[0006] Summary of the Invention
[0007] Technical problem to be solved by the invention
[0008] In the above-described configuration, the cell assembly includes a portion that allows the electrode leads of adjacent battery cells to be bent, overlap, and electrically connect to each other. This portion eliminates the need for a busbar connecting the electrode leads, allowing the electrode leads to be electrically connected to the module terminals provided on the end frame. However, the bending and welding of the electrode leads can easily lead to significant manufacturing tolerances in the portion where the electrode leads are connected, particularly in the front-to-back direction.
[0009] In the above configuration, when connecting the electrode leads and module terminals by laser welding or the like, due to the large manufacturing tolerances in the front-to-back direction of the electrode leads, the module terminals may not be able to fully contact the electrode leads. Insufficient contact between the module terminals and the electrode leads can lead to poor electrical connection between the electrode leads and the module terminals.
[0010] Means for solving technical problems
[0011] The wiring unit of the present disclosure is installed on a battery stack, wherein the battery stack is composed of a plurality of laminated batteries with electrode leads, and the battery stack has a joint portion for overlapping and joining the electrode leads of the laminated batteries with each other, the wiring unit having: a terminal; an electric wire connected to the terminal; and a protector for holding the terminal and the electric wire, the terminal having: a main body; a connecting portion extending from the main body and connected opposite to the electrode lead constituting the joint in a first direction; and at least one bent plate portion extending from the main body toward the laminated battery side in the first direction, the protector having: a protector main body; and at least one recess recessed relative to the protector main body toward the laminated battery side in the first direction to accommodate the bent plate portion, the bent plate portion being inserted into the recess and being movable in the first direction so that the connecting portion can contact the electrode lead.
[0012] Effects of the Invention
[0013] According to the present disclosure, it is possible to provide a wiring unit having excellent electrical connection reliability between terminals and electrode leads. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0041] First, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described by way of examples.
[0042] (1) The wiring unit of the present disclosure is installed on a battery stack, which is composed of a plurality of laminated batteries with electrode leads stacked together, and has a joint portion for overlapping and joining the electrode leads of the laminated batteries to each other, the wiring unit comprising: a terminal; an electric wire connected to the terminal; and a protector for holding the terminal and the electric wire, the terminal comprising: a main body; a connecting portion extending from the main body and connected opposite to the electrode lead constituting the joint portion in a first direction; and at least one bent plate portion extending from the main body toward the laminated battery side in the first direction, the protector comprising: a protector main body; and at least one recessed portion recessed relative to the protector main body toward the laminated battery side in the first direction to accommodate the bent plate portion, the bent plate portion being inserted into the recess and movable in the first direction so that the connecting portion can contact the electrode lead.
[0043] According to this configuration, by inserting the bent plate portion into the recessed portion so as to enable movement in the first direction, the connecting portion can move relative to the protector in the first direction. Therefore, when the connecting portion is connected to the electrode lead constituting the joint portion, the connecting portion and the electrode lead can be brought into contact even if there are manufacturing tolerances in the first direction of the electrode lead. This improves the reliability of the electrical connection between the connecting portion and the electrode lead.
[0044] (2) Preferably, the terminal comprises: a bent portion connecting the end edge of the main body portion and the end edge of the bent plate portion; and a folded portion connected to the main body portion, the bent portion and the bent plate portion, and overlapping with the main body portion, the bent portion and the bent plate portion.
[0045] According to such a configuration, the strength of the bent portion can be improved by the folded portion.
[0046] (3) Preferably, the terminal has a bent portion connecting the end edge of the main body portion and the end edge of the bent plate portion, the plate thickness direction of the bent portion continuously changes from the first direction to a direction orthogonal to the first direction as it moves from the main body portion toward the bent plate portion, and the bent portion has a protrusion protruding from the bent portion toward the plate thickness direction of the bent portion.
[0047] According to such a configuration, the protrusion can improve the strength of the bent portion.
[0048] (4) Preferably, the bent plate portion includes a protrusion portion that protrudes from the bent plate portion toward the inner wall of the recess in a direction perpendicular to the first direction and extends in the first direction, and the protrusion portion and the protrusion portion are continuously formed.
[0049] According to such a configuration, by forming the ridges, the portion where the bent plate portion contacts the inner wall of the recess can be reduced, so even if the bent plate portion contacts the inner wall of the recess, the bent plate portion becomes easy to slide. In addition, since the ridges and the protrusions are formed continuously, the ridges and the protrusions are easily formed.
[0050] (5) Preferably, a protrusion is provided on the side wall of the recess, and the protrusion abuts against the bent plate portion.
[0051] According to this structure, by providing a protrusion on the side wall of the recess, the contact area between the recess and the bent plate is reduced, which makes it easier for the bent plate to slide in the recess compared to the situation where the entire plane of the bent plate contacts the recess.
[0052] (6) Preferably, the terminal includes a plurality of the bent plate portions.
[0053] According to such a configuration, the shape of the terminal can be easily controlled by forming a plurality of bent plate portions.
[0054] (7) Preferably, the protector includes a contact portion that contacts the terminal from the laminated battery side in the first direction.
[0055] According to this configuration, the contact portion can restrict movement of the terminal toward the laminated battery in the first direction.
[0056] (8) Preferably, the protector includes a locking portion that is locked to the terminal from the side opposite to the laminated battery side in the first direction.
[0057] According to such a configuration, the locking portion can restrict movement of the terminal toward the side opposite to the laminated battery side in the first direction.
