[0009] Hereinafter, an apparatus and method for detecting the mounting of a cassette will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings by various examples of embodiments.

[0010] In addition, terms such as first, second, A, B, (a), and (b) may be used in describing the elements of this specification. Although these terms are used only to distinguish one element from another, the essence, order, or sequence of the elements is not limited by the terms. When one element is said to be "connected," combined, or "coupled" to another element, one element may be directly connected or coupled to the other element, but it should also be understood that a third element may be "connected," "combined," or "coupled" between the two elements.

[0011] In this specification, "medium" can be defined as a concept that includes, for example, all banknotes, securities, electronic settlement systems, coins, and gift cards. A financial device according to an embodiment of the present invention can be, for example, a device for performing financial tasks for receiving various media, such as banknotes, securities, electronic settlement systems, coins, and gift cards, and for performing media processing, for example, deposit processing, processing such as payment through electronic settlement systems, and gift card exchange, and / or withdrawal processing, processing such as debiting electronic settlement systems or gift card debiting. For example, the financial device can include an automated teller machine (ATM), such as a cash dispenser (CD) or a cash recycling device. However, the financial device is not limited to the above-mentioned examples and may include a device for automating financial tasks, such as a financial information system (FIS).

[0012] Embodiments of the present invention will be described below assuming that a financial device is a financial automation device. It should be noted that this assumption is only for convenience of description, and the technical feature of the present invention is not limited to a financial automation device.

[0013] Fig. 1 is a block diagram of a cartridge mounting detection device according to an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Fig. 1, the cassette mounting detection device 100 may include a cassette 10, a cassette mounting unit 110, and a main control unit 120. The cassette mounting detection device 100 may further include a cable 130.

[0014] In this specification, only examples related to the present invention are described to avoid obscuring the essential characteristics of the present embodiment. Consequently, those skilled in the art relating to the present embodiment will understand that, in addition to the Fig. 1 may also contain other universal elements.

[0015] The cartridge mounting detection device 100 can detect the mounting of a cartridge. The cartridge mounting detection device 100 detects a slot on which a cartridge has been mounted, among a plurality of slots. For example, the cartridge mounting detection device 100 can include a cash dispenser (CD), a cash recycling device, or an automated teller machine (ATM) on which a cartridge for storing media to be inserted or removed is mounted. However, the cartridge mounting detection device 100 is not limited to the examples and can include any device for detecting whether a cartridge has been mounted.

[0016] The cassette 10 holds media. The media can include banknotes, securities, electronic accounting systems, coins, and gift cards. The cassette 10 can be attached to or detached from the slot of the cassette mounting unit 110. The cassette mounting unit 110 includes a plurality of slots 12, 22, ... Thus, a plurality of cassettes 10, 20, ... can be mounted on the cassette mounting unit 110. The plurality of cassettes 10, 20, ... can store media of different sizes or thicknesses. For example, the plurality of cassettes 10, 20, ... can store respective banknotes, such as 1,000 won banknotes, 5,000 won banknotes, 10,000 won banknotes, 50,000 won banknotes, and 100,000 won checks. Alternatively, different cassettes can store one type of banknote.

[0017] The cassette mounting unit 110 may be implemented on a storage board. The cassette mounting unit 110 may include a first cassette mounting unit up to an Nth cassette mounting unit, each of which can mount a cassette. The first cassette mounting unit may include a first mounting detection circuit 11 and / or a first slot 12. Likewise, the Nth cassette mounting unit may include an Nth mounting detection circuit 31 and / or an Nth slot 32. For simplicity of description, the first cassette mounting unit will be described as an example.

[0018] When the cassette 10 is mounted on the first slot 12 of the first cassette mounting unit, a cassette voltage is output to the first cassette mounting unit in response to an output signal received from the main control unit 120. The cassette voltage may correspond to a voltage detected by the cassette 10 or a voltage detection terminal 122 when the cassette 10 was mounted on a slot. The cassette 10 may detect the cassette voltage of the first slot 12 on which the cassette 10 was mounted. Here, the cassette voltage of each slot has a different voltage level. Consequently, the cassette 10 can check a slot, out of the plurality of slots 12, 22, ..., of the cassette mounting unit 110, on which it was mounted, based on a detected cassette voltage. The main control unit 120 can detect a cassette voltage output from the cassette mounting unit 110 and check a slot on which a cassette has been mounted from the plurality of slots 12, 22, ....

