Description

[0001] The invention relates to a device for the stretcher transport of breathing apparatus wearers as a draggable holder for the body of the person to be rescued.

[0002] Such devices are known, for example, as so-called rescue basket stretchers or folding rescue stretchers. A rescue basket stretcher of this type is known, for example, from DE 7533391. The rescue device described therein for picking up and lowering persons from dangerous situations comprises a tub suitable for accommodating a person in a lying position. The tub is equipped with a raised, fully circumferential edge and is dimensioned so that the person to be rescued can be completely accommodated in the tub. With the aid of a rotating gallows or similar devices, the rescue tub can be raised and pivoted. This is also designed to be draggable, with at least two runners provided on the bottom of the tub parallel to the longitudinal direction. Further examples of various rescue stretchers can be found in DE 17 17 831, DE 71 189 34, and DE 31 33 655.

[0003] The dimensions of such basket stretchers are such that small rooms, stairwells, narrow hallways, and the like regularly present obstacles. The length of the basket stretcher, in particular, has proven to be a hindrance in this case. Furthermore, due to the dimensions and weight, the strain when pulling the basket stretcher is particularly high, making such basket stretchers unsuitable for rescuing firefighters involved in an accident. Accidents involving these rescuers cannot be ruled out during fire or hazardous materials operations involving breathing apparatus wearers. Current transport aids, in particular the familiar basket stretchers of standard design, are unsuitable for rescuing a firefighter wearing breathing apparatus who has sustained an accident during an operation.

[0004] In addition to the relatively high weight and large dimensions of the well-known rescue basket collars, there is the weight of the person to be rescued, including personal protective equipment and breathing apparatus, so that a rescue using such aids represents a maximum physical strain for the safety team.

[0005] German utility model 20314008 discloses a folding stretcher for rescuing injured breathing apparatus wearers. The device is constructed in two parts, comprising an upper and lower part connected by a pivoting hinge. The upper part of the device accommodates the upper body of the person to be rescued, while the lower part accommodates the lower body of the breathing apparatus wearer to be rescued. The upper part of the device is tub-shaped, whereas the lower part consists of a tubular frame and a predominantly flat surface.

[0006] This known device is improved with regard to grindability in particular by the articulated arrangement of the lower part of the device, in particular by the fact that the upper part of the device and the lower part of the device can be freely changed in angle to one another.

[0007] In addition, the device known from 20314008 has the advantage that it requires relatively little storage space due to the foldability of the lower and upper parts of the device.

[0008] However, with regard to the physical strength required to handle the folding stretcher, it offers little advantage over a conventional basket stretcher.

[0009] As an alternative to a rescue basket, the use of a cloth is known from US Pat. No. 4,442,557. However, this does not provide sufficient protection for the injured person. Other rescue devices are known from GB 2 430 381 and US Pat. No. 3,449,776. However, these do not serve the purpose of the invention. Further rescue devices are known from EP 1 726 332 A1, EP 1 716 832 B1, and DE 20 2007 014 073 U1.

[0010] The invention is therefore based on the object of significantly improving a device for the lying transport of respiratory protection device wearers of the type mentioned at the beginning with regard to handling.

[0011] The object is achieved by a device for the lying transport of breathing apparatus wearers in a supine position, as a trough-shaped, sandable holder for the body of the person to be rescued, wherein the device is characterized in that the holder is designed as a half-trough which forms a head area leading in the sanding direction and a trailing thigh support, wherein at least in the head area a circumferential protective railing or protective wall is provided and the thigh support is open at the edge.

[0012] According to the invention, the person to be rescued is not supported over their entire body length, so that only the upper body up to the thighs is protected in the tub from external influences.

[0013] In this way, the device according to the invention is relatively short, so that it can be pulled over stairs, stairwells and narrow corridors in smaller rooms.

[0014] In a preferred variant of the device according to the invention, the half-tub is designed as an insert for a rescue basket stretcher, allowing it to be used as a particularly space-saving trough in a trough system. Installed in a conventional rescue basket stretcher, the device can be transported using known lifting devices or a turntable ladder.

[0015] The half-tub, which serves as an upper body support, offers sufficient protection against damage to the cylinder valve of the breathing apparatus, particularly during rescue, and thus protection against loss of vital breathing air.

[0016] In a practical embodiment of the device according to the invention, the half-shell is provided with means for securing a person to be rescued. For this purpose, the known restraint straps with standardized locking systems are used.