[0058] (9) Preferably, the protector has a flexible piece extending from the protector body and capable of being bent and deformed in a direction perpendicular to the first direction. The front end portion of the flexible piece has the locking portion, which is arranged in the recess. An opening portion that passes through the bent plate portion is formed in the bent plate portion, and the edge of the opening portion has a locking receiving portion that is locked with the locking portion.
[0059] According to such a configuration, by providing the flexible piece having the locking portion, the bent plate portion can be smoothly inserted into the recessed portion and the terminal can be locked to the protector.
[0060] (10) Preferably, a limiting column is provided on the protector body, a through hole is opened on the terminal, the limiting column is passed through the through hole, the limiting column includes a column body and a column head connected to the column body, along the height direction of the column body, the projection area of the column head is larger than the projection area of the through hole, and the projection area of the through hole is larger than the projection area of the column body.
[0061] According to such a structure, not only can the through hole on the terminal pass through the column, but the terminal can also move along the height direction of the column, and the limiting column and the protector body jointly limit the forward and backward movement of the terminal.
[0062] (11) Preferably, the terminal includes a wire connecting portion extending from the main body and connected to the wire, the wire connecting portion including a base; and a crimping piece extending from the base, the wire being arranged on the side of the laminated battery closer to the first direction relative to the base and being crimped by the crimping piece.
[0063] With this configuration, since the wires are positioned closer to the laminated battery than the base in the first direction, it is easier to reduce the protrusion from the main body of the wire connector toward the side opposite the laminated battery in the first direction. This allows the wiring unit to be reduced in size in the first direction.
[0064] (12) Preferably, the terminal includes an extended wire connection portion, the protector body is provided with a wire connection portion accommodating portion, and the wire connection portion is arranged in the wire connection portion accommodating portion.
[0065] According to such a structure, the wire connecting portion and the wire connecting portion accommodating portion are arranged in coordination, so that the terminal can be prevented from rotating during welding with the electrode lead, thereby improving the stability of the terminal and avoiding poor welding.
[0066] (13) Preferably, an arc-shaped connecting portion is provided on the connecting portion, a plurality of strip-shaped holes are opened on the arc-shaped connecting portion, and the arc-shaped connecting portion is configured to absorb the expansion of the electrode lead.
[0067] According to such a structure, an arc-shaped connecting portion is provided at the connecting portion of the terminal, so that the arc-shaped connecting portion can absorb the displacement of the electrode lead caused by the expansion of the battery cell, thereby avoiding the risk of the terminal structure being unstable, falling off or even breaking due to the terminal being pulled when the battery cell expands and deforms.
[0068] [Detailed Description of Embodiments of the Present Disclosure]
[0069] The following describes embodiments of the present disclosure. The present disclosure is not limited to these examples, but is shown by the claims, which are intended to include all modifications within the meaning and scope of protection of the claims and equivalents thereof.
[0070] <Implementation Method 1>
[0071] 1 to 15 , an embodiment 1 of the present disclosure is described. The battery module 10 having the wiring unit 20 of the present embodiment is mounted on a vehicle such as an electric vehicle or a hybrid vehicle, and is used as a driving source for the vehicle. In the following description, for a plurality of identical components, sometimes only some of the components are marked with reference numerals, while the reference numerals of the other components are omitted. In the following description, the direction indicated by the arrow line X is set to the front, the direction indicated by the arrow line Y is set to the left, and the direction indicated by the arrow line Z is set to the top. In this embodiment, the front-to-back direction is an example of the first direction.
[0072] [Battery stack]
[0073] The power storage module 10 includes a battery stack 11L, as shown in FIG13 , and a wiring unit 20, as shown in FIG1 , mounted on the battery stack 11L. As shown in FIG1 , the power storage module 10 of this embodiment further includes a housing 15 that covers the battery stack 11L from all sides, top, bottom, left, and right. The housing 15 consists of a bottom 15A positioned on the lower surface of the battery stack 11L, a top 15B positioned on the upper surface of the battery stack 11L, and a pair of side portions 15C connecting the bottom 15A and the top 15B on the left and right sides.
[0074] [Laminated battery, electrode lead]
[0075] As shown in Figure 13, the battery stack 11L is formed by stacking a plurality of (18 in this embodiment) laminated batteries 11 in the left-right direction. In addition, in Figure 13, only the front side of the battery stack 11L is shown. As shown in Figure 14, the laminated battery 11 is formed into a shape that is long in the front-to-back direction and flat in the left-to-right direction. A storage element (not shown) is housed inside the laminated battery 11. A pair of electrode leads 12 are arranged on both sides of the laminated battery 11 in the front-to-back direction, protruding in opposite directions to each other. The pair of electrode leads 12 are plate-shaped and have opposite polarities to each other.
[0076] [Joint]
[0077] As shown in Figures 4 and 13 , the battery stack 11L is provided with a joint 13 that electrically connects the four electrode leads 12 of the laminated batteries 11 arranged in a row in the left-right direction. Specifically, the four electrode leads 12 are bent to the left or right at a substantially right angle, overlapped, and joined by laser welding to form the joint 13. The electrode leads 12 that constitute the joint 13 are connecting electrode leads 12A. Of the four connecting electrode leads 12A, the two connecting electrode leads 12A on the right and the two connecting electrode leads 12A on the left have opposite polarity. For example, the two connecting electrode leads 12A on the right are positive electrodes, and the two connecting electrode leads 12A on the left are negative electrodes. Thus, in the battery stack 11L, the joint 13 connects the two laminated batteries 11 connected in parallel in series. As shown in Figure 13 , the battery stack 11L has four joints 13 at the front. Although not shown, the battery stack 11L also includes four joints 13 at the rear portion.
