Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a belt retractor for a safety belt with a belt reel for winding and unwinding the safety belt, a drive which can drive the belt reel for winding the safety belt, and a locking pawl which locks the belt reel in a locking position and is suitable for holding a belt webbing pull-out force occurring in the event of an accident and leaves the belt reel unlocked in a release position.
[0002] German patent application DE 196 20 236 A1 describes a device with a spool for storing a seat belt wound thereon, wherein the spool is rotatable about an axis in the belt unwinding and winding directions. Also provided are a ratchet or ratchet wheel mounted for rotation with the spool and movable claws with a blocking position and a release position.
[0003] The German patent specification DE 103 57 368 B3 discloses a passenger restraint system for a seat in a motor vehicle with a 3-point belt system with a first retractor, a first belt strap with a first belt tongue and a first belt buckle and with a 2-point belt system with a second retractor, a second belt strap with a second belt tongue and a second belt buckle.
[0004] The invention is based on the object of providing a belt retractor in which a belt retraction force desired for normal operation with the belt fastened can be set particularly easily.
[0005] This object is achieved according to the invention by a belt retractor having the features according to patent claims 1, 10, and 13. Advantageous embodiments are specified in the subclaims.
[0006] A key advantage of the belt retractor according to patent claim 1 is that the retaining pawl provided according to the invention makes it possible to maintain a pretension or a desired belt webbing retraction force without the drive having to be continuously supplied with drive current. It is therefore possible, in order to set a predetermined belt webbing retraction force, for example one selected by the passenger, of 1 N to 7 N, for example, to first control the drive so that it generates the desired belt webbing retraction force. The retaining pawl can then be pivoted into its holding position so that the belt webbing retraction force previously generated by the drive is maintained without the drive having to be further supplied with drive current. The belt webbing retraction force set by the drive can therefore be maintained solely by the retaining pawl.
[0007] A further significant advantage of the belt retractor according to claim 1 is that a single coil is used to adjust the locking pawl and the retaining pawl, thus saving parts; the position of the locking pawl and the retaining pawl is determined by the current level.
[0008] An additional advantage of the belt retractor according to claim 1 is that the drive and the retaining latch can replace a return spring, for example in the form of a coil spring, provided in other belt retractors to maintain a predetermined belt retraction force, thus eliminating the need for the latter. Furthermore, as mentioned above, the belt retraction force can be individually adjusted by controlling the drive accordingly to set the desired belt retraction force.
[0009] The second current level is preferably greater than the first current level.
[0010] It is advantageous if the retaining pawl interacts with a retaining toothing and the locking pawl interacts with a locking toothing, with the retaining toothing having more teeth or a higher tooth density than the locking toothing. A high tooth density (e.g., 36 retaining teeth / 360°) in the retaining toothing allows a large number of holding positions of the retaining pawl in the retaining toothing and reduces the loss of force that occurs when the belt spool continues to rotate slightly after the drive is switched off due to play between the retaining pawl and the retaining toothing. The tooth density of the locking toothing (e.g., 24 retaining teeth / 360°) can be optimized independently of the retaining toothing with a view to the restraint force to be absorbed in the event of an accident.
[0011] The belt retractor preferably has a control device that energizes the coil depending on at least one measured value from a vehicle sensor. The vehicle sensor is preferably an electrical vehicle sensor.
[0012] The vehicle sensor is preferably a sensor that also measures at least vehicle-related acceleration values. The control device preferably sets the locking pawl to the locking position if excessive acceleration values are measured.
[0013] The reference element can, for example, be a housing part, in particular made of soft magnetic material.
[0014] It can also advantageously be provided that the locking pawl interacts with a locking pawl spring, which exerts a spring force on the locking pawl toward the locking position and holds the locking pawl in the locking position when the coil is de-energized. The magnetic field generated by the coil in the energized state, both at the first and second current levels, holds the locking pawl, preferably in the release position, against the spring force of the spring.
[0015] The retaining pawl preferably cooperates with a retaining pawl spring, which exerts a spring force on the retaining pawl in the direction of the release position and holds it in the release position when the coil is de-energized.
[0016] The magnetic field generated by the coil in the energized state at the second current level holds the holding pawl in the holding position, preferably against the spring force of the holding pawl spring.
[0017] The retaining pawl is preferably made of a soft magnetic material or preferably has at least a portion of soft magnetic material that is magnetized by the magnetic field of the coil.
