter modulated information signal 220 via a third beam, wherein the first beam, the second beam, and the third beam are different (e.g., a total of three beams) and the wireless node 205 may be capable of supporting two beams. Additionally, the wireless communication signal 225 may be associated with a first priority value, the energy transfer signal 215 may be associated with a second priority value, and the backscatter modulated information signal 220 may be associated with a third priority value, wherein the first priority value is greater than the second priority value, and the second priority value is greater than the third priority value. In some cases, the wireless node 205 may discard the backscatter modulated information signal 220 based on the following conditions: the third priority value is the lowest priority value and the wireless node 205 supports two beams (e.g., when the wireless node 205 is capable of supporting two beams, the wireless node 205 is scheduled to use three beams to relay signals).
[0099] Figure 3A , Figure 3B and Figure 3C Each illustrates an example of multiplexing communication 300 supporting control signaling for a repeater with energy transfer according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure. In some examples, the multiplexing communication scheme 300 (e.g., multiplexing communication scheme 300-a, multiplexing communication scheme 300-b, and multiplexing communication scheme 300-c) can implement or be implemented by aspects of the wireless communication system 100 and the wireless communication system 200. For example, the multiplexing communication scheme 300 can be implemented by a wireless node, which can be an example of a network entity 105, a UE 115, etc., as shown in reference Figure 1 In some cases, the network entity 105 may send control signaling to the wireless node 205 that configures the wireless node to relay signals associated with multiple signal types, including the energy transfer signal 305 , the backscatter modulated information signal 310 , and the wireless communication signal 315 .
[0100] In some cases, Figure 3AIn an example of , the network entity 105 may configure the wireless node to use one or more TDM techniques to relay signals associated with multiple signal types, including energy transfer signals 305, backscatter modulated information signals 310, and wireless communication signals 315. For example, the wireless node may send the energy transfer signal 305-a via beam 320-a during a first duration (e.g., according to a first set of time resources), send the backscatter modulated information signal 310-a via beam 320-b during a second duration (e.g., according to a second set of time resources), and send the wireless communication signal 315-a via beam 320-c during a third duration (e.g., according to a third set of time resources), wherein the first duration, the second duration, and the third duration are unique (e.g., the first set of time resources, the second set of time resources, and the third set of time resources are different). In some cases, there may be a switching time 325-a between the transmission of the energy transfer signal 305-a and the transmission of the backscatter modulated information signal 310-a, and there may be a switching time 325-b between the backscatter modulated information signal 310-a and the wireless communication signal 315-a. In some cases, the switching time 325-a may be the same as the switching time 325-b. In some other cases, the switching time 325-a may be different from the switching time 325-b (e.g., the switching time 325 may be different after the transmission or reception of different signal types). Additionally or alternatively, the switching time 325 may be based on the ability of the wireless node to re-tune the hardware (e.g., RF hardware) between signal transmissions (e.g., change the transmit power, beam 320, perform BWP / band switching). That is, the switching time 325 may meet (e.g., exceed) a threshold, where the threshold is based on the capabilities of the wireless node. In some cases, one or more of the first frequency associated with energy transfer signal 305-a, the second frequency associated with backscatter modulated information signal 310-a, and the third frequency associated with wireless communication signal 315 may be the same or different. Additionally or alternatively, one or more of beam 320-a, beam 320-b, and beam 320-c may be the same or different.
[0101] In some cases, Figure 3BIn an example of , the network entity 105 may configure the wireless node to use one or more FDM techniques to relay signals associated with multiple signal types, including energy transfer signals 305, backscatter modulated information signals 310, and wireless communication signals 315. That is, the wireless node may send the energy transfer signal 305-b via beam 320-d at a first frequency (e.g., according to a first set of frequency resources), send the backscatter modulated information signal 310-b via beam 320-e at a second frequency (e.g., according to a second set of frequency resources), and send the wireless communication signal 315-b via beam 320-f at a third frequency (e.g., according to a third set of frequency resources), wherein the first frequency, the second frequency, and the third frequency are unique (e.g., the first set of frequency resources, the second set of frequency resources, and the third set of frequency resources are different). Additionally or alternatively, one or more of beam 320-d, beam 320-e, and beam 320-f may be the same or different.