[0078] The process of forming the joint 13 includes bending and laser welding of the electrode lead 12. Therefore, the tolerance of the joint 13 (and the connecting electrode lead 12A) in the front-to-back direction is particularly likely to be large. For example, in this embodiment, the tolerance of the joint 13 (and the connecting electrode lead 12A) in the front-to-back direction is approximately ± several millimeters, which is approximately five times the thickness of the electrode lead 12.
[0079] As shown in Figures 4 and 13, the battery stack 11L has an output portion 14 at the left end of the front portion. Although not shown in the figure, the battery stack 11L also has an output portion 14 at the right end of the rear portion. The output portion 14 is formed by joining two electrode leads 12 that do not constitute the joining portion 13 among the electrode leads 12. The electrode lead 12 constituting the output portion 14 is set as an output electrode lead 12B. The two output electrode leads 12B constituting one output portion 14 have the same polarity as each other. The output portion 14 constitutes the positive electrode or negative electrode of the entire battery stack 11L. That is, for example, when the output portion 14 at the front is the total positive electrode of the battery stack 11L, the output portion 14 at the rear is the total negative electrode of the battery stack 11L.
[0080] [Wiring unit]
[0081] As shown in Figure 1 , the wiring unit 20 of this embodiment includes terminals 30 connected to the connection electrode leads 12A; busbars 40 connected to the output electrode leads 12B; wires 45 connected to the terminals 30; and a protector 50 that holds the terminals 30, busbars 40, and wires 45. The following describes in detail the configuration of the wiring unit 20 located on the front side of the storage module 10. Although not shown, the wiring unit 20 located on the rear side of the storage module 10 has the same configuration as the wiring unit 20 located on the front side of the storage module 10.
[0082] The busbar 40 is plate-shaped and is formed by processing a conductive metal plate. As shown in Figure 2, the busbar 40 includes a first portion 40A extending in the vertical direction and a second portion 40B connected to the upper end of the first portion 40A. The first portion 40A is flat in the front-to-back direction. The second portion 40B extends rightward from the upper end of the first portion 40A and is flat in the vertical direction. The busbar 40 is held by the busbar retaining portion 53 of the protector 50 and is connected to the output electrode lead 12B at the vertical center of the first portion 40A. A busbar-side connecting portion 41 is provided at the right end of the second portion 40B.
[0083] As shown in Figure 1 , the busbar-side connection portion 41 has a through-hole 41A for inserting a bolt. External connection terminals (not shown) overlap the busbar-side connection portion 41 and are fastened to the busbar-side connection portion 41 with bolts. This electrically connects the busbar-side connection portion 41 to the external connection terminals. The external connection terminals are used to connect external equipment (not shown) to the battery module 10.
[0084] [electric wire]
[0085] As shown in Figures 6 and 15 , the electric wire 45 includes a core wire 46 and an insulating coating 47 that covers the core wire 46. One end of the electric wire 45 is connected to the terminal 30. As shown in Figure 1 , the other ends of the electric wires 45 are bundled and connected to a connector 48. The electric wires 45 are routed in a wiring recess 50A of the protector 50 and arranged at a predetermined position.
[0086] As shown in Figure 2, the connector 48 comprises an insulating synthetic resin housing 48A and male terminals 48B housed within the housing 48A. The connector 48 mates with a mating connector (not shown) having female terminals. The mating connector is connected to an external ECU (Electronic Control Unit) or the like via unillustrated wiring. The ECU is a component equipped with a microcomputer and other components. It is a well-known structure that performs functions such as detecting the voltage, current, and temperature of each laminated battery 11 and controlling the charge and discharge of each laminated battery 11.
[0087] [Terminal]
[0088] As shown in Figure 15, the terminal 30 is formed by processing a conductive metal plate. It comprises a main body 31; a connecting portion 32 extending rightward from the main body 31; a bent plate 33 extending rearward from the lower portion of the main body 31; and a wire connecting portion 34 extending upward from the main body 31. As shown in Figure 3, the main body 31 is located on the left side of the terminal 30 and has a rectangular shape when viewed from the front. The main body 31 is housed in the terminal accommodating portion 54, with the plate thickness extending in the front-to-back direction.
[0089] [Connection]
[0090] As shown in Figure 15, the connecting portion 32 is rectangular and is long in the left-right direction, and is formed in the same plane as the main body 31. The connecting portion 32 protrudes further upward and downward than the main body 31 in the vertical direction. As shown in Figure 4, the connecting portion 32 is formed in a manner so as to be connected to the joint 13 or a portion of the connecting electrode lead 12A that constitutes the joint 13 by surface contact. That is, the terminal 30 is not a component for connecting adjacent connecting electrode leads 12A, but a component for connecting the pre-connected connecting electrode lead 12A (joint 13) to the electric wire 45. Therefore, the vertical dimension of the connecting portion 32 can also be smaller than the vertical dimension of the connecting electrode lead 12A.
