AI Technical Summary
Organic light emitting display devices are sensitive to moisture and UV light, leading to outgassing and deterioration of the organic stack, which reduces their lifespan and performance, especially in UV reliability tests and outdoor environments.
Incorporating a UV blocking layer, which can reflect or absorb UV light in the range of 10 nm to 400 nm, is integrated into the display device to prevent UV light from reaching the organic layers, using materials like ZnO x, TiO x, Si x N y, and Ta x O y, and optionally combining these with organic layers for enhanced protection.
The UV blocking layer effectively prevents outgassing and deterioration of the organic layers, maintaining the stability and extending the lifetime of the display device by blocking UV light and reducing emission area reduction.
