[0190] refer to Figure 1 and Figure 2 , describes an exemplary embodiment of a multi-purpose physical exercise device 1 (interchangeably referred to herein as device 101) that includes an upper platform 2 and a base 3, which, in the illustrated example, is formed of a unitary body upon which platform 2 is mounted. In some examples, base 3 may be formed from two or more parts joined together, which may or may not constitute a unitary body. Base 3 includes a truncated spherical outer surface that constitutes at least half of a sphere forming curved bottom surface 4 of curved bottom portion 5. Device 1 has a central axis 11 that, in the illustrated example, is perpendicular to upper platform 2 and extends vertically in a vertical orientation. Central axis 11 passes through a center of curvature 4A of curved bottom surface 4 and its vertex 13. In some examples, central axis 11 may not be perpendicular to upper platform 2; for example, upper platform 2 may be tilted at an angle other than 90° relative to central axis 11. The base 3 is constructed so that the central axis 11 is capable of tilting so that the curved bottom surface 4 rolls on the outer surface and maintains contact with the outer surface, while the device (i.e., the central axis 11) is rotated in any direction about the vertical orientation up to an angle of at least 90° relative to the vertical orientation to perform musculoskeletal stretching with a full range of motion.
[0191] It should be understood herein that the outer surface may be any surface that allows the curved bottom surface 4 to roll thereon and may include, for example, a platform, a floor, the ground, etc., and for the purposes of this specification, all of these terms have been used interchangeably herein.
[0192] In some exemplary embodiments, the curved bottom surface 4 has a cross-section having a profile that constitutes at least half of a circle, preferably the curved bottom surface 4 is spherical and constitutes at least half of a sphere, ideally about half of a sphere, to ensure that musculoskeletal stretching can be performed within a full range of motion. The shape of the base 3 is configured to be rotatable so that the curved bottom surface 4 maintains a point of contact with the ground while the central axis 11 is rotated in any direction up to at least 90° (relative to the reference) relative to the vertical orientation. Figures 5A to 5F Examples of multi-purpose physical exercise devices described and illustrated are described in detail. In some embodiments, the upper platform 2 is rigid to enable use as a balance board, but in alternative embodiments, the upper platform 2 includes a flexible material to provide a more comfortable surface for arms and legs during other exercises. In some embodiments, the upper platform 2 is rigid in the sense that the upper platform is more rigid than the curved bottom portion 5 and is configured to at least indirectly support a body part of a user while the user exercises using the multi-purpose physical exercise device. For example, the upper platform 2 itself can support a body part of a user, or can be configured for attaching a support member that supports a body part of a user to the upper platform (see below). Figures 6A to 6E Detailed description is provided below. In some examples, the upper platform may include, at least in part, a mounting arrangement for allowing the support member to be mounted to the upper platform. In some examples, the mounting arrangement may include a quick-fit arrangement, including a snap-fit attachment arrangement and / or a VELCRO connection arrangement, wherein one connection element is secured to the upper platform 2 and another corresponding connection element is secured to the support member. In some examples, the platform 2 may be rigid and may include a flexible material on the upper surface 12 of the platform to provide a more comfortable surface for the arms and legs during other exercises.
[0193] In some embodiments, the distance between the upper surface 12 of the upper platform 2 and the apex 13 of the curved bottom surface 4 is configured to enable a user lying on the ground to place their lower legs on the upper platform 2 while keeping their hips and knees above approximately 90° from the ground, i.e., at least 40 cm, preferably between 40 cm and 45 cm, and more preferably about 43 cm.
[0194] In some embodiments, the distance between the upper surface 12 of the upper platform 2 and the apex 13 of the curved bottom surface 4 can be configured to enable a user to rest their forearms on the upper platform 2 when performing a plank exercise, i.e., at least 40 cm from the ground, preferably between 40 cm and 45 cm, and more preferably about 43 cm.