[0019] The mounting detection circuit of each slot may share a signal output terminal 121 and a voltage detection terminal 122 with the mounting detection circuits of other slots. In other words, the mounting detection circuit of at least one slot may be connected to a single signal output terminal 121, and the mounting detection circuit of at least one slot may be connected to a single voltage detection terminal 122. Here, the mounting detection circuits of multiple slots connected to the same signal output terminal 121 are connected to different voltage detection terminals 122. This will be explained with reference to Fig. 3 described in detail.

[0020] A maximum number of mounting detection circuits of slots that can be connected to the single signal output terminal 121 is the same as the number of voltage detection terminals 122. For example, when the number of voltage detection terminals is "n", a maximum number "n" of mounting detection circuits of slots can be connected to the single signal output terminal 121.

[0021] The first mounting detection circuit 11 may include an internal resistor and a diode. When the cassette 10 is mounted on the first slot 12, the main control unit 120 outputs an output signal to the first cassette mounting unit. The output signal flows into the internal resistor and the diode of the first mounting detection circuit 11. The internal resistor may be a variable resistor. The diode is connected in series with the internal resistor and acts to prevent an output signal from flowing into the mounting detection circuit of another slot. This will be explained with reference to Fig. 3 described in detail.

[0022] The main control unit 120 can generate an output signal and output the output signal to the cartridge mounting unit 110 through the at least one signal output terminal 121. The main control unit 120 can detect a cartridge voltage in response to the output signal through the at least one voltage detection terminal 122. The main control unit 120 can detect a slot on which the cartridge 10 has been mounted based on the detected cartridge voltage.

[0023] For example, the number of signal output terminals 121 and the number of voltage detection terminals 122 of the main control unit 120 may be determined based on the number of cassettes that can be mounted on the cassette mounting detection device 100.

[0024] The voltage detection terminal 122 of the main control unit 120 may be connected to a pull-down resistor. Here, the pull-down resistor may be arranged on each of the main control unit 120 (e.g., the main board) and the cassette mounting unit 110 (e.g., the storage board). The cassette voltage of each slot may be determined based on the resistance value of the pull-down resistor connected to the voltage detection terminal 122, to which the mounting detection circuit of each slot is connected, and the resistance value of the internal resistance of the mounting detection circuit of a corresponding slot.

[0025] The resistance values of the pull-down resistor and the internal resistance can be determined such that a resistance ratio calculated for each slot has a different value. The resistance ratio is a ratio of the resistance value of a pull-down resistor to the sum of the resistance value of the pull-down resistor connected to the mounting detection circuit of each slot and the resistance value of the internal resistance of the mounting detection circuit of a corresponding slot. This is explained with reference to Fig. 3 described in detail.

[0026] The main control unit 120 may further include a signal generation unit 123, a signal detection unit 124, and a mounting detection unit 125. The signal generation unit 123 may generate an output signal and output the output signal to the cartridge mounting unit 110 through the at least one signal output terminal 121. The signal generation unit 123 may output a high signal or a low signal as the output signal depending on the signal output terminal 121.

[0027] The signal detection unit 124 detects a cassette voltage through the at least one voltage detection terminal 122. The mounting detection unit 125 identifies a slot on which the cassette 10 has been mounted based on a generated output signal and a detected cassette voltage.

[0028] According to one embodiment, the signal generation unit 123 may generate a high-level output signal and output the output signal to the mounting detection circuit of a slot to be checked to determine whether the cassette 10 has been mounted on the slot. The signal detection unit 124 detects the cassette voltage of the slot to which the output signal was output. The mounting detection unit 125 may check, based on the output signal and the detected cassette voltage, whether a cassette has been mounted on the slot. Consequently, the mounting detection unit 125 determines whether the cassette voltage detected in the slot to which the output signal was output corresponds to a ground reference voltage. If it is determined that the cassette voltage corresponds to the ground reference voltage, the mounting detection unit 125 determines that no cassette is mounted on the slot.If it is determined that the cassette voltage does not correspond to the ground reference voltage, the mounting detection unit 125 determines that the cassette has been mounted on the slot.

