Use of gossypol acetic acid and its derivatives as activators of kcnq5 potassium channels
Gossypol acetate and its derivatives, as KCNQ5 potassium channel activators, have solved the problem of insufficient selectivity of existing activators by enhancing the relationship curve between channel current and shift voltage, thus achieving effective treatment for diseases with KCNQ5 dysfunction.

Abstract
The present application relates to the technical field of medical use, and particularly relates to a new use of gossypol acetic acid in regulating KCNQ5 potassium ion channel, especially to its application as a KCNQ5 potassium ion channel activator and in preparing related drugs. Through whole cell patch clamp experiment, it is found that gossypol acetic acid can significantly enhance KCNQ5 channel-mediated outward potassium current, slow the channel deactivation process, and make the conductance-voltage relationship curve move to the negative potential direction, which indicates that it can reduce the voltage threshold required for channel activation, enhance the KCNQ5 channel opening tendency and the stability of the open state. The present application provides an experimental basis for gossypol acetic acid as a KCNQ5 potassium ion channel activator, and provides a new candidate scheme for developing a drug for preventing and / or treating KCNQ5 function abnormality related diseases.