[0017] To make it easier to pull the half-tub, especially on uneven ground and over obstacles, the bottom of the half-tub can be bow-shaped or bevelled in the head area in the grinding direction.

[0018] Additionally, the half-tub can be mounted on rollers. As an alternative to the rollers, which can be made of PTFE, for example, contact strips or skids can be mounted on the underside of the half-tub. PTFE contact strips are particularly effective in terms of gliding over obstacles. These offer minimal frictional resistance.

[0019] The head area of the half-tub can also have a smaller width than the upper body support area, which also makes it easier to grind the half-tub around obstacles, at building corners and on stairs.

[0020] The invention is further characterized by at least one roller block with at least one roller, which extends approximately over a substantial part of the width of the floor of the half-tub. The roller block can, for example, extend in the region of the thigh support over a substantial part of the width of the floor of the half-tub transversely to the intended grinding direction, so that the half-tub can be lifted in the head area and pulled across the floor with relatively little effort. One or more rollers can be mounted on a common axle in the roller block. In addition, the roller block forms a front-side and running-surface-side covering for at least one roller, wherein the roller protrudes through a roller gap in the roller block.

[0021] Of course, roller blocks with casters can be provided in both the head and thigh support areas of the half-tub. The casters are preferably wide enough to easily negotiate uneven surfaces, such as gratings.

[0022] The rollers can, for example, be ball-bearing.

[0023] If one or more roller supports extend across essentially the entire width of the half-hull's floor, this minimizes point loads on the half-hull. This makes it possible to manufacture the half-hull from relatively thin aluminum sheets, which ultimately results in a significant weight reduction.

[0024] In addition to the rollers provided on the bottom, the half-tub can be mounted on rollers arranged on the edge.

[0025] These rollers can be covered or only partially covered to ensure that the half-tub does not get caught on building corners or obstacles during grinding operations.

[0026] The tray is preferably made of folded aluminum sheet with a round profile at least partially surrounding it.

[0027] The protective wall is preferably provided with holding openings or openings for holding or attaching strap slings for pulling the half-shell.

[0028] In an advantageous and expedient variant of the device according to the invention, it is provided that the half-tub is designed to be variable in length.

[0029] For example, the half-shell can comprise at least one extendable extension profile and a base profile, wherein the extension profile can be adapted cross-sectionally to the base profile such that the extension profile is slidably mounted within the base profile. The extension profile, designed as a sliding piece, can, for example, be lockable in various extended positions in order to adapt the half-shell to different upper body sizes / lengths of the person to be rescued.

[0030] For this purpose, for example, the extension profile can have at least one elongated hole extending in the extension direction, through which at least one guide web or a pin or one or more pins of the base profile pass, for example in such a way that the guide web is guided in the elongated hole.

[0031] In a preferred variant of the device according to the invention, the extension profile can be provided with several parallel elongated holes extending in the longitudinal or extension direction. Guide webs on the base profile can each pass through or penetrate the elongated holes.

[0032] For example, additional guide profiles can be provided on the base profile of the half-tub to accommodate and guide the extension profile. These guide profiles can, for example, be provided in the form of guide strips extending in the longitudinal direction of the base profile along the surrounding walls of the half-tub.

[0033] In addition, clamping or locking pins can be provided to fix the extension profile in different extension positions.

[0034] For example, locking pins can be provided that penetrate the tub edge of the base profile and one side wall of the extension profile on both sides. These locking pins can, for example, be guided in a slotted hole in the tub edge and can be secured there in locking pockets / grooves.

[0035] The invention further relates to a rescue basket for the lying transport of persons to be rescued, having a tub designed to completely accommodate a person in a lying position, wherein the rescue basket is characterized by a removable insert designed as a half-tub with a head area at least partially enclosed at the edge and a thigh support open at the edge.

[0036] The insert can be designed as a fully functional unit that can be removed from the rescue basket if necessary. For handling the half-tub via a lifting device, such as a lifting boom, or for rescue using a turntable ladder, the half-tub can be reintegrated into the rescue basket and secured there, for example, with suitable fasteners.

[0037] The invention is explained below using an embodiment shown in the drawings.

