Provided is a production method for chlorotrifluoroethylene, which includes: (A3) a process A3 of decarboxylating 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoro-2-chloropropionic acid in an anhydrous state in the presence of a base to obtain the above-described chlorotrifluoroethylene; or (B3) a process B3 of chlorinating trifluoroethylene to obtain the above-described chlorotrifluoroethylene.