[0102] In some cases, based on one or more capabilities of the wireless node (e.g., hardware capabilities or maintaining phase continuity and tuning transmit power), the corresponding SLIVs associated with each signal type may be the same or different. For example, the energy transfer signal 305-b may be associated with a first SLIV, the backscatter modulated information signal 310-b may be associated with a second SLIV, and the wireless communication signal 315-b may be associated with a third SLIV. In some examples, the first SLIV, the second SLIV, and the third SLIV may be the same, so that the corresponding starting positions and durations of the energy transfer signal 305-b, the backscatter modulated information signal 310-b, and the wireless communication signal 315-b may be the same. In some other examples, one or more of the first SLIV, the second SLIV, and the third SLIV may be different. For example, the third SLIV associated with the wireless communication signal 315-b may be limited to one or more of the first SLIV associated with the energy transfer signal 305-b or the second SLIV associated with the backscatter modulated information signal 310-b. That is, the wireless communication signal 315-b may overlap (e.g., completely overlap) with the energy transfer signal 305-b, the backscatter modulated information signal 310-b, or both in the time domain (e.g., the wireless node may not start or end transmission of the energy transfer signal 305, the backscatter modulated information signal 310, or both during transmission of the wireless communication signal 315). In some other examples, the first SLIV, the second SLIV, and the third SLIV may be based on the RF associated with each signal type (e.g., the wireless node has a separate RF for each signal type, which may be indicated to the network entity in a capability report).
[0103] In some cases, Figure 3C In an example of , the network entity 105 may configure the wireless node to use one or more SDM techniques (e.g., in combination with TDM techniques, FDM techniques, or both) to relay signals associated with multiple signal types, including energy transfer signals 305, backscatter modulated information signals 310, and wireless communication signals 315. That is, the wireless node may send the energy transfer signal 305-c via beam 320-g, send the backscatter modulated information signal 310-c via beam 320-h, and send the wireless communication signal 315-c via beam 320-j. Additionally, the wireless node may send the energy transfer signal 305-c via the backscatter modulated information signal 310-c and the wireless communication signal 315-c using the same set of time and frequency resources (e.g., on different spatial layers). Additionally or alternatively, one or more of the beams 320-g, 320-h, and 320-j may be the same or different.
[0104] In some cases, the wireless node may (e.g., due to the ability of the wireless node to support two or more simultaneous beams) use a common beam to relay (e.g., send or receive) two or more of the energy transfer signal 305, the backscatter modulated information signal 310, and the wireless communication signal 315. For example, in Figure 3A , beam 320-a may be the same as beam 320-b, and beam 320-b may be the same as beam 320-c (e.g., the best beam for each receiving node). In some cases, the wireless node may (e.g., based on wireless node capabilities) split the available transmit power equally between the energy transfer signal 305-a relayed via beam 320-a, the backscatter modulated information signal 310-a relayed via beam 320-b, and the wireless communication signal 315-a relayed via beam 320-c. In some other cases, the wireless node may split the available transmit power between the energy transfer signal 305-a relayed via beam 320-a, the backscatter modulated information signal 310-a relayed via beam 320-b, and the wireless communication signal 315-a relayed via beam 320-c based on the configuration, as shown in reference to FIG. Figure 2 That is, the network entity 105 may configure the wireless node to use the configured transmit power to relay one or more of the energy transfer signal 305, the backscatter modulated information signal 310, and the wireless communication signal 315 (e.g., the wireless node is configured to use more transmit power for one type of signal). For example, the network entity 105 may configure the wireless node with a (e.g., static or dynamic) power offset to be applied to one or more signal types (e.g., the backscatter modulated information signal 310 or the wireless communication signal 315).
[0105] In another example (e.g., in Figure 3A In the embodiment of the present invention, beam 320-a and beam 320-b may be the same (e.g., a wide beam), while beam 320-c may be different. That is, a receiving node associated with energy transfer signal 305-a may be close to a receiving node associated with backscatter modulated information signal 310-a, so that the wireless node may use the same beam (e.g., a wide beam or an adjacent beam) to send energy transfer signal 305-a and backscatter modulated information signal 310-a.