[0018] In the belt retractor according to the invention according to claim 10, it is provided, among other things, that the adjusting device has a spring-loaded anchor which - when the coil is de-energised, it assumes an initial position in which it holds the pawl in its locked position, - at a coil current with the first current level, assumes a release position - relative to the locking pawl - in which the locking pawl is held in its release position and is acted upon by the coil with a magnetic flux of the first flux density, and - at a coil current with the second current level, also assumes the release position - relative to the pawl - and is acted upon by the coil with a magnetic flux of second flux density, which is greater than the first flux density.
[0019] In the latter variant, it is advantageous if the armature leaves the holding pawl in its release position when there is a magnetic flux of the first flux density and holds the holding pawl in its holding position when there is a magnetic flux of the second flux density.
[0020] The invention also relates to an arrangement comprising a vehicle seat and a belt retractor. According to the invention, the belt retractor is configured as described above and integrated into the vehicle seat.
[0021] The invention also relates to a belt retractor having the features according to claim 13.
[0022] With regard to the advantages of the latter belt retractor, which has at least two coils, the above statements apply essentially correspondingly in connection with the belt retractor described at the beginning, which manages with a single coil or at least can manage with a single coil and is current level controlled.
[0023] The adjusting device preferably comprises a spring which acts on both the retaining pawl and the locking pawl.
[0024] A first spring portion, in particular a first spring end of the spring, is preferably connected to the locking pawl, and a second spring portion, in particular a second spring end of the spring, is preferably connected to the retaining pawl.
[0025] The first and second coils are preferably arranged coaxially.
[0026] The armature is preferably axially displaceable between the two coils and can be displaced into the area of the first coil when current flows in the first coil and into the area of the second coil when current flows in the second coil.
[0027] The invention is explained in more detail below using exemplary embodiments; by way of example, Fig. 1-3 Components of a first embodiment of a belt retractor according to the invention, Fig. 4-6 Components of a second embodiment of a belt retractor according to the invention, Fig. 7-9 Components of a third embodiment of a belt retractor according to the invention and Fig. 10 in three-dimensional representation components for the arrangement according to the Fig. 7 to 9.
[0028] For the sake of clarity, the same reference symbols are always used in the figures for identical or comparable components.
[0029] The Fig. 1 shows components of a first embodiment of a belt retractor 1 according to the invention.
[0030] The belt retractor 1 comprises a pawl 10, which is pivotable about a rotational axis 11. A permanent magnet 12 is attached to one end of the pawl 10. The pawl 10 can be adjusted by an adjusting device 20, specifically into a release position and a locking position. Fig. 1 shows the locking position of the pawl 10.
[0031] The permanent magnet 12 of the pawl 10 has two magnetic poles, one of which is arranged close to the coil in relation to a coil 21 of the adjusting device 20 and is marked with the reference symbol N, and one magnetic pole remote from the coil, which is in the Fig. 1 is marked with the reference symbol S.
[0032] The Fig. 1 shows the coil 21 of the adjustment device 20 in the current-free or non-current-carrying state, in which the coil 21 itself does not generate its own magnetic field. Fig. The locking position of the pawl 10 shown in Figure 1 is set by the permanent magnet 12, whose magnetic field ensures that the pawl 10 moves about the rotational axis 11 toward a magnetizable reference element located in the region of the coil 21, for example in the form of a soft-magnetic housing 23 of the adjusting device 20. In the current-free state, the permanent magnet 12 of the pawl 10 causes the pawl 10 to pivot automatically into its locking position.
[0033] The coil 21 is connected to a control device 30, which can feed a coil current I into the coil 21 to control the adjustment device 20 or to adjust the locking pawl 10. The control device 30 preferably controls the coil 21 as a function of at least one sensor measurement value M, which is generated by a vehicle sensor 40 connected to the control device 30 and transmitted to the control device 30. The vehicle sensor 40 is preferably an electrical vehicle sensor that can measure vehicle acceleration. In the event of vehicle acceleration exceeding a predetermined level, as typically occurs in the event of an accident or dangerous situation, the control device 30 switches the locking pawl 10 to the locked position by switching off the coil current I.
[0034] The Fig. 1 also shows a belt spool 50 of the belt retractor 1, which serves to wind and unwind a safety belt 60. A drive 70 of the belt retractor 1 can drive the belt spool 50 to wind the safety belt 60 and set a predetermined tension or belt retraction force on the safety belt 60.