[0091] [bend part, curved part]
[0092] As shown in Figure 15, the curved plate portion 33 is bent approximately perpendicularly to the main body portion 31 and extends rearward. The curved plate portion 33 is arranged so that the plate thickness direction is in the vertical direction. The lower end of the main body portion 31 and the front end of the curved plate portion 33 are connected via a curved portion 35. The plate thickness direction of the curved portion 35 changes from the front-to-back direction to the vertical direction as it moves from the main body portion 31 toward the curved plate portion 33.
[0093] [Opening, locking receiving part]
[0094] An opening portion 36 is formed on the bent plate portion 33 to pass through in the up-down direction. The opening portion 36 is arranged in the center portion of the bent plate portion 33 in the left-right direction. The edge portion in the middle and rear sides of the edge portion of the opening portion 36 is provided as a latching receiving portion 36A. As shown in FIG7 , the latching receiving portion 36A can be latched with the latching portion 65A of the flexure 62 described later. As shown in FIG15 , the opening portion 36 has an expanded opening portion 36B that extends to the side of the main body 31. By forming the expanded opening portion 36B, when the terminal 30 moves in the front-back direction relative to the protector 50, the lower end portion of the main body 31 will not interfere with the flexure 62 (refer to FIG6 ).
[0095] [Wire connection part]
[0096] As shown in Figures 6 and 15 , the wire connector 34 includes a base 34A that is flush with the main body 31 and crimping pieces 34B extending from both ends of the base 34A in the left and right directions. The crimping pieces 34B include a first crimping piece 34C and a second crimping piece 34D spaced vertically from the first crimping piece 34C. The first crimping piece 34C is located on the main body 31 side of the wire connector 34 and crimps the core wire 46 of the wire 45. The second crimping piece 34D is located at the upper end of the wire connector 34 and crimps the insulating covering 47 of the wire 45. The wire connector 34 is shown in simplified form except in Figures 5 to 7 and 15 .
[0097] As shown in FIG6 , the crimping piece 34B crimps the wire 45 behind the base 34A. The wire connector 34 disposed behind the main body 31 is housed in a wire connector accommodating portion 57, described later. This configuration reduces the front-to-back dimensions of the wiring unit 20.
[0098] [Protector]
[0099] As shown in FIG1 , the protector 50 is made of an insulating synthetic resin and is plate-shaped. The protector 50 includes a protector body 51 positioned relative to the housing 15 (and the battery stack 11L). As shown in FIG2 , electrode accommodating recesses 52 are arranged side by side in the left-right direction in the central portion in the vertical direction of the protector body 51. The electrode accommodating recesses 52 are formed through the front-to-back direction and are rectangular in shape, which is longer in the vertical direction. The electrode accommodating recesses 52 are composed of a connecting electrode accommodating recess 52A and an output electrode accommodating recess 52B. The connecting electrode accommodating recess 52A receives the joint 13 and the connecting electrode lead 12A, and the output electrode accommodating recess 52B receives the output electrode lead 12B and the output portion 14.
[0100] As shown in FIG2 , busbar holding portions 53 are provided above and below the output electrode accommodating recess 52B to hold the busbar 40. Bolt fastening portions 53A are provided on the right side of the upper busbar holding portion 53 for fastening the busbar 40 with bolts. A terminal accommodating portion 54 is provided on the obliquely lower left side of the connecting electrode accommodating recess 52A to accommodate a portion of the terminal 30.
[0101] [Contact part]
[0102] As shown in FIG12 , the terminal accommodating portion 54 is formed by being recessed rearward from the protector main body 51. The terminal accommodating portion 54 includes a main body accommodating portion 55, a recess 56, and a wire connection portion accommodating portion 57. The main body accommodating portion 55 is arranged at the lower portion of the terminal accommodating portion 54. The main body accommodating portion 55 includes a bottom wall portion 55A; a left wall portion 55B extending forward from the left end portion of the bottom wall portion 55A; and a connecting hole 55C opening to the right. The connecting hole 55C is connected to the connecting electrode accommodating recess 52A. As shown in FIG11 , the main body accommodating portion 55 accommodates the main body 31 of the terminal 30. As shown in FIG6 , the front surface of the bottom wall portion 55A forms an abutting portion 58 that abuts the terminal 30 from the rear. As shown in FIG11 , the connecting portion 32 side of the main body 31 is arranged in the connecting hole 55C, and the connecting portion 32 is arranged inside the connecting electrode accommodating recess 52A.
[0103] [concave]
[0104] As shown in Figures 8 and 12, a recess 56 is formed below the main body housing portion 55. The recess 56 is recessed further rearward than the main body housing portion 55. The recess 56 extends through the protector 50 in the front-to-back direction. As shown in Figure 10, the inner wall 59 forming the recess 56 includes a first inner wall 59A and a second inner wall 59B that oppose each other in the vertical direction, and two side walls 59C that oppose each other in the left-to-right direction. The first inner wall 59A is positioned above the second inner wall 59B (on the main body housing portion 55 side). The dimension between the first inner wall 59A and the second inner wall 59B is set to be the same as, or slightly larger than, the thickness (vertical dimension) of the bent plate portion 33. The dimension between the two side walls 59C is set to be the same as, or slightly larger than, the left-to-right dimension of the bent plate portion 33. The bent plate portion 33 is housed within the recess 56, allowing for sliding contact between the bent plate portion 33 and the inner wall 59 of the recess 56. As shown in FIG5 to FIG7 and FIG9 , the terminal 30 can move in the front-rear direction relative to the protector body 51 due to the sliding contact between the bent plate portion 33 and the inner wall 59 of the recess 56 .