[0038] They show: Fig. 1 an exploded view of an arrangement according to the invention comprising a rescue basket stretcher and an insert designed as a half-tub for the rescue basket stretcher, Fig. 2 a plan view of the half-tub according to the invention, Fig. 3 a side view of the Fig. 2 shown half-tub, Fig. 4 a longitudinal section along lines IV-IV in Fig. 2, Fig. 5 a view along the arrow V in Fig. 2, Fig. 6 a view along the arrow VII in Fig. 2, Fig. 7 a sectional view along the line VII-VII in Fig. 2, Fig. 8 a part of a side view of the half-hull from the direction of arrow VIII in Fig. 2, Fig. 9 one of the Fig. 8 corresponding view with rollers, Fig. 10 a sectional view along the line XX in Fig. 9, Fig. 11 a schematic representation of a roller attached to the side of the half-hull in side view, Fig. 12 a partial section through the half-tub in the area of a laterally arranged roller, Fig. 13 a sectional view along the lines XIII-XIII in Fig. 12, Fig. 14 an alternative arrangement of the Fig. 11 to 13 shown roller, Fig. 15 is a side view of a second embodiment of the half-tub according to the invention, Fig. 16 one of the Fig. 15 corresponding view with extended extension profile, Fig. 17 a plan view of the half-tub according to Fig. 15 and Fig. 16, Fig. 18 a section along the lines XVIII - XVIII in Fig. 15, Fig. 19 an enlarged detail section corresponding to view XIX in Fig. 18, Fig. 20 a partial view in the direction of arrows XX - XX in Fig. 19, Fig. 21 one of the Fig. 19 corresponding view with locked extension profile and Fig. 22 a view along the arrow XXII in Fig. 21.

[0039] First, reference is made to the Fig. 1. The arrangement of the invention comprises a rescue basket stretcher designed as a tub 1 with a fully circumferential, raised tub rim 2 for fully lying support of a person 7 to be rescued, wherein the tub 1 is of conventional design. The arrangement further comprises a half-tub, designated 3, as an insert for the tub 1. The tub rim 2 is provided with several spaced-apart holding openings 4 through which straps, looped belts, and the like can be passed.

[0040] The tray 1 can be made of folded aluminum sheet with a surrounding round profile 5.

[0041] The half-tub 3 is designed in the same way, having a partially circumferential rim 2 with a partially circumferential round profile 5. The half-tub 3 is dimensioned such that it fits into the receiving space formed by the tub 1 and can be fully inserted therein. The rim 2 of the half-tub is open or drawn down at the edge in the area of a thigh support 6, but is otherwise designed as a protective wall or protective railing all the way around. Like the rim 2 of the tub 1, this wall is provided with retaining openings 4.

[0042] Identical parts on both the tub 1 and the half-tub 3 are provided with the same reference numerals. The half-tub 3 comprises the aforementioned thigh support 6, which lags in the grinding direction or pulling direction, as well as the head region 8, which leads in the grinding direction or pulling direction. In the head region 8, the half-tub 3 tapers to a point, i.e. its width decreases. In addition, the head region 8 of the half-tub is provided with a bow-shaped bevel 9, which is raised relative to the floor 10 in the pulling direction or grinding direction. Fixing straps 11 are attached to the half-tub 3 through the lateral holding openings 4 provided in the tub rim 2. A webbing sling 12 is attached to the half-tub 3 through one of two holding openings 4 provided in the head region 8 of the tub rim 2, which enables the half-tub 3 to be pulled and / or lifted in this area.

[0043] In the case of a Fig. 7 and Fig. In the variant of the half-tub 3 shown in Figure 8, two contact strips 13 made of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) are arranged on its bottom 10. The contact strips 13 extend at a distance from one another in the longitudinal direction of the half-tub 3.

[0044] In the case of a Fig. 9 and Fig. In the variant of the half-tub shown in Figure 10, a roller block 14 extending over a substantial portion of the width of the half-tub 3 and having two rollers 15 mounted therein is arranged on the bottom 10 thereof, on the side facing away from the person 7 to be rescued. The rollers are mounted in the roller block 14 via a common axle 16. The axle 16 extends approximately transversely to the intended grinding or pulling direction of the half-tub 3.

[0045] As can be seen from the illustration, the rollers are relatively wide, so that they can easily drive over obstacles such as gaps or grates.

[0046] In the illustrated embodiment, only one roller block 14 is provided in the area of the thigh support 6 of the half-tub 3, so that easy pulling of the half-tub 3 without significant resistance is only possible if the half-tub 3 is raised in the head area 8. Of course, a combination of contact strips 13 and rollers 15 is also conceivable.