[0029] In other embodiments, the signal generation unit 123 may generate an output signal and sequentially output the high-level output signal to a plurality of signal output terminals. The signal detection unit 124 may sequentially detect cartridge voltages through the voltage detection terminal 122. The mounting detection unit 125 may detect a slot on which the cartridge 10 has been mounted based on the output signal and the sequentially detected cartridge voltages. The mounting detection unit 125 may compare each detected cartridge voltage corresponding to each slot and determine a slot on which the cartridge 10 has been mounted.

[0030] The main control unit 120 may further include a storage unit (not shown) for storing cartridge voltages corresponding to respective slots. The mounting detection unit 125 may compare a cartridge voltage detected in response to an output signal with cartridge voltages stored in the storage unit (not shown) and determine a slot on which the cartridge 10 has been mounted based on a result of the comparison. Alternatively, if the cartridge voltage is a specific value or less, the mounting detection unit 125 may determine that the cartridge 10 has not been mounted on a corresponding slot. The specific value may be smaller than the cartridge voltage of each or all of the slots. For example, the specific value may be a ground reference voltage.

[0031] The main control unit 120 according to the present embodiment may correspond to or include at least one processor. Consequently, the cartridge mounting detection device 100 may be driven in such a manner that it is incorporated into another hardware device, such as a microprocessor or a general-purpose computer system.

[0032] The cable 130 connects the cassette mounting unit 110 and the main control unit 120. The number of cables 130 can be increased depending on the number of connected cassettes. In the cassette mounting detection device 100 according to various embodiments of the present invention, the number of cables 130 connecting the cassette mounting unit 110 and the main control unit 120 can be reduced by sharing any one cable for receiving an output signal generated by the main control unit 120 and a cable for outputting a signal to the main control unit 120 with other slots.

[0033] For example, if the main control unit 120 includes m signal output terminals and n voltage detection terminals, the cassette mounting detection device 100 can detect a maximum number (m*n) of cassettes using (m+n) cables. Here, m and n are natural numbers. Consequently, the main control unit 120 and the cassette mounting unit 110 can be connected by a smaller number of signal lines.

[0034] According to one embodiment, the cable 130 may include multiple signal lines. The number of signal lines is increased depending on the number of connected cartridges. In the cartridge mounting detection device 100, the number of signal lines connecting the cartridge mounting unit 110 and the main control unit 120 can be reduced by sharing each signal line for receiving an output signal generated by the main control unit 120 and one signal line for outputting a signal to the main control unit 120 with other slots.

[0035] For example, if the main control unit 120 includes m signal output terminals and n voltage detection terminals, the cartridge mounting detection device 100 can detect a maximum number (m*n) of cartridges using (m+n) signal lines. Here, m and n are natural numbers. Consequently, the main control unit 120 and the cartridge mounting unit 110 can be connected by a smaller number of signal lines.

[0036] Fig. 2 is a block diagram of a financial device according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0037] Referring to Fig. 2, the financial device 200 may include the cassettes 10, 20, ..., the cassette mounting unit 110, the cable 130, the media input / output (I / O) unit 210, and a main processor 220. The main processor 220 of Fig. 2 comprises the main control unit 120 of Fig. 1. The device used in conjunction with the cassettes 10, 20, ..., the cassette mounting unit 110, the cable 130 and the main control unit 120 with reference to Fig. 1 can be applied to the cassettes 10, 20, ..., the cassette mounting unit 110, the cable 130, the media I / O unit 210 and the main processor 220 of Fig. 2 will be applied. Consequently, content that is identical to that of Fig. 1 overlap, omitted.

[0038] The financial device 200 of Fig. 2 detects a slot from several slots on which a cassette has been mounted and processes the insertion or removal of a corresponding medium.

[0039] The cassette 10 holds media inserted from the media I / O unit 210 or media removed from the media I / O unit 210. The cassette 10 can be attached to or detached from a slot of the cassette mounting unit 110. The cassette mounting unit 110 is equipped with a plurality of slots 12, 22, ..., and the plurality of cassettes 10, 20, ... can be mounted on the cassette mounting unit 110.

[0040] The plurality of cassettes 10, 20, ... can be mounted on the cassette mounting unit 110. The cassette mounting unit 110 can include a first cassette mounting unit up to an Nth cassette mounting unit. The first cassette mounting unit can include the first mounting detection circuit 11 and / or the first slot 12. Likewise, the Nth cassette mounting unit can include an Nth mounting detection circuit 31 and / or an Nth slot 32.