[0195] exist Figure 1 and Figure 2In the exemplary embodiment illustrated, the diameter of the upper platform 2 is smaller than the diameter of the uppermost and outermost portions 14 of the curved bottom surface 4, which enables the device 1 to be rotated up to at least 90° from a vertical position for musculoskeletal stretching with a full range of motion. The base 3 includes a rim portion 15 extending upwardly beyond the curved bottom surface 4 for connection to the upper platform 2 without penetrating the interior of the curved bottom surface 4. In some embodiments, the rim portion 15 includes a ring that circumferentially supports the upper platform 2, wherein the through holes are arranged along the ring, but other methods of connecting the upper platform 2 to the rim portion 15 are possible. Thus, the upper platform 2 can be easily removed and reattached for cleaning and / or replacement with a different upper platform (e.g., having a different color and / or texture). The unitary body of the base 3 includes a tapered (e.g., narrowing) neck portion 16 extending between the curved bottom surface 4 and the rim portion 15, again enabling the device 1 to be rotated up to at least 90° from a vertical position for musculoskeletal stretching with a full range of motion (relative to the reference Figures 5A to 5F The example of the multi-purpose physical exercise device described and illustrated is described in detail. The curved bottom portion 5 includes an uppermost edge 14 positioned opposite the vertex 13 of the curved bottom surface 4. The neck portion 16 has a neck lower edge 16A connected at the uppermost edge 14 of the curved bottom portion 5 and an opposing neck upper edge 16B. The neck lower edge 16A has a neck lower diameter D1, and the neck upper edge has a neck upper diameter D2 that is smaller than the neck lower diameter D1. The neck lower diameter D1 is equal to the diameter D3 of the uppermost edge 14 of the curved bottom portion 5. The upper platform 2 has a platform diameter D4 that is smaller than the neck lower diameter D1, and is therefore smaller than the diameter D3 of the uppermost edge 14 of the curved bottom portion 5.
[0196] In the illustrated example, the curved bottom portion 5 and the neck portion 16 constitute a unitary body. In some examples, the curved bottom portion 5 and the neck portion 16 may be formed separately and joined together, which may or may not constitute a unitary body.
[0197] It should also be understood that, regardless of whether the base 3 includes a neck portion 16, the upper platform 2 is attached to the base 3, for example, via the rim portion 15, so as to protrude outwardly from the curved bottom portion 5. In other words, in all examples, i.e., with or without a neck portion and with or without a rim portion, the upper platform 2 protrudes outwardly from both the base 3 and the curved bottom portion 5, allowing a user to position a body part on the upper platform while the rest of the user's body can protrude beyond the edge of the upper platform. In further other words, in all examples, i.e., with or without a neck portion and with or without a rim portion, the upper platform 2 protrudes outwardly from both the base 3 and the curved bottom portion 5, i.e., at least a portion of the upper platform for supporting a body part of the user is positioned outside the curvature of the curved bottom portion 5.
[0198] In an exemplary embodiment, the base 3 is made of an elastic or stretchable material (such as rubber) and is configured with suitable openings and valves so that the base 3 can be inflated to a storage size and inflated to a use arrangement (as shown). The base 3 can be manufactured by slush molding and can be 360° symmetrical around a central axis, thereby providing an easy and inexpensive manufacturing method. However, the base 3 can be made of other suitable materials and by other suitable processes. The rim portion 15 and / or the neck portion 16 can be rigid relative to the curved bottom surface 4.
[0199] The curved bottom portion 5 includes a first internal volume 17 and a second internal volume 21 separated from the first internal volume 17 by a partition wall 18. The second internal volume 21 constitutes a weight receiving portion 21 and is accessible from the outside of the curved bottom portion for introducing a weight filling into the second internal volume and optionally for removing the weight filling from the second internal volume. In some examples, the weight receiving portion may be configured to not allow the weight filling to be removed therefrom. At least a majority of the second internal volume 21 is positioned closer to the vertex 13 of the curved bottom surface 4 relative to the distance from the upper platform 2. In other words, when filled into the weight receiving portion 21, the center of mass of the weight filling is located closer to the vertex 13 relative to the distance from the upper platform 2 and on the central axis 11. The second internal volume 21 is a closed volume that is fixed relative to the curved bottom portion 5. For example, the closed second internal volume 21 remains in place even when the device 1 is tilted from a vertical orientation.
[0200] The second interior volume 21 is accessible via a weight fill port 22 that communicates with the exterior of the second interior volume 21 and the curved bottom portion 5 for introducing and optionally removing a weight filler. The weight filler can be any fluid or a powdered solid, such as sand. When filled with a weight equal to or greater than the total weight in the rest of the device 1 (i.e., the combined weight of the upper platform 2 and the weight within the first interior volume 17), the weight receiving portion 21 biases the device toward its vertical orientation when the device 1 is tilted from its vertical orientation.