[0105] As shown in Figure 5, a guide portion 60 is formed on the front side of the lower end of the bottom wall portion 55A. The guide portion 60 is inclined downward as it moves toward the rear. When the bent plate portion 33 is inserted into the recess 56, the guide portion 60 guides the rear end of the bent plate portion 33 so that it is drawn into the recess 56.
[0106] As shown in Figure 12, the wire connector accommodating portion 57 is arranged to be connected to the upper portion of the main body accommodating portion 55. As shown in Figure 6, the wire connector accommodating portion 57 is formed to be recessed toward the rear of the bottom wall portion 55A. Specifically, when the main body 31 of the terminal 30 arranged in the terminal accommodating portion 54 abuts the front surface (abutment portion 58) of the bottom wall portion 55A, the front surface of the wire connector accommodating portion 57 is set to a position where the wire connector 34 will not contact it. The upper portion of the wire connector accommodating portion 57 is connected to the wiring recess 50A for the wiring of the wires 45.
[0107] [Flexible sheet]
[0108] As shown in Figure 12, below the recess 56, a flexure piece accommodating recess 61 is formed so as to be recessed rearward from the protector body 51. An entry port 61A recessed rearward from the front end of the second inner wall 59B is formed on the second inner wall 59B between the recess 56 and the flexure piece accommodating recess 61. The recess 56 is connected to the flexure piece accommodating recess 61 through the entry port 61A. As shown in Figure 8, the flexure piece 62 extends upward from the inner wall on the lower side of the flexure piece accommodating recess 61. As shown in Figure 12, a portion of the flexure piece 62 is arranged inside the entry port 61A so that the front end of the flexure piece 62 enters the recess 56.
[0109] As shown in Figure 8, the flexure piece 62 includes: a plurality of plate portions 63 that are long in the front-to-back direction and flat in the up-down direction; and a connecting portion 64 that connects two adjacent plate portions 63. In this embodiment, the plurality of plate portions 63 are composed of a front end side plate portion 63A arranged on the front end side (upper side) of the flexure piece 62 and a base end side plate portion 63B arranged on the base end side (lower side) of the flexure piece 62. The front end side plate portion 63A and the base end side plate portion 63B are arranged to overlap with a gap in the up-down direction. The front end portion of the front end side plate portion 63A and the front end portion of the base end side plate portion 63B are smoothly connected in a step-free state by the arched connecting portion 64. The rear end portion of the base end side plate portion 63B is connected to the inner wall of the lower side of the flexure piece accommodating recess 61. The flexure piece 62 is capable of flexing and deforming in the up-down direction.
[0110] [Locking part]
[0111] The front side plate portion 63A includes a locking protrusion 65 that protrudes upward from the upper surface of the front side plate portion 63A. The locking protrusion 65 is located at the rear end of the front side plate portion 63A. The rear end surface of the locking protrusion 65 is defined as the locking portion 65A. An inclined portion 65B is located at the front portion of the locking protrusion 65. The inclined portion 65B tilts upward as it moves toward the rear. The locking portion 65A and the inclined portion 65B are arranged so as to be connected in the front-to-back direction. The locking protrusion 65 is located in the front space within the recess 56.
[0112] When the bent plate portion 33 is inserted into the recess 56, the bent plate portion 33 is moved rearward while being brought into contact with the inclined portion 65B of the locking protrusion 65, causing the flexing piece 62 to gradually bend downward. When the rear end surface (locking portion 65A) of the locking protrusion 65 is positioned within the opening 36 of the bent plate portion 33, the flexing piece 62 returns from its elastically deformed state to its natural state, and the locking portion 65A and the locking receiving portion 36A become opposed to each other in the front-to-back direction and can be locked (see Figure 7). The provision of the inclined portion 65B thus facilitates the insertion of the bent plate portion 33 into the recess 56 and the locking of the bent plate portion 33 with the locking portion 65A.
[0113] [Movement of the terminal relative to the protector in the front-to-back direction]
[0114] The configuration of the protector 50 that accommodates the terminal 30 and the configuration of the terminal 30 are described above. The following describes the movement of the terminal 30 relative to the protector 50 in the front-to-back direction. As described above, since the tolerance of the joint 13 (and the connecting electrode lead 12A) in the front-to-back direction tends to increase, the connecting portion 32 of the terminal 30 can also move in the front-to-back direction to match the position of the joint 13 in the front-to-back direction. This ensures that the terminal 30 and the connecting electrode lead 12A are in contact, thereby improving the reliability of the electrical connection between the terminal 30 and the connecting electrode lead 12A using laser welding.
[0115] In the present embodiment, the bent plate portion 33 of the terminal 30 is arranged in the recess 56 of the terminal accommodating portion 54, so that the terminal 30 can move in the front-to-back direction relative to the protector 50. The terminal 30 can move in the front-to-back direction between a first position (refer to FIG6 ) and a second position (refer to FIG7 ) relative to the protector main body 51. Here, the first position is the rearmost position to which the terminal 30 can move, and the second position is the frontmost position to which the terminal 30 can move. As shown in FIG6 , when the terminal 30 is arranged in the first position, the rear surface of the main body 31 abuts against the abutting portion 58. Thus, the terminal 30 is restricted from moving backward. As shown in FIG7 , when the terminal 30 is arranged in the second position, the locking receiving portion 36A of the terminal 30 is locked with the locking portion 65A of the flexure 62. Thus, the terminal 30 is restricted from moving forward.