[0035] The belt retractor 1 further comprises a retaining pawl 80 which is pivotable about a rotational axis 81. One pawl end of the retaining pawl 80 is connected to a retaining pawl spring 22 of the adjusting device 20. In the embodiment according to Fig. 1 a spring force along the Fig. 1, marked with the reference symbol Fh. The retaining pawl spring 22 can, for example, be a tension spring.
[0036] The retaining pawl 80 can have a release position as shown in the Fig. 1, or assume a holding position. The adjustment of the holding pawl 80 is carried out by the adjusting device 20, which can also adjust the locking pawl 10. The holding pawl 80 serves to lock the belt reel 50 in a holding position and in the Fig. 1 to leave the belt reel 50 unlocked.
[0037] The locking pawl 10 of the belt retractor 1 is mechanically designed to be able to hold the belt webbing pull-out forces that occur in the event of an accident in its locked position. In contrast, the holding pawl 80 serves to interact with the drive 70. If, during normal operation, a predetermined belt restraining force or belt tension is set on the seat belt 60 by the drive 70, the holding pawl 80 can lock the belt spool 50 in its holding position so that the belt webbing pull-in force previously applied by the drive 70 is maintained; the drive 70 can thus be switched off by the holding pawl 80 after the holding position has been reached. In other words, the holding pawl 80 serves to maintain a certain belt tension during normal operation in the event of an accident, whereas the locking pawl 10 is designed for use in the event of an accident and can absorb the belt webbing pull-out forces that occur in the event of an accident.
[0038] The retaining pawl 80 consists entirely or at least partially of a magnetizable (e.g. ferrous) material, so that when a sufficiently large magnetic field is generated by the coil 21, the retaining pawl will pivot towards the coil 21. In the current-free state, as in the Fig. 1, the retaining pawl 80 is pivoted into its release position by the spring force Fh.
[0039] The Fig. Figure 2 shows the locking pawl 10, the adjusting device 20 and the holding pawl 80 in the energized state of the coil 21 with a first, small current level I1. Due to the Fig. 2, a coil magnetic field is formed, in which a magnetic pole near the pawl, which is designated by the reference symbol N in Fig. 2, has the same name as the magnetic pole N of the permanent magnet 12 near the coil. The similarity of the opposing poles N leads to a repulsion force Fm, by which the pawl 10 is pivoted and released from its Fig. 1 shown locking position into the position shown in the Fig. 2. The pivoting of the locking pawl 10 is therefore based on a repulsion of the permanent magnet 12 by the orientation of the magnetic field generated by the coil 21.
[0040] It is evident that the Fig. 2 achieved repulsion of the permanent magnet 12 only with the corresponding current direction, as shown in the Fig. 2; in the case of an opposite current direction or inverse current direction, no repulsion effect would occur, instead the permanent magnet 12 would be attracted to the coil 21 and the pawl would remain in its locking position.
[0041] The Fig. Figure 2 also shows that at the first current level I1, the magnetic field generated by coil 21 is not yet sufficiently large to pivot the retaining pawl 80 against the spring force Fh of the retaining pawl spring 22. The retaining pawl 80 therefore remains in the release position, as it is in the de-energized state.
[0042] The Fig. 3 shows the locking pawl 10, the adjusting device 20 and the retaining pawl 80 according to the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 when energized with a second, large current level I2, which is greater than the first current level I1 according to Fig. 2. It can be seen that the repulsion of the permanent magnet 12 by the coil 21 remains, as is the case in connection with the Fig. 2 has already been explained above.
[0043] In addition, the Fig. 3 that due to the higher current level of the coil current I, the magnetic field generated by the coil 21 is now sufficiently large to pivot the retaining pawl 80 against the spring force Fh of the retaining pawl spring 22 and from the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 into its holding position. In the holding position of the holding pawl 80, this interacts with the belt reel 50 according to Fig. 1 together and locks a belt extension.
[0044] The Fig. 1, namely the control device 30, the vehicle sensor 40, the belt reel 50, the safety belt 60 and the drive 70 are shown in the Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 not shown again.
[0045] The Fig. 4 to 6 show a further embodiment of a locking pawl 10, an adjusting device 20 and a holding pawl 80, which in the belt retractor 1 according to Fig. 1 can be used instead of the locking pawl 10, adjusting device 20 and retaining pawl 80 shown there.