[0106] Although much of the present disclosure is described in the context of a wireless node sending one or more signals associated with multiple signal types (including energy transfer signals 305, backscatter modulated information signals 310, and wireless communication signals 315), this should not be viewed as a limitation of the present disclosure. In fact, it is contemplated herein that a wireless node may send one or more signals associated with multiple signal types based on control signaling that configures the wireless node to relay signals associated with multiple signal types. In this regard, the reception of one or more signals associated with multiple signal types may be considered with reference to the techniques described herein. Additionally or alternatively, the simultaneous reception and transmission of one or more signals associated with multiple signal types may be considered with reference to the techniques described herein.
[0107] Figure 4 An example of a process flow 400 for supporting control signaling for a repeater with energy transfer according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. In some examples, the process flow 400 can implement or be implemented by aspects of the wireless communication system 100, the wireless communication system 200, and the wireless communication system 300. For example, the process flow 400 can include one or more network entities 105 (e.g., network entity 105-b) and one or more UEs 115 (e.g., UE 115-b), which can be reference Figure 1 Examples of the corresponding devices described. Figure 4 In the example of FIG. 1 , the network entity 105 - b may be a CU 160, a DU 165, a RU 170, a base station 140, an IAB node 104, or a Figure 1 In some cases, the network entity 105-b may send control signaling to a wireless node 405 (eg, an assist node or a relay node) that includes an indication of one or more configurations for relaying signals associated with multiple signal types.
[0108] In some cases, at 415, the wireless node 405 may send a capability message to the network entity 105-b indicating that the wireless node 405 supports the ability to relay energy transfer signaling.
[0109] At 420, the network entity 105-b may send control signaling to the wireless node 405, the control signaling including an indication of one or more configurations for relaying signals associated with multiple signal types between one or more transmitting nodes (such as the PIoT device 410 or the network entity 105-b) and one or more receiving nodes (such as the UE 115-b), wherein the multiple signal types include at least a first signal type associated with an information communication signal and a second signal type associated with an energy transfer signal. In some cases, the first signal type may include a first information communication signal associated with wireless communication between the network entity 105-b and the UE 115-b and a second information communication signal associated with backscatter modulated information signaling from a passively powered device (such as the PIoT device 410). In some cases, the network entity 105-b may send the control signaling based on receiving the capability message.
[0110] In some cases, the control signaling may include an indication of one or more transmission parameters (e.g., included in one or more configurations) for relaying a subset of one or more signals of at least a first signal type, a second signal type, or both. For example, the one or more transmission parameters may include one or more beam indices, wherein the one or more beam indices include at least a first beam index associated with the first signal type and a second beam index associated with the second signal type. Additionally or alternatively, the one or more transmission parameters may include one or more transmission powers, wherein the one or more transmission powers include at least a first transmission power associated with the first signal type and a second transmission power associated with the second signal type.
[0111] Additionally or alternatively, the one or more transmission parameters may include one or more time and frequency resource sets, wherein the one or more time and frequency resource sets include at least a first time and frequency resource set associated with the first signal type and a second time and frequency resource set associated with the second signal type. In some cases, the one or more configurations may indicate an FDM configuration for transmitting multiple signal types, and the SLIV associated with the first time and frequency resource set may be based on the SLIV associated with the second time and frequency resource set. In some other cases, the one or more configurations may indicate a TDM configuration for transmitting multiple signal types, and the duration between the first time and frequency resource set and the second time and frequency resource set may satisfy a threshold duration, wherein the threshold duration is based at least in part on the beam switching capability of the wireless node 405.
[0112] Additionally or alternatively, one or more transmission parameters may include a priority value set associated with a plurality of signal types, wherein the priority value set includes at least a first priority value associated with a first signal type and a second priority value associated with a second signal type. In some cases, one or more configurations may include an indication of one or more transmit power priority rules associated with the priority value set. For example, a first transmit power priority rule in the one or more transmit power priority rules may instruct the wireless node 405 to reduce the transmit power of one or more signals of a signal type associated with a lowest priority value in the priority value set associated with the plurality of signal types. In another example, a second transmit power priority rule in the one or more transmit power priority rules may instruct the wireless node 405 to reduce the transmit power of each signal in a signal set, wherein the priority values associated with each signal type in the signal set are equal. Additionally or alternatively, one or more configurations may include an indication of a transmit priority rule associated with a priority value set. For example, the transmit priority rule may instruct the wireless node 405 to discard one or more signals of a signal type associated with a lowest priority value in the priority value set associated with the plurality of signal types.