[0116] The length between the first position and the second position in the front-to-back direction is set to be the same as or greater than the length obtained by multiplying the tolerance in the front-to-back direction of the connecting electrode lead 12A by two times. In addition, the middle position between the first position and the second position is the average position in the front-to-back direction of the connecting electrode lead 12A. By setting the first position and the second position in this way, after the protector body 51 of the wiring unit 20 is fixed relative to the battery stack 11L, the terminal 30 can follow the connecting electrode lead 12A. In detail, when the terminal 30 is laser welded to the connecting electrode lead 12A, the connecting portion 32 of the terminal 30 is pressed against the connecting electrode lead 12A by a clamp or the like. At this time, the terminal 30 moves in the front-to-back direction in matching with the connecting electrode lead 12A. Thus, it is possible to ensure that the connecting portion 32 is in close contact with the connecting electrode lead 12A, so that the laser welding of the connecting portion 32 to the connecting electrode lead 12A is carried out well.
[0117] [Effects of Embodiment 1]
[0118] According to the first embodiment, the following functions and effects are produced. The wiring unit 20 involved in the first embodiment is installed in the battery stack 11L, which is composed of a plurality of laminated batteries 11 having electrode leads 12 stacked together, and has a joint 13 formed by overlapping and joining the electrode leads 12 of the laminated batteries 11. The wiring unit 20 includes: a terminal 30; an electric wire 45 connected to the terminal 30; and a protector 50 for holding the terminal 30 and the electric wire 45. The terminal 30 includes: a main body 31; a connecting portion 32 extending from the main body 31 and connected to the structure. The electrode leads 12 forming the joint 13 are connected opposite each other in the first direction (front-back direction); and at least one bent plate portion 33 extends from the main body 31 toward the side (rear side) of the laminated battery 11 in the first direction. The protector 50 has: a protector main body 51; and at least one recess 56, which is recessed toward the side of the laminated battery 11 in the first direction relative to the protector main body 51 and accommodates the bent plate portion 33. The bent plate portion 33 is inserted into the recess 56 and can move in the first direction, thereby allowing the connecting portion 32 to contact the electrode lead 12.
[0119] According to this configuration, the bent plate portion 33 is inserted into the recess 56 to be movable in the first direction, thereby enabling the connection portion 32 to move in the first direction relative to the protector 50. Therefore, when the connection portion 32 is connected to the electrode lead 12 constituting the joint 13, even if there is a manufacturing tolerance in the first direction of the electrode lead 12, the connection portion 32 can still be brought into contact with the electrode lead 12. This improves the reliability of the electrical connection between the connection portion 32 and the electrode lead 12.
[0120] In the first embodiment, the protector 50 includes the contact portion 58 and contacts the terminal 30 from the laminated battery 11 side in the first direction.
[0121] According to such a configuration, the contact portion 58 can restrict the terminal 30 from moving toward the laminated battery 11 in the first direction.
[0122] In the first embodiment, the protector 50 includes the locking portion 65A, and is locked to the terminal 30 from the side (front side) opposite to the laminated battery 11 side in the first direction.
[0123] According to such a configuration, the locking portion 65A can restrict the terminal 30 from moving toward the side opposite to the laminated battery 11 side in the first direction.
[0124] In embodiment 1, the protector 50 has a flexible piece 62, which extends from the protector body 51 and can bend and deform in a direction perpendicular to the first direction (up and down direction). The front end portion of the flexible piece 62 has a locking portion 65A, which is arranged in the recess 56. An opening portion 36 is formed in the bent plate portion 33 and passes through the bent plate portion 33. The edge of the opening portion 36 has a locking receiving portion 36A, which is locked with the locking portion 65A.
[0125] According to such a configuration, by providing the flexible piece 62 having the locking portion 65A, the bent plate portion 33 can be smoothly inserted into the recess 56 and the terminal 30 can be locked to the protector 50 .
[0126] In embodiment 1, the terminal 30 includes a wire connecting portion 34 extending from the main body 31 and connected to the wire 45. The wire connecting portion 34 includes: a base 34A; and a crimping piece 34B extending from the base 34A. The wire 45 is arranged at a position closer to the side of the laminated battery 11 in the first direction than the base 34A and is crimped to the crimping piece 34B.
[0127] With this configuration, since the wires 45 are positioned closer to the laminated battery 11 than the base portion 34A in the first direction, it is easy to reduce the protrusion of the main body 31 of the wire connection portion 34 toward the side opposite to the laminated battery 11 in the first direction. This allows the wiring unit 20 to be reduced in size in the first direction.
[0128] <Implementation Method 2>
[0129] 16 and 17 , the second embodiment of the present disclosure is described. The same components as those in the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals as those in the first embodiment, and descriptions thereof are sometimes omitted. Furthermore, descriptions of the same functions and effects as those in the first embodiment are omitted. The terminal 130 in the second embodiment includes two bent plate portions 33. By increasing the number of bent plate portions 33 compared to the first embodiment, the terminal 130 can be easily moved relative to the protector 50 in a more stable manner.
[0130] The two bent plate portions 33 are arranged to extend in the same direction as the main body portion 31 of the terminal 130, that is, in the front-to-back direction in which the terminal 130 can move. For example, as shown in FIG16 , the two bent plate portions 33 may be arranged on the lower side and left side of the main body portion 31. In addition, as shown in FIG17 , the two bent plate portions 33 may be arranged on the lower side and upper side of the main body portion 31 in a manner opposite to each other. Although not shown in the figures, the protector 50 has recesses 56 at positions corresponding to the two bent plate portions 33. That is, two recesses 56 are formed on the protector 50 relative to one terminal 130.