[0201] In some examples, the device 1 may be configured to self-bias to its vertical orientation, i.e., without weight filling. For example, a portion of the curved bottom surface 4 near the apex 13 may be heavier than the rest of the curved bottom surface 4 to self-bias the device 1 toward its vertical orientation.
[0202] The above-mentioned biasing (self-biasing or with the help of the weight filling) prevents the device from accidentally rolling on the ground, provides a stable initial position for exercise, and provides resistance to the user's rolling when performing exercise, thereby increasing the difficulty level of the exercise to make the exercise more effective. Based on user preferences, the difficulty level of the exercise can be manipulated by introducing the weight filling according to the required weight. The second internal volume 21 is configured for repeatedly introducing and removing the weight filling therein, and optionally has different weight fillings or the same weight fillings with different volumes to adjust the weight within the weight accommodating portion 21. In some examples, the weight accommodating portion may be configured to not allow the weight filling to be removed therefrom.
[0203] In some examples, the second interior volume can be bounded on all sides by rigid walls. In some examples, the second interior volume can be at least partially bounded by flexible walls that are inflated by a weighted filler, thereby rendering the base at least partially inflatable. For example, introducing a weighted filler can inflate the weight-receiving portion, thereby at least partially inflating the base.
[0204] The weight receiving portion 21 can be configured in various shapes and sizes to accommodate different forms of weight filling. In the illustrated embodiment, the weight receiving portion 21 has a gradually increasing diameter extending from the apex 13 toward the center of the base 3, which provides better weight distribution, such as toward the apex 13. In some examples, the weight receiving portion can have a curved shape to form part of the curved bottom portion (e.g., Figures 5A to 5F shown).
[0205] In some examples, the first interior volume 17 is accessible from the exterior of the curved bottom portion 5 for introducing an inflation material therein through an inflation port 19 that communicates with the first interior volume 17 and the exterior of the curved bottom portion 5. In the illustrated example, the inflation port is formed in the upper surface 6 of the base 3 and is accessible via a through-hole 2A formed in the upper platform 2. In some examples, the inflation port 19 can be formed at any other location on the base 3. The inflation material can be any fluid, including air or a liquid, or can be any powdered solid.
[0206] In some examples, the first internal volume can be bounded on all sides by rigid walls. In some examples, the first internal volume can be at least partially bounded by flexible walls that are inflated by an inflatable filler, thereby rendering the base at least partially inflatable. For example, introducing an inflatable filler can inflate the walls of the first internal volume, thereby at least partially inflating the base. In some examples, the first internal volume can be evacuated via an inflation port and can be repeatedly filled and evacuated with the same or different inflatable filler, or with different volumes of inflatable filler, during each repetition.
[0207] In some examples, the first internal volume may be filled only once, thereby inflating the base 3 and thereafter not being deflated. Thus, for the purposes of this specification, the term "inflatable" should be understood to include within its meaning inflation during manufacture and sale in an inflated state. Thus, for the purposes of this specification, the phrase "at least selectively includes a curved bottom portion" should be understood to include at least temporarily (i.e., while the base is selectively inflatable and deflated) a curved bottom portion. In other words, the phrase "at least selectively includes a curved bottom portion" should be understood to include either temporarily (i.e., while the base is selectively inflatable and deflated) or permanently (i.e., when the base is inflated during manufacture and sold as is rather than deflated). In examples where the base temporarily includes a curved bottom portion, it should be understood that the base selectively includes the curved bottom portion (i.e., only when inflated) and does not include the curved bottom portion when deflated (e.g., for storage or transport).
[0208] In some examples, the device may further include one or more attachment elements for removably attaching an exercise aid including one or more of a strap, a band, a cord, and a belt to the device. In some examples, the attachment elements may be located at the base and / or the upper platform. Figures 5A to 5F The examples of the illustrated multi-purpose physical exercise device illustrate and describe one or more attachment elements in detail.