[0041] When the cassette 10 is mounted on a slot, a cassette voltage is output to the slot in response to an output signal from the main control unit 120. The cassette 10 can detect the cassette voltage of the slot on which the cassette 10 has been mounted and, based on the detected cassette voltage, can check which of the plurality of slots 12, 22, ... of the cassette mounting unit 110 it has been mounted on.

[0042] Here, a type of media to be inserted and removed can be predetermined for each slot of the plurality of slots 12, 22, .... Also, the cassette 10 can store information about the type of media that can be inserted into or removed from the cassette 10. The information about the type of media for insertion and removal can be stored before the cassette 10 is mounted on the slot. When the cassette 10 is mounted on one of the plurality of slots, the cassette voltage is output to a corresponding slot by the output signal from the main control unit 120. The cassette 10 can detect which of the plurality of slots it is mounted on based on the output cassette voltage and store a type of media predetermined for the detected slot as information about the type of media to be inserted and removed.Alternatively, if the type of media stored on the cartridge is different from the type of media predetermined for the slot, the cartridge 10 may change the information about the type of media stored in the cartridge 10 to the type of media predetermined for the slot.

[0043] The media I / O unit 210 can insert or remove media from the media I / O unit 210. For example, the media can include, but is not limited to, banknotes, securities, electronic accounting systems, coins, and gift cards. The media I / O unit 210 can include a sensor to determine whether a media has been inserted or removed.

[0044] The main processor 220 can output an output signal to the cartridge mounting unit 110 through at least one signal output terminal 221 and detect a cartridge voltage in response to the output signal through at least one voltage detection terminal 222. The cartridge mounting unit 110 detects a slot on which a cartridge has been mounted based on the detected cartridge voltage. Here, the main processor 220 can further include a storage unit (not shown) for storing cartridge voltages corresponding to respective slots.

[0045] In addition, the main processor 220 can control the media I / O unit 210 and the cartridge mounting unit 110 and process the insertion or removal of a media.

[0046] The main processor 220 may generate an output signal and output the output signal to the cartridge mounting unit 110 through at least one signal output terminal 221. The main processor 220 may output a high signal or a low signal as the output signal depending on the signal output terminal 221. For example, after outputting a high signal to the signal output terminal 221 connected to a slot to be checked for whether the cartridge 10 has been mounted on the slot, the main processor 220 may determine whether the cartridge voltage of the signal output terminal 221 connected to the slot corresponds to a ground reference voltage and determine whether the cartridge 10 has been mounted on the slot. For example, if the cartridge voltage of a slot is a specific value or less, the main processor 220 may determine that no cartridge has been mounted on a corresponding slot.

[0047] Fig. 3 is a circuit diagram of the cartridge mounting detecting device according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0048] Referring to Fig. 3, the cassette mounting detection device 100 may comprise the cassette 10, the cassette mounting unit 110, the main control unit 120, and the cable 130. The components described in connection with the cassettes 10, 20, ..., the cassette mounting unit 110, the cable 130, and the main control unit 120 with reference to Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 can be applied to the cassettes 10, 20, ..., the cassette mounting unit 110, the cable 130, the media I / O unit 210 and the main control unit 130 of Fig. 3 are applied. Consequently, content that is related to that of Fig. 1 overlap, omitted.

[0049] The cassette mounting detecting device 100 according to the present embodiment can detect whether six cassettes 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 have been mounted.

[0050] The cassette mounting unit 110 may include a first cassette mounting unit to a sixth cassette mounting unit on which cassettes are to be mounted. The six cassettes 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 are mounted on the respective slots of the first cassette mounting unit to the sixth cassette mounting unit. Each of the cassette mounting units may include a mounting detection circuit and a slot. The first cassette mounting unit is described below as an example.

[0051] The first cartridge mounting unit may include the first mounting detection circuit 11 and the first slot 12. The first mounting detection circuit 11 includes an internal resistor 13 and a diode 14 connected in series with the internal resistor 13. When an output signal is input to the first cartridge mounting unit and the cartridge 10 is mounted on the first slot 12, the circuits of the first mounting detection circuit 11 are connected through the cartridge 10 mounted on the first slot 12. The input signal flows into the internal resistor 13 and the diode 14 of the first mounting detection circuit 11. In response, the cartridge voltage of the first slot 12 is output. The cartridge 10 may detect the cartridge voltage of the first slot 12 and check which slot it has been mounted on based on the detected cartridge voltage.

