A self-powered photovoltaic signal detector for the communication using visible light among vehicles and the infrastructure

Abstract

Photovoltaic signal detector for visible light communication between vehicles and infrastructure, with its own power supply, is intended for the creation of so-called smart transport infrastructure. The device is independent of the power supply of the existing infrastructure, thanks to the photovoltaic panel (3). In this case, the photovoltaic panel (3) also serves as a photodetector for receiving a light signal (8) and, thanks to its surface, enables light communication, even if it is partially contaminated, for example, with snow or dust.