[0209] refer to Figure 3 and Figure 4 , shows an exemplary embodiment of a multi-purpose physical exercise device 31, comprising: an upper platform 32; and a base 33 formed from a unitary body including the upper platform 32. The base 33 comprises a truncated spherical outer surface that constitutes at least half of a sphere forming a curved bottom surface 34. The device 31 has a central axis 41 that is perpendicular to the upper platform 32 and extends vertically in a vertical orientation. The base 33 is configured such that the central axis 41 is tiltable so that the curved bottom surface 34 maintains a point of contact with the ground while the device (i.e., the central axis 41) is rotated in any direction about the vertical orientation through an angle of at least 90° relative to the vertical orientation.
[0210] In some exemplary embodiments, the curved bottom surface 34 has a cross-section that is at least half the size of a circle. Preferably, the curved bottom surface 34 is spherical and forms at least half of a sphere, ideally about half of a sphere. The shape of the base 33 is configured to be rotatable so that the curved bottom surface 34 maintains a point of contact with the ground while the central axis 41 is rotated up to at least 90° (0.0013°) in any direction relative to the vertical orientation. Figure 4 ). In some embodiments, the upper platform 32 is rigid, but in alternative embodiments, the upper platform 32 comprises a flexible material.
[0211] In some embodiments, the distance between the upper surface of the upper platform 32 and the apex 43 of the curved bottom surface 34 is configured to enable a user lying on the ground to place their lower legs on the upper platform 32 while keeping their hips and knees above approximately 90° from the ground, i.e., at least 40 cm, preferably between 40 cm and 45 cm, and more preferably approximately 43 cm.
[0212] In some embodiments, the distance between the upper surface 42 of the upper platform 32 and the apex 43 of the curved bottom surface 34 can be configured to enable a user to rest their forearms on the upper platform 32 when performing a plank exercise, i.e., at least 40 cm from the ground, preferably between 40 cm and 45 cm, and more preferably about 43 cm.
[0213] exist Figure 3 and Figure 4 In the illustrated exemplary embodiment, the diameter of upper platform 32 is smaller than the diameter of the uppermost and outermost portion 44 of curved bottom surface 34. The unitary body of base 33 includes a tapered (e.g., narrowing) neck portion 46 extending between curved bottom surface 34 and upper platform 32.
[0214] In an exemplary embodiment, the base 33 is made of an elastic or stretchable material (such as rubber) and is configured with suitable openings and valves so that the base 33 can be expanded to a storage size and inflated to a use configuration (as shown). The base 33 can be manufactured by slush molding and can be 360° symmetrical about a central axis. However, the base 33 can be made of other suitable materials and by other suitable processes. The neck portion 16 can be rigid relative to the curved bottom surface 34.
[0215] In some embodiments, the base 33 self-biases into a vertical position in which the platform 32 is generally parallel to the ground and the central axis 41 is perpendicular to the ground. To provide self-biasing, in some embodiments, the base 33 includes a counterweight receiving portion 41. The counterweight receiving portion 41 can be adjacent to the vertex 13 of the curved bottom surface 34. The counterweight receiving portion 41 can be configured in a variety of shapes and sizes to accommodate different types of counterweights. In some embodiments, the counterweight receiving portion 41 is configured to accommodate water, for example, with an opening, a valve, and / or a plug. In some embodiments, the counterweight receiving portion 41 is configured to accommodate sand, for example, with an opening, a valve, and / or a plug.
[0216] A center piece 51 or base extends upward from the upper platform 32, preferably from its center along the central axis 41. The center piece 51 provides a handle for carrying and enables the user's legs to be locked to the device 31 during exercise. The center piece 51 can be removably attached to the platform 32 via connectors on both the center piece 51 and the platform 32 (e.g., threads or snap-fit connectors). The center piece 51 can include a cylindrical rod 52 and extend 6 inches to 12 inches, but other shapes and sizes are within the scope of the present invention. The center piece 51 can also include a flat piece 53 connected to the outer end of the rod 52. In the illustrated embodiment, the flat piece 53 is round with a diameter of 6 inches to 12 inches, but other shapes and sizes are within the scope of the present invention.