[0131] [Effects of Embodiment 2]
[0132] According to the second embodiment, the following operations and effects are achieved: In the second embodiment, the terminal 130 includes a plurality of (two) bent plate portions 33 .
[0133] According to such a configuration, by forming a plurality of bent plate portions 33 , the shape of the terminal 130 can be easily controlled.
[0134] <Implementation Method 3>
[0135] 18 , embodiment 3 of the present disclosure is described. The same components as those in embodiment 1 are denoted by the same reference numerals as those in embodiment 1, and descriptions thereof are sometimes omitted. Furthermore, descriptions of the same functions and effects as those in embodiment 1 are omitted. The terminal 230 according to embodiment 3 includes a folded-back portion 237 at the left end portion of the terminal 230. The folded-back portion 237 is folded back so as to overlap with the left end portion of the main body 31, the left end portion of the bent portion 35, and the left end portion of the bent plate portion 33.
[0136] [Effects of Embodiment 3]
[0137] According to Embodiment 3, the following functions and effects are produced. In Embodiment 3, the terminal 230 includes: a bent portion 35 connecting the end edge of the main body portion 31 and the end edge of the bent plate portion 33; and a folded portion 237 connected to the main body portion 31, the bent portion 35, and the bent plate portion 33 and overlapping with the main body portion 31, the bent portion 35, and the bent plate portion 33.
[0138] According to such a configuration, the strength of the bent portion 35 can be improved by the folded portion 237 .
[0139] <Implementation Method 4>
[0140] Embodiment 4 of the present disclosure is described with reference to FIG19 . The same structures as those in Embodiment 1 are marked with the same reference numerals as those in Embodiment 1, and descriptions are sometimes omitted. In addition, descriptions of the same effects as those in Embodiment 1 are omitted. The terminal 330 involved in Embodiment 4 includes a protrusion 337 at the left end portion of the terminal 330. The protrusion 337 includes at least a portion that protrudes from the outer curved surface of the bent portion 35 in the plate thickness direction of the bent portion 35. The protrusion 337 of Embodiment 4 also includes a portion that protrudes forward from the front surface of the main body 31 and a portion that protrudes downward from the lower surface of the bent plate portion 33. The protrusion 337 of Embodiment 4 is formed by hammering.
[0141] [Effects of Embodiment 4]
[0142] According to Embodiment 4, the following actions and effects are produced. In Embodiment 4, the terminal 330 includes a bent portion 35 connecting the end edge of the main body portion 31 and the end edge of the bent plate portion 33, the plate thickness direction of the bent portion 35 continuously changes from a first direction (front-back direction) to a direction orthogonal to the first direction (up-down direction) as it moves from the main body portion 31 toward the bent plate portion 33, and the bent portion 35 includes a protrusion 337 that protrudes from the bent portion 35 in the plate thickness direction of the bent portion 35.
[0143] According to such a configuration, the protrusion 337 can improve the strength of the bent portion 35 .
[0144] <Implementation Method 5>
[0145] Embodiment 5 of the present disclosure is described with reference to Figures 20 to 22. The same components as those in Embodiment 1 are denoted by the same reference numerals as those in Embodiment 1, and the description thereof may be omitted. Furthermore, the description of the same functions and effects as those in Embodiment 1 is omitted. As shown in Figure 20, the terminal 430 according to Embodiment 5 includes: a protrusion 437 protruding from the bent portion 35 in the same manner as the protrusion 337 of Embodiment 4; and a protrusion 438 formed continuously with the protrusion 437 on the bent plate portion 33.
[0146] The protrusion 437 of the fifth embodiment is smaller in the left-right direction than the protrusion 337 of the fourth embodiment. Furthermore, the terminal 430 of the fifth embodiment includes two protrusions 437 arranged in the left-right direction. The two protrusions 437 are formed at the left and right ends of the bent portion 35. The protrusion 437 includes at least a portion that protrudes from the outer curved surface of the bent portion 35 in the thickness direction of the bent portion 35. The protrusion 437 of the fifth embodiment also includes a portion that protrudes forward from the front surface of the main body 31.
[0147] In the fifth embodiment, two protrusions 438 are formed at the left and right ends of the curved plate portion 33. The protrusions 438 are elongated in the front-to-back direction and protrude downward from the lower surface of the curved plate portion 33. The front ends of the protrusions 438 are continuous with the lower ends of the protrusions 437. The protrusions 437 and 438 of the fifth embodiment are formed by reinforcement. Like the protrusions 337 of the fourth embodiment, the protrusions 437 and 438 contribute to increasing the strength of the curved portion 35.
[0148] As shown in Figures 21 and 22, in the storage module 410 (wiring unit 420) of the fifth embodiment, the protrusion 438 is accommodated in the recess 56 of the protector 50. The protrusion 438 is configured to be opposite to the second inner wall 59B of the protector 50 and to be in sliding contact. In the first embodiment, the lower surface of the bent plate portion 33 as a whole is in surface contact and sliding contact with the second inner wall 59B. In contrast, in the fifth embodiment, the lower portion of the protrusion 438 in the bent plate portion 33 is in surface contact with the second inner wall 59B, and is in sliding contact in a manner similar to so-called line contact. As a result, compared with the first embodiment, in the fifth embodiment, the frictional resistance involved in the sliding contact between the terminal 430 and the inner wall 59 of the recess 56 is reduced, and the terminal 430 becomes easier to move in the front-to-back direction relative to the protector body 51.