[0052] The main control unit 120 may generate an output signal, may output the output signal to the cartridge mounting unit 110 through the at least one signal output terminal 121, and may detect a cartridge voltage in response to the output signal through the at least one voltage detection terminal 122. Referring to Fig. 3, the voltage sensing terminal 122 of the main control unit 120 may be connected to pull-down resistors 126 and 127. The pull-down resistors 126 and 127 may be connected between the voltage sensing terminal 122 and a terminal for a ground reference voltage.

[0053] The mounting detection circuit of each slot can share each of the signal output terminal 121 and the voltage detection terminal 122 with the mounting detection circuits of other slots. The cartridge mounting detection device 100 according to the present embodiment was illustrated as including two voltage detection terminals 122 and three signal output terminals 121. The mounting detection circuits of two slots were illustrated as being connected to a single signal output terminal 121. The mounting detection circuits of three slots were illustrated as being connected to the single detection terminal 122.

[0054] The mounting detection circuits of multiple slots connected to the same signal output terminal 121 must be connected to different voltage detection terminals 122. In the present embodiment, the mounting detection circuits of a maximum of two slots can be connected to the single signal output terminal 121 because the cartridge mounting detection device 100 includes the three signal output terminals 121.

[0055] The number of signal output terminals 121 and the number of voltage detection terminals 122 can be determined based on the number of slot mounting detection circuits connected to the main control unit 120. The mounting detection circuits of multiple slots connected to the same signal output terminal 121 must be connected to different voltage detection terminals 122. The number of signal output terminals 121 and the number of voltage detection terminals 122 also increase as the number of slot mounting detection circuits increases. For example, if eight cassettes are mounted, the mounting detection circuit of each slot can be connected to four signal output terminals 121 and two voltage detection terminals 122.

[0056] Thus, the main control unit 120 can detect a slot on which the cartridge 10 has been mounted in the cartridge mounting unit 110 based on a cartridge voltage detected at the signal output terminal 121 and the voltage detection terminal 122. Furthermore, each cartridge can detect which of the plurality of slots it has been mounted on by detecting the cartridge voltage of a slot on which it has been mounted.

[0057] Fig. 4 is a diagram for configuring the operation of the cartridge mounting detecting device according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0058] Referring to Fig. 4, the cassette mounting detection device 100 may include the cassette 10, the cassette mounting unit 110, the main control unit 120, and the cable 130. The contents related to the cassette 10, the cassette mounting unit 110, the cable 130, and the main control unit 120 with reference to Fig. 1 and Fig. 3 can be applied to the cassette 10, the cassette mounting unit 110, the cable 130, the media I / O unit 210 and the main control unit 120 of Fig. 4 will be applied. Consequently, content that is related to that of Fig. 1 overlap, omitted.

[0059] The cassette mounting detection device 100 according to the present embodiment can detect whether six cassettes 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 have been mounted. Fig. 4 only three cassettes 10, 20 and 30 are shown as mounted.

[0060] When the cassette 10 is mounted on one of the plurality of slots 12, 22, ... of the cassette mounting unit 110, the main control unit 120 can generate and output an output signal. The cassette 10 can detect a cassette voltage, output it from the cassette mounting unit 110 in response to the output signal of the main control unit 120, and check which of the plurality of slots 12, 22, ... it has been mounted on based on the detected cassette voltage.

[0061] The main control unit 120 can output the output signal to the cassette mounting unit 110 through at least one signal output terminal 121 and detect the cassette voltage in response to the output signal through the at least one voltage detection terminal 122. The main control unit 120 can detect a slot on which the cassette 10 has been mounted in the cassette mounting unit 110 based on the detected cassette voltage.

