Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to an electrocauterization instrument, in particular a disposable electrocauterization instrument for endoscopic therapy.
[0002] Recently, there has been a trend in surgical procedures towards minimally invasive surgery (MIS) to reduce surgical trauma. Compared to traditional techniques, MIS is characterized by smaller incisions, less surgical trauma, faster recovery, and less pain.
[0003] Example of endoscopic MIS: During the surgical procedure, various instruments with long handles are used, allowing the surgeon to cut, sever, clamp, etc., in a very confined space. Electrosurgical units (ESUs) with minimally invasive electrocautery instruments such as scissors or clamps are used. The tips of the electrocautery instruments discharge high-frequency electrical currents into the blood vessels, muscles, or tissues to surgically treat them, i.e., to cut, cauterize (to stop bleeding), strip, cut, suture, or knot using electrocautery.
[0004] For improved hygiene and safety, electrocautery instruments, like conventional needles, should be discarded after a single use. Currently, electrocautery instruments for endoscopic MIS consist of too many components and parts, making assembly highly impractical. The excessive number of components and parts necessitates too many manufacturing modules, assembly is complicated, and automated production remains at a low level, resulting in high manufacturing costs. German patent application DE 203 09 776 U1 discloses a surgical instrument comprising a shaft, a handle, and a coupling device for axially connecting the shaft to the handle in a coupled position.
[0005] In view of the aforementioned problems, the aim is to solve the problems of high production costs and complicated assembly.
[0006] The aim of the present invention is to create an electrocautery instrument for endoscopic therapy, which has the same functionality as conventional electrocautery tools, but reduces the number of components to the smallest possible number and greatly reduces production costs.
[0007] Another objective of the present invention is to create an electrocauterization instrument for endoscopic therapy, the construction of which is simpler and which can be assembled much faster, so that it can also be assembled and produced automatically.
[0008] The present invention provides an electrocautery instrument for endoscopic therapy according to claim 1. Further advantageous embodiments are defined in the dependent claims. The electrocautery instrument for endoscopic therapy essentially consists of a handle and a rotatable positioning element. The handle, in turn, essentially consists of a cylindrical part, a fastening element, and at least one protruding fastening element. The fastening element and the protruding fastening element are arranged on the cylindrical part, which has a first hole. The rotatable positioning element surrounds a cylindrical part and further consists of a rotatable element, a second hole, at least one clamping element, and several fastening units. The rotatable element is rotatably connected to the cylindrical part. The clamping element is located on one side wall of the second hole and connects to the fastener. All fasteners are recessed into the side wall of the second hole, with the rotating element positioned according to the protruding fasteners. The rotating element serves to turn the rotating positioning element so that the protruding fastener can be positioned on one of the corresponding fasteners. The electrocautery rod passes through the second hole and the first hole to be operated by the handle.
[0009] The present invention functions as follows: When a surgeon rotates the rotatable positioning element with their hands, the protruding fastening element of the cylindrical part is pressed against the fastening units. This produces a quiet sound, which gives the surgeon a better sense of position and hand position during the operation. The present invention also has a simpler design with lower manufacturing costs and can be disposed of after a single use. This helps to avoid secondary infections.
[0010] The invention is described in detail below with reference to a preferred embodiment and the drawing. The drawing shows: Fig. 1 a schematic, perspective view of an electrocauterization instrument according to the present invention, Fig. 2 a schematic exploded view of the electrocauterization instrument according to the present invention, Fig. 3 a sectional view of the electrocauterization instrument according to the present invention, Fig. 4 an exploded view of the sectional representation of the electrocauterization instrument according to the present invention, Fig. 5 a schematic perspective view of a rotatable positioning part according to the present invention, Fig. 6 a sectional view showing how the positioning element positions an electrocauterization rod according to the present invention, and Fig. 7 a sectional view showing that all protruding fastening elements are located on a corresponding fastening unit in accordance with the present invention.
[0011] The description and the attached illustrations of the invention disclosed herein are only exemplary and illustrative and do not limit the scope of the invention.