[0047] The roller block 14 comprises an almost complete covering of the rollers 15, both on the front side and on the running surface. The rollers 15 protrude from the roller block 14 through a roller gap 17 formed by the roller block 14.

[0048] The Fig. 11 to 13 show two further variants of the half-tub 3 with additional, optionally laterally arranged rollers 18. These rollers 18 can be provided as an alternative to a roller arrangement arranged on the bottom 10 of the half-tub 3 or in addition thereto. At least one, preferably two rollers 18 can be provided on each rim 2 of the half-tub. In the case of the Fig. 11 to 13, the bearing axis 19 of the rollers extends parallel to the bottom 10 of the half-trough 3, in the case of Fig. In the variant shown in Figure 14, the bearing axis 19 of the roller 18 extends at an angle to the bottom 10 of the half-trough 3. In the latter variant, it is useful if the running surface of the rollers 18 is conical, ie bevelled.

[0049] As seen from the top view in Fig. 13, a protective plate 20 is expediently provided in front of the rollers 18 on the side leading in the pulling direction or grinding direction on the tub edge 2, which prevents the respective roller 18 from getting caught on a building edge, building corner, step or similar obstacles.

[0050] A variant of the half-tub 3 according to the invention is shown in the Fig. 15 to 22, to which reference is made below. The half-tub 3 comprises a base profile 21, which essentially corresponds to the half-tub according to the exemplary embodiment described above, and an extension profile 22, which is mounted so as to be longitudinally displaceable in the base profile 21. The cross-section of the base profile 21 is approximately adapted to the extension profile 22, wherein the lateral edging walls 27 of the extension profile 22 have a slightly lower height than the tub rim 2 and are each guided in lateral guide strips 23 of the base profile 21, designed as angle profiles.

[0051] In the extension profile 22, several equally spaced elongated holes 24 extend in the longitudinal direction or in the extension direction, respectively, through which guide webs 25 of the base profile 21 pass. The guide webs 25 are strip-shaped and each comprise a clamping piece 26 with a trapezoidal cross-section, which prevents the extension profile 22 from lifting off or tilting relative to the base profile 21.

[0052] In addition, the clamping pieces 26 completely cover the slots 24 when the extension profile 22 is fully inserted into the base profile 21, as is the case, for example, in Fig. 15 is shown.

[0053] Instead of guide webs 25, only guide pins or guide pins may be provided, which are arranged in a fixed position on the base profile 21 and extend through the elongated holes 24. The guide pins or guide pins may each have a widened head that functionally corresponds to the clamping piece 26.

[0054] In the illustrated embodiment, a roller block 14 with two rollers 15 is also provided on the foot side of the extension profile 22.

[0055] In the following, reference is made to the Fig. 18 to 22. The extension profile 22 can be fixed with respect to the base profile 21 in a certain predetermined grid dimension. On the lateral frame wall 27 of the extension profile 22, a locking pin 28 designed as a sliding pin is provided, which penetrates an elongated hole 29 extending transversely to the extension direction. The locking pin 28 is provided at each end with a head 30 so that it captively penetrates the elongated hole 29. The locking pin 28 also penetrates an elongated hole 31 in the tub rim 2 of the half-tub 3, which extends transversely to the elongated hole 29. In this elongated hole 31, relative to the illustrated position of use of the half-tub 3, receiving pockets 32 are provided, each pointing downwards, i.e. in the direction of gravity, the distance between which pockets in the extension direction defines different locking positions.

[0056] In order to effect a longitudinal displacement of the extension profile, i.e., an extension of the extension profile 22 relative to the base profile 21, the locking pin 28 must be lifted out of the respective receiving pocket 32 so that it can be moved in the elongated hole 31 of the tub rim 2. With the extension movement of the extension profile 22, the locking pin 28 reaches the next, adjacent receiving pocket 32, into which it would fall by gravity if it were not lifted by hand.

[0057] The locked position corresponds to the Fig. 19, the unlocked position or intermediate position of the locking pin 28 in Fig. 22 corresponds to the view in Fig. 21.

[0058] Instead of such a design of the locking pin 28, it would also be possible to provide one or more spring-loaded locking elements / catches which interact with a perforated strip in the tub rim 2.