[0217] refer to Figures 5A to 5F , describes an exemplary embodiment of a multi-purpose physical exercise device 101 (interchangeably referred to herein as device 101). It should be understood herein that, in various examples, device 101 may include the aforementioned Figure 1 and Figure 2 The multi-purpose sports exercise device 1 described and / or the above reference Figure 3 and Figure 4 The multi-purpose physical exercise device 31 may be a device 101 that includes an upper platform 102 and a base 103. The base 103 may be a device 101 that includes an upper platform 102 and a base 103. Figures 5A to 5F 104 is illustrated as being inflated to include a curved bottom portion 105 having a curved bottom surface 104 configured to roll on a ground surface G, as shown in FIG. Figure 5D 、 Figure 5E and Figure 5F As illustrated, the apparatus 101 assists the user in performing exercises in a manner similar to that described above with respect to the apparatus 1. For example, the user can position a body part (e.g., legs, arms, back, torso, buttocks, etc.) on the upper platform 102 and roll the apparatus 101 on the ground surface G to perform the exercise. In other examples, the apparatus 101 can be used to perform one or more exercises that do not require rolling the apparatus 101. In some examples, the apparatus 101 can be inverted (relative to the Figure 5D The upper platform can be positioned on the ground and the base, when inflated, can be used to support a body part of the user while the user is exercising using the device 101.
[0218] In examples where the base 103 is placed on the floor and the upper platform is used to support a body part of a user, one or more support members may be removably attached to the upper surface 112 of the upper platform 102 for supporting different body parts of the user corresponding to exercises performed using the apparatus 101, as described below with reference to Figures 6A to 6E described in further detail.
[0219] The curved bottom portion 105 includes a curved bottom surface 104 configured to roll on the ground surface G while maintaining a point of contact with the ground surface G during rolling. The device 101 has a central axis 111 passing through a center of curvature 104A of the curved bottom surface 104 and an apex 113 of the curved bottom surface 104. The curved bottom surface 104 is configured to be in a vertical position ( Figure 5D ) and the tilt position of the device 101 ( Figure 5E and Figure 5F ) rolls on the ground G, in the vertical position, the central axis 111 is perpendicular to the ground G, and in the inclined position, the central axis 111 forms an inclined angle A with the ground G. It should be understood in this article that Figure 5D The position shown is the same as Figure 5E or Figure 5F Any position between the positions shown should also be considered an inclined position.
[0220] In such Figure 5D In the vertical position shown, the upper surface 112 of the upper platform 102 is parallel to the ground G, and the angle A between the central axis 111 and the ground G is 90°. Figure 5E In the tilted position shown, the angle A between the central axis 111 and the ground G is 0°, that is, the central axis 111 extends parallel to the ground G. The angle A between the central axis 111 and the ground G is 90°, and can be any angle between 0° and 90°. Figure 5E In the case of rolling on the ground G in the opposite direction shown, the angle A between the central axis 111 and the ground G is 90°, which can be greater than 90°. It should be understood that the angle A greater than 90° should be considered as relative to the ground. Figure 5E The part that measures angle A. Figure 5F As shown, the curved bottom surface 104 can be Figure 5E The rolling shown is further, for example, by means of the ground G and the Figure 5E The space S between the upper platforms 102 is shown in an inclined position, as described in detail below.
[0221] In the illustrated example, the base 103 includes a neck portion 116 having a lower neck edge 116A connected to the uppermost edge 114 of the curved bottom portion 105 and an opposing upper neck edge 116B. The neck portion 116 converges in a direction extending upward from the curved bottom portion 105 toward the upper platform 102. In other words, the lower neck diameter D1 at the lower neck edge 116A is smaller than the upper neck diameter D2 at the upper neck edge 116B. The lower neck diameter D1 is equal to the diameter D3 of the uppermost edge 114 of the curved bottom portion 105.
[0222] The base 103 includes a rim portion 115 that, in the illustrated example, is secured to the neck portion 116 at an upper neck edge 116B and is more rigid than the neck portion 116 to facilitate securing the upper platform 102 to the base 103, for example, at the upper neck edge 116B. The rim portion 115 is sufficiently rigid to secure the upper platform 102 thereto and circumferentially support the upper platform 102.