[0012] Fig. Figure 1 is a perspective schematic representation of an electrocautery instrument 100 according to the present invention. The present invention provides an electrocautery instrument 100 for endoscopic therapy, which is used with an electrocautery rod 10. The electrocautery rod 10 referred to herein is only one embodiment of the present invention. In another embodiment, it may also be scissors, a clamp, or another electrocautery tool. The electrocautery instrument 100 consists of a handle 110 and a rotatable positioning part 200.
[0013] Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 - Fig. Figure 2 is a schematic exploded view of the electrocauterization instrument 100 according to the present invention. Fig. Figure 3 is a sectional drawing of the electrocautery instrument 100 according to the present invention. The handle 110 has a cylindrical part 120, a fastening element 122, and at least one protruding fastening element 130. The fastening element 122 and the protruding fastening element 130 are located on the outside of the cylindrical part 120, the cylindrical part 120 forming a first hole 140 through which the electrocautery rod 10 is guided. The fastening element 122 described above essentially further comprises a flange 124 and a recess 126. One side of the flange 124 forms a chamfer angle 128, and the flange 124 is located adjacent to the recess 126. The protruding fastening elements 130 are preferably located on the two sides of the cylindrical part 120.They protrude from a recess 132 in the cylindrical part 120, so that the upper edge of the two protruding fastening elements 130 can extend above the surface of the cylindrical part 120.
[0014] The rotatable positioning part 200 surrounds the cylindrical part 120. The rotatable positioning part 200 essentially consists of a rotatable element 210, a second hole 220, at least one clamping part 230, and several fastening units 250. The rotatable element 210 is rotatably connected to the cylindrical part 120 (a dotted line in Fig. Figure 3 indicates a direction of rotation of the rotatable element 210). The clamping part 230 is located on a side wall of the second hole 220 and connects to the fastening element 122. The fastening units 250 lie side by side on and around the side wall of the second hole 220.
[0015] Fig. Figure 4 is an exploded view of the sectional view of the electrocautery instrument 100 according to the present invention. The clamping element 230 is located in a fourth hole 290, which is connected to the second hole 220. The rotatable positioning element 200 essentially further comprises a positioning element 260, a third hole 270, a through-hole 280, and a base 292. The rotatable positioning element 200 also has three holes arranged in a ladder-like pattern. The three holes are the second hole 220, the third hole 270, and the fourth hole 290. The second hole 220, the third hole 270, and the fourth hole 290 are connected to each other and are preferably arranged on the same axis. In other embodiments, they need not be arranged on the same axis; the arrangement can be modified according to the circumstances. The present invention is not limited to the described arrangement.
[0016] During a process in which the rotatable positioning part 200 surrounds the cylindrical part 120, the cylindrical part 120 can only be assembled until it abuts the round deflecting plate 222 at a boundary between the third hole 270 and the second hole 220. Thus, when assembling the rotatable positioning part 200 and the handle 110, the cylindrical part 120 is guided into the fourth hole 290 and the second hole 220, but not into the third hole 270.
[0017] The diameter of the third hole 270 is also smaller than the diameter of the second hole 220. The second hole 220 is located between the fourth hole 290 and the third hole 270, and the diameter of the fourth hole 290 is larger than the diameter of the second hole 220. The diameter of the first hole 140 lies between the diameter of the second hole 220 and the diameter of the third hole 270.
[0018] The base 292 of the fourth hole 290 is perpendicular to the side wall of the fourth hole 290.
[0019] The clamping part 230 extends vertically from the base 292 into the fourth hole 290. It engages with the fastening element 122 of the cylindrical part 120.
[0020] Fig. Figure 5 is a schematic perspective view of the rotatable positioning part 200 according to the present invention. The clamping part 230 further comprises a projecting arm 232 and a hook 234, the hook 234 being located at one end of the projecting arm 232. When the rotatable positioning part 200 surrounds the cylindrical part 120, the projecting arm 232 can elastically connect the hook 234 to the fastening element 122. When the rotatable positioning part 200 surrounds the cylindrical part 120, the hook 234, which also has an inclined surface (not shown in the figure), passes over the flange 124 with a chamfer angle 128. Only a very small force is then required to allow the hook 234 of the clamping part 230 to slide elastically over the flange 124 into the recess 126.