[0062] In the embodiment, the first mounting detection circuit 11 to the Nth mounting detection circuit 31 include internal resistors with respective internal resistance parts of 2R, 3R, R, 2R, and 3R. The main control unit 120 includes pull-down resistors 126 and 127 of 3R and 4R. The cassette voltage of each slot is determined based on the resistance value of the pull-down resistor of the voltage detection terminal 122 connected to the mounting detection circuit of a corresponding slot, the resistance value of the internal resistance of the mounting detection circuit, and a voltage drop of the diode. Consequently, parts of the cassette voltage V cst1 to V cst6 respective slots can be expressed as follows. Vcst1=34∗(VH−VD) Vcst2=35∗(VH−VD) Vcst3=12∗(VH−VD) Vcst4=45∗(VH−VD) Vcst5=23∗(VH−VD) Vcst6=47∗(VH−VD)

[0063] In the equations, V H the voltage value of a high signal of a test signal and V D denotes a voltage drop attributable to the diode. The present invention is not limited to the present embodiment, and the resistance values of the pull-down resistor and the internal resistance can be determined as a variety of values whose resistance ratios vary. The resistance ratio is a ratio of the resistance value of a pull-down resistor to the sum of the resistance value of the pull-down resistor connected to the mounting detection circuit of each slot and the resistance value of the internal resistance of the mounting detection circuit of a corresponding slot.

[0064] The main control unit 120 can output an output signal to the cassette mounting unit 110 through the at least one signal output terminal 121. As shown in Fig. 4, the diode 14 acts here to prevent the output signal from flowing into the mounting detection circuit of another slot.

[0065] Cassette voltages of the first to third slots on which the cassettes 10, 20 and 30 were mounted, which are detected by the cassettes 10, 20 and 30 and the main control unit 120, are V, respectively. cst1 , V cst2 and V cst3 , and cassette voltages of the fourth to sixth slots are output as 0 because the cassette was not mounted on the fourth to sixth slots.

[0066] As described above, the cartridge mounting detection device 100 can output a slot detection signal and detect a slot on which a cartridge has been mounted based on a cartridge voltage detected in response to the output signal. Therefore, even though the number of slots is increased, a slot on which a cartridge has been mounted can be efficiently detected using a smaller number of signal lines. Furthermore, a cartridge can detect which slot among a plurality of slots it has been mounted on based on the cartridge voltage of a slot on which the cartridge has been mounted.

[0067] Fig. 5 is a flowchart illustrating a method for detecting a slot on which the cartridge has been mounted by a cartridge according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0068] The Fig. The flowchart shown in Figure 5 includes steps that are different from the Fig. 1 to 4. Although contents are omitted below, it can be seen that the information provided in connection with the Fig. 1 to 4 shown cassette also applies to the contents shown in Fig. The flowchart shown in Figure 5 can be applied.

[0069] At step 510, the cassette 10 detects a cassette voltage.

[0070] At step 520, the cassette 10 determines whether the detected cassette voltage corresponds to a first cassette voltage. If the detected cassette voltage is determined not to correspond to the first cassette voltage, the cassette 10 proceeds to step 530. If the detected cassette voltage is determined to correspond to the first cassette voltage, the cassette 10 proceeds to step 560.

[0071] At step 530, the cassette 10 determines whether the detected cassette voltage corresponds to a second cassette voltage. If it is determined that the detected cassette voltage does not correspond to the second cassette voltage, the cassette 10 proceeds to step 540. If it is determined that the detected cassette voltage corresponds to the second cassette voltage, the cassette 10 proceeds to step 570.

[0072] The cassette 10 further determines whether the detected cassette voltage corresponds to a third cassette voltage up to a (Z-1)th cassette voltage. If it is determined that the detected cassette voltage does not correspond to the third to (Z-1)th cassette voltage, the cassette 10 proceeds to a step of comparing the next cassette voltage. If it is determined that the detected cassette voltage corresponds to one of the third cassette voltage up to the (Z-1)th cassette voltage, the cassette 10 determines that it has been mounted on a slot corresponding to a corresponding cassette voltage.

[0073] At step 540, the cassette 10 determines whether the detected cassette voltage corresponds to a Z-th cassette voltage. If it is determined that the detected cassette voltage does not correspond to the Z-th cassette voltage, the cassette 10 proceeds to step 550. If it is determined that the detected cassette voltage corresponds to the Z-th cassette voltage, the cassette 10 proceeds to step 580.

[0074] At step 550, the cartridge determines that it has not been properly mounted on a slot. That is, the cartridge 10 may determine that it has not been properly mounted on a slot because it is determined that the detected cartridge voltage does not correspond to the first cartridge voltage through the Z-th cartridge voltage.

[0075] At step 560, the cartridge 10 determines that it has been mounted on a first slot.

[0076] At step 570, the cartridge 10 determines that it has been mounted on a second slot.

