[0028] Now referring to Figures 1 to 3 , a first embodiment of a male condom and ring combination or kit 100 having the features of the present invention is shown. Specifically, the kit 100 includes at least one male condom 102 having at least one wearable ring 104 coupled thereto. The male condom 102 has a condom base 106, a tubular sheath 108, and a storage tip 110 for receiving and collecting semen. The condom 102 and the ring 104 may be made of a soft, comfortable, and durable material, such as polyurethane, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), natural rubber latex, silicone, other suitable natural or synthetic materials, or any combination of these materials.
[0029] Coupled to the condom base 106 is at least one wearable ring 104. As shown, the ring 104 may be in the shape of a smooth, symmetric ring having a smooth outer surface and a smooth inner surface. Optionally, the ring 104 may have one or more enlarged portions or nodes spaced around the ring 104 to apply additional pressure at one or more points around the penis and / or testicles. In this form, the ring 104 may have a wavy appearance / cross-section.
[0030] The ring 104 may be permanently or removably coupled to the condom base 106 by one or more flexible extensions 112. Optionally, the extensions 112 have elastic properties or are made of an elastic material, allowing them to extend and retract if the extensions 112 are pulled. If removably coupled, the extensions 112 may be frangible such that the extensions 112 may break and the ring 104 may be physically separated from the condom 102 if the user so chooses. The extensions 112 may be of any length, but preferably, the length of the extensions 112 may be about 1 to 3 inches, and more preferably, the length is about 1 to 1.5 inches.
[0031] The method of using the first embodiment 100 includes the steps of: a) After achieving an erection, the user places the wearable ring 104 around the penile shaft, thereby reducing the venous return of the penis. Optionally, if desired, the ring 104 is placed around the penile shaft and the testicles. Once the ring 104 is in place, the user then unfolds the condom 102 in a known manner and applies it to the penis.
[0032] Optionally, the user may first break the extensions 112, then apply the ring 104, and then apply the condom 102.
[0033] Now referring to Figure 4 , a second embodiment of a male condom and ring kit 400 is shown. In this embodiment, the condom 402 and the ring 404 are not coupled to each other by an extension, but are packaged and sold as a combination. The condom 402 and the ring 404 may be individually packaged and sold together, or packaged in the same container / bag.
[0034] Now referring to Figure 5 , a third embodiment of a male condom and ring kit 500 is shown. In this embodiment, the kit 500 includes at least one condom 502 and at least one ring 504, but preferably two or more rings 504A, 504B. Although two or more rings 504A, 504B may have the same diameter, preferably, the two rings 504A, 504B have two different diameters such that they are two different "sizes", and this allows the user to select the ring 504 that best suits their desires.
[0035] Now referring to Figure 6 and Figure 7 , two different configurations of two or more rings 504A, 504B of the kit 500 are shown. Two or more rings 504A, 504B may be physically separated from each other, as shown in Figure 5 Figure 5 shown, or the rings 504 may be physically coupled to each other via one or more extensions 602, 702, as shown in Figure 6 and Figure 7 As shown. The extensions 602, 702 are configured to break when a user attempts to separate the rings 504A, 504B from each other.
[0036] In Figure 6 , the rings 504A, 504B are stacked on top of each other such that the ring 504A with the smaller diameter is located slightly above the ring 504B with the larger diameter. In this configuration, the extension 602 is positioned at an angle slightly upward from the upper surface 604 of the ring 504B and is connected to the ring 504A along the lower side surface 606. The slight angle of the extension 602 relative to the rings 504A, 504B can be seen in Figure 6 .
[0037] In Figure 7 , the ring 504A with the smaller diameter is nested within the ring 504B with the larger diameter such that their top surfaces are flush with each other and the nested pair of rings 504A, 504B lies relatively flat. In this configuration, the extension 702 extends substantially horizontally from the inner surface 704 of the ring 504B to the outer surface 706 of the ring 504A. The horizontal orientation of the extension 702 relative to the rings 504A, 504B can be seen in Figure 7 .
[0038] Now referring to Figure 8 and Figure 9 , two different packaging forms of the embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 7 are shown.
[0039] In Figure 8 , a single package 800 with a single internal compartment 802 is shown. Within this single compartment 802, one or more, preferably two or more, rings 504A, 504B are stacked on top of at least one rolled-up male condom 502. Due to the different diameters, ideally, the condom 502 is at the bottom of the stack, then the ring 504B with the larger diameter is placed on top of the condom 502, and the ring 504A with the smaller diameter (relative to the ring 504B) is placed on top of the ring 504B. It should be noted that any one of the above ring and condom combinations 100, 400, 500, 600, 700 can be packaged in the manner shown in Figure 8 .
[0040] In Figure 9In [description], a single package 900 having at least two internal compartments 902A, 902B is shown. Although the at least two internal compartments 902A, 902B are physically separated from each other, they are both part of the same overall package 900. In this configuration, at least one rolled-up condom 502 is in the first compartment 902A, and one or more, preferably two or more, rings 504A, 504B are in the second compartment 902B. The two or more compartments 902A, 902B are not limited to Figure 9 the side-by-side configuration shown in [description], and it should be noted that the compartments 902A, 902B can be oriented in any manner understood by a person of ordinary skill in the art.
[0041] The packaging embodiments 800, 900 can both be in the form of a known male condom package made of plastic or metal foil material, which can be easily torn open to access its contents. Optionally, one or more sides of the packaging 800, 900 can be transparent or opaque, such that a user can observe the contents of the packaging 800, 900 before opening the packaging 800, 900.
[0042] The present invention has the following advantages:
[0043] Since one or more rings 504 have been packaged together with the condom 502, the user only needs to make one purchase. Additionally, although condoms 502 are typically sold at many different locations (such as gas stations, grocery stores, and drugstores), it is difficult to find a retailer that sells the wearable rings 504. Thus, the present invention meets this need by providing both items in the same package 800, 900.
[0044] Furthermore, although many users wish to use the wearable rings 504, different users have different size requirements. The kit 500 of the present invention provides the option of two different-sized rings together with the condom. Then, the user can select the ring that best suits their needs without having to separately purchase one or more rings and guess which size is the best.
[0045] Although the present invention has been described in considerable detail with reference to certain preferred embodiments, other embodiments are possible. For example, the steps disclosed in the method of the present invention are not intended to be restrictive, nor are they intended to indicate that each step is necessary for the method, but are merely exemplary steps. Thus, the scope of the appended claims should not be limited to the description of the preferred embodiments contained in this disclosure. All references cited in the present invention are incorporated by reference.