[0021] In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, there can be three clamping parts 230. When the rotatable positioning part 200 surrounds the cylindrical part 120, the three clamping parts 230 can be stably fixed onto the cylindrical part 120. The number of clamping parts 230 can vary according to requirements and is not limited to the disclosures of the present invention. The rotatable positioning part 200 can therefore be very conveniently placed on the cylindrical part 120 of the handle 110 without detaching itself.
[0022] It should be noted that one of the technical features of the present invention is that the bore 280 is located on a lateral edge of the rotatable positioning part 200, and that the bore 280 is connected to the third hole 270 (see Fig. 4) so that the positioning element 260 can slide through, wherein the positioning element 260 can be a screw, a bolt, a pin, or a key. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the positioning element 260 is the screw with which the electrocautery rod 10 can be better positioned or fixed, or with which the electrocautery rod 10 can be released. The positioning element 260, which is arranged radially to the third hole 270 (not shown), can position the electrocautery rod 10 in a radial direction.
[0023] In Fig. In Figure 6, the positioning element 260 is a screw. The figure shows a sectional view of how the positioning element 260 positions the electrocautery rod 10 according to the present invention. A bore 280 is arranged radially (not shown) to the third hole 270, and the positioning element 260 is screwed into the bore 280 up to the electrocautery rod 10 in order to position the electrocautery rod 10 radially. In the embodiment according to Fig. 3, Fig. 4 and Fig. 6 The positioning element 260 also has a cover 262 located at an upper end of the bore 280 to prevent the positioning element 260 from shifting in a radial direction (not shown).
[0024] Fig. Figure 7 is a sectional drawing showing how all protruding fastening elements 130 according to the present invention are arranged according to a respective fastening unit 250. All fastening units are located on and around a side wall of the second hole 220 and according to the protruding fastening elements 130. Fig. 2 and Fig. 4. There is a pair of penetrating bores 136 on two sides of the protruding fastener 130, and the pair of penetrating bores 136 is located in the recess 132. All penetrating bores are in contact with the first hole 140 of the cylindrical part 120. In this design, all protruding fasteners 130 of the cylindrical part 120 are elastic enough to move elastically when an external force is applied.
[0025] When the rotatable positioning part 200 has been placed on the cylindrical part 120, the rotatable element 210 is positioned according to the protruding fastening elements 130. After the rotatable positioning part 200 has been rotated by the rotatable element 210, the protruding fastening element 130 is secured to any corresponding fastening unit 250. The fastening units 250 are preferably arcuate. In other embodiments, the fastening units 250 can also be semicircular, trapezoidal, or otherwise shaped.
[0026] Since the surface of all protruding fasteners 130 extends beyond the surface of the cylindrical part 120, the protruding fasteners 130 make contact with all fastening units 250. Therefore, the rotatable element 210 can rotate easily. According to Fig.7 The length (i.e., the arc length) of all fastening units 250 preferably corresponds to the length of all protruding fastening elements 130, such that all protruding fastening elements 130 are located on a corresponding fastening unit 250. When a surgeon then rotates the rotatable positioning part 200 with their finger, all protruding fastening elements 130 of the cylindrical part 120 are brought into elastic contact with the fastening units 250. This produces a quiet sound, which gives the surgeon a better sense of position and hand position during the operation.
[0027] Finally, the electrocautery rod 10 successively penetrates the third hole 270, the second hole 220, the fourth hole 290, and the first hole 140, so that the electrocautery rod 10 can be operated with the handle 110. Therefore, the electrocautery instrument 100 of the present invention simplifies the design of the conventional embodiment. Manufacturing costs can thus be reduced, and the device is suitable for single use.
[0028] It should be noted that the rotatable element 210 of the present embodiment of the invention preferably consists of a plurality of protruding areas. In other embodiments, the rotatable element 210 can also be a friction element with a pattern on its outer surface, an adjusting element with a ratchet or a gear, or another suitable element that can rotate the rotatable element 210 of the present invention in a suitable manner.
[0029] In summary, the electrocauterization instrument for endoscopic therapy according to the present invention achieves the stated objectives and eliminates the shortcomings of conventional embodiments.