[0113] In some cases, the wireless node 405 may receive one or more signals of the first signal type, the second signal type, or both. For example, at 425, the network entity 105-b may send to the wireless node 405 an information communication signal (e.g., associated with the first signal type) to be relayed to the UE 115-b, and at 430, the network entity 105-b may send to the wireless node 405 an energy transfer signal (e.g., associated with the second signal type) to be relayed to the PIoT device 410. In some cases, the processes described at 425 and 430 may occur simultaneously. Additionally, the information communication signal may be associated with a first priority value based on the first signal type, and the energy transfer signal may be associated with a second priority value based on the second signal type.
[0114] In some cases, at 435, the transmit parameters associated with the information communication signal and the transmit parameters associated with the energy transfer signal (e.g., based on one or more configurations) may exceed the capabilities of the wireless node 405. For example, the combination of the transmit power associated with the information communication signal and the transmit power associated with the energy transfer signal may exceed the transmit power capability (e.g., maximum transmit power) of the wireless node 405. As a result, the wireless node 405 may reduce the transmit power of the information communication signal, the energy transfer signal, or both based on one or more transmit power rules indicated in the control signaling. For example, the first priority value associated with the information communication signal may be greater than the second priority value associated with the energy transfer signal, causing the wireless node 405 to reduce the transmit power of the energy transfer signal. In another example, the first priority value associated with the information communication signal may be equal to the second priority value associated with the energy transfer signal, causing the wireless node 405 to reduce the transmit power of both the information communication signal and the energy transfer signal.
[0115] In some cases, at 440, the transmission parameters associated with the information communication signal and the transmission parameters associated with the energy transfer signal (e.g., based on one or more configurations) may exceed the capabilities of the wireless node 405, and the wireless node 405 may discard the information communication signal or the energy transfer signal based on the transmission priority rules indicated in the control signaling. For example, a first priority value associated with the information communication signal may be greater than a second priority value associated with the energy transfer signal, causing the wireless node 405 to discard the energy transfer signal.
[0116] In some cases, the wireless node 405 may relay at least a subset of one or more signals of the first signal type, the second signal type, or both according to one or more configurations. For example, at 445, the wireless node 405 may relay the information communication signal to the UE 115-b, and at 450, the wireless node may relay the energy transfer signal to the PIoT device 410. In some cases, the processes described at 445 and 450 may occur simultaneously.
[0117] Figure 5 A block diagram 500 of a device 505 supporting control signaling for a relay with energy transfer according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure is shown. The device 505 may be an example of aspects of a UE 115 as described herein. The device 505 may include a receiver 510, a transmitter 515, and a communication manager 520. In some examples, a processor and a memory coupled to the processor may be configured to perform one or more of the functions described herein (e.g., by executing instructions stored in the memory by the processor).
[0122] Additionally or alternatively, in some examples, the communication manager 520, the receiver 510, the transmitter 515, or various combinations or components thereof may be implemented in code executed by a processor (e.g., as communication management software or firmware). If implemented in code executed by a processor, the functionality of the communication manager 520, the receiver 510, the transmitter 515, or various combinations or components thereof may be performed by a general purpose processor (e.g., configured as or otherwise supporting means for performing the functionality described in the present disclosure), a DSP, a CPU, an ASIC, an FPGA, a microcontroller, or any combination of these or other programmable logic devices.
[0123] In some examples, communication manager 520 can be configured to perform various operations (e.g., receive, obtain, monitor, output, send) using or otherwise cooperating with receiver 510, transmitter 515, or both. For example, communication manager 520 can receive information from receiver 510, transmit information to transmitter 515, or be integrated with receiver 510, transmitter 515, or both to obtain information, output information, or perform various other operations as described herein.
[0124] According to examples as disclosed herein, the communication manager 520 may support wireless communications at a wireless node. For example, the communication manager 520 may be configured to or otherwise support a component for receiving control signaling, the control signaling including an indication of one or more configurations for relaying signals associated with a set of multiple signal types between one or more transmitting nodes and one or more receiving nodes, wherein the set of multiple signal types includes at least a first signal type associated with an information communication signal and a second signal type associated with an energy transfer signal.
