Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a sliding window or sliding door arrangement with a fixed frame and at least one sliding sash, which is provided with a lift-and-slide fitting by means of which the sliding sash can be adjusted into a raised position in which it can be horizontally displaced.
[0002] Sliding window or door systems with sliding sashes are commonly known, for example, as manually operated patio or balcony windows or doors. With conventional sliding window or door systems, a secure ventilation position is not usually possible regardless of the horizontal sliding position of the sash, as the open sash, when lowered, is only prevented from moving by friction caused by its weight. However, with sufficient force, this friction can be overcome, and the lowered sash can be opened further or even fully.
