The invention discloses a communication method and system, and relates to the technical field of electronic equipment. Connection is established between processing equipment and target equipment through a cascade link, the cascade link is formed by cascading one or more node equipment in a conference room, the node equipment comprises at least one of conference room audio equipment, conference room video equipment or conference room control equipment, and the method comprises the following steps: the processing equipment responds to a screen projection operation, generating screen projection data; the processing device sends the screen projection data to any node device in the cascade link; transmitting the screen projection data to target equipment connected with the cascade link through each node equipment; the target device receives and analyzes the screen projection data to display the corresponding screen projection picture without additionally configuring a screen projection transmitter, so that the deployment of a screen projection system is simplified, the cost is reduced, rapid screen projection of the processing device at any position of a conference room is realized, the stability of screen projection data transmission is guaranteed, and the user experience is improved.