[0223] It should be understood herein that in some examples, the base 103 may not include the neck portion 116, and the rim portion 115 may be secured at the uppermost edge 114. It should also be understood that, regardless of whether the base 103 includes the neck portion 116, the upper platform 102 is attached to the base 103, for example, via the rim portion 115, so as to protrude outwardly from the curved bottom portion 105. In other words, in all examples, i.e., with or without the neck portion and with or without the rim portion, the upper platform 102 protrudes outwardly from both the base 103 and the curved bottom portion 105, such that a user can position a body part on the upper platform while the rest of the user's body can protrude beyond the edge of the upper platform. In other words, in all examples, i.e., with or without a neck portion and with or without a rim portion, the upper platform 102 protrudes outwardly from both the base 103 and the curved bottom portion 105, i.e., at least a portion of the upper platform for supporting the user's body part is positioned outside the curvature of the curved bottom portion 105.
[0224] In the illustrated example, the upper platform 102 is attached at a rim portion 115 secured to the neck upper edge 116B and has a platform diameter D4 that is smaller than the neck lower diameter D1 and the diameter D3 of the uppermost edge 114 of the curved bottom portion 105 .
[0225] The platform diameter D4 is smaller than the diameter D3 of the uppermost edge 114 of the curved bottom portion 106 to allow Figure 5E The space S between the ground G and the upper platform 102 in the tilted position shown allows the device 101 to be moved from Figure 5E The position where the central axis is shown parallel to the ground is further tilted. This increases the degree of tilt of the device 101, wherein the upper platform 102 is at a specific height from the ground G, which in the illustrated example is 40 cm to 45 cm in the vertical orientation of the device 101. In other words, in order to increase the degree of tilt of the device 101, it is not necessary to increase the height of the upper platform 102 in the vertical orientation from the ground G. In further other words, compared to the degree of tilt that can be achieved when the platform diameter D4 is greater than or equal to the diameter D3 of the uppermost edge 114 of the upper curved portion 106, a wider degree of tilt can be achieved with the upper platform 102 at a certain height. In addition, as Figures 5A to 5FAs shown, the curved bottom portion 105 is spherical and constitutes more than half of a sphere, thereby allowing the aforementioned degree of inclination. The increased degree of inclination of the device 101 makes the device 101 more effective for performing exercises.
[0226] Curved bottom portion 105 includes a first interior volume 117 and a second interior volume 121 separated from first interior volume 117 by a partition wall 118. Second interior volume 121 constitutes a weight receptacle 121 and is accessible from the exterior of the curved bottom portion for introducing a weight filling therein and, optionally, for removing the weight filling therefrom. In some examples, the weight receptacle may be configured to prevent removal of the weight filling therefrom. At least a majority of second interior volume 121 is positioned closer to apex 113 of curved bottom surface 104 relative to upper platform 102. In other words, when filled into weight receptacle 121, the center of mass of the weight filling is located closer to apex 113 relative to upper platform 102 and on central axis 111. Second interior volume 121 is a closed volume that is fixed relative to curved bottom portion 105. For example, even when device 101 is tilted from a vertical orientation, closed second interior volume 121 remains in place.
[0227] The weight receiving portion 121 is similar to the above reference Figure 1 and Figure 2 The ballast receiving portion 21 described with reference to the illustrated apparatus 1 functions in a similar manner, and all descriptions thereof provided above apply mutatis mutandis to the ballast receiving portion 121. For example, the second internal volume 121 is accessible via a ballast fill port 122 that communicates with the exterior of the second internal volume 121 and the curved bottom portion 105 for the introduction and, optionally, removal of a ballast fill. The ballast fill can be any fluid or powdered solid, such as sand. When filled with a weight equal to or greater than the total weight in the remainder of the apparatus 101 (i.e., the combined weight of the upper platform 102 and the weight within the first internal volume 117), the ballast receiving portion 121 biases the apparatus 101 toward its vertical orientation when the apparatus 101 is tilted from that orientation.
[0228] In some examples, the device 101 can be configured to self-bias to its vertical orientation, i.e., without weight filling. For example, a portion of the curved bottom surface 104 near the apex 113 can be heavier than the rest of the curved bottom surface 104 to self-bias the device 101 toward its vertical orientation.
[0229] The above-mentioned biasing (self-biasing or with the help of the weight filling) prevents the device from accidentally rolling on the ground, provides a stable initial position for exercise, and provides resistance to the user's rolling when performing exercise, thereby increasing the difficulty level of the exercise to make the exercise more effective. Based on user preferences, the difficulty level of the exercise can be manipulated by introducing the weight filling according to the required weight. The second internal volume 121 is configured for repeatedly introducing and removing the weight filling therein, and optionally has different weight fillings or the same weight fillings with different volumes to adjust the weight within the weight accommodating portion 121. In some examples, the weight accommodating portion may be configured to not allow the weight filling to be removed therefrom.