[0046] The Fig. 4 shows an armature 25 which is acted upon by a return spring 24 with a restoring force and which, in the de-energized state of the coil 21, is moved by the return spring 24 into the position shown in the Fig. 4, in which the locking pawl 10 assumes its locking position and the holding pawl 80 assumes its release position.
[0047] The pawl 10 is in the embodiment according to Fig. 4 is pivoted by a pawl spring 13 with a spring force Fs in the direction of the armature 25 and pressed onto it.
[0048] The position of the retaining pawl 80 is determined by the retaining pawl spring 22, which pivots the retaining pawl 80 into the position shown.
[0049] The Fig. 5 shows the arrangement according to Fig. 4 at a coil current I with the first current level I1. It can be seen that the coil current I draws the armature 25 into the area of the coil 21 against the restoring force of the return spring 24, whereby the pawl spring 13 is pivoted and moved from its blocking position into its release position.
[0050] The holding pawl 80 remains in its release position because the magnetic field generated by the coil 21 at the first current level I1 is not yet sufficient to pivot the holding pawl 80, which is made partially or completely of magnetizable (e.g., ferrous) material, from the release position into the holding position against the spring force of the holding pawl spring 22.
[0051] The Fig. 6 shows the arrangement according to the Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 at a coil current I with a second current level I2 which is greater than the first current level I1 according to Fig. 5. It can be seen that the magnetic field generated by the coil 21 is now so large that the retaining pawl 80 pivots against the spring force of the retaining pawl 22 and thereby moves from its release position according to the Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 is brought into its holding position.
[0052] Furthermore, the above statements apply in connection with the Fig. 1 shown further components, which are included in the Fig. 4 to 6 are not shown again, i.e. the control device 30, the vehicle sensor 40, the belt reel 50, the safety belt 60 and the drive 70 in the embodiment according to the Fig. 4 to 6 accordingly.
[0053] The Fig. 7 to 9 show a further embodiment of a locking pawl 10, an adjusting device 20 and a holding pawl 80, which in the belt retractor 1 according to Fig. 1 can be used instead of the locking pawl 10, adjusting device 20 and retaining pawl 80 shown there.
[0054] In the embodiment according to the Fig. 7 to 9, the adjusting device 20 has a first coil 21a and a second coil 21b, which are arranged coaxially to one another and allow a magnetizable (e.g., iron-containing) armature 25 to be displaced in the axial direction along the arrow direction X into the region of the first coil 21a or into the region of the second coil 21b.
[0055] The adjusting device 20 further comprises a return spring 24, which is coupled to both a locking pawl 10 and a holding pawl 80 and, when the two coils 21a and 21b are de-energized, ensures that the locking pawl 10 assumes its locking position and the holding pawl 80 assumes its release position. The spring force of the return spring 24 pushes the armature 25 into the central region between the two coils 21a and 21b, as shown in the Fig. 7 shows.
[0056] The Fig. 8 shows the arrangement according to Fig. 7 when the first coil 21a is energized. It can be seen that the armature 25 is displaced into the area of the first coil 21a, pivoting the locking pawl 10 and moving it from its locking position to the release position. The position of the retaining pawl 80 remains unchanged; it continues to assume its release position.
[0057] The Fig. 9 shows the arrangement according to the Fig. 7 and Fig. 8 in the case of energization of the second coil 21b. It can be seen that the armature 25 now dips into the area of the second coil 21b and thereby pivots the retaining pawl 80, so that it is transferred from its release position to its holding position. The locking pawl 10 is now also adjusted again by the displacement of the armature 25, namely from its release position according to Fig. 8 into its locking position, as it is in the de-energized state according to Fig. 7 occupies.
[0058] The Fig. 10 shows in a three-dimensional view obliquely from the side components which are used to realize the arrangement according to the Fig. 7 to 9 can be used. One can see a coil carrier 200, which is designed to hold the first coil 21a according to the Fig. 7 to 9. A second coil carrier 210 serves to hold the Fig. 7 to 9. The armature 25 according to the Fig. 7 to 9 is formed by a plunger 220 which can be inserted in the axial direction along the direction of arrow X both into the coil carrier 200 and into the coil carrier 210.
[0059] An outer sleeve 230 serves for the external shielding of the plunger 220 and the two coil carriers 200 and 210. At the end, the arrangement can be closed by two covers 240, as shown in the Fig. 10 is shown.
[0060] Although the invention has been illustrated and described in detail by means of preferred embodiments, the invention is not limited by the disclosed examples and other variations can be derived therefrom by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention.