[0149] [Effects of Embodiment 5]
[0150] According to Embodiment 5, the following functions and effects are achieved. In Embodiment 5, the curved plate portion 33 includes a protrusion 438 that protrudes from the curved plate portion 33 toward the inner wall 59 (second inner wall 59B) of the recess 56 in a direction perpendicular to the first direction (downward) and extends in the first direction, and the protrusion 438 is formed continuously with the protrusion 437.
[0151] According to this configuration, the protrusion 438 can reduce the contact area between the bent plate portion 33 and the inner wall 59 of the recess 56. Therefore, even if the bent plate portion 33 contacts the inner wall 59 of the recess 56, the bent plate portion 33 can slide easily. In addition, since the protrusion 438 and the protrusion 437 are formed continuously, the protrusion 438 and the protrusion 437 can be easily formed.
[0152] <Implementation Method 6>
[0153] Embodiment 6 will be described with reference to Figures 23 to 26 . Components identical to those in Embodiment 1 are denoted by the same reference numerals as in Embodiment 1, and descriptions thereof may be omitted. Furthermore, descriptions of the same functions and effects as those in Embodiment 1 are omitted. As shown in Figures 24 and 26 , a wire connector 34 extends from the terminal 30, and a wire connector accommodating portion 57 is provided on the protector body 50. The wire connector 34 is accommodated within the wire connector accommodating portion 57.
[0154] [Effects of Embodiment 6]
[0155] According to this structure, the wire connection part 34 and the wire connection part accommodating part 57 are arranged in coordination, so that the terminal 30 can be prevented from rotating during welding with the electrode lead 12, thereby improving the stability of the terminal 30 and avoiding poor welding.
[0156] <Implementation Method 7>
[0157] Embodiment 7 is described with reference to FIG27 . The same components as those in Embodiment 1 are denoted by the same reference numerals as those in Embodiment 1, and descriptions thereof are sometimes omitted. Furthermore, descriptions of the same effects as those in Embodiment 1 are omitted. An arcuate connecting portion 32A is provided on the connecting portion 32, and the arcuate connecting portion 32A is configured to absorb the displacement of the electrode lead 12. Furthermore, a plurality of strip-shaped holes are provided on the arcuate connecting portion 32A, thereby forming the arcuate connecting portion 32A in a comb-tooth shape, which facilitates deformation of the arcuate connecting portion 32A to absorb the displacement of the electrode lead 12 when the electrode lead 12 is displaced.
[0158] [Effects of Embodiment 7]
[0159] According to such a structure, the electrode lead 12 is connected to the end of the laminated battery 11. When the laminated battery 11 expands and deforms, the electrode lead 12 will also move to a certain extent following the battery cell. However, in this embodiment, an arc-shaped connecting portion 32A is provided on the connecting portion 32 of the terminal 30, so that the arc-shaped connecting portion 32A can absorb the displacement of the electrode lead 12, thereby avoiding the risk of the terminal 30 being pulled when the electrode lead 12 is displaced, resulting in structural instability, falling off or even breakage of the terminal 30.
[0160] <Other Implementation Methods>
[0161] (1) In the above embodiment, the joint 13 is formed by joining four electrode leads 12, but the present invention is not limited to this. The joint can be formed by joining a plurality of electrode leads. (2) In embodiment 1, the terminal 30 is configured to have an opening portion 36, and the edge of the opening portion 36 has a locking receiving portion 36A, but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the terminal may be configured to have no opening portion and to have a locking receiving portion protruding from the bent plate portion. (3) In the above embodiment, the protector 50 has a flexible piece 62, and the flexible piece 62 has a locking portion 65A, but the present invention is not limited to this. The protector may also lock the terminal from the front side by a component different from the flexible piece. (4) The wire connection portion 34 of embodiment 1 extends upward from the main body 31, but may also extend downward from the main body 31 as shown in Figures 23 and 24. (5) In embodiment 1, the bent plate portion 33 is located at the lower end of the main body portion 31, but it can also be located above the main body portion 31 as shown in Figures 23 and 24. (6) As another alternative to embodiment 5, as shown in Figures 25 and 26, in this embodiment, a protrusion 56A is provided on the side wall of the recess 56, and the protrusion 56A abuts against the flat sheet-like bent plate portion 33, reducing the contact area between the recess 56 and the bent plate portion 33, and facilitating the movement of the bent plate portion 33 in the recess 56. (7) As another alternative to the locking portion 65A in embodiment 1, as shown in Figures 25 and 26, in this embodiment, a limiting column 66 is provided on the protector body 50, and a through hole 37 is provided on the terminal 30, and the limiting column 66 is passed through the through hole 37. Specifically, the limiting column 66 includes a column 66A and a column head 66B connected to the column 66A. Along the height direction of the column 66A, the projection area of the column head 66B is larger than the projection area of the through hole 37, and the projection area of the through hole 37 is larger than the projection area of the column 66A. In this way, not only can the through hole 37 on the terminal 30 pass through the column 66A, but the terminal 30 can also move along the height direction of the column 66A. The column head 66B and the protector body jointly limit the forward and backward movement of the terminal 30.