[0230] In the illustrated example, the second interior volume 121 has been shown as being bounded by a flexible wall 123 at a lower region (near the apex 113) that is inflated by the weight filler, thereby rendering the base 103 at least partially inflatable. For example, introduction of the weight filler inflates the weight receiving portion 121, thereby at least partially inflating the base 103.
[0231] In the illustrated example, the first interior volume 117 is accessible from the exterior of the curved bottom portion 105 for introduction of an inflation material therein through an inflation port 119 that communicates with the first interior volume 117 and the exterior of the curved bottom portion 105. In the illustrated example, the inflation port 119 is formed in the upper surface 106 of the base 103 and is accessible via a through-hole 102A formed in the upper platform 102. In some examples, the inflation port 119 may be formed at any other location on the base 103. The inflation material may be any fluid, including air or a liquid, or may be any powdered solid.
[0232] In the illustrated example, the first interior volume 117 is bounded by flexible walls 120 that are inflated with an inflatable filler, thereby rendering the base at least partially inflatable. For example, introducing the inflatable filler inflates the walls 120 of the first interior volume 117, thereby at least partially inflating the base 103. In some examples, the first interior volume 117 can be evacuated via the inflation port 119 and can be repeatedly filled and evacuated with the same or different inflatable filler, or with different volumes of inflatable filler, during each repetition.
[0233] It should be understood herein that in order to stabilize and / or bias the device 101 toward its vertical orientation, the weighted filler and the inflation filler should be selected such that the total weight in the weight-receiving portion 121 is equal to or greater than the combined weight of the inflation filler and the upper platform 102. In other words, the weighted filler and the inflation filler should be selected such that the center of mass of the device 101 is located closer to the apex 113 relative to the upper platform 102 and on the central axis 111.
[0234] In the illustrated example, walls 120 of first interior volume 117 and 123 of second interior volume 121 have been shown as separate and positioned together to form curved bottom surface 104. In some examples, walls 120 of first interior volume 117 and 123 of second interior volume 121 may be integrally formed.
[0235] In the illustrated example, both first interior volume 117 and second interior volume 121 are inflatable, thereby making base 103 inflatable. In some examples, at least one of first interior volume 117 and second interior volume 121 may not be inflatable. In the illustrated example, base 103 includes curved bottom portion 105 (e.g., curved) only when both first interior volume 117 and second interior volume 121 are inflated, thereby forming curved bottom portion 105, and their respective outer surfaces forming a continuous curved bottom surface 104.
[0236] In some examples, the first internal volume may be filled only once, thereby inflating the base 103 and thereafter not being deflated. Thus, for the purposes of this specification, the term "inflatable" should be understood to include within its meaning inflation during manufacturing and being sold in an inflated state. Thus, for the purposes of this specification, the phrase "at least selectively includes a curved bottom portion" should be understood to include at least temporarily (i.e., while the base is selectively inflatable and deflated) a curved bottom portion. In other words, the phrase "at least selectively includes a curved bottom portion" should be understood to include either temporarily (i.e., while the base is selectively inflatable and deflated) or permanently (i.e., when the base is inflated during manufacturing and sold as is rather than deflated). In examples where the base temporarily includes a curved bottom portion, it should be understood that the base selectively includes the curved bottom portion (i.e., only when inflated) and does not include the curved bottom portion when deflated (e.g., for storage or shipping).
[0237] Device 101 also includes an attachment element 130 for removably attaching an exercise assistive device, including one or more of a strap, a belt, a cord, and a belt, to the device. In the illustrated example, attachment element 130 includes a hook-receiving element for receiving a corresponding hook attached to the end of the exercise assistive device. In some examples, attachment element 130 may include any suitable structure for removably attaching the exercise assistive device thereto. In some examples, the exercise assistive device may be one or more of a strap, a belt, a cord, a belt, etc., to be connected at attachment element 130, and the user may hold the exercise assistive device during exercise. In the illustrated example, the attachment element is positioned at upper platform 102. In some examples, the attachment element may be positioned at base 103.