[0077] At step 580, the cartridge 10 determines that it has been mounted on the Nth slot.

[0078] Fig. 6 is a flowchart illustrating a method for detecting the mounting of a cartridge in the cartridge mounting detecting apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0079] The Fig. 6 comprises steps performed by the cassette mounting detection device 100 or the financial device 200 shown in Fig. 1 to 4. Although contents are omitted below, it will be seen that the above-described functions in connection with the cassette mounting detecting device 100 or the financial device 200 shown in Fig. 1 1 to 4, the contents described also apply to the Fig. 6 can be applied.

[0080] At step 610, the signal generating unit 123 generates an output signal to be output to the cassette mounting unit 110.

[0081] At step 620, the signal generating unit 123 sequentially outputs the output signal to a plurality of signal output terminals 121.

[0082] At step 630, the signal detection unit 124 detects the cassette voltages of a plurality of slots through the voltage detection terminals 122.

[0083] At step 640, the mounting detection unit 125 compares each of the detected cassette voltages with stored cassette voltages.

[0084] If it is determined that the detected cassette voltage corresponds to one of the first cassette voltages up to a Z-th cassette voltage, the mounting detection unit 125 proceeds to step 650. If it is determined that the detected cassette voltage does not correspond to one of the first cassette voltages up to the Z-th cassette voltage, the mounting detection unit 125 proceeds to step 660.

[0085] If it is determined at step 650 that the detected cassette voltage corresponds to one of the first cassette voltage to the Z-th cassette voltage, the mounting detection unit 125 determines that a cassette has been mounted on a slot corresponding to the corresponding cassette voltage.

[0086] If it is determined at step 660 that the detected cassette voltage does not correspond to any of the first cassette voltage to the Z-th cassette voltage, the mounting detection unit 125 determines that there is no cassette mounted on a slot.

[0087] As described above, the mounting detection unit 125 can detect how many cassettes have been mounted on which slots in the cassette mounting unit 110 based on an output signal and a detected cassette voltage.

[0088] The mounting detection circuit of each slot can share each signal output terminal 121 and voltage detection terminal 122 with the mounting detection circuits of other slots. Although the sum of the number of signal lines for outputting an output signal and the number of signal lines for detecting a cartridge voltage is smaller than the number of a plurality of slots of the cartridge mounting unit, the cartridge mounting detection device 100 according to the present embodiment can detect whether a cartridge has been mounted.

[0089] Fig. 7 is a flowchart illustrating a method for detecting the mounting of a cartridge in the cartridge mounting detecting apparatus according to another embodiment of the present invention.

[0090] The Fig. The flowchart shown in Figure 7 includes steps that are different from the Fig. 1 to 4 or the financial device 200. Although contents are omitted below, it can be seen that the information provided above in connection with the Fig. 1 to 4, the contents described in the cassette mounting detection device 100 or the financial device 100 also apply to the Fig. The flowchart shown in Figure 7 can be applied.

[0091] At step 710, the signal generating unit 123 outputs an output signal of a high signal to a slot to be checked whether a cassette has been mounted on the slot.

[0092] At step 720, the signal detecting unit 124 detects the cassette voltage of the slot through the voltage detecting terminal connected to a slot to be checked whether the cassette 10 has been mounted on the slot.

[0093] At step 730, the mounting detection unit 125 determines whether the detected cassette voltage corresponds to a specific reference voltage (e.g., a ground reference voltage). If it is determined that the detected cassette voltage corresponds to the specific reference voltage, the mounting detection unit 125 proceeds to step 740. If it is determined that the detected cassette voltage does not correspond to the specific reference voltage, the mounting detection unit 125 proceeds to step 750.

[0094] At step 740, the mounting detection unit 125 determines that no cartridge has been mounted on the slot.

[0095] At step 750, the mounting detection unit 125 determines that a cartridge has been mounted on the slot.

[0096] As described above, the cartridge mounting detecting device generates a signal for detecting a slot on which a cartridge has been mounted, and detects a slot on which a cartridge has been mounted based on a cartridge voltage detected in response to the signal. Consequently, cartridge mounting can be effectively detected even as the number of slots increases.

[0097] In addition, the number of signal lines / cables for connecting the cassette mounting unit and the main control unit can be reduced by sharing each signal line / cable for receiving a signal generated from the main control unit and the signal line / cable for outputting a signal to the main control unit with two other slots.
