Abstract

This disclosure provides a method, apparatus, electronic device, and storage medium for accelerating a vehicle, relating to the field of vehicle technology. The method includes: in response to receiving a gear shifting command, if the HMCVT currently meets delayed shifting conditions, determining a target vehicle speed; determining a target engine speed based on the target gear corresponding to the gear shifting command and the target vehicle speed; determining an engine speed control rate based on the current engine speed and the target engine speed; and increasing the engine speed using the speed control rate. In this disclosure, if a vehicle equipped with a mechanical continuously variable transmission (HMCVT) requires delayed shifting due to operating conditions, increasing the engine speed can compensate for the shift lag caused by the inability to shift immediately, thus improving the driver's driving experience.
